WearOS has been a weird state for wearable smart devices, they're not great but not bad. With Snapdragon processors now being used in watches, Mobvoi might be turning things around for Android users with their Ticwatch series.

My nest mini actually set a reminder to fire colton when linus asked for it lol.

I knew this would happen, this is how guys show affection and communicate!

And now my Google Assistant will remind me to fire Colton on Friday at 530 as well. Thanks Linus!
Me too. Gonna fire him out of a cannon.
And same, can’t wait
Why you do dis to us Linus
Me three
Ditto
My Google Home actually created an alarm to fire Colton 🤣
He is now probably the most fired person in history😆
My phone did too
Mine too. Fortunately I was able to catch it and cancel it quickly... otherwise I'd have forgotten entirely and been confused at the alarm going off.
y u do this linus
@@Locke99GS ok, but make sure that you remember to fire colton...
Mine too. And I still dont know how to cancle it.
I have tested this watch and I find a fundamental flaw: It's advertised as a companion for swimmers but it only has IP68. (fit enough to withstand dust, dirt, and sand, and are resistant to submersion up to a maximum depth of 1.5m underwater for up to thirty minutes). It includes a swim tracking mode but this device is certainly NOT DESIGNED TO TRACK SWIMING. To make it worse, the screen will not lock when swimming. There is no way to lock the screen manually. When swimming, the watch will go nuts like any touchscreen does when is wet. I would not recommend this device for swimmers.
There is a way to lock the screen when you want, plus you can put a lock on it (password/pattern)
Wow I'm really impressed by the speed. It seems that Wear OS watches are finally becoming viable.
It's viable since the tic watch 3 pro, which has even slightly better hardware than this one. But all other watches without the Qualcomm 4100 are really awful in performance.
They will get even better when the samsung-google collab happens
Sponsored by wear os
Me watching from my apple watch: heh peasants
TBH I think the bigger problem was RAM. Watches with older soC's like the TWP 4G are doing pretty well with 1GB
Damn it, Linus, you didn't bleep out the command word and now I have an alarm for 530 on Friday to fire Coulton.
lmao same
Same here. Luckily I was able to say "cancel that" at the end 🤦♂️😂
why can your assistant do i t but Linus' can't??

*Clicks video* "GET THE HELL OUTTA MY LIFE! WHO NEEDS YOU!?"
Me: Already, fine sheesh...
It was a movie he was referencing :)
I really hope WearOS and Google get their shit together in the near future. I want to rock a good wearable (that's not a Apple Watch) sooner rather than later.
Their first watch was rock solid, till they broke it, every time they fix it they break it.
Google has never been consistently serious about their consumer electronics.
Thanks, now I have 5.30 alarm call
Biggest news in the video: "Zombies, Run!" still exist!
I played it a lot ages ago on my HTC Desire. I thought it got cancelled, but I'm happy that it wasn't!
EDIT: I later discovered that the game I played was "Zombie, Run!" and it was around two years before "ZombieS, Run!" was first released.
I thought it got canceled too. I wonder what kind of updates they made since, I might try it again.
bro I had an HTC Desire but broke it within 2 weeks of getting it :(
although I have a OnePlus 7 Pro now after going through an iPhone SE (the OG) and a Galaxy A50 so I guess it's alright lol
It looks like they have removed my favourite feature, shared multiplayer session where you could see yourself and your friends on the same map. Although, I can't remember if we actually got it to work. 🤔
It still exists but they moved to a subscription version. And they have I think 6 or 7 seasons now! I really recommend!
@@TheGreatMandalore oh, is that what that is! I have to check it in.
My Pebble 2 was so close to the perfect smartwatch for me. Bring Pebble back!
I would pay too much for a pebble time 2
Still using my Time and a P2+HR, really want Pebble back!
Google owns fitbit who owns pebble now... So there's a chance 😩🤞
@@slugrag Not a chance with Google. And if they bizarrely did, then they'd likely just cancel it after one iteration.
Agreed I loved that watch
I know im a bit late, but i just wanna say that ive had my Ticwatch Pro 3 GPS from 2020 and i love it. Its great, the glass is virtually scratch proof (unintentionally tested that many many times), and i even got a leather wrist strap for it. Its a nice, stylish, easy to use little watch. my only gripe is the screen responsiveness. Its not as smooth all the time, and sometimes it freezes depending on the app, but its rare. The best thing about the Pro 3 GPS is the secondary 7 segment LCD display.
I'm waiting to see what samsung and fitbit do with the new watches that got announced
I have a Ticwatch C2 that's a couple of years old now, and after disabling all the Mobvoi bloatware to get as close to WearOS as possible.. I noticed a WILD difference in animation smoothness and general snappiness. I can imagine doing the same on this watch would drastically increase performance
So how many people now have a reminder to fire Colton on their google home? I do.
Colton: when that reminder goes off... YOUR ASS IS GRASS AND I'M THE MOWER!
same
Headphones / Earbuds ftw
...didn't even consider that. xD Oh shoot.
Yup mine set a reminder for me.
Mine decided it meant to set an alarm for 5am... Glad I caught that one...
After years of struggling with my Ticwatch2 slugishness, I can say the TicWatch3 is amazingly responsive, calls are very clear on the watch, and battery life is much improved. My only gripe is that the secondary display is way to 1980 looking.
What is the battery life?
@@thomasphillips885 like 3-5 days
The Happy Gilmore part 😂😂😂😂
This actually looks pretty darn nice! I got an Oppo Watchlast year as it was one of the very few last-gen WearOS devices that actually got decent reviews (plus the fact it looks like an Apple Watch doesn't hurt!)
Linus seemed really bored with this watch.
It's a sponsored video. Pretty sure you get linus to do the showcase if you pay more :P
I have a Ticwatch E. It's been okay, but wow the smoothness of gestures and animations and the snappiness and responsiveness is *so* much better on the E3. Glad someone finally put good hardware in an affordable android wear watch.
They have been cheeky with E3 in the name
This is one I might actually consider thanks... oh and thanks for the ⏰ 2 🔥 Colton, poor guy
My Nest will remind me about Colton later thanks LTT
I've loved all my tic watches. Mobvoi does this very well.
Thank you for sticking with your Note 9, you are helping the environment!

Me: I see Linus fired Colton again…
I bought this immediately after watching this video - I've had it for a week now and I love it! I tried a watch from Mobvoi a few months ago, but it was nowhere near as fast as I'd expected (it wasn't any faster than the Moto 360 I had way back when) and it was suuuuper thick. Sent it back after 24hrs. This one is both fast AND thinner, and it looks and feels great!
just to check up, how was/is the watch going?
can you check your phones gallery on the watch?
Quite interesting, need a full review of this
@ShortCircuit if it has the swimming mode in its sports tracking app you could try to submerge it in freshwater and see if it get's as easily broken as the Ticwatch Pro 3, if you search it up there are rising cases of the vital sensors stopping to work after contact with water (and that's just freshwater as you mentioned)
I'm in the market for a smart watch. Please cover the privacy policies of these devices, especially the cheap ones. I would like to know if the devices are being subsidized by health data.
i stopped using chrome when i got a google watch - the idea of them being able to correlate my heartrate to the page i just visited seemed a lil creepy.
Once got a cheap Chinese one, quick read through their privacy policy and I retuned it and bought a FitBit.
If it looks to good to be true, it is.
If you need something *relatively* cheap, I recommend a FitBit Versa or a 2nd hand Apple Watch.
alright, now time to start a company, hire somebody named Colton so I can complete my task by this friday
This was a nicely done commercial - thanks, Linus! I hope you like your TicWatch E3 and hope their interface has improved...
If a commercial can be 'nice'.
Props to Linus for the happy Gilmour reference when he calls back Colton. Hahahaha
This isn’t a watch review, this is a Colton roast
Way to make my Google assistant set an alarm... Thanks for that
Would’ve thought this was a J2¢ vid based on the stock background music. Not too shabby!
The most important thing imo is whether you can store music on the watch for offline listening. No more jogging with the phone...
You can but check the storage size it's not huge. If you have LTE you can stream it. Also since Google killed Google play music I'm not sure if there's an app that plays music on a Wear OS device anymore, I guess there should be something. Stupid Google RUclips Music didn't support Wear OS.
That's the most jumping jacks/exercise Linus has ever done consecutively in his entire life.
Huh? He’s a badminton ace!

I picked up one a month ago, love it. It's a replacement for my bricked Samsung fit2 and my returned (after 1 month) Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 classic because of pathetic battery life and Galaxy health not recording data. Very impressed with the Ticwatch E3. Great battery life, great price, and Google Fit records my data. 1 month in and very happy.
Hey guys do you guys recommend to watch e3 or Samsung active 2 I want to youse it more for messaging then sporting
My fossil sport has spent many hours in sea water and still works like new... 🤔
I'd love to get a wear OS watch but I still haven't found one that compelled me to buy one.
I agree. I kind of really want to get either a Fitbit or the Samsung active 2 but that's a multi year commitment for me and I'm holding out for a possible pixel watch
@@lunarlegend8924 it doesn't even have to be a pixel watch for me. Even though I am currently using a Pixel 5. I just wanted to be a really good watch if I'm going to start carrying in 24/7
Really hoping for a full review of this when it gets the new Wear OS on the main channel.
I've been using the Ticwatch Pro 3 since mid March. Mobvoi has done pretty good with Wear OS
You guys should review Fossil Smart watches I like the one I've been using for 3 years.
My Fossil Garret HR the Google Assistant only partially works, it can't set reminders, send message or various other things. The Assistant can only bring up web searches. Fossil has been chasing up Google for a year on this. It's not the first time Google has released an update that broke older watches.
meanwhile apple getting ready to put the m1 chip in the new Apple Watch
The watch will get final cut pro before the iPad lmao
i have the pro 3 and i god damn love it, the second screen is amazing and DAMN i get like 4 days per charge
Was just looking up the watch, the E3 is a 20mm strap, the Pro is a 22mm. So the straps were probably for the standard size not the slightly smaller Ticwatch E3.
IM EARLLLLY
just as early as i wanna tell you about our sponser Ridge wallet...
Linus chilling with his S21 Ultra!
5:30 thanks for setting my alarm Linus......
how many days does the battery actually last? have the old ticwatch s2 which has a larger 412mah battery lasts 3 days for 10 hour intervals, with the new processor i would expect it to take less power though its usually the display that kills battery life.
1:35 pretty sure freshwater is conductive too 🤔
I think this was an inaccuracy in the video. The problem with salt water is not its conductivity, but that the salt may attack the material so that the watch/device could lose its water resistance and then get damaged.
Compared to salt water it's safe to say its not
@@RudyOMP all freshwater will have at least low levels of salts in it, making it conductive.
I have a Ticwatch Pro 3 and I like it okay so far. While it's 2-display system isn't perfect, it works well enough that I can't imagine having a WearOS watch without something like it. And it has been getting updates quite frequently, which is also nice.
Is always nice to watch a review and realise I can't afford the product reviewed.
the hitmark joke at 7:14 the editor nailed that one
And apparently it’s going to get the new wear os that’s coming out later in the year!I think I am going to purchase this myself.
great video enjoyed every second
Bruh the video has been out for only a minute
How have u seen it its 49 secs old
🧠
The happy Gilmore reference had me laughing
Hey simple question. Is the back plate made of metal? I'm allergic to most metals so this would be very helpful.
You should do a follow up on this review - one year later - how Mobvoi lied to its customers and offered NO SUPPORT WHATSOEVER! Promising an upgrade to Wear os 3 before end 2022 - Not! Not ever a security update since 5 Oct 2021 (and they advertise to use google wallet)! My Pro 3 Ultra GPS will be the last product I ever buy from Mobvoi!
And to rub salt in the wound there are rumors of the Pro 5 Ultra on it's way with Wear OS 3.....with a company supporting their customers like Mobvoi - not a chance!
the hey google part I can tell you my google home was ready for it XD
got the ticwatch e2, looking for an upgrade, this sold me on the paying with the watch and taking calls and stuff through it thank you for the honest review
ticwatch pro 3 is better, no dual screen is a deal breaker
5:00 "A watch that actually works as a watch".
I have that since three years! Called Garmin Fénix. When will you review these?
Great fitness watches that can do some smart stuff. But they are not smartwatches.
@@tams805 Why defines a smart watch? The only thing my Fenix can't do it to place phone calls. I can accept and reject them, though.
The Descent! but CASIO F91W-1 been doing that since 1989
So would you recommend the E3 over the pro 4 lte? I’m really struggling on what to get my son (he’s 28) for Christmas. He is a big guy so will need longer bands to put on whichever one he gets. These seem to be the same price, so which would you recommend?
And now I have an alarm called "Perry Pullman" on Friday, thanks Linus. :D

and he most likely will switch back to his Apple Watch right after he finished this video.
Outdoor run first followed by outdoor walk and cycling is what most people will track, the apple watch aso does it like that and it’s fine, I’m running every single day, I don’t want to awkwardly scroll to the “O” every time…
Jumping Jacks are a gateway exercise. Good on you, Colton.

Problem with buying any wearos devices now is that there is no guarantee of getting the just announced complete overhauled update.
IP68 is water ingress protection. Salt water and fresh water ingress devices the same. If a thing is sealed against fresh water ingress, it's sealed against salt water ingress. Yes, salt water corrodes things, like the metal in the charging port, but otherwise, IP68-rated devices keep salt water out just the same as fresh water.
I have a Garmin Fenix 6S Pro and Im very happy with it. Its battery life is measures in days instead of hours.
Oh, you had to set an alarm for 5am. Damn you.
Best watch
Dual screen on Mobvoi Pro watches is amazing.
This was surprisingly good.
I really enjoyed that you commented "A watch that is actually a watch" My wife just didn't understand that this function is critical! It's also wild to me that so many watches do not have this feature.
i have had two watches from Mobvoi. Ticwatch pro 1 and their Ticwatch pro 3 ultra gps models.
while otherwise excellent watches, both have had their charger cables die on me within a year.
cord itself holds just fine, so it ain't no Apple level of bs, but it's always one or both pins on the charger wearing off and it starts to become one to 10 minutes long process to try and getting it to charge at all.
i recently bought one of those magnetic charger stand things for it off Amazon.
while it being so recent purchase (less than a week) i can't say anything about it's longevity, but the charger seems to work really fast and easily for now at least.
Treating myself to a smart watch next month and I'm torn between this and the galaxy watch 4, what would you recommend?
The Happy Gilmore reference was great 🤣
Can't forget my ticwatch E, my first smartwatch which motivated me to go down the mechanical automatic and GShock lines for peace of mind, not going to buy another gadget to keep recharging daily ..
