- Reviewing Mobvoi's Ticwatch Pro 5 Enduro, an updated version of one of my favourite Wear OS smartwatches for 2024. Vs the Galaxy Watch 6, Pixel Watch 2 etc, the Ticwatch Pro 5 Enduro boasts the best battery life - while the £329 UK asking price means great value.
I've been testing this wearable for over a week now, checking out the fitness tracking and other features. So here's my final review of the Ticwatch Pro 5 Enduro and check back soon for my best smartwatches of 2024 round-up!
While this wearable's greatest feature is that stunning battery life, thanks to the dual display tech, it's not a one trick watch. You've got the usual bundle of great Google tools including Maps, Wallet etc. Everything apart from the Assistant. Meanwhile the Mobvoi Ticwatch Pro 5 Enduro boasts upgraded sapphire glass and a couple of other upgrades. It's pleasingly rugged for outdoor use, swimming etc.
This smartwatch also serves up the full fitness features, including ample exercise tracking. Wear OS is fully customisable as always. And the Ticwatch Pro 5 Enduro can also download fresh apps from the Play Store.

Well maybe a lot operating system software tweaks that you can't see?
A few other little tweaks here and there, including the third party support for the low-power screen, but yep, it's otherwise the same Ticwatch
Yup classic mobvoi why would they do a software update for their previous watch when they can package that update in a new watch! Before I get hate I had the ticwatch pro e... They trumped that with the pointless ultra, and then languished on any updates for the pro 3. I now have the pro 5, which still doesn't have Google now and probably never will lol

Fair price for the design
Nice watch. I have been rocking the OnePlus Watch 2 for a month and love it. First WearOS watch. My trusty old Garmin Fenix 5X Sapphire died on me after 4 years and didn't have the budget for a newer Fenix 7, so I took a chance and it's been great. It's nice to see WearOS improve.
No problems with it? I've been seeing a lot of issues pop up in the reviews of OHealth and that makes me weary of buying it

No Google assistant for that much money - no thanks! I was intrigued until then.
Thanks for covering the details. It would be good to know if installing it from the APK would give you hands-free access to the assistant.

I didn't know TicWatch was still making smartwatches.
Man i just got a Fossile Gen 6. For $50 I like the OS and really like offline Spotify but the battery lasts 12 hours max. Used to have an Amazfit T Rex which i loved but lost. Now i cant decide between this and the t rex 2. T Rex 2 is great but the OS is not close to this. But the damn thing will last a month. At least my T Rex did. Decisions decisions.

Yes. You might actually get an update to Wear OS 4. The Tic 5, probably not.

This release is quite odd. The oneplus Watch 2 arrived with OS Wear 4. This new Ticwatch STILL has Wear 3.5. Ticwatch never updated the earlier Ticwatch Pro 3 Ultra, like they promised so, in my mind, I wouldn't touch it as they'll probably NEVER provide major os updates.
that's why I sold the standard 5 and jumped to the OnePlus watch 2. It also works with lift to wake (the pro 5 didn't seem to do so well).
How is OHealth doing for you? I want to buy the watch but I'm seeing a lot of reviews from people saying the watch disconnects and a bunch of other issues
@@vakama94 I mainly use it on holiday, for navigating from point to point. Steps, etc. I sync and then go about my day. It does seem to stay connected to G Maps, but there's always those moments when you have to restart one, or the other. That's been the same with the Ticwatch 3 Ultra and Ticwatch 5. That could just be Google being google. All watches often looked like I was walking up a street sideways, or the map doesn't rotate properly. Move wrist, move it back.
Little things. Not deal breakers. A deal breaker is Ticwatch not updating their phones. For me, being on Wear OS 4 is MUCH better than buying a new watch that might be stuck on OS Wear 3.5 forever.
So other than the sapphire glass, nothing actually new then ?

@@Ev-mo I am a TicWatch owner so what I'm on about is that they are over-hyping the minimal changes. I'm still a fan of the brand, but they could have saved this to add to the next gen upgrade that would be more meaningful.
Not all pensioners' wrists are thin and frail and weedy like yours. Mine are quite sturdy! Damnyou.
I had ticwatch 3 ultra and im disappointed, never again ticwatch, for more than year no even one update, and after year break down, the one of the side buttons stop working
Did you say 44 grams? That sounds too light to be accurate

Yeah, for casual use that would be enough. This is more for either power users or active people for biking and other active sports.

Not much over previous model, right? Previous model has PLENTY of faults and issues!!
This is an expensive model, again, given such small improvements and looking back at previous models experience with quality and customer service. IMO it's NOT worth it, to be honest! I'll wait for the Pixel Watch next gen to compare and see if it's worth going with Mobvoi.

After the sh*tshow and lack of updates and support from opening the box on my Pro 2020 at launch, topped with appalling customer service, I will NEVER buy another Ticwatch ever again. Utter dog's eggs. Avoid.
