I appreciate the honest take. The truth is Apple has given us nothing for years and every RUclipsr pretends to be excited about it so they keep getting invited to the events. The thing I appreciate about your coverage this year is you made it clear that you are unimpressed with Apple’s refusal to innovate. Your honesty and integrity is why I watch you.

@@Thomas-kp8moi actually thought iphone 15 was a good upgrade with the usb-c port. i got rid of so many dedicated apple cables from my house and cars and office. Also I really really love the 5x optical zoom. however not really sure about the 16. i would just save money and get the 15PM.

In case you were wondering why smartphones have felt stale lately, it's because HTC and LG left the chat. They were the true risk takers and innovators.

Sadly, they were ahead of their time; LG came out with the Wing and now people want a sliding phone that T-Mobile used to offer🙄
Nokia used to do it as well.
Lumia windows phones were gorgeous.
It didn't work mainly coz of poor app ecosystem.
LG had the cool “knock knock” feature that would turn on/off their screens (which their glass pane refrigerators still have btw), HTC experimented with 3D video recording with their EVO series 12 years ago, and Motorola had some awesome magnetic back accessories called “Moto Mods” on their ‘Z Force Droid’ line like the JBL loudspeaker and semi-bright film projector!
But it was all a little gimmicky compared to Apple’s more polished and refined ecosystem experience which because it’s stayed the same for so long, makes it extremely appealing for families and folks who just want simple tech “that just works” in background.
The most innovative of the video is the Dbrand AD.
Also the phone at the end of the video is beautiful and stable at the table.

I've had my iPhone 15 Pro Max since launch day and I've never had it overheat and I pretty much only charge it wirelessly, often in my car in Phoenix AZ where we just ended our "days over 100F" streak of 108 days. It occasionally gets warm, but it has never overheated or gotten too hot to touch. I've honestly never heard of this 15 Pro Max issue.

You being able to squeeze out a 11:20 long video from this incremental upgrade is a remarkable feat. Plus you've got a deep dive one coming up which I assume will be just as long.

The internal hardware is quite a major upgrade over the previous generation. However, understandably, main focus always goes to the external design.
Bigger battery, bigger in size, thinner bezel, new chip and camera. I’d call that an upgrade. These are only worth it if you have a 12, 13 or in my case 14 (standard) with a f’d up battery.

I went from an 8 Plus to a 15 Pro a couple months ago, after almost six years -- that's what you call an UPGRADE and I'm very satisfied. If everyone did the same we would really reduce this consumerist mindset. Looking forward to upgrading again in like 2029 when iPhones will have gone all-screen and who knows what else, while yall in here are still gonna be crying about buying yearly and getting the same phone for no reason.

- 3D touch wasn't even that big of a deal and majority of people didn't use it.
- headphone jack removal was a good move. It frees up space, water/dust proofs the phone more, why have 2 separate holes when you can have one for charging, headphones, data transfer ect.
- The brick is a good point although I also understand Apple where many people have bricks at their homes and many just buy different third party bricks

Volume Mixer
Island function customization (quick app switcher instead of that left to right swipe etc or quick tool access like flashlight. Just imagine it like a mini control center)
1 button app closing (can be a function of the above)
Also, the control center should have a customizable “airplane mode, airdrop, WiFi” grouping. I want to switch out airdrop and make it Bluetooth.
There’s no need for 1 button app closing, that’s managed by the os.
What we really need is the ability to run background downloads/uploads, which currently works only with Apple apps
I need the cable management like android has, where you can customize if you’re using data, power, who you’re sending power too, etc

I'm still in disbelief that the 16 base has only 60 hz, it blows my mind.
It’s been 2-3 years that I’ve been willing and ready to upgrade my iPhone, but every time the base model comes with a low refresh rate screen, I change my mind. I’m not spending money on a Pro model because I couldn’t care less about the other Pro features. So, thanks Apple for saving me some money… 😂

I’ll be honest, this year’s iphone lineup has been one of the worst in a long time
Phones have already reached their peak year ago unless there’s another breakthrough in redefining what a phone is, there’s no need to upgrade I have a 13 Pro and I don’t see myself getting a new phone for at least another 3 years. And this applies to all phones out there where it’s iOS or android
I have a 13 Mini and feel the same way. Actually, the only reason I got the 13 Mini is because it was closest to my previous phone, the first-gen SE, which I think is the best phone Apple has ever made.
True. Giving Apple the benefit of the doubt (just this one time), pretty much every other smartphone out there has peaked in terms of design and innovation. The true innovation we’ll see from these companies are products that most people don’t own, like the Apple Vision Pro or foldable phones (when they stop having the creasing problem on the screen).
Isn’t that a good thing? The phones already do anything that you need them to do.
Personally I’m using a 12 and the thought of upgrading has never even crossed my mind. This is my first iPhone and I’m very pleased with it.

Two insane things to me.
One, they built a whole new fancy complex button before they put Touch ID back into the phones when they've had fingerprint sensors in the power button of the iPad Air for years.
Two, 60hz. Absolutely ridiculous. 120 is already standard in every other phone in this price range. They KNOW people buy these phones and keep them for years. Imagine having a 60hz phone four years from now.

The big problem with installing screen protectors isn’t the actual process being too difficult, it’s having to damn near be in a clean room to get it installed without any specs of dust underneath it.
at this point, I wouldn't be mad if Apple released a new iPhone every two years but with some real changes. They are not leaving any reason to buy a new iPhone..

The overheating is the main issue that I have faced in the iPhone 15 Pro even after the latest update; sometimes it gets hot to a stage where I can't even hold it normally. So please compare the 16 Pro for the same, and battery as well.
Experiencing the overheating as well but was also curious if you are any happy with the battery life? With the 15 Pro I was expecting for it to hold for 2 days easily but that was possible for maybe the first week??? Now I catch myself charging during the day which is what I did with my previous iPhone 11 that had a completely dead battery. Maybe I overestimated the capabilities?

That !BUTTON! reminds me of those fingerprint readers we had on some older phones. I think my honor 8 back then had one on the back that was a finger print reader, a button and a touch pad. I really loved using it to scroll through notifications and open the camera. It was such a smart think you take the phone out of the pocket, and while you pull it out you could easily already unlock it through fingerprint and then swipe down and you had your notifications on the screen all in one smooth motion. And checking notifications is literally one of the things you do the most on a phone.
I love how there's just a Pixel Fold on the right the whole time. Hahahaha

@@nohigherbeing Its the other way around for me, touch ID was always working, FaceId fails sometimes.
Also on my iPhone XS and 11 Pro - both fine machines with nothing wrong with 'em - FaceID broke. Turns out there's a microscopic crystal in that laser and that crystal breaks over time. One broke from getting water in it, the one in the XS seemingly for no reason at all. I hadn't even used that phone for a year.
Anyway I feel TouchID isa lot more robust. Also they can just put it behind the screen, if Google can do it, Apple can do it too.
It feels good knowing that I didn’t miss anything by upgrading to the 15 Pro last year. Also, RIP to branding random appliances as Apple products now that the stickers are gone. My Apple rice cooker and Apple tea kettle will be all alone forever now.
Marques is known for not shying away from the tough critiques when products fail, so I KNOW some dbrand folks were holding their breath during that entire ad section. 😂 Well done, dbrand!

Yeah that install never goes smoothly for me. That’s why I’d rather just pay Best Buy $8 to install it. If they mess it up or even have bubbles they’ll get a new one off the shelf and do it again.

I don’t think it’s fair to underestimate the improvements made to the screens, CPUs, cameras and overall performance that has been made when compared to something like the 12.

It has an extra camera button, faster processor, and more memory, better cameras, better screen. It doesn’t really need to have some kind of crazy new feature to just be a simple upgrade. I’m still on the 13, so the 16 is a decent upgrade.

Still using iPhone 13 my mom gave me last year when she got her iPhone 14 Pro and it works perfectly for me, no glitches, no noticeable battery issues.
Even then, you can swap the battery at an Apple Store or Premium Reseller.
@@gs7828Hell, you can even just install the battery yourself nowadays. iOS 18 changed how parts verification is done to where you can start the process yourself after swapping parts without having to contact Apple Support to get that going.
AFAIK that was done to further minimize iPhones being successfully stolen and harvested for parts as they’ll be locked to an Apple ID/Account now.
