Of course he’s going to give it tons of positives. The Samsung phone in the United States has no other android competitors. It’s the only premium Android sold in the United States. He’s not comparing it to the iPhone. Which he absolutely prefers over this device.
never believe marketing until it happens i’ll just pretend thats not a feature. How many such promises have google broken? How many promises has samsung broken? Buy something for what it is today, not 7 years from now. No one will be using these phones 7 years from now anyway, it is designed to be obsolete long before then
Well done Google* “Titanium is only applied on the device frame. Frame does not include volume and side keys.” 🤣 Galaxy AI is just Samsung’s cheap marketing; it doesn’t actually exist. Samsung uses Google Gemini and Google Cloud with features developed by Google.
@@haroldk724 I hate screen protectors. Haven't used any in probably 7 years, and I've only gotten one small scratch that is only barely visible when the screen is off and there's a light shining on it at an angle. This is probably the first phone review from MKBHD I've watched, where he doesn't mention anything he doesn't like about the phone. This phone is great!!
Smartphones are pretty much at the top of their game. Great cameras, screens, fast chips, lots of features. It’s hard to imagine how it gets much better😂

Oh damn. Going ahead and making decisions based on what other people think and not based on what you as a person wants outta a phone is an amazing character to have dawg.
Man hearing Marques give such an overwhelmingly positive review of a Samsung phone feels like a rarity. Glad i waited for this phone! Nice review as always!

@@Kingkeem305 yep and it was surprisingly easy! There's an app that's incredibly easy to use. I also realized I used way more Google services even on an iPhone, Gmail, Google docs, etc, so it was a really easy move.
I'm with Samsung since the note 4 . Maybe iPhone users don't notice it but there s something on iPhones that no other phone can duplicate . The software response to the touch . Typing or scrolling down just feels unique . Small thing but huge difference
Kudos to Samsung for getting rid of curved screen on their ultra model. Samsung has cone a long way in terms of software. I recall the touchwiz days. Literally had to flash custom rooms like Cyanogen mods. Only thing I miss from old phones are the removable batteries and expandable storage.
Yeah i recall the touchwiz, it really was the worst thing.. i remembered asking my friends to avoid samsung because of that. Now when asked what android phone to recommend, i always go to samsung
Google is way way behind in hardware, the only perk is a more slimmed natove Android OS. Galaxy series has been the most bang for buck always. If you just want to throw away money and are used to Icloud and iphone UI, then you probably won't be able to use an Android. Because Android is like windows/Linux for PC, you have settings for basically everything! And you can do anything with it!
You basically just confirmed all the reasons I've been buying the Note and now the S Ultra series phones from Samsung. They're not cheap, but the amount of things on tap that are done either extremely well or well enough that it all adds up being worth the cost to me. Also, as an artist and someone who likes to handwrite, the SPen is incredibly useful and fun. No other phone even has this feature close to this level of refinement so I'd honestly buy the phone just for that if I had to.
Yeah, that S Pen is a total game changer for me. I don't even use it to write/draw that much, but the extra precision when using something like a photo editor and other apps is just absolutely amazing. I don't think I would ever want to go back to any phone that doesn't have it now.
I've been with galaxy, since the note 3. I've settled with note 9, for great sound! I've bought another 9, when the other broke, and I will stay with the note 9. Sound quality is great. I understand that that won't be around forever. How does this SOUND?
I came back to this video now that I have finally converted from iphone 14 pro max to the S24 ultra. Not gonna lie this change was worth it. The phone is so stinking good. I'm loving it WAY more then ANY apple i've ever owned. I was apple since the 4.

Idk for me i still think it sucks, there's some good apps out there like picsart and canva that can easily do all that plus more like changing ppls outfits, hairstyles generating anything , apps like that are awesome. This is the most basic thing in editing apps im kinda disappointed with ths Samsungs ai.
Well, it's all about how you see it. I totally get where you're coming from, but there are folks like me who aren't keen on spending time or effort on downloading extra apps for this stuff. Personally, as long as it's easy to use, I think this tool is great for editing.@@Bb42023
He did praise it a lot. I do wish he’d have included more comparisons in terms of tested specs vs competitors, but that would 1) withdraw from the allure of said phone… and 2) detract from the experience for people who were already going to buy this phone anyway. I think it would be ideal for him to acknowledge point 2 and then (if there’s money on the backend for him from Samsung) do a spec comparison oriented video after this one. He almost has to to remain relevant in the long run, if he abandons logic then he’ll ultimately be replaced for sure (hopefully, and in a general sense, people ignoring the logic in what they submit to viewers will be ignored…)
Absolute monster of a phone. Mine just arrived mid-January. Owned Samsung from almost the beginning of Smartphones. I also always loved windows integration on Android phones that you plug your phone into computer and it shows as a normal extra drive.. still exploring all ai features...
That Windows thing where it is showed basically as another device or storage and gives you freedom to use it for everything it's just very much missed in iOs. I changed to iphone just now and what a limited device 🤦♂️

@@tomasvircik3742well Apple wants you in the ecosystem. Love it or hate it it does have strengths and it’s taken a long while for windows and android to match the features apple users have enjoyed for over a decade: air drop, continuity, handoff, phone camera used as laptop camera or for presentations etc. And even though those features can be replicated I still find Windows and android limited in how simple and seemless it is with the Apple ecosystem.
@@tomasvircik3742I hear you. You have to buy into the Apple ecosystem completely to reap the benefits of the iPhone. If you already have a Windows computer (and nothing else), an android is a no brainer. If you own a MacBook, iPad, AirPods, Apple Watch, HomePod, Apple TV, etc…the iPhone is way more alluring and works seamlessly with those devices. Much harder decision. I’ll be honest, I came by most of those devices without phone considerations. I’ve been with MacOS since 2006, iPad since 2nd Gen, and AirPods since inception. It’s much harder for me to switch to android these days because I lose so much. Granted, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is such a do it all phone that I could perhaps replace my iPad with it. But I won’t be switching to Windows anytime soon, so I would miss having my messages on both PC and Phone and having airdrop between them.

I thought I would've hated the flat display when I heard about it , but the way Samsung implemented it makes me fall in love with it. The slightly rounded sides makes it so comfortable to hold.
Worth the wait. I hate that other tech reviewers rushed their so called “review” just for the views while taking advantage of the buzz created by Samsung. I like that MKBHD took his time to give us real and quality “review”. There’s levels to this and I can say MKBHD is at the top.

That’s it. Chinese brands currently are delivering much better phones for cheaper. Oppo find x7 ultra, Honor magic 6 pro, OnePlus 12, vivo x100 pro…I wonder why only small RUclipsrs are saying the truth about the new s24 series… nowadays people prefer to be on the good list of big brands instead of saying the real truth

I've had the S22 Ultra since a few months after it came out, and it's still going strong, but I'm actually compelled to get the 24. One of my favorite things about my S22 Ultra is the zoom on it. I actually just use the view finder like binoculars all the time because the zoom is so insane and stable. I really thought I could hold off on an upgrade for longer than this, but the S24 Ultra is just so much better, and the flat screen just makes it perfect
I was in the same situation as you. I had the s22 ultra as well and the feeling of the s24 ultra is so nice. If I were you I'd make he upgrade it's very worth it imo
Heck I'm still sittin' on the 21 Ultra with zero complaints. the 24 is TEMPTING but I can't justify the price for "it's new." I, personally, wouldn't be getting 1300 bucks worth of stuff out of it.
Don't do it. If you yet a dud line one that won't charge, Samsung won't exchange it and will make you return phone, then lose it and won't give a refund. You will be on the phone for weeks with customer service trying to speak to someone you can actually understand and if you are lucky, might break even. I'm considering waiting for googles foldable soley based on Samsung's customer service.
The Samsung S24 Ultra seems like a game-changer with its impressive features and long-term support. Excited to upgrade and experience it myself! Great review as always, Marques!
I hope he shows the differences and advantages of Circle to Search compared to Google Assistant Screen Search. As far as I can tell from personal testing, it's literally just a rebranded feature with a tap and hold activation (circle to search) instead of a swipe and tap activation (Assistant Screen search)
That's the major point for me in a smartphone, because i use the smartphone until it dies (i still use a Samsung Note 9). Support is very important when you stick with the same phone for so long, so, this will be a huge upgrade for me.
7 years of support, but battery will bubble up like in any other Samsung phone I owned. 2 years and the battery starts to become a major problem with Samsung. Never had battery problems with any other phone brand :/.
I dont know about the U.S. But here in the UK they're offering all of the following on each purchase: £100 discount, free upgrade to 512GB, 1yr disney+, 3 months accidental cover, £30 store credit.
I am a Pixel 8 Pro user and when S24 dropped and I saw all the AI features, the first thing I felt was as if this was a Pixel phone on a Samsung Hardware. I was surprised that nobody really mentioned about in the first impression videos! Happy to know that you felt it. Would love to see a video on how Google and Samsung is coming together. Throwback to the Nexus days!
It'll take a lot to get me to move from Pixel. I do love that Samsung and Google are working together to further Android. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is what saved Wear OS.
A very HUGE con of Samsung Galaxy phones is that their screens will go bonk pink liine, green lines, lines, after 2 years + of use, it happened with all my Flagship Samsung, now I wonder if I should contiinue getting these phones since they cost a few ks, I need to last as long, not making the screen damaged and we need to keep changing them.
I ordered the S24+ and am very excited for it. Hobestly price aside, the only things I like more about the Ultra is the 5x telephoto, and the much better Gorilla Glass (anti reflective, and very scratch resistant). Otherwise I'm very excited for the S24+, and prefer the slightly smaller size with rounded corners.
It's not often I get to use the same device Marques drops a review on. Got my S24U couple of days back and the other alternative I considered was Pixel 8 pro. I loved the fact that Google and Samsung joined hands on this, especially at the AI on edge computing paradigm we are embarking on now. Phone is incredible, love that the AI features are not in your face but just there. Integrated as if they were always there. Great video as usual and ya, that video on Google+Samsung against the world is worth exploring. And I think this collaboration could go beyond phones as well, like Google TV on Samsung TVs.
It makes no sense for samsung to offer these AI features just for 2 years, considering that they expect us to use their phones for longer, now that they are offering 7 years of updates. Paying subscription for smart features on a smartphone in a world where we already pay plenty of money for other subscription services makes no sense
@TheReturnOfJMVEntertainment they should if samsung screws it up. but for now it feels like the brand has gained a much better understanding of what consumers want and appreciate. They've always had good hardware and software but now all the small little details are refined and packaged into a neat and sleek design (which is what you need to beat apple)
The synergy between Google and Samsung is welcome and will make things better for every android consumer. The one thing I would like to see is feature drops on Samsungs like Google does with the Pixels and give more attention to older models. The S23 getting these AI features is a step in the right direction. Another thing everyone seems to overlook about Pixels is that their purpose is also to push other manufacturers to make their OS experience better and simpler for their users. I think this is evident with Samsung's recent One UI updates.
Got the base S24 two days ago (I had a S20FE before) and am having fun with all the features. The AI autocorrection is especially helpful to me as a non-native English speaker (the feature is also used for this text). And those seven years of updates are tempting.

What I absolutely loved that Samsung is doing. Is that they are keeping their designs for longer. I mean they are changing something's. But for the most part they're building on what was already good. In previous years Samsung would drastically change the design and look of their phones from year to year. Samsung is taking the play it safe route that Apple is doing. And they're building upon that. Making everything a lot better. And it seems that people love this route. I think Samsung is growing as a company then they are taking notes from Apple. And Apple is taking notes from Samsung. But they're not drastically changing the design every year like they used to. They're keeping a similar design and tweaking it. I went on to the Samsung store to look at what they have but I'm going to wait on ordering because any of the colors that I want are completely sold out right now. So I'm okay with waiting
Finally back to flat displays. I never liked the curved screens that had inconsistent viewing experiences near the edge. Also THANK YOU SAMSUNG for adding a good anti reflective coating. Most underrated feature.
I have the s9, which has a curved screen. The viewing experience doesn't bother me, but the touch sensitivity drops almost completely off at the edges. Very irritating when gaming.
Yes! Also, you can't find good glass screen protectors when the screen's curved. I have been wanted them to make some flat screens ever since they started. The curved screens always felt like a gimmick
It comes out to 1.11 per day. Just saying, plus you don't have to get a new one I have had my phone for 6 years, only replaced the battery once and have not dropped it.
Very nice review, thanks for it. The only thing I don't understand why doesn't get much reviewers attention is "samsung dex". To me, it is the perfect "on-the-go" laptop replacement. Kids stuck in the iphone vs galaxy internet war don’t understand that both phones are amazing at what they do and you want them to be, because competition is the best thing for us consumers.

I think it would be ideal for him to acknowledge point 2 and then (if there’s money on the backend for him from Samsung) do a spec comparison oriented video after this one.
Have you finished using all the features in the S22? 😏
I have s9+ an its as strong as new , only downside is battery I have to replace it every two years or so
The Samsung S24 Ultra seems like a game-changer with its impressive features and long-term support.

They can change that at any moment
@CodiakLBJfan ofc they can. It is written in the user agreement 😆
But let's see what happens 🙂
Beautifull well done
That's the major point for me in a smartphone, because i use the smartphone until it dies (i still use a Samsung Note 9). Support is very important when you stick with the same phone for so long, so, this will be a huge upgrade for me.
7 years of support, but battery will bubble up like in any other Samsung phone I owned. 2 years and the battery starts to become a major problem with Samsung. Never had battery problems with any other phone brand :/.
Love how he uses his '5 pillers of a smartphone' in this review. Always a new approach with it.

@hoihoi9866Doesn't have the same affect when you don't have the reach... and not eveyone is a content creator.
Second you on that. 100% my first impression also. Talked to a friend and he also saw it
It'll take a lot to get me to move from Pixel. I do love that Samsung and Google are working together to further Android. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is what saved Wear OS.
I used to be a Pixel user, but since I switched to Samsung, I can't imagine using any other brand.
Piss All Sucks....Samsung has some GOO GOO features Piss Alls haven't gotten yet
If you don't use stylus that's better choice
Exynos is and always will be a scam.
The S24+ looks awesome but why not get the Vivo X100 Pro?
Ikr. I don't know why the base models get little to no attention
I love the Vivo X100 Pro, but after using an S24+ in person, the overall build and material feels much much better.@@oliversettle8722
I’ve owned iPhones for the last 8yrs, I’m currently on day 2 with my S24 Ultra and I absolutely love it. It’s fantastic.
Wait until you discover Samsung's Good Lock app

The synergy between Google and Samsung is welcome and will make things better for every android consumer. The one thing I would like to see is feature drops on Samsungs like Google does with the Pixels and give more attention to older models. The S23 getting these AI features is a step in the right direction. Another thing everyone seems to overlook about Pixels is that their purpose is also to push other manufacturers to make their OS experience better and simpler for their users. I think this is evident with Samsung's recent One UI updates.
I believe the AI features come from the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. I think it would be hard to port over to older phones.
Got the base S24 two days ago (I had a S20FE before) and am having fun with all the features. The AI autocorrection is especially helpful to me as a non-native English speaker (the feature is also used for this text). And those seven years of updates are tempting.
You already got it!? Isn't it launching 31st?
I upgraded to the s23u from my s20fe a week before the s24 released. Unlucky me I guess but I'm loving the s23u so far
@indianpovcanada2462 I have no clue when it's officially launched, but my ISP sent it out on the 23rd, and it arrived on the 24th. Although I'm in Europe, I got the Exynos version.
