We had Directv for several years and liked it. It was easy to maneuver around channels and the remote was good.
Then we changed to AT&T U-Verse only because it was cheaper. Big mistake! We had it for only 3 days and sent it
back. Even the remote was crap. It had very small gray letters on a black background so you had to get out a magnifying
glass to read it. Sometimes it took 4 clicks to do something when the Directv took only one. U-Verse was probably designed
by a bunch of teenagers. If you have Directv . . . keep it!
Mr.CaliforniaGuy don’t go back because AT&T has messed Direct TV up big time! Got to Dish believe me we switched to Direct and boy what a mistake! I had Direct back 5 years ago they was awesome and I thought that was what I was going back to but No! AT&T has tweaked the hole system. It’s a joke now
I wish I would've read this before now. We kept U-Verse 7 days...redzone had my family pissed off Sunday. Back to Directv we go. I'm glad I hadn't cancelled our Directv so it wasn't a hassle.

It seems like, whenever a DirectTV DVR box malfunctions, the television unit that it's connected to, begins to malfunction with it, until it just won't turn on (especially since the new interface update). It took me replacing my television a couple of times, for me to begin making the correlation.
Unless DirectTV has it in writing that they will replace all television units that no longer power on, after being connected to their DVR, I will never take the risk of signing up with DirectTV, ever again! Now, I'm concerned about the cost of having to replace my privately-owned, really expensive, large-screen, high-definition, television units, AGAIN! It seems like the cost of DirectTV is WAY more than what we are billed for.
I wish that I ONLY had a billing issue with them, because this is a whole new level of being screwed by AT&T.

Direct TV uses dish while U-verse uses internet. If you live far out of the city we advise to get the dish network instead. We have customers who have both though. U-verse no longer offer a contract.
