I jacked with it for hours, until 5:00 am, because I can't stand when I'm paying for a service, and it croaks, and I couldn't let it go. Of course there's a ton of other "fixes", with either losing everything, or having a technician come out, etc. I tried your solution, and the first time it worked! Didn't lose anything, and we're watching TV again! HUGE thanks man, HUGE THANKS indeed! 🤘😎

This worked for me and I did not lose all my recordings. "To avoid losing your saved programs, perform the Non-Disaster Recovery for DVR/Receivers: 1. Unplug the receiver or DVR power cord from the wall or back of the box. 2. Wait 10 seconds. 3. Plug in the receiver and DVR. 4. When three white dots appear on the screen, unplug the receiver/DVR again. 5. Repeat this process two more times. 6. Plug the receiver/DVR back in on the third time and leave in. Three white dots appear followed by a gear with a status bar at the bottom of the screen. If the Recovery screen does not appear, repeat the steps above. If you are still experiencing issues with you DVR after that, perform a Disaster Recovery on the device."
Nice!...was on hold with tech for 30 minutes, while on hold I searched YT and came upon your video...less than 10 minutes cable was back on, I don't even mind recordings were deleted...thanks!!

When you unplug the power on the box and press the ok and down 1 minute 3 dots and 1 gear and a progress bar and 2 gears and another progress bar And the red x and gery 1
You see guys!! it is really easy to do it!! But the most of you can't do it even if we explain many times. We explain all process you have to do but not you are just upset for things that you can fix easy. And if it does not work restar the RG and then do this process on the video.
yeah i tried resolving it on my own and just turned it on and off and it was a gear and a bar filling up then the screen went to blue then it went to 2 gears and a bar filling up and the it stopped and wouldnt work so i was trying to find a video and yours was the closest one because yours is 1 and red X mine is 3 and red X anyways i did exactly what you said and it didnt work edit: plugged out hdmi and power cord and turned it off and plugged network cord out and plugged them all back in and switched it on and held ok butten and down arrow at the same time then the gear and loading bar thing came up and after it was done loading it went to blue screen and then went to two gears loadinng then went back to ❌ 3

In my appears 3 white balls, the LEDs flash 2 times and then goes to a gear on the screen and stays for a while and then goes to an X and the recording led starts flashing and does not come out of that. every time you complain to the company you can get credit on your bill. so regardless of whether you fix it report it so you can have the lack of service on record. it may give you grounds to cancel the contract. a slim chance but a chance.

My tv had the red x and 5. It went through the gear, two gear progression, ultimately still came up with the red X 5.

Doesn’t work. Plug power in, goes straight to gear and progress bar before I can press buttons. After bar finishes, it goes back to X1
