You asked to check RUclips tv and Hulu, been there, done that. They don’t have what my wife wants, which for her is a deal breaker. I have done all the comparisons. The next best thing for me would have been Fubo tv, but, they don’t offer HBO, and Starzz (deal breaker) I will stick with the decision I made (wife also had to agree to the decision)

The other streaming services you can cancel online. Have you decide to reactivate it later you can activate it online also.
That's actually technically untrue...unless they've changed their process very recently. You can do it via chat on their website. However, regardless of that, they still require you jump through a lot of hoops to cancel. Definitely frustrating vs. other services.

I intend to make the switch to DIRECTV Stream. I compared the two, looked at the channels of the package I want, and I save a good amount of money. The only thing that I will miss is the DIRECTV premier protection plan (all my tv’s were under the plan, but, I’m willing to give that up. Although I currently get NFL Sunday ticket free, it’s not a deal breaker, I watch whatever game is on through local networks. I don’t like that when you do any particular thing with DIRECTV, they enter you into a new 2 year contract. I had an opportunity to see DIRECTV Stream at a store, talked with an associate. I will make the transition in the next couple of months!
The premier plan not only covers their equipment, but, I have every tv, receiver, speaker, IPad, etc. under that plan! If you buy a new tv somewhere, they will have warranty for what, 2 to 3 years, whereas DTV covers everything that I put under that plan for as long as I have it!

My issue with streaming is, if using a Roku, you don't have a number pad to punch in channel numbers, the best you can do is save favorite channels or endlessly scroll around to find channels to watch. Very tedious, seems like taking technology in reverse unless someone has a better idea...

BOTH services are still MOSTLY under the control of AT&T, no matter what they say, and you can see it in their customer service (or lack thereof). AT&T owns at least 70% of the companies, so you can bet that they continue to HEAVILY influence the business practices of both. IMO, the best thing for the customers would be for AT&T to sell ALL of DirecTv to Dish and get out of the way. Perhaps then we would see a change in the business practices of the streaming part of the company. If not, then let them wither on the vine. JMHO :)
We're with you on those thoughts. While DTV STREAM has made *some* improvements, we're hard pressed to recommend it. We have read that there is sentiment that a merger between Dish & DTV is inevitable, at some point. It'd be interesting to see how that'd play out. But, we agree that if that doesn't happen to let them die out.

This is over a year old. Direct TV now seems to have a Satellite / Stream Service that also seems to have a 2 year price lock but maybe that is not true because there is so much fine print there might be some kind of hidden fees or hidden price increase via some kind of technical lingo.
Good question. DIRECTV STREAM is a no-contract streaming service that's separate from it's contracted satellite service. Dish Anywhere is a product that allows you to stream IF you're a Dish satellite subscriber...so you'd only be able to access it as a contracted subscriber.
I really like direct tv stream the picture quality is amazing but my only complaint is that it can only record 30 episodes per series that’s a bummer I hope that changes in the future.
I would like Bally Sports Great Lakes to watch the Cleveland Guardians but not at $90/month. In the old days we used to watch local sports on local tv and not expensive cable or direct tv stream. I wish we had a less expensive option or Bally sports as a separate app. I don’t think I’m alone on this
That's definitely an issue...sure you can get your RSN but it comes at a hefty cost. We'll see what happens when the anticipated Bally RSN. Hopefully that'll give people a legit option to get what they want and save some cash.
I have DirectTV on my place’s business plan but because I don’t have a password, I can’t sign into GO TV apps. I pay the pro rated cost for my satellite TV service instead of the full package fee. Having live TV frees me to subscribe to on demand streaming services I can’t live without.
Had directtv for two years, got up to $165/mo. My wife insisted on channel numbers, really wanted the numbers to be the same. She watches Magnolia network and hgtv and I watch the Brave's games so the ultimate package for us. Still saves us $60/mo and can watch all the channels on my laptop, unlike directtv that just shows part of their channels online. Plus it' stays on when it rains.

Are you meaning that you have DIRECTV rather than DIRECTV STREAM? The latter is their no-contract streaming option and doesn't have intro pricing. Dish is a little better, but if you can we'd highly recommend choosing a no-contract streaming service if possible.
I haven’t spoken to one avid live sports watcher that said they were comfortable cutting the cord. No matter how good and stable your internet service is there is a chance that it will buffer at the wrong time. That’s a deal breaker and kills the experience of watching live sports.

You need to tell people after the 2 years contract. You have to pay for all the boxes , including the DVR. And DIRECTV streaming now has international channels. My DIRECTV Satellite service in keep on going up. The only reason I will go with another streaming services, is they don’t have regional sports
I tried all of the service’s out there and I stuck with RUclips TV. It’s the best option plus I can share my account with 6 family members and they have there own unlimited DVR and there own library as well. So for the buck I would say RUclips TV.
I have had DIRECTV for over a decade with voice package. And every year I had to threaten to leave and I get choice package for $65 a month. 95$ off. If your loyal they will give you discounts. I eventually want to switch to some screening service for the convenience of being able to watch on multiple devices. But I can’t leave when I am getting satellite so cheap. I also bundle AT&T fiber 1000g internet for $60 a month.

Ive been on the directv combo tv/net sure dont like how they bounce around on the net part of the bundle to where you dont know whats going on. For the channels I want had to go with the choice pack and it went up over $20 from last yr to $145 for the bundle. I said enough is enough and that is why Im here trying vent plus learn the opps.
I had Directv for 15 plus years. Back last year I decided to cut the cord. I was so happy to make the call to cancel my satellite account with them. I decided to use Fubo tv and was happy until I figured out that my local MLB team games are only on Bally sports not carried by Fubo. So I stayed strong for a couple months but regrettably went to Directv stream. I could switch back to Fubo until the MLB season starts back up again but it’s a hassle since my family has content on the DVR. Also there are some NBA basketball games for my local team on Bally. I do miss the features and channels that I had on Fubo for less cost! Directv stream doesn’t have the NFL channel. That isn’t a deal breaker but for the cost per month you would think that Directv stream would offer as many channels as possible!

What do you get under that plan? Yes, that is one of the numerous frustrating things of dealing with DTV.
