What do you think DIRECTV/DIRECTV STREAM gets wrong in their service?

My biggest issue with them, is that AT&T employees know nothing about how Directv works, and vice versa. I was on the phone once over 2 hours, when I know a representative for Directv would have resolved my issue in 15 minutes, and I have experienced that first hand. I was trying to find the reply to my initial comment. The last part said something that I should do or try this. The reason I’m waiting is that before I can switch to streaming, I have to terminate my current contract!

You asked to check RUclips tv and Hulu, been there, done that. They don’t have what my wife wants, which for her is a deal breaker. I have done all the comparisons. The next best thing for me would have been Fubo tv, but, they don’t offer HBO, and Starzz (deal breaker) I will stick with the decision I made (wife also had to agree to the decision)

@@wendellwendellb339 My fear is that AT&T will ruin DirecTV satellite. I think a Dish Network merger would result in better customer service and would result in a healthier company overall since both Dish and DirecTV satellite are currently losing subscribers. I remember Consumer Reports recommending the merger many years ago as a way to be more competitive against the cable companies.

I intend to make the switch to DIRECTV Stream. I compared the two, looked at the channels of the package I want, and I save a good amount of money. The only thing that I will miss is the DIRECTV premier protection plan (all my tv’s were under the plan, but, I’m willing to give that up. Although I currently get NFL Sunday ticket free, it’s not a deal breaker, I watch whatever game is on through local networks. I don’t like that when you do any particular thing with DIRECTV, they enter you into a new 2 year contract. I had an opportunity to see DIRECTV Stream at a store, talked with an associate. BOTH services are still MOSTLY under the control of AT&T, no matter what they say, and you can see it in their customer service (or lack thereof).
AT&T owns at least 70% of the companies, so you can bet that they continue to HEAVILY influence the business practices of both.
IMO, the best thing for the customers would be for AT&T to sell ALL of DirecTv to Dish and get out of the way.
Perhaps then we would see a change in the business practices of the streaming part of the company.
If not, then let them wither on the vine.

I decided to use Fubo tv and was happy until I figured out that my local MLB team games are only on Bally sports not carried by Fubo. So I stayed strong for a couple months but regrettably went to Directv stream. I could switch back to Fubo until the MLB season starts back up again but it’s a hassle since my family has content on the DVR. Also there are some NBA basketball games for my local team on Bally. I do miss the features and channels that I had on Fubo for less cost! Directv stream doesn’t have the NFL channel.
