The reason I purched my 1st Rolex was because it was a tool watch with a history behind it.
They were made for the outdoors and that's what hooked me on tool watches 40 years ago. My Rolex and Omega went with me to the Rocky Mountains , Canadian wilderness , the deserts of Arizona and many other places. My watches have taken brutal beating and never let me down. I now live in the Pocono Mountains and would never go out in the woods without my watches. If i fogot my watch on a long hike I would literally turn around go home and get my watch There is nothing more satisfying to me than wearing my watch in the outdoors.
People check out the Steve McQueen Explorior 2, that is my holy grail watch that I will never be able to own.
this is my first rolex and I love it so much. very soon I will add Yacht master TT but explorer will be my favorite for ever. this rolex not for everyone, but 100% for me. perfect size, only time. no BS watch. every day I proud wearing this time piece. and every day love it more and more.

Hey hope you packed your coffee flask. I’m seriously thinking of trying the Explorer again and giving it a chance . If you had some sun you could use the watch as a compass, real tool watch. 👍🏻👊🏻

No, I’d want a watch with a rotating bezel to use as a compas like the Seiko Alpinist does. It could be a Rolex submariner, GMT or sea Dweller, the same trick as the alpinist can be used to find N.
