Sounds like a very cool way to watch the Bond film, very envious James and I would have jumped at the chance. 👏🥃Oh and agreed, Daniel Craig was an incredible Bond

What a great thing that Omega put on. They sure do a great job, I feel they really appreciate their customers. Love Omega, love the nerdiness and the enthusiasm of Omega collectors is just great.

That’s all very nice Omega doing all that for you but my local Rolex AD looked me up and down as I walk in and just stopped short of telling me to F off when I asked about possibly buying one of their watches. That’s how you treat people 🤣

Fantastically explained - love this watch.

We were invited to a screening in Manchester two weeks ago. Didn't have to dress up but free food and drink. Bought the watch a week later at my usual OB in the Trafford Center. Fantastic experience have bought several watches from them over the years and wouldn't shop anywhere else. Great video. I bought the NATO version as it's light enough to wear on the NATO and the bracelet just didn't fit good enough on me.

Great story, I love a bit of bond! I like the watch but £7,880 for a Seamaster 300m is a lot of money. The main thing is you like it so that’s all that matters 👍

Spot on comment about “watch valuation” collectors. I have Omega watches, Rolex watches and other brands, every watch bought with the same enthusiasm and a sense of gratitude for being able to have this hobby. I have a few friends who buy watches like they are buying stocks. They are not watch enthusiasts, don’t know a thing about the watches they are buying, no admiration for the timepieces expect for looks and value. But hey, everyone is entitled to spend their money as they see it. You have a great channel, really insightful. Cheers

Good that you enjoyed the night out with Omega at the movie. I know I would have too ! I loved that watch at sight, I knew I had to have it. I have tried and ordered that watch. I would have loved if they had put the Aqua Terra Ultra Light calibre in that one... or perhaps a future edition. I would not be too happy if the bezel insert was scratching, I would get it replaced. And yes, barracudas can be attracted by shiny stuff, that's correct, best is rubber straps.

It impressed me a lot in-person but the bracelet didn’t work on my small wrist. It’s such a common problem that Omega now offers an exchange program that allows you to swap the standard size mesh for a smaller one. My AD tried to sell me on that.

Can someone give me perspective? I don’t have an Omega and I would like to buy one. I want a watch that not only I can hand down to my kids but that they would happily want to wear. I want a watch that is desirable into the future.
    The watches I like are:
    1. Seamaster No Time to die. I like the seamaster because it is modern and it doesn’t copy any other style. I like the tropical dusty colours on it and I think the strap is stunning in titanium. The strap is as good as the watch and is as good a strap as I have seen on any watch. This is a blingy watch without the bling. This version is better than the other 60th Anniversary bond watch.
On the other hand I hate the bond references on it. Omega didnt need to do this. The watch can stand on it own. I presume at some stage this watch will be discontinued and enough people will lust after it to make it desirable.
    2. Speedmaster 57 with tropical dial (the discontinued model with 9300 movement). I love the sandwich dial and broad arrow hands. I have tried the newer smaller version but the writing in the tachymeter is very small, faint and hard to read.
The problem with this watch I don’t know how it will be regarded in the future when the original had three sub-dials and this watch is 16mm thick. It appears that long term the 57 editions don’t do so well in the eyes of collectors. There are a lot of new/unworn watches on Chrono24.
    3. New Speedmaster professional with Saphire Crystal. It’s a classic but I suppose you will always be able to buy this watch into the future. I prefer to avoid scratching my watch and the Sapphire crystal will give me the best chance at doing this.
    4. A Speedmaster 57 replica from 1998-2003 era with 1860 movement. It has three subdials, broad arrow hands, tritium lume. It looks cool and is as close to the original as I can get.
The negatives are that it has a hesalite crystal which is more likely to scratch, it is an older watch and will require a lot more maintenance and again it appears to be an unloved model. The are a couple of these watches on ebay that I see just sit there for months and no one wants to buy them. Maybe in the future they will be more sought after.
Any thoughts on what way I should go.
PS. I passed up an opportunity to buy an Ed White at a recent auction. I wore it and I liked it and even though it is hand made and impossible to buy I could not see the justification for paying double the price for this watch over a speedy professional. I think the current speedy professional is a fantastic watch and is as good as it gets. It has a good enough movement and the wrist band has gone back to the classic look which I like.

If Omega did a version without the faux patina, on stainless steel and of course no date a little bit smaller. I be on board but the Seamaster I would go for would be the 41mm Seamaster without the helium escape valve and white lume. Right now I have the Railmaster. You're absolutely 💯 correct there are assholes in every watch brand. I don't know why only Rolex usually gets the asshole label

@@lonewolfemcquade8133 well I do have a bi metal Yachtmaster, and batgirl, plus a gold Oyster, and several other watches gold top Omega Dynamic, bi- metal constellation, I’ve been offered two submariners, turned one down in favour of the batgirl. But I have asked for another submariner and Daytona, but will have to see what happens.

@@davidhindle594chemicalman Nice collection 👌 I have a the Explorer ,a Breitling Super ocean and a Omega Railmaster right now. I just hope 1 day it will be easier to get a Submariner no date at retail. Back in 07 when I bought my Explorer it was NOTHING LIKE IT IS TODAY I should have got the Sub then but at least I got the Explorer. I refuse to play this terrible AD games. With having to buy 4 or 5 watches I don't need I'm not putting myself in debt over a watch. I guess time will tell but it doesn't look good 😕

This watch is a failure (I tried it):
    - too much faux patina
    - military logo on a spy watch
    - the mesh bracelet is à nightmare (absolutly unconfortable and too thick for à 17cm wirst!)
    And I own few oméga.
    - and the price (to wear it with a nato since the mesh is out of subject!)
Guys don t listen only to this vidéo before buying it: just très it before!
Ps: how much did you buy it? Retail price or cheaper? ☺
