The Initial D question is so infuriating because it goes on a technicality. So Bunta is Takumi's father. And the car that Takumi drives (A Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86) belongs to... Bunta (for most of the series). And it's established that Bunta was once upon a time a street racer who raced in that exact car. BUT, we never actually see him race anyone during the show's runtime. We see him take the 86 for some test laps, but those aren't really technically races. The car he actually ends up using in the series is a Subaru Impreza, though he never actually races anyone in the series proper (I guess he technically once raced Takumi, but that barely counted). So yeah. The question sucks because it's REALLY splitting hairs, and all of them technically raced in Toyotas.

The Initial D question is so infuriating because it goes on a technicality.
So Bunta is Takumi's father. And the car that Takumi drives (A Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86) belongs to... Bunta (for most of the series). And it's established that Bunta was once upon a time a street racer who raced in that exact car.
BUT, we never actually see him race anyone during the show's runtime. We see him take the 86 for some test laps, but those aren't really technically races. The car he actually ends up using in the series is a Subaru Impreza, though he never actually races anyone in the series proper (I guess he technically once raced Takumi, but that barely counted).
So yeah. The question sucks because it's REALLY splitting hairs, and all of them technically raced in Toyotas.

I have never seen either an initial nor a D, but from what I understand of your comment, there's wiggle room to debate that the Toyota Bunta lent to his son was raced by him, but it's never officially stated or seen on screen? Kind of a "well it would make logical sense" thing?

Meanwhile, one of the other answers in this question, Itsuki, does own a Toyota Carolla Levin AE85, but we basically never see him race it. There's one scene where he arguably gets drawn into an impromptu street race, but it's informal and is over in a few minutes. So there's also room to argue that, if we're only counting people that RACED a Toyota, that Itsuki might not even count himself.
