    Stay tuned for our full let's play hitting the channel soon! Thanks so much to Stephen from Vanguard Tactics for hosting us and teaching us through the new edition. Comment below who you think will win, Space Marines or Tyranids? 🐛

      40k has never been kind to tyranids; edition after edition they've always been very easy to shoot out of the table, and this has been their fate thus far in every Leviathan set battle report I've seen thus far. And since they're my favourites, I'm crossing my fingers and hoping they get a good meal and a happy ending this one time! (Sorry Maddie!)

      High my oldest boy is 8 and has severe special needs, I have just got him onto the necrons and I'm playing DG, I have made a very stylised game, I was wondering if might be able to help me introduce more rules so he gets a better experience thank you

      I've always heard in passing about the expansive lore of Warhammer and was pretty impressed by it, I just never happened to really get into the game. In part because the focus on mini collection makes it sound like a rather expensive hobby for someone who prefers the "role playing" part of role playing games. Which brings me to my question: Do you think it is possible or reasonable to play this (or really any) edition of 40K as a theatre of the mind type game or would you say the minis, battle map, and so forth are an indispensible part of the game experience?

    • @GarmrKiDar
      @GarmrKiDar Год назад +2

      @@sourwitch2340 You can't really play the wargame in a theatre of the mind fashion, but there are several 40k TTRPGs perfect for that!

      Yes I have a question. If you spend a command point to reroll an advanced movement action do you get to choose the higher roll or do you have to do the 2nd roll even if it's lower.

      agreed. I always found Warhammer a little overwhelming in... every aspect. and I think this video gave me an introduction that finally didn't make me go "what is even happening to my brain right now I lost you at blood god"

    Okay, gonna say Tyranids this time, but only because I know Space Marine 2 is coming out and so that will set up a heck of a rematch fight.
    Been so spectacularly excited for 10th ed for a while. Between some of my favorite characters getting upgrades, and one of my all-time favorite characters being brought from the Horus Heresy into the modern game, I’m excited to get back into it! Also this video was a delight and a great chance to catch up on the new rules changes! Now if anyone needs me I’m going to go finish my Chaos army!

    But did you ask where you could get a table like that?

    • @dicebreaker
      @dicebreaker  Год назад +3

      We did! Ikea kitchen islands put together somehow make the best table for gaming

    • @GarmrKiDar
      @GarmrKiDar Год назад

      My recommendation would be to make two custom Ikea tables, each with a Lagkapten or Malvakt board of the sizes you need and four Adils legs. In my particular case I'm going to go for two 120x80cm tables, which can be put together into a 120x160 wargaming table, for very very cheap.

    “I might use my command point to reroll my fight after death ability”
    “Actually you can’t do that, but you could use it on attacks or saves”
    *rolls horribly on attack*
    *doesn’t reroll it with the command point that he was considering spending anyway*
    I know it’s not a pro tour battle report or anything like that but it was right there.

    • @GarmrKiDar
      @GarmrKiDar Год назад +4

      well, it's not the same value per point. Spending a CP to reroll a failed attack means you can maybe get one more hit at the cost of a CP. Spending a CP to reroll that ability, if that had been an option, would have meant having the chance to make all those attacks in the first place.

      Think of it as DnD on a battle map except you're controlling a bunch of guys, not just one character, and every time someone hits you, you get to make an ability check to not get hit. That's wargaming, really, a very structured story of a combat encounter in DnD.

    I'm sorry, but this is terribly boring and long to watch. It feels like the guys are overplaying and enjoying every little thing, but not the game. The video about the rule is shot according to the formula of every five minutes 10% useful information and 90% stupid childish jokes.
