The Rules are explained nicely and all that, but I have to praise the production value. lighting, location, sound, music down to the additional Info and script on how you three do move and act, everything is so damn nicely done. Love the video and work you put into it.
@@VanguardTactics seconded all the praise but if possible showing the actual dice rolls with a gopro cam view or smth would be a fantastic next step. it helps to actually see the dice rolled and how they get pulled on success v fail. for a new player at least. As someone who has never played and is super interested, this is really helpful. I definitely need to "have a go" somewhere, but this means I won't be walking in blind.
Have watched a ton of "how to play" videos and this one is hands down the most concise and easy to understand one I've watched. I actually feel confident I could play the game now. Phenomenal work on every facet.
FINALLY!!! Oh my goodness I was going crazy. Finally a tutorial that actually starts with an OUTLINE!!!!! It’s standard practice to start with an outline for a reason… IT WORKS. People need the broad view before diving into the details. Every other guide plunges straight into details with no reference of where or why… simply because they skip the outline. Without the general knowledge of the whole picture, you instantly feel overwhelmed. Anyways, rant over. Sub like all that goodness. Thank you!
You folks did great on this one. Love the rented studio, and how you brought all the rules to life. Mega props to Mr. Box for being so quick on the commentary and keeping the energy going for such a huge amount of content. The toss @35:08 was hilarious too. Awesome!

That little step at the start made me chuckle. Jokes aside I really like the camera setup ! The board is very nice, and I like that blue light coming from Stephen's body - I don't know how he does it but the effect is really neat.
Thank you mate, we really appreciate the feedback, the blue light was from a lighting setup we had behind Steve, or just Steves aura which ever you wish to believe ;)
Great walkthrough, really high end production. I would how ever, wish for a clearer dice view. Either above the dice tray in a small screen, or simply showing the roll of the dice in the corner.
Style and Substance! This video was well shot, the models and scenery looked great, and you did a great job of introducing what's going on in 10th Edition. Thank you!

So many “how to play” that just read the words right out of the rule book. This was great being able to actually see how stuff works and how turns work. Great job!!!

Please, correct me if I am wrong here.., (11:31) the Blast rule as described by Stephen sounds incorrect. "5 models in the enemy unit. So, we got a unit of 5 so each of these barbgants will shoot one more shot each so now that is going to be a total of 17 shots. 14+3/17" I believe it is +1 additional shot per the shooting unit. Not model. Meaning that you would net a max total of +1 per 5 enemy units. So, in this case you would only make 15 shots. Not 17. This is how I've seen it portrayed across the majority of other RUclipsr's content. Masterful production and great presentation you guys. Love it! =D
I really appreciate this video. It made most of the basics clear to me and now I can't wait to build an army and play. Thank you for the hard work everyone.
Really good video! Thank you for your work! The only thing I’d have done to make it even better is changing the camera to show the board at all times, always highlighting which unit the presenter guy is talking about and showing the datasheets of the units when they are shooting/fighting, highlighting what to check on the datasheets at which point.
Very good video. One of the best, if not the best, tutorials of the game I have watched. Even answered questions I had that other tutorial videos didn't. Thank you. Great production as well.
Late to vidoe and the channel. But found you theough your interview with DiceBreaker. You're gaming ethos is exactly what we need. Im not a competitive player but the video showed what you were about. Aim is to Win, the point is to have fun. 😁
This was exactly what i needed! a detailed explanation of what happens in each round how distances work with engagement and all, how the dmg works and is allocated to models and i can't stress enough how good of an informational video this was, i enjoyed it way too much and i will be playing it again to learn more and more so by the time i get my army done i will be able to play against my long time friend who has a 5000 points necrons army waiting to be annihilated by my Tyranids! thanks again for this super nice informative video and i hope more are following, this is exactly what beginners like me need and want. I bought the leviathan box and have been painting but have not yet played. Will watch this through a few more times to try and get head around it all. It would help if you showed the cards for the various squads and highlighted the values being used and the special rules if you really targeted total beginners like myself. Trying to page back and forth through the massive book to follow along means I either focus on the book or on the info you are giving. Just a suggestion, I'm sure it simplifies pretty quickly once your following the data but that first step to confident understanding is a really large leap. Still very appreciated and the best guidance so far.
this video is hands down the best how to video i've ever watched. the music in the background is a little distracting to me with just how high energy it is so i had to rewatch some sections a lot to process everything
Great video! My wife and I are brand new to 40K and tried playing with our Thousand Sons and Aeldari Combat Patrol boxes last night. Is it just an odd learning curve to figure out what weapons individual models have, how to remember who shoots what before rolling any dice etc? It seems very daunting as new players, even coming from playing a ton of advanced board games, to have to decide what to glue on a model, then what that model specifically has, and if we say "oh this model has X instead" how do we remember between my 6 Windriders, as they die which had which weapon? I'm sure most things are figured out with experience and play time but it seems very daunting as new players to have to reference the back of the manual of the combat patrol for what a weapon even is exactly, especially my Wraithlord having potentially 2 different arm-mounted weapons, 2 different shoulder-mounted and what's in his hands?
This was a fantastic video! I had my first game the other day and I wish I watched this first. But overall I had an absolute blast, and cannot wait to get more games in! Keep up the fantastic work!
Ater watching the interview with Peachy, I'll be paying a lot more attention. Stephen you did a great job on that show and it really raised my interest and opinion significantly. Great job, m8.

Great video. I bought my first models recently. Having a blast at butchering the painting XD. I know Im not gonna play with them because theres probably noone in a 100km radius that plays this game in my part of the world but still. I watched this and tabletop videos on how to play and it looks very hard for new players. Barrier of entry is extremely high. Not only you have to spend few hundrets of dollars for an army, you need to assembly and paint them, you need to find some1 as crazy as you that lives near you and wants to play. And then on to off that you need to know core rules and all of the faction rules, and that is a few dozen of years of knowledge
honestly felt like steve didnt take a breath in between talking for 50mins, I get that you edited it together but it seemed fast for alot of knowledge about the game. Thankfully im an avid player of the previous editions, apart from this greatly produced video.
Great vid, really helpful. Only point of confusion was deepstrike. I can’t find anywhere in core rules, commentary or dataslate, that this only functions from turn 2. For strategic reserves yes, but not from deepstrikes. Please can you point me to where this rule was updated, cheers.
Amazing video. Finally getting into 40k with the levi box. I have white scar primer and considering this same paint scheme. Grateful on any tips on how to shade or layer anything, i guess small doses of nuln oil in the recesses and black legion contrast paint for the black parts? All the best!
My only request is maybe more slow panning shots of the models as attack rolls are occurring ... maybe some kinda visual overlay to show the dice roll results + damage? I know that's a lot of post production work but it would be awesome to see someday!
The Rules are explained nicely and all that, but I have to praise the production value. lighting, location, sound, music down to the additional Info and script on how you three do move and act, everything is so damn nicely done. Love the video and work you put into it.

I really like the paint job on the space marines. I would love to see a how to video on how you painted them. White always gives me trouble.
I've seen people just prime in white! Or if you're feeling slapchoppy you can prime in black then drybrush a heavy layer of white over it too!
Light grey with a bit of white in it. Thin layers twice. Use pure white to sparingly highlight. Can also drybrush white on lit surfaces. Enjoy!

Who needs to breath when you have 3 lungs and 2 hearts
Great vid, really helpful. Only point of confusion was deepstrike. I can’t find anywhere in core rules, commentary or dataslate, that this only functions from turn 2. For strategic reserves yes, but not from deepstrikes. Please can you point me to where this rule was updated, cheers.
How has this channel not got more subscribers!!!
Amazing video. Finally getting into 40k with the levi box. I have white scar primer and considering this same paint scheme. Grateful on any tips on how to shade or layer anything, i guess small doses of nuln oil in the recesses and black legion contrast paint for the black parts? All the best!
As a new player this was really helpful, thank you!
Super clean presentation guys, thankyou.
I can't afford the time or money to get into it, but watching this battle report made me happy.
My only request is maybe more slow panning shots of the models as attack rolls are occurring ... maybe some kinda visual overlay to show the dice roll results + damage? I know that's a lot of post production work but it would be awesome to see someday!
Good vid. But i wish there were some more images used when explaing rules.
We tried to add as much as we could with the time we had available
Thanks, instructions were clear, and the models and terrain look good, who painted them?
Thanks Mandy you legend!! It was a bunch of us who have done the VT marines but the ones in the leviathan box was myself and Steve (mostly Steve) 😂
