At least it ain't 9th edition. Also Nids sucked in every edition after 3rd up until 7th so honestly having 2 editions where they're top tier isn't especially problematic.
i suppose with tyranids its less morale and more ''how physically messed up it is'' for battle shock, and synaps being the thing that basically forces the creature to ignore the pain and keep going. because besides termagant's, tyranids are not really known for self preservation or fear.
Incorrect about Carnifexes getting a normal move when shot and taking damage. Its D6 + 2 inches. Which is still good, especially since this doesn't trigger in any movement phase but in your enemies shooting phase. You can end up in engagement range due to this and force the enemy to fight you without getting to charge you.
termagants with spine fists that have twin linked. 2 attacks each using sustained hits unit of 20, 40 attacks re-roll all wound rolls. range not as good as the devourer but it is a pistol so can be shot in combat as well, giving the range it lost to extra hits in melee. I thought they should have mentioned the Hive Tyrants ability to use stratagems a mention. A hive Tyrant, Swarm Lord combo each with tyrant Guard are very strong together walking them around the board where things need to Die.
I was using a unit of Termagants to get an objective off a Unit of Orks. I thought that I would need to shoot and then charge but my Spine fists kill the hole unit, nothing left to charge.
I think it feels like a mistake not.having synapse on the broodlord, they took it off the parasite of mortrex too but that's a bit more understandable but the broodlord is a psyker they literally get their power direct from the hive mind they have to be synapse. I would love to say it will be a day 1 faq to correct the mistake but GW will probably never notice and if it gets brought up they will claim it was intensional
Mike here! Missed this initially. Agree with the combo. I can only theorise that easily protected synapse characters are being avoided for balance reasons to make Synapse more impactful!
Great content and channel. If you’re open to a small suggestion - please balance the sound between sections. The subscribe reminder cut-ins were much louder than the main content and a little jarring. Just a nitpick though, great stuff otherwise!
they said there were no characters that did not have synapse, the Brood lord in not synapse you could use the 9" ability on him. and the perfect biology is yes once per turn but all of those rerolls once per tern not one of them. I use this on my hive tyrant and in an attack sequence it often plays into whether you kill outright or just wound.
Very excited for the Eldar review. Steve's bonkers but fun Aspect list got me back into playing 40K when I was pretty put off by the communitt. Reminding me it was about playing hard, fair and fun. Hi, quick noob to tryanids question. Hyper Adaption for Invasion Fleet detachment. Swarming Instincts for example. When targeting infantry enemies, does Sustain hits trigger automatically when attacking or on a successful hit roll?
love the content buuuuttt might I suggest boosting your vocal levels? You both sound very quiet and I had turn up the volume....but then my eardrums exploded when the sponsorship ads came ...
Precision isn’t tied to critical hits. It simply states that successful wounds can be allocated to characters in the unit. And the wound roll is against the toughness of the unit, not the character, so a T8 char hiding in a unit of T3 guys has toughness 3 against Precision attacks. Makes one think twice about hiding your neurotyrant in a unit of neurogaunts if your opponent has good access to Precision.
Yes, but the detachment rule only gives precision on a critical hit, which is what I think they meant. (I think you probably don't attach it to neurogaunts (but have them nearby as they make great targets of his ability to make anything in synapse for a turn).
As obsidi2 has said the Precision ability is on Crits for the Nid detachment ability! You are completely right though about the toughness you roll against being the attached unit.
@@VanguardTactics True, during that part of the video the description of Precision was on screen but I lost sight of the fact that the Adaptation only applies it to critical hits. My mistake.

Hyper aggression and Adrenal surge should help somewhat. Triggering Lethal Hits on 5+ is fairly spicy. Old One Eye + 2 Fexes. It'll be hard but, and it's a big but, get them in to combat they'll do some good damage. Plus you can still shoot into the combat so the Knight ain't safe from numerous Lethal Hit shots etc. Of course the Nids might get blasted off or not. It'll be tough no doubt.
@@ElitePwny The heavy venom cannon is nerfed into the ground now, going from 3 to d3 hits, keeping the same S and ap while their intended targets (vehicles and monsters) got tougher, and Carnifexes stuck at BS4. Broodlord is a bad idea to put the free re-roll on. While the charge is important on him you can use a cp for that. He has no ranged attacks, and being in a group of genestealers he is not going to take wounds, so there isn't a lot of times to use the free re-roll.
