    Love it! Nice job. Nothing like working in a clean workspace on something like this. There is something so relaxing about a job like this.

    OMG! It's sooo cute! I think that's the same one my Civic uses to start the "real" engine!
    HAHA, sorry, have to joke. Cool vid, love watching a pro do their thing when it comes to a rebuild. They make it looks so easy, then I try to change a lightbulb and end up in the ER. lol

      A series engine is one of the best engineered engines built

    Just wondered when the dizzy, alternator, starter motor, clutch slave and thermostat/housing are going on? Didn't notice the gearbox output universals either. Great to see a Proper Mini engine get some tlc. I would have liked to see more of what was going on at the radiator end of the block, it was obscured from veiw. Really enjoyed the video though. Have you used roller rockers in the valve train, couldn't quite make it out? (Should've gone to a well known optometrist eh? Ha ha).

    How much does this cost through a company or how much does it cost to do it yourself

    Can you still get genuine BL/Rover parts for the A-series?

    what is he doin with the glass block at about 2:50? measuring the volume?

      Yes, that is used to calculate the compression ratio, one of the most important specs of an engine.

    I just realised that my engine hasn't got the heater control valve hole on the block?

      I don't think all of them have them. Only certain years, don't take my word for it.

      As far as I'm aware there was a "pancake" plate between the head and the thermostat elbow which allowed for a heater take-off. Or it was between the head and the water pump, not 100% sure.

    Where can i get that engine stand?

    • @BenvanLeeuwenNL
      @BenvanLeeuwenNL  6 лет назад +2

      It's a VW / Porsche 313 engine stand. You can still find them second hand, but there are also remakes. I don't know exactly which engine this arm was designed for (you can get many arms for the 313 stand, we've had it for ages). You might have to drill an extra hole to fit the A-series engine.
