I remember when my brother had his engine in and out 4 times in one day, and how one day left the gearbox in the car and unbolted just the block lifting it out, all with out a engine crane even with the 4 times in one day
The Mini manuals show on removing the engine, subframe, radiator from under the car, which is easier and afford easier repair of components on a bench. I have never come across anybody using that method, is there any reason for it?
George unlike your videos they are not meant for a how to. but purely for my benefit and the title was pure tongue in cheek, used your video to do my Clubvan n 47 engine rebuild
You don't need to disconnect the hub joints the drive shafts disconnect automatically as the engine assembly rises. The bonnet can stay in place just tie it back to the boot handle. I didn't see him remove the gearstick. The radiator takes more than 11 minutes to remove & can stay in place, He didn't do that task In 11 minutes that's bullshit. I am 76 now used to do it easily in12 to 15 minutes & 30 minutes to reinstall

Can’t wait to see this at the pub mate when it’s finished and we’re allowed to go for a pint again! Hope you’re doing well!

Thanks for the comment ,I just disconnected everything and pulled out the engine on the engine lift as That`s the way I have always done it
This doesn’t explain “HOW” to do anything... Also it’s sped up so it’s likely an hour or so

it's clickbait and it worked on me LOL
How long would it take a spi 1,3 engine out with auto box
Never done an spi but pretty much the same process, depends on ability and experience but should be more than doable in a day
And with the proper engine sling ,it comes out very easy (did enough in my Leyland days)
Me too. But as ever , we all have our own ways. Mine was just as good. Without special sling
11 minutes, yeah right the video is at 3x perhaps even 4x the speed.

Believe this and you’ll believe anything. Ridiculous. I worked professionally on them for years.
