Funny thing is you get used to doing the same thing over and over and it sticks in your head. I have a buddy that did a lot of streaming on Twitch during 2020....he started doing club/bar gigs and gets on the mic and says "hows everyone feeling in the CHAT tonight!" LOL

Special Dances tip for new DJs... in Serato label all the songs in the comments 1st, F/D, M/S etc...Slide comments over all the way to the left. Before dances make sure all of them load properly. Peace of Mind!!!

Also good tip on Serato crate "Entrances". What I do to avoid any mix up is to create a separate crate per entrance. Bit of an overkill, but it's clearly shown on the left
F-ups happen bro. I had the electricity cut out on my event this weekend twice! The venues electrical system was terrible! Regardless, it makes us look bad but there's not much that could have been done to avoid it. Shit happens, we just gotta deal with it and roll with the punches.

Something like that almost happen to me, the person gave me a file of the mother-daughter dance but it was only 30 sec. THANK GOD I prepared the crates and had downloaded the song on the fly 15 mins before the start of the intro's lol
Yeah its happened to me in the past. Now in itunes I always label/tag my wedding songs with (1), (2), (3), etc, on both the Title & Artist then (First Dance, Father Daughter, Mother Son, etc) then name of song. Putting the songs in "(parentheses)" helps ensure they fall to the top of the Serato list.

People aren’t paying enough to have to deal with getting people micd up. It’s not necessary. He does way more than most djs overall throughout the entire gig, that lapel mics aren’t a big deal.
You are an inspiration I will always continue to watch and learn from your videos my question to you is every wedding that you do and you make a wedding crate for the client do you delete that actual crate afterwards or you keep them as a log on the Serato software

This is a venue where the Rockville 5.5 foot extendable truss stands would have been PERFECT! Those Truss stands are too tall with that low ceiling. The effects of the lights being that high is diminished.
We all make mistakes, what I do is I make a crate and every each song is numbered and on the comment I type in what kind of intro or dance so there’s no confusion between you and people that helps you.

Yo homie! Awesome job per usual. Even with those hiccups, you rocked one hell of a celebration! I also create a crate just like you for all the FORMALITY music throughout the night, and it helps me or my assistant so much. I do one thing different that I'd love to share with you. It can also be a PRO TIP: In parenthesis next to the song title, I add who's dancing to that song. Example - [ (First Dance B&G) Beautiful Crazy - Luke Combs ]. I do the same for FOB, MOG, Cake, Intro, Last Dance, etc. This helps when you're adding the tracks to the crate to make sure you have them all as well. Serato also saves this change so if you ever need to make recommendations to future clients, you can search for it within Serato a lot faster. Hope it helps! Keep killing it brotha!

Mistakes happen. I would suggest that before you do the intros, always tell your assistant the name and artist of the first dance song so they know it well. Maybe say it TWICE to them. Maybe they should have a sheet of paper printed that says in big letters the name and artist of the each important dance songs so they know what to search for and drag into the deck in case it is not pre loaded, or in the crate.

Tip: always have 2 sources of music ready...a 2nd laptop or tablet (especially with the important songs like 1st Dance, or Entrance music)...In that way, if your first source is not ready, you take 3 seconds to hit play on 2nd source, which would feed into a separate channel
