I agree! You put so much attention, care and effort into every detail from the em-ing (which I don’t do at weddings I just play the tunes), to your equipment set up with the turntables and high end booth finish (compared to my stock standard wedding set ups with black carpeted dj booth). A class for effort. As a wedding dj if I was at this wedding I would’ve come up to u at the end (and not during your set) and big upped you for all the stuff I mentioned above

Right on, Nick. That's a LOT of talent and craft expertise happening all at once. I hope people also appreciate how the size of the dance floor and your staging added to the energy you were creating. When the B&G get into the mix and you've got full participation from the wedding party, (including double fisting their bottles @ 16:11) the magic ensues. Bravo, my friend. Keep raising the bar for both the entertainment itself and the post production on social. You've unleashed a new breed of special event content and it's great to see people recognizing your efforts. Continued success! -m

Great video! I am living since 4 months in Canada. Actually, I was from Argentina and we usually start at 8:30PM the reception,
9:30 end of Reception, guest take their seat,
10:00 Entrance of groom and bride enter to party room. (First Dance) Electro, EDM, Electrolatino
    10:30 First Dish
11:00 Vals first dance, parents etc, After that Latin pop music 40 top hits
    11:45 Second dish
1: 15 Dance or show (Latin music reggaetton, cumbia)
    2:00 dessert,
    2:30 Dance or show
    3:15 Cake
3:45 Dance music (cumbia, reggaetton, EDM) Everything to retain the party people
    5:30 the end

I'm a bedroom DJ who mostly just messes around for fun with some traktor controllers. I find top 40 can be the hardest to mix smoothly, for a few reasons. You absolutely killed it. Even the really short transitions where you're basically just dropping it on the 1 with a little echo on the track going out or whatever, you make sound really really smooth. You killed it man, nice!

I watch alot of DJ video's, always looking to improve. When I started out in this venture, I was intimidated by some of the DJ's around in my Cleveland OH. area. I'm talking about the bigger companies, I would notice what equipment they used. (not always new or great stuff)
I then set out on a mission years ago to abandon most of my beginner stuff and replace it with what I call middle of the road equipment. I now own overkill of Electro Voice
    (4) EKX 15p
    (4) EKX 18p Subs and no I don't use all of them at the same time, just depends on the venue.
I also went overboard with an array of lighting equipment, including crank stands and trussing. (far to much to list here)
After watching what the trends are, I realize that its really about simple but effective uplighting
MC not a problem and know when to shut up, because its all about the Bride and Groom and their families and friends,
But I now realize after attending so many venues over the years that most of what I saw where DJ-s that didn't have the skill set to pull off actual effective mixing.
After watching so many video's I realize my weak area is Mixing and want to focus on that.
I loved this latest video and enjoyed the over the shoulder shots of you mixing.
    Love the Blogs
    Keep it coming

Excellent...take a look at Black and Yellow Wire Path tape.....but careful it might stick to certain floors, but I don't usually have an issue with it when only down a couple hours. You can also run the wire down one stop and tape it to the crease between steps and back up the other side. I use a Mackie external mixer my DDJ plugs into along with 4 wireless mics and my "booth" mic, trusty SM-58. Nice table!!

Camera angle is behind him showing his transitions and mixing on the fly vs the fake youtube Dj's who have camera facing them during gig log while they are playing premixed music from other Dj's and doing the mixer fake knob play or fake ass "push play Dj" as I call them . This is how it should be done. “Apache” might not be the best but it ain’t to shabby either. Glad to see a DJ rock a set like this at a wedding. I’m so used to cookie cutter sets at events like this. Def giving the customer what they want while putting your own creative spin. -from a fellow tri-state club DJ/Producer.
