What was wrong with the controller?
The DDJ-1000 would not turn on. A blinking light appeared at the top of the controller. I look up the code and it seemed to be a problem with the power. The DDJ-FLX6 worked I just didn't want to DJ on it.

DDJ-FLX6 failed??
@@DJSHaKa Bruh... I had a experience last week with my DDJ SX3... I had no output through the mains on the controller. The level meters in Serato weren't indicating and I had no sound output. Only sound I had was coming out via the headphone jack. Had to call to get another controller to do the gig.

I really appreciate you expressing your nervousness. I did a pretty big corporate Christmas party, and I was so nervous until I started...it was a great crowd and I had a blast! I did 6 others that were not as fun haha. So I totally felt that moment in the car where you're like "not gonna lie...a little bit nervous."

Man listen Barr, I bought a DDJ 800. I see one of your videos that inspired me to get back into DJing and it was my hard earned money. I got sick during covid and this thing sat in its case for over a year. I finally got to use it and had my first gig booked and I wanted to get familar with the unit. My brother it brought tears to my eyes when I went to scratch and the right Jog wheel started moving around. Well I pulled to see why it was loose and the whole Jog wheel lifted up and it was broken. I found out it is one of the few controllers where the center is held by a thin peace of plastic. I wrote to Pioneer and they basically called me a liar and then I called the repair company and they said 160 per hour times 3 hours which would put the bill over 500 dollars which to me is not worth it. What a peace of trash. Man I am so heart broken man. I live in New Jersey down by the shore and this has been the most difficult last few years of my life. I do not have money to fix this thing man I plan on getting the Rane One, I like the steel thing man these Pioneers are a bunch of plastic and they customer service are rude and nasty people. The parts department sent me the instructions on how to replace that plastic housing that hold the jog wheel together. That is my only option is to try and fix it myself. Pray for me it will take about 3 weeks to get the part. Man I am so hurt. I almost died from throat cancer and have been struggling for the last few years man. I just want to enjoy what life I have left. I love your videos man your the best.
No need to apologize for doing the right songs for the crowds that book you. They book you because of what you do...we do a lot in Texas, and they love the same country songs- give the people what they want :)
The thing with trailers, is to remember that you need to turn opposite the way you wanna go. Small trailers respond faster to the drivers turns, so it's easier to over-react, overcorrect, and mess up. It's like riding a bike, you never forget.

Barr…about the Evolves. I felt like the speakers weren’t use correctly to their capacity. I have the 50’s and I had an issue with them not hitting like I’d like. So I used the EQ on the speaker to balance them out and you can save the setting as a preset. EQing on your board will be different depending on what type of DJ not just you but anyone maybe. But I found EQing the speaker it self gives you what you need, also be sure to add a mixer between the controller and speakers is a boss move. 🙌🏽
I love the JBL Compact. You gotta use the app. I use my phone to control the mixer section on it and save snapshots based on application, if its a ceremony I just load the ceremony snapshot. When using the app and eq your really able to push the speaker. Bonus, i can power my dual moc system with the usb port on the back with a usb to dc converter cable.
Great video. If you're wanting to buy a set of Astera Tubes I would recommend the Titan Tubes over the pixel Tubes as they're brighter, have better colour mixing and have a display on the back of the unit.

You can control each channel on the JBL eon compact pro, all at once. Just need to be in channel mix mode.

The jbl would you recommend for ceremony or cocktail... in the early 2ks I was a huge jbl fan then qsc came out with k12s I've been hooked ever since .
What do you use for song requests?
I heard Ev Evolve 50 are good. Im thinking about looking in getting them next year so I don't have to pull out the Elx too much.
There are pros and cons in all the small battery powered speakers. I like the JBL Eon Pro Compact over all for having the best features , the 12 hour battery life and ease of quickly changing the battery.
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS BARR! But as a viewer it killed me to hear you say "Bride and Groom" so much! You and Nick Spinelli were the ones that taught me to use their names! That is the difficult thing when doing an event for somebody else though :/ Sometimes they do not always have their first names as prevalent. I actually have my bride and grooms first names posted where ever I can in my planner to make sure that I use it! lol I bet it was an amazing experience to go to Florida to DJ!

It's not a backup if you don't have it installed and ready to use instantly. When you use gear that is not yours, you should make it a habit to test & use the gear a little before you get to the gig. Murphy Law... As for the drivers for the FLX6, you could always wireless/wire tether (Hotspot) your phone to your mac and download the latest drivers and firmware for any device. My Ultra Pro Tip: Always have an empty flash drive or two in your bag.
Great travel video by the way. I 100% agree with you, never combine your power and audio cables together. That column for the wedding is a DJ worst nightmare. I really like the tube position for the wedding. The last last dance for the bride and groom could still be done with people in the room, you really need to MC that the guests vacate the dance floor for the newlyweds to enjoy the last dance intimately/privately together. You may find that guests will respect the brides wishes to have that last few minutes on the dance floor alone with her husband.

Do you use a external mixer on your set up or do you just run sound straight to the dj controller ?
He uses a Yamaha mixer with his setup never plug straight into your controller not powerful enough to give you a big volume. Always use an external mixer

Decks breaking - that’s the main reason I have a little side mixer I always take but leave in a bag so I can use my phone if worst come to worst and will not sale my old set of decks as I fear this may happen

Cant wait for the your Maui 44 G2 review. It is on my list next purchase, but not a lot of reviews I can find. I'm using Ev Evolve 50 for most of the time 100 ppl max. Do you think it is big difference with the Maui? Worth the update? Keep up the good work.
let's gooooo! It's wild how little this speaker is talked about on the internet. There is one review recently from a guy from the UK. Solid review. But I think the biggest thing that puts people off to the Maui 44G2 is the price. We aren't getting those co-signs simply because it's out of a lot of people's price range. Affordability is a huge deal to a lot of people in the mobile DJ space. I'm still willing to keep my ears open & eyes peeled for this review. All protective cases are backordered for this thing. Curious about customer support in the USA as well. All factors to consider. I use the Evolve 50Ms...huge online community, lots of constant chatter, going down as a classic speaker for mobiles but would like something more powerful without adding subs. So yes I'm eagerly waiting for this 44G2 review
He gave you some cheap XLRs lol. I use the PROx "siamese" cables are great! all you have to do is run a XLR
For what it's worth, I have the EON as well, and the biggest thing that SAVES this speaker, is the app control. Using your phone or a tablet, you can easily control all the channels independently at the same time, have a 5 band custom EQ curve on the whole speaker, and also have a custom EQ curve on each channel. You also can easily add effects for vocals for singers on each channel. This speaker is not usable without the app, and you need to try that as part of your gig flow when using it.

I just don’t get the tubes. If I was given a set I think they would mostly collect dust in my garage. DJs are always looking for the next cool effect but tubes? I don’t think so. Did the client pay for the tubes (very bad sci fi drive in movie look to me)? Bunn throws them in for free. I have the EV 50s and love them but I love them lots more when I add a separate sub, in my case I take a Bose Sub2 from my larger system. Did I mention I think the tubes are a very over priced novelty light? The NFT of DJ lights.
Agree on the jbl. It peaks easily but for ceremonies and cocktails it does the job. Just the recessional is where you can notice the compressor.
You need to try the Yorkville EXM mobile line of speakers.
If you use the astera tubes I heavily suggest getting c stands because they are great for holding them
