      They were just trying so hard. I mean Paul is doing windmills in the first verse of the first song. No one was trying that hard at that time. People have never seen anything like this. They were simply obsessively determined to rock the fucking house down and pulled out all the stops to do it. They invented stops to do it!

      Ace is insanely popular and is credited for inspiring countless other guitarists. Even his solo work in known for being more popular than the rest of the other kiss members solo work. I love ace and I think he's easily gotten the credit. Enough with people saying underrated about everything

    Music was more creative in 1970's and with no social networks and no MTV, it left a sense of mystery behind the musicians especially Kiss!

    • @jrfan8828
      @jrfan8828 7 лет назад +7

      Matthew Baumgarten I hear very people say that, but agree with what you said 100%. KISS' stage today is bright enough to be seen from the moon, whereas back then it was darker on stage. Granted, they were just beginning and didn't have the money to blow everything yet, but the stage being dim allowed for a band like KISS to have mystique about them that nobody could figure out. It left people in awe and wondering who the kick was that and what did I just see and hear.

They were by far THE best band I've EVER seem, and we got some headliners like Rush, Areosnith, Boston, and other major bands. But kiss, they were actually banned from playing in our fieldhouse because they burnt the ceiling LOL! And I was there, just feet away from the pyrotechnics that caused it lol.

    I saw them around this time. They were an opening act for Suzi Quatro and Blue Oyster Cult in Detroit. The stage show was very primitive compared to what it became. No one really knew what to expect and they tore the place up! Suzi was pathetic following them. BOC managed to get the crowd on their side but it took awhile. I think the show cost around $4.00 for a ticket!

    Im more of a glamrock and glitter scene fan (and punk) as oppose to general kiss fan. This is way better as that silly hair metal they made later on.
