    No band could ever match Kiss, the way the were back in the day. They had an appeal unlike any other. Everything was perfect, from top to bottom - the name, the logo, their incredible image with the make-up and costumes and the mystique surrounding the band because they didn't show themselves without make-up - to me it was like there was something almost supernatural about them with that image they had, like they were from another world, and of course the great music and epic stage shows. That whole package altogether is light years beyond any act in the history of rock IMO. I'm glad I started listening to them when they still had the make-up and was able to experience that era of Kiss.

      MegaChorro123 They were, but they were absolutely huge in the late 70's. I was all part of that scene. Kiss late 70's was as big as all the hair metal bands put together from the late 80's...believe it or not, thats how popular KISS was. In the late 70's, most people in my school listened to KISS, but there were some kids that were into DISCO in that time. I am glad I got to experience the 70's...the time we are living through now is really bad. Every decade seems to get worse as time goes on.

    The Love Gun tour was my favorite and it was when KISS was at the pinnacle of their success. I've seen The Who, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Deep Purple, Led Zep, Sabbath, Rush, Yes, Pink Floyd, Tull, Van Halen, ACDC, and many more classic rock bands and never enjoyed any of those shows like the Love Gun tour, KISS is what made my teen years bearable and stood for everything I wanted at that time in my life, Flaming Youth will set the world on fire!

      Good point, I remember Paul Stanley/Gene Simmons wanting to play in Tupelo MS in honor of Elvis, they weren't allowed a permit to have a concert there. But they said the big Elvis in lights inspired them to highlight their logo on stage. They also credited the Beatles with wanting to get the female crowd excited.

      Yup I agree. My brother took me to see them on this tour in 1977 in San Francisco. The opening act was Cheap Trick. Great show, and I really enjoyed both bands that night. The show was actually the same night Elvis passed away. August 16th 1977. KISS dedicated Rock & Roll all night to Elvis at that show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 👍

    Just reading the biography from Paul Stanley which was released several years ago. Always been a fan of this band and i am owning the two KISS pinball machines as well. This has always been one of my absolute favourite songs from them. Great how they enter the stage while the hard and heavy riffs makes you go crazy. I have only seen them once here in germany back in 1997 (Hamburg - Trabrennbahn) after they had re-masked. It was one of the greatest shows ever! Paul was only 25 years old when this video was shot. Great! Great! With regards from germany.

    I like Kiss if only for the fact that their songs are so easy to learn. DP, Black S, LZ from the 70s can be really involved. I never liked Kiss because I knew them in their Grunge Death Metal trying to keep up with the kids phase. But in their prime pre-1982 they had some really great riffs. I must say that this I Stole Your Love does remind me of Deep Purple and Blackmore's Rainbow who did this sort of thing before KISS.

    Imagine singing and playing this song in front of thousands of people, in the dark with bombs going off, in platform boots and totally making it rock. Watch Paul. Between each chord or verse, he strikes a killer pose, tosses a pick into the crowd, points to whichever lady he wants to meet after the show, jumps or spins in those boots or running down a staircase .Lol. And he keeps that energy up the whole show .

  • @Fraevo10
    @Fraevo10 9 лет назад +11

    Fuckin' sweet lyrics.
    The way Paul Stanley lays down the vocal over the riff & groove is absolutely brilliant. For how great a song this is, I always thought the original studio version is produced very poorly. The guitar riff is NOT given the justice it deserves with that production. It's a shame you can't get to hear, "I Stole Your Love" with the same sonic tone of the production of the "Rock And Roll Over" where the guitars and drums sound SPECTACULAR and not muddy like the production on the "Love Gun" album.
