+brnleague99 + 100.000 and beautiful singing by Paul. Even the wind gives somme good pictures of Paul. One of the best performances of Kiss where made on this tour. I was made for loving you on Wembley Arena is insane too. Good old times.
Gene can still sing, Paul poured his heart and soul into it for years- now his voice is gone but it was sure a thing of beauty. I wish they never would have put the makeup back on but that is where the money was I was a non make up fan 80’s and up through Revenge! Great days great concerts Bruce was the real deal a long with Rip Eric Carr still ranked among the greatest top ten drummer in the world and has been gone since 91’ he loved the fans
Once again, KISS show how diverse they are as writers and performers. Not your typical rock band at all, they can go heavy or melodic, thats what being a truly talented musician/writer is all about, being able to be diverse. Great tune and great vocals as well.
Great performance by Paul here. Vocals and guitar! He shows how good he can be when he wants to. Alot of times he struts and jumps around instead of playing and I understand that but here he is more concerned about the song than entertaining and he really shines on this. Paul is great!
My favorite live performance of this UNMASKED classic! Paul, Ace, Gene & Eric were truly firing on all cylinders! Rock in Peace Casablanca Records founder Neil Bogart, drummer Eric Carr & original manager Bill Aucoin.
I think this show from Sydney 1980 is one of the best I've ever seen from this era of the band. Detroit Rock City is spine tingling as an opener.... The guys were on the money this show.
wow, I was at this concert. I lived at Bondi beach. Mum took me, I was 9 years old. This was at the sydney showgrounds right next door to the sydney cricket ground. My first concert ever and I'll never forget it.
And here I am comin back to this damn video yet again. As a KISS fan since the beginning, it absolutely kills me to know I'm diggin a tribute to the original guys I grew up with, cause 2 of those guys shit *all* over the band and its legacy...and I ain't talkin about Ace and Pete 🎶😎🎶
I love this song, it remember me high school´s times (1980) with my dearest friend Sergio. We are still KISS fans today!!! I have 46........... KISS FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!
This came out when I was 13...I always said if I have a daughter, her name would be Shandi...14 years later, I got my little girl!!!...Ihave always been a big fan of KISS and always will be!!!
Great memories! Music will never be like this ever again, I am glad I experienced it, but no matter how I try to convey to my kids, about those times, they will never understand the moments I lived in this era!! Fantastic Music then!
@@Blckpwdr406 Agreed. I get that fans have a soft spot for Peter because he was in the band when they were 8, but both Erics run circles around him. They also made it possible to have a much deeper setlist than you would get with Peter these days.
Looking back on this, I never realised how WELL they actually played here. Eric REALLY kicked them in the arse performance wise! Shandi was/is only ever played here in Australia. Paul was the only band member to play on the album track as well!
by far the best version of the song i have ever heard! love that it is done as fast as this. It got (kind of ) a feel like Thin lizzis Dont Believe a Word, i thought
The "Too Much Cocaine" tour. I first saw KISS live in 1976 (September 6, 1976. Varsity Stadium. Toronto. $6 General Admission seating. And YES, there was a riot - three years before the Cincinnati tragedy brought General Admission to an end for a good long time) and KISS forced me - FORCED, I SAY - to be a musician. I had no choice after that. I saw this tour, too. Rode my bicycle to the local A&M Record Store at McCowan and Eglinton (yes, that used to be a thing - "record stores", not bicycles. I think bicycles might still exist...) and waited in line for about four hours. Got pretty good tickets. Didn't have to buy them from a scalper or pay twice what they were worth from some bullshit online fuck company) RIP Mr. Carr. Like Jimmy Buffet said, "Don't try to describe a KISS concert if you've never seen one".
Just found out about this live performance. This version is awesome. If I would have heard it first before the actual song, it would've been my favorite
That's true what Gene wrote in "Kiss & Make Up": the australian tour was great. Surely the playing is tighter than other previous gigs, they seems to enjoy the new song from "Unmasked".

LOL awsome how PS breaks away all quick from the mike at 0:28 when he says "hot nights for rock and ROLL!" also awesome how Ace twirls at 2:27... and the "roll call" at 3:02
I've seen mostly 80s concerts without makeup, and the 90s early 2000s reunion stuff kiss has done on youtube and it feels so weird seeing paul look so young with makeup.
I think they redid the vocals on this one for the DVD. If you watch the DVD the song before this and the song after this the vocals sound much more raw and real. They sound very polished on this song compared to the rest of the show.
Wait….how did this poppy love song get a boost in the ass and such a kicking groove? Oh yeah that’s right I’m sorry I forgot. Eric Carr always gave those songs the juice.
The beginning of the end...this and its album it came from showed a band struggling to find its voice....this brings me sadness at how they nuetered themselves and the music at this particular time in their storied career......
He is awesome! He is not gay!! He plays the starchild persona up, when he plays with out make up he doesn't talk in the high pitched voice! i love both versions! If what they wear is gay look at the new york dolls, glam and they pioneered punk! Also so many bands like pantera credit kiss for such a huge musical influence!!
I actually didn't know until now they did this one live because of how soft it is on the album. Sounds great both ways, but I love this heavier take on it!
One thing to note is that this song is one of the band's biggest hits down under. It was a top 5 hit in 1980.
And rightfully so, though it should've gone to number 1. In a perfect world, it surely would have done so.
yep, they still play it when they're over there sometimes
Awful song
Many believe that this is the single best live performance of this song EVER. I'm inclined to agree!
+brnleague99 me too
+brnleague99 + 100.000 and beautiful singing by Paul. Even the wind gives somme good pictures of Paul. One of the best performances of Kiss where made on this tour. I was made for loving you on Wembley Arena is insane too.
Good old times.
Paul’s guitar playing during the performance is some of the best I’ve seen as well. i think he’s an underrated player.
ONLY place they EVER played it! Still do. Shandi is only ever played on Aussie tours!
Paul & Gene's vocals are completely overdubbed here
Gene is an extremely underrated backup vocalist. Arguably what he is best at.
It’s the Beatle influence for sure. Crisp and clean harmony 🤌🏽
I totally agree
Gene can still sing, Paul poured his heart and soul into it for years- now his voice is gone but it was sure a thing of beauty.
We’ll said!
Pauls playing lead guitar on this one, it's a great song done uptempo like this
I agree
Great performance by Paul here. Vocals and guitar! He shows how good he can be when he wants to. Alot of times he struts and jumps around instead of playing and I understand that but here he is more concerned about the song than entertaining and he really shines on this. Paul is great!
You realize the vocals are completely re-recorded yes?
wadeva69 why would the vocals need to be re recorded Paul still had his voice at this time
Eric’s drumming is amazing in this whole concert!
Eric was a sync thunder behind the kit. Solid.
My favorite live performance of this UNMASKED classic! Paul, Ace, Gene & Eric were truly firing on all cylinders! Rock in Peace Casablanca Records founder Neil Bogart, drummer Eric Carr & original manager Bill Aucoin.

Hidden masterpiece ! on KILLERS.
Unmasked, don't you listen??
And here I am comin back to this damn video yet again. As a KISS fan since the beginning, it absolutely kills me to know I'm diggin a tribute to the original guys I grew up with, cause 2 of those guys shit *all* over the band and its legacy...and I ain't talkin about Ace and Pete 🎶😎🎶
I love this song, it remember me high school´s times
(1980) with my dearest friend Sergio.
We are still KISS fans today!!!
I have 46...........
KISS FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the best versions of shandi ever.
My brothers and I flew down from Armidale nsw to see this concert. One of the highlights of our youth.
Best song KISS has ever recorded!!
Ikr...best song ever :D
Glitter jealous buddy
uhhh... ummm... ehhh... I love this tune but it's only the best KISS song if you never heard the albums that preceded it
Best Kiss song if it was the only Kiss song that ever existed lmfao
Wow really ??? You are fucking deluded.
beautiful voice....AND AWESOME SONG!!!!!!!
This came out when I was 13...I always said if I have a daughter, her name would be Shandi...14 years later, I got my little girl!!!...Ihave always been a big fan of KISS and always will be!!!
I was at this concert!!! glory days!
this was a really great show!!!
Love this song, they need to play live more often!
Great memories! Music will never be like this ever again, I am glad I experienced it, but no matter how I try to convey to my kids, about those times, they will never understand the moments I lived in this era!! Fantastic Music then!
I honestly say this is the best live version I have heard ever
My first KISS shows are at Selland Arena Fresno CA 1979 and then Auckland NZ 1980.
Great KISS era 1979 & 1980.
Pretty cool with Eric and Ace together for the first and last time on a proper tour.
Just come up to this. Paul Stanley at his best peaks. I wish I could go back to those years n see them live!
My favorite song from the album Unmasked
Liked Eric Carr as the Fox. He was his own character and didn't hijack Peter Criss' Catman make up. A very good drummer also.
Vinnie vincent also
Eric Carr was the best drummer the bands ever had. Singer is great too
@@Blckpwdr406 Agreed. I get that fans have a soft spot for Peter because he was in the band when they were 8, but both Erics run circles around him. They also made it possible to have a much deeper setlist than you would get with Peter these days.
He was the best drummer they had.
In Eric singers defense he didn’t have a choice in the matter they just told him “your the new catman”
Looking back on this, I never realised how WELL they actually played here. Eric REALLY kicked them in the arse performance wise!
Shandi was/is only ever played here in Australia. Paul was the only band member to play on the album track as well!
Fave era of KISS! xoxo The Clarences
by far the best version of the song i have ever heard! love that it is done as fast as this. It got (kind of ) a feel like Thin lizzis Dont Believe a Word, i thought
Great song, the last of a kiss era 😎
I love this song!
The best live version of shandi
Awesome, the original shandi video clip is the best video they did, followed closely by hide your heart,,
Songs so underrated, 3:30 is the perfect moment too, you can see how into it ace and eric are in the 2 shots
I love this version
My favorite line up
Alive IV is much better
no way, Peter's drumming is awful.
Mr. Moon no its not you just dont know music
Mr. Moon he was up there for 40 years where was you
Great underrated song. Kiss had great songs and image
love this song!
Thanks!
Amazing
Paul I Love you!The Voice and he is beautiful man!! Love you kiss🎸✌💞💖 😉❤
Bring back the Dynasty-Unmasked era outfits!!!

I like this song
I love this song
I lost my hearing for 2 days thank you KISS 9 concerts later i say what alot lol
I wish they would play it like this again with Paul doing his solo thing.....and bring back those costumes
Adoro essa música *-*
Just found out about this live performance. This version is awesome. If I would have heard it first before the actual song, it would've been my favorite
one of mu favorite kiss
Paul on lead.. Awesome
Fantastic version. Love it.
melhor versão de shandi!!
fastest version ever ;) i liker very much !!!!
"shandi" and "I was made for loving you", the best for me from kiss
That's true what Gene wrote in "Kiss & Make Up": the australian tour was great. Surely the playing is tighter than other previous gigs, they seems to enjoy the new song from "Unmasked".
I think this is best performance of this song. 🎉
R.I.P Eric Carr
Love this
Best ever moments music world
Gene hitting those high notes
This is the only version I will listen to🤣🤣
My first ever concert ….i was 14 years old

Gene hitting those high notes🤣🤣🤣
WOW that's a quick tempo! Shandi's on speed!
😂😂😂
I went to highschool with a girl whose sister was named Shandi after this song.
LOL awsome how PS breaks away all quick from the mike at 0:28 when he says "hot nights for rock and ROLL!" also awesome how Ace twirls at 2:27... and the "roll call" at 3:02
1:20
In my opinion the best song off the album Unmasked should have been a bigger hit
The tempo sold up really killed it for me. I like the slower energy on the original recording.
this song sounds so much better live!
paul=perfection
soooo fast!!!!
genes backing vocals hello?
Best shandi forever
I've seen mostly 80s concerts without makeup, and the 90s early 2000s reunion stuff kiss has done on youtube and it feels so weird seeing paul look so young with makeup.

Shandi is on the "Unmasked" album from 1980
This could have been played in the 50s even. Has that melody
great you
Wait….how did this poppy love song get a boost in the ass and such a kicking groove? Oh yeah that’s right I’m sorry I forgot. Eric Carr always gave those songs the juice.
The king of stage schlep
Listen to talk to me of this show and dr love ace rips
Paul's voice was on point
The beginning of the end...this and its album it came from showed a band struggling to find its voice....this brings me sadness at how they nuetered themselves and the music at this particular time in their storied career......
My mum used to love a shandi back in the day , that's a beer with lemonade folks lol .
Eric Carr always loved to play fast! Great drummer!
He’s still feminine
Hell yeah, Megadeth, Anthrax, Death Angel have all recorded KI ⚡⚡covers, just to name a few
I actually didn't know until now they did this one live because of how soft it is on the album. Sounds great both ways, but I love this heavier take on it!
🎸🥁🎸
Q cancionnn
