There’s only a few artists that you can really say there will never be another like them….KISS is one. Great video and footage. If you were a teen back then, you really can’t describe what it was like. I’m so f**kin’ glad I was there.
Absolutely! Even when you see images of them from 75 -77 standing next to regular people in street clothes, they look timeless. Super ahead of their time. They were on to something before the classic era got derailed at the end of the 70's. They can never be duplicated.
Summer of 77 I was 13, and listening to Gene speak my vocabulary was enlarged. I love how this capture's the mood and spirit of the times, Well done. 👍
Kiss Alive was my 1st album. I was 7 and deathly afraid of Gene Simmons but for some reason I searched high and low for anything Kiss related. Shortly after that my parents bought me Destroyer, then came Kiss Alive II. That's when I knew I wanted to be a guitar player. Ace's solo during Shock Me did it for me. I became a Kiss Army member and talked my parents into buying me a Harmony guitar from Sears. Been playing guitar for 40 years and lost interest in Kiss when Van Halen 1 was released. Thank you Kiss for making my childhood special.
The Kiss Avatar show needs to be set around this era of Kiss, this is when they were at their peak. This is what so many of today's new fans have NEVER experienced.
This wasn't the peak of KISS for me. I saw them on this very tour, and I was underwhelmed. I liked their earlier, goth-ier era and wish like hell I could have seen them back then.
This reminds me why I loved KISS as a little kid but dang... I had no idea what these lyrics meant then. Ha! Can't believe my mom didn't hide the records from me 😂
I was 8 in 1977. Everything about kiss mesmerized me. Wanted everything with kiss i could get my hands on. Dressed as the demon around that time with the plastic mask for Halloween. Life long fan of the hottest band in the world!!
After many years I didn't realize that Paul played the first half of the solo. Wow, when Ace's half kicks in, he's blazing fast:) They were awesome back in those days! Couldn't wait to go to the mall to get there albums.
"Alive II" was recorded in Los Angeles in August, 1977, with some material from Tokyo earlier in the year. These live clips of "I Stole Your Love" and "Love Gun" are from Houston in September.
The live tracks are from three shows, Houston 77 nights 1 & 2, and Largo 77. See Editing here: ruclips.net/video/JKPd1a6W4ZY/видео.htmlsi=-kqfsAyT73P0eF--
I always thought of Kiss as a joke band. Then a friend of mine got a copy of Revenge a year before it was released and I loved it. So I started looking back at the old stuff. I can’t stand Unmasked or The Elder but RnR Over and Love Gun are classic albums ,Destroyer too.
I never had the chance to see the real Kiss. I saw them years ago with Tommy and Eric. I know it's not the real deal. I'm a fan since I was 10. Now 53 and still love the old 70's Kiss Dress to Kill and Alive II are still my favorites
Holy crap. This is bizarre but unexpected. Music is what sold me on most bands. As a 8 year old, in 77, visuals were all I knew. I'm wondering why they waited so long to release all of this. Other than the obvious that the technology didn't exist back than🤷. Incredible footage but what is with the song 😮!! Have no idea what could have worked better but listen to the lyrics of Radioactive. This doesn't work. Music yes . lyrics NO. I would definitely go to theaters to see this. Why not. It worked for Metallica with Some Kind of Monster.
So something from Kiss Alive II starts with Hotter than Hell photos? I do love all the shots from when they couldn't hang the sign. Must have really been a trip for Gene to deal with that on the side of the stage. Having grown up in L.A. in the 70's it was nice to see these clips. Reminded me of what a crap station Ten Q was.
Got the album for Christmas when it came out and still have it played it on my parents all in one cabinet stereo, now l can’t play it on my expensive stereo because it recorded so bad
Don't let people tell what to listen to. Don't let people tell what's real KISS or what not. Yeah, I really wanted to see Ace, Peter and Bruce on stage one last time, but life goes on, and Kiss couldn't stop. The reason why they kept playing until its very last concert is because they loved their work and wanted to give fans the best show the could. Listen to whatever you want, if you like 70's Kiss and the original lineup it's OK, if you keep missing both Ace and Peter it's OK but don't f*ck with the people who just want to enjoy Kiss' music and be happy.
Feel the same about Judas Priest, and Tim Owens....👈🤔...took MANY years, but they ended up BETTER, than the original... Better music, better performances...
I loved the first Alive! Then when I heard Alive II, all my expectations shattered like a waiter dropping a tray. It sounded brassy and thin with a terrible mix, especially on the drums. It was painfully obvious they had overdubbed the hell out of it ex post facto. And side four wasn't even live! It was one whole side of blatant filler just so they wouldn't feature any previously released material. Abject garbage. No energy, just hype.
@KissRemastersFilms To each their own, I guess. I saw KISS on that Alive II tour, and they didn't play even one song off of that side 4, so apparently they didn't think much of it, either.
There’s only a few artists that you can really say there will never be another like them….KISS is one. Great video and footage. If you were a teen back then, you really can’t describe what it was like. I’m so f**kin’ glad I was there.
Yes then the whole spectacle was magic that’s for sure! The entire 70’s
Absolutely! Even when you see images of them from 75 -77 standing next to regular people in street clothes, they look timeless. Super ahead of their time. They were on to something before the classic era got derailed at the end of the 70's. They can never be duplicated.
THIS IS AWESOME! This era of KISS just can’t be beat! Well done! 👍🏻
