No faffing about, a nice demonstration on baking. All good things into the pie, homemade is best. Oh you tease showing us the spoonful, I almost opened my mouth, my mouth is watering now 😂
I could almost smell that 😊 Don’t waste your money on an apple corer - they are only efficient when used on perfectly formed apples, you’d end up using your knife to get the wayward bits of core out of the less than perfect apples anyway, and they’re a pain to get the core out of. Better to invest that money in reusable bowl covers and/or beeswax wraps - you’ll save money on cling film ❤
Yes that pie was delicious, I thought twice about the corer and did not get one it only takes a second or two with a knife. Thanks for the tips. Thanks for watching

Just found your channel, great recipes and great to see the breakdown of ingredient costs. Good healthy, quick and easy recipes. Thank you so much. I’ll be trying out these tasty treats
Good evening, I'm from RSA, and we bake mostly with butter or margarine. I recently saw recipes with lard, my question now is, is it pork lard, beef lard or sheep lard? Really confused
I sprinkle a little sugar with a brushing of butter on the top of the pie before I throw it into the oven. It adds a crisp, sweet finish to the pie. Perhaps it would work well with the egg wash.
Great videos 👍🙂 Regarding the fats for the short pastry. Does it need to have the lard? Could it be all butter (or all lard for that matter)? What’s do you think the effects would be? Or is it a cost thing?
You can use all butter or veg shortening.......The texture of the pastry changes slightly with the different fats and I find that half butter half lard works well for me.....but it's worth experimenting with different quantities until you get something you like. Thanks.
This is a delicious apple pie at only 0.37p per slice
37p is almost 4 shillings ! whose budget are we talking about ? a city banker

I'm enjoying watching your videos. They're bringing back some great memories of my father and grandmother who were both great home cooks ❤
Yeah, mine too, thats where I learned to bake. Hope you try some of the recipes. Thanks for watching.
Where do you buy your flour? Even at Costco it's roughly £1.10 per kilo, double your flour cost
I get flour from ASDA 80p for 1.5kg. Thanks.
I’m new to your channel and so far I love it.
Thanks a lot, hope you try the recipes
Merci pour vos recettes

No faffing about, a nice demonstration on baking. All good things into the pie, homemade is best. Oh you tease showing us the spoonful, I almost opened my mouth, my mouth is watering now 😂
Thanks a lot...the apple pie was delicious....hope you give it a try.
Peaceful, calm and delicious. Thank you
My pleasure, hope you give the recipe a try.

Hello. I am not sure if you have answered this before so my apologies if you have. Could you turn these into individual pies & freeze them? I am the only person in my family who likes an apple pie.
Yes you could make them in individual pie dishes and freeze them. Thanks.
Just found your channel, great recipes and great to see the breakdown of ingredient costs. Good healthy, quick and easy recipes. Thank you so much. I’ll be trying out these tasty treats

@@BakingOnABudget Going to make the pie for sure. Have never had luck with pastry but I can see how you worked it and handled it. Thanks.
Love apple pie (minus the cinnamon, can't stand the stuff) warm with a scoop of ice cream 👍
Yes...with ice cream or custard....delicious. Thanks.
Good evening, I'm from RSA, and we bake mostly with butter or margarine. I recently saw recipes with lard, my question now is, is it pork lard, beef lard or sheep lard? Really confused
It's pork lard although you could use beef. Thanks
@@BakingOnABudget Thank you so much
Love watching your videos fantastic ❤
Thanks a lot, ope you try some of the recipes.
I sprinkle a little sugar with a brushing of butter on the top of the pie before I throw it into the oven. It adds a crisp, sweet finish to the pie. Perhaps it would work well with the egg wash.
Yes a little sugar on top just adds that extra bit of sweetness. Thanks.
Great videos 👍🙂
Regarding the fats for the short pastry.
Thanks.
@@BakingOnABudget Thanks for taking the time to reply 🙂👍
