Confidence renewed... I get so discouraged when I'm disappointed in how a recipe turns out and feel like I should just hang it up- Why bother when I can just hit up a local bakery? This recipe DELIVERED beyond my wildest hope/expectation! Hasn't even been a week and I'm hearing when are you going to make that again! 10 out of 10 and I'm heading to your other recipes soon. THANKS!
How awesome I'm so glad ! I agree with you sometimes it's cheaper to just buy it, but somehow the love and care that goes in your product takes it to another level. I know yours did and I'm so glad to hear! Have a wonderful holiday season!
I'm 73 years old and have been cooking and baking since I was 8 when my mother (who hated cooking) turned me loose! Your style of cooking is perfect, a woman after my own heart, keep up the good work darlin' as cookin' and bakin' has become a lost art.
Lol I'm not far behind you, and I had no choice but to start baking at 7. It was either that or we all would've ended up with food poisoning regularly from my mother's baking. She burned everything she touched somehow
This was divine!!! The browned butter is a stroke of genius, and the caramel sauce for the apples is inspired. Another thing which makes this recipe great is the total absence of rolled oats. Oatmeal is fine as a breakfast cereal or a cookie ingredient, but it does NOT belong in apple pies, crisps or crumbles! I wish more people realized this. Thank goodness, you did!
Just made this crumble using your recipe and directions. It is amazing. I forgot to compress the crumble together before refrigerating it but it tastes just as good (will remember to do that next time). And I definitely think that the browning of the butter DOES make a difference. Thanks so much for sharing your secrets.
Okay, I just took this out of the oven. Omygoodness, my Golden Retriever had his nose in the air once the smell of that burnt butter started to smell like carmel which is halfway through the baking. All of a sudden I took in a deep breath and walla, there it was, that yummy smell. Smells like Thanksgiving🥰 Thankyou Laura, this is a KEEPER. Max says so🐕 11-19-22
I am from Guatemala, married to a US guy. I have been making this since its so easy. I love it. Every time I make it I always watch your video. My husband and kids love it!!! Thank you ❤
I already knew about browned sugar but never thought it would be good in a crumble as most recipes call for cold butter..it does smell delightful. I just threw in a bit of oatmeal and drizzled caramel on top before baking. I am taking it to my church tomorrow do won't get to taste it yet..but im pretty excited. Thanks for sharing ❤
Absolutely awesome! I baked this yesterday and it was absolutely delicious. I had gotten the assignment to bring an apple crisp to Thanksgiving dinner ... I will be bringing this! Many thanks.
Well, I've made apple crisp thousands of times in my old life with these same ingredients and I have to say you're not kidding. Browning the butter makes a HUGE difference. Great tip.
All purpose flour, brown sugar, cinnamon powder and mix. Put one stick of butter in pan and heat on stove and brown the butter. Turn heat off when it browns a little. Add vanilla extract to mixture and add brwon melted butter. Then cool the mixture in fridge for 30 to 45 minutes so it solidifies. Add brown sugar to cut apples and some lemon juice. Then cook on stove on medium heat with cover for four to five minutes in butter till apples r tender and then add little all purpose flour . Then take it off stove and put in baking dish. Then sprinkle with the crumble mixture. Put in oven for thrity minutes at 400 degrees .
It’s been several years now since u made this video here. But I just found it yesterday. Today I followed your instructions and made this apple crumble. Had a few fresh blueberries that I added. Well….it came out so very delicious I have practically eaten the crumble that filled a whole 9” pie plate. Seriously. Delicious ! Barbara in Alabama.
MY KIDS LOVE THIS!! Made a tray with 8 large green apples and it got devoured in minutes, before it had the chance to cool down. Now about to start another tray with 12 apples. Should last a day? I searched for a recipe that doesn't involve making a crust, as I have failed miserably in all my attempts, which is why I'm so glad I came across your video. Like how you brown the butter, great secret tip. I don't usually nail things on the first try but the many compliments from kids made me look like a chef (and they hardly believe I actually cooked it). I'm bookmarking this as it will be my go-to in the future. Hope your kids enjoy your apple crumble as much as mine did.
Just a quick follow up: made a 2nd batch shortly after my kids devoured the first, this time using 12 large green apples. They ate some in the morning, packed some for school and I'm sure there won't be much left from this large tray by the end of the day. This recipe is great. And since there's no crust to worry about, virtually fail proof. Thanks again for sharing.
Yummy apple crumble! Hello from South India, we call this melted butter ,,Ghee in India, and we simply cannot do without it,in our day to day cooking. Thanks for sharing your lovely recipe. God bless
The senior center got a shipment of apples…they have been loading us up with them. I remembered saving your recipe last fall and didn’t want those apples to go to waste. It smelled wonderful baking! It tasted better than it smelled! Thank you for sharing this delicious recipe!
I was making this at night in a pinch so I spread the crumble on a cookie sheet with parchment paper and stuck it in the freezer for 5 minutes. My freezer has a freeze boost mode so it may take a little longer for other freezers. Still worked out! Oh and the latest smell!!! Mmmmmmmm!!!!
Eating this as I type. OMG this is by far my favorite apple recipe. It smells amazing and it is sooooo good. Thank you so much I will definitely make this year after year.
The recipe looks delicious. I'll try making it in a cast iron skillet. But, Why throw away 1/4 of each apple with the core. Plus there are health benefits of keeping at least some of the skins on the apple pieces.
My grandmother used to make seedless purple grape Cobbler! She grew them in her yard. If you ever get the chance to try it! Please do a video on it!! People never missed out on a dish with French Vanilla ice cream. :)
Hi, I came across your channel and this recipe, I'm 75 and you sounded so cute and happy and excided making it, and it looked so delicious I had to try it and I did. And now I make it often, very often, Thank you so much,
Can you use frozen apples in this recipe? It looks absolutely amazing! I love the brown butter tip. Other recipes I've made using brown butter sure does kick things up a few notches! Thanks so much for sharing this! I also love that there's not so much sugar in it! Thanks again!!!
Hello! I personally wouldn't recommend using frozen apples because it will break down too much and won't have the bite to it. You can try it if it's all you have, but it might be too mushy and not a great texture. I hope it works out! Let me know how it goes, I hope you can get fresh apples to use! ❤️❤️❤️
I make fruit crumble for quick weeknight dessert. Will try using brown butter next time. I have used brown butter in chocolate chip cookies which is delish. My shortcut is to add the flour with the dry ingredients so sauce already done. The crumble hardens as it cools anyway. I do let butter cool some, to avoid burning myself when adding crumble on the fruit filling. Thanks for sharing.😇
A few days ago i baked what my daughter described as the best apple crumble she's had; but i was unhappy with the crumble. This is the crumble recipe I've been looking for. Will try it this week and update😊
Made this today, sooo good. I will make it again very soon, and will try fresh peaches next season. Absolutely loved it. (I think it could use a little salt, in the topping and filling). God bless you! Thank you🙏 for a winner!❤️
I have a recipe for Apple Crisp, which is fantastic, but I never thought to brown the butter first. Your recipe sounds delicious!!! BTW, I use browned butter and salt on popcorn and sometimes mix in a little bit of honey. Sooooo good!!! TYFS!!! 🌸
I have been making this for a while I make it with her Asian pears I didn’t know what to call it because it wasn’t a crisp and it wasn’t a cobbler but you got it it’s a crumble so good
Well, I haven’t made this recipe yet because I just discovered the recipe. I do make lots of recipes making Browned Butter. It’s amazing this little process makes a recipe take on a whole new lite! If you haven’t tried this yet, make the browned butter and pour it over pancakes and waffles. Sooo Gooood
I'm planning to do it for Thanksgiving I hope it taste The way it looks it looks great Cause I love Apple pie and it's very easy to do it wish me luck Many blessings all my love Thank you for sharing
One of our local restaurants (UK) used to d an apple crumble and that had a caramel sauce layer beneath the crumble and it was delicious, caramel with apples and crumble, just lush.
Love this recipe with NO oats. Best Apple crumble or crisp I believe is WITHOUT oats. The oats detract from the crumbles taste and the sweetness of the dish. (Respectfully disagree. …… no oats)
Can I cook the apples first and leave it overnight in the fridge then assemble them together in the morning? Do I have to reheat it in a pan first before putting it in the oven in the morning?
Actually, Indians use ghee what we call clarified butter. Because commercial ghee is so expensive, this is how I make mine. Butter on low heat and let it melt and 'cook' until the salt sediments settle and the liquid becomes clear. The smell of course is divine.
Omygoodness, watching for the 2nd time around 🥰 I gotta make this TODAY😍 and will get back to you how I know its going to smell like Thanksgiving , Bless You
I love your recipe. Thanks for sharing it. I had trouble wondering what size baking dish to prepare. It would be helpful if you gave the size you use for this recipe. I did double the apple mixture before baking it. However I will make a note to double all ingredients. It was delicious. 👏👏👏
Oh My Word! You were right it smells absolutely amazing , I haven’t cooked it yet but if it is anything like the topping I’ll eat the whole thing! Thanks for sharing love❤ it!

Love love your crumble super easy and very tasty, just a suggestion bartenders friend does a awesome job on you Reveware!
You convinced me, I subbed!
My Greek mother-in-law showed me years ago to brown the butter and toss pasta with it and then add grated cheese....
Makes incredible difference 👏
I am Greek and my mother also did it.
Just bake it.

Yummy apple crumble! Hello from South India, we call this melted butter ,,Ghee in India, and we simply cannot do without it,in our day to day cooking. Thanks for sharing your lovely recipe. God bless
Ghee is different from.melted butter. Ghee is clarified butter, much better in taste and more healthy..

I usually don’t like crumble topping (esp don’t like w oatmeal!)but I def want to try this version. Thx!
Same ! I'm not a fan of the oatmeal either in it
Instead of oats i add a handful of cornflakes
That crumble looks scrumptious. I’ve noted the browned butter, new to me.

You are absolutely right ! The butter with the flour is smelling amazing. I am using whole wheat flour instead of the white one to make it healthier!❤
My husband L💖ved it so much! Thank you for the recipe 😁
Gd idea to melt the butter the way you did but you do need to add some rolled oats or ground Almonds to make a crumble!
Some like oats in their crumble , personally I prefer it without but you can definitely add it if you like!
Love this recipe with NO oats. Best Apple crumble or crisp I believe is WITHOUT oats.
The oats detract from the crumbles taste and the sweetness of the dish.
(Respectfully disagree. …… no oats)
Crumble=no oats
Crisp=oats
Looks fantastic. I don't like crust so this is a great alternative. ❤❤❤❤❤
This looks fabulous--can't wait to try it! I am curious, why does the crumble need to be cold? What happens if it's not? Thanks.
It won't be crumbly ..just bake more like a cookie type
Omg the apples are slap your mama good! The crumble is delicious. Thank you so much.
Making this tomorrow, since I have 4 beautiful apples to use up. Thanks for sharing the recipe!
I've been looking for a recipe like this. Thanks.
Thank you for sharing,I definitely will try out your recipe
Can I cook the apples first and leave it overnight in the fridge then assemble them together in the morning? Do I have to reheat it in a pan first before putting it in the oven in the morning?
Cooking the night before should be fine, don't reheat, it'll overcook the apples
I tried it! My first time, and it came out perrefect! Thanks
That crumble looks scrumptious, and I happen to have all the ingredients! ❤️
This is truly yummy. Thank you very much for sharing this recipe with us!!!!!

Is the butter salted? Also, can you put a pie shell on the bottom?
It could be salted or unsalted..and yes you absolutely can
Yes,both fine
Can you change the flour out for almond flour and the sugar for a sweetener?
