As we can barely afford to use heating in the UK, a tip I use to help the dough to rise is to stand the bowl on a hot water bottle. It works a treat. Another great, simple recipe, thank you.
That is genius! I've often been frustrated with finding somewhere warm enough to rise the dough, without putting the heating on and warming the entire house.
I've thoroughly enjoyed watching all of your videos. You have made simple, but tasty dishes that anyone could make.....and they are economical. That's a very nice service you are providing to many people! Thank you!
Great channel! There is something very therapeutic about the delivery. I'm from Yorkshire. All we ever had was homemade food, and that still applies today. That's probably why my cholesterol has always been good.
From South Yorkshire here. Used to watch Mr Paul’s Pantry but sadly he has passed. This fills a very big void nicely. I used to love the thick crust meat and potato pie every Sunday in winter. That and “ash” in a giant Yorkshire pudding.
I love the fact that you don't feel the need to wear gloves or use fancy, expensive gadgets in your videos. You cook and prepare your food the same way regular folk do. I appreciate that. All your recipes are clear, basic and delicious. I've made most of them already. Now, I'm ready for pizza. Thank you again. Regards from NC, USA.
Yes, I haven't had to buy anything extra to make your recipes. I've used the stuff I already had. I did buy sultanas but only after I made your fruit scones without them first. The sultanas did add that extra something to the scones and were delicious. @@BakingOnABudget
It just kills me hearing how inexpensive the ingredients are in England. I’m in the Seattle, Washington area and our cost is about triple what you pay. Nevertheless, I will be trying your wonderful looking recipe. Love your channel!
When I was stationed in Dusseldorf there was a pizza restaurant where you could stand outside and watch them make the pizza. They used exactly the same method as you to spread the dough out and the 'up in the air' bit was very rare. They also recommended to use less sauce and cheese but to spread them to within about 1cm of the edge. I think tomorrow is going to be pizza day 😁👍
I have to say I love watching your videos. I'm originally from the North East but left to live in Asia about 42 years ago. Watching you brings back memories of the methods and the food my Mam and Nana used to make. A huge thank you! Also, no fancy machinery or ingredients is very helpful. Looking forward to next week's recipe.
Thanks a lot, I was also inspired by watching my Nan, Great Aunt and Mother bake in each others kitchens when I was kid. Great memories. Hope you try the pizza.
great deep pan pizza. im sure if you made the dough thinner you could get 3 pizzas from this and would taste just as good and be a little cheaper. But £ 2.51 for that whole pizza, could easily do 2 people for a dinner....thanks for another great video!!!!!!
Made the apple pie and it was spot on with some custard! Any chance in the price break down you could list what the shopped ingredients cost then break down the portion cost? Keep them coming.
It's always great to hear that others are trying the recipes and enjoying them. Thank you that pizza looked just so delicious so much better that what you get in the shop I have a pizza stone they are good I am really loving your channel and find myself looking forward to what you bake each week .x
For one pizza, you could bake it in a pan on the stove instead of in the oven thus bringing the cost down even more. Unless, of course, you bake two or more, in which case makes switching on the oven worth it.

Love all your recipes but I don’t agree with having to use bread flour plain works brilliantly for pizza dough bread rolls and loaves and cinnamon scrolls. Also we don’t need to bloom instant yeast?
Thanks a lot, I like to bloom the yeast just to make sure it is still active, and yes you could use plain flour but I think the extra gluten gives the bread a bit more body, but yes either would do.
You can get tin tomatoes cheaper than 50p you can get at 35p for 400g (Aldi) the tomato paste is 59p in Aldi for a tube. Aldi do a pack of pepperoni for £1.09p for 120g so think that may be cheaper so can drop the price for this pizza. As I prefer thin crust pizza, would it just be a case of of spreading the dough thinner?
Yes. Also reduce cooking time. You should probably look up a thin crust pizza recipe online and use the cooking time for that as a reference.

I used to make my own pizzas for the family before they became widely available In the shops and takeaways. They always went down well and everyone could choose their own toppings. Thank you, even though I live on my own now I will have a go.
You could always make a smaller pizza and probably get 3 out of the same amount of dough Hope you give it a go.Thanks for watching
Lovely. Your scone mix could be used as an alternative, or yesterday's bread buttered and rebaked. My easy bake yeast from the supermarket goes straight in the flour.
Yes there are a few alternatives, I like to froth the yeast just to make sure it's still active. Thanks for watching
