I like how comfortable you are in this video. You look so calm and relaxed. More branding videos, please! 😁
Quick suggestion, please add up the videos you are mentioning on your cards so your audience can go straight to that specific video instantly. Those videos deserve more views!! Few of my favorites ❤
Thanks Ehm. Good suggestion. I use a card "template" meaning the same cards across all my videos. I usually have a link to the video mentioned in the description. And cards are time consuming to set up - cumbersome - so I go the description route. If I missed any let me know... I think I missed this 9 Design Elements one - I'll be sure to plug it in.
Thank you so much for all the videos you make Phillip! These tips and tricks videos always show me something that I didn't know before. As someone trying to pursue a career in corporate finance and asset management, it is crucial that I am showing the best version of myself at all times to possible employers. Your videos help guide me with this exactly and I always look forward to coming back to your channel to learn. Keep up the great work!
Personal branding is about GIVING !! Very well said
YES!
Thanks a lot Philip! I especially like the part on "giving", because I have realized that it is what really enables us to find those that need our help.
I should have said: Give, then listen. People will tell you what helped them - and then amplify that message. That's what I do.
Thank you for another fantastic video! Some of these elements I already have in place; now my main thing is to put in the work over time.
Absolutely Andre - build over time - evolve and improve.
Great advice, thanks! Like many creatives, i become paralysed expecting perfection from my own branding / website. The consequence is i never really get started.. Inspired to get something out there
Your biggest enemy is your own perfectionism. I know mine is. You have to accept imperfection and consider it a foundation to grow on - just start and get better over time. Look at my first videos! Just put it out there.
@Hamza Nouar Not sure what you mean. Who's critiquing others?
@@PhilipVanDusen This is a message that I'd like to put on my desk as a daily reminder 😀
Thank you! I'm new to your channel. Your videos are fantastic! And you have this great knack for teaching.
Prashan, probably because I used to be a teacher! LOL. Plus being a creative executive leading big teams for 25 years helps, too!
I needed words like these from person I admire for quite some time now. Thank you.
Christopher - just do it. Make it easy on yourself. One thing at a time - build slowly.
Very important like you said to give, give, give. Providing value is so important.
That's like my biggest mantra! Give with no expectation of return and the good kharma will follow.
This video was good. Udacity has this video tagged in my Digital Marketing class. I made sure to subscribe to it.
Amazing info as always. Very inspiring. Thank you.
Thanks Camilo! Good to see you back my friend.
Thank you! That's inspiring and a great advice! I'm 25 now, working as a Junior Art Director and just started building my personal brand. I posted two videos on RUclips for young creative talents. They learn what to do after school and how they achieve their goal to be successful in the creative business. During the next weeks I'm going to translate my videos via subtitles to make my content available for international people. Right now it’s only in German! You are a great inspiration and with your videos I learn what to do next!
Very Cool Oliver - I love it when I hear about people just starting out in video. That was me only 3 years ago. It's hard and takes crazy commitment - but it will pay off.
@@PhilipVanDusen I strongly believe it will! I try to keep the commitment as high as possible. I notice that I love doing videos so I will always keep going
This video was definitely very helpful & taught me alot just like your videos...
Keep it up.
Thanks Dashia! Good to see you again...
Thank you some much for this inspiring video!
Thanks Tatyana 🕉❤
Inspiring yet relaxing.
Love the backsound 💜
Cool. I always wonder if the background music is annoying. I don't use it often - mainly on my less edited "vlog" videos like this one.
Great description of personal branding!
People try to make it so complicated - I've been getting a lot of comments with people being overwhelmed about how to get started and I just decided to break it down!🚀🚀💎
Do a video about the difference between a copyright, patent....and branding cuz I am kinda stuck !! Great videos !!
Great idea. Thx!
Wonderful video and a lot of help to me and thank you
B H, Thanks so much!~ Can you do me a favor as a small thank you? Please share my video with a friend or two! I'm trying to build my subscribers. More to come!
Great! Salutes from Brazil!
Salute from NYC Rikardo!
Great video as always! I have a question, What do AD agencies think when you have many personal design projects on the portfolio?
Good question! It depends how early you are in your career. Coming out of school - everything in your book is essentially a personal/school/imaginary project. Over time, your goal is to replace that work with "real" project work. But that can take years...AD agencies will understand if you have personal projects later in your career as long as it is balanced with real work.
Thx ever so much
Thank you!
Diego Mendoza, You're very welcome. Be sure to check out the other videos in my catalog. There's tons of great stuff there!
Thank you again for another cool video 💕✨ also what is the book on top called like? Looks like a book I wanna read
"Entrepreneurial You" by Dorie Clark. It's good.
Thank you so much ✨👩🏾💻!
Thank you

You’re the best 😊
Thanks Ahmed - glad you think so, and YOU are the best for watching!
from persia, thanks for guide us
Hey Nasser! Glad you liked it!👊🚀
Brilliant!
Personal Branding is such an important topic...
It's your business plan, see?
Thanks Yvonne Ebbi!
While I believe having a personal website is ideal, it is not a "must have." Example: many RUclipsrs have massive personal brands with almost no mention of a website. Sales people can do the same with a great LinkedIn profile and email list.
Edwin - "don't build your brand on rented land" (watch my video on this: ruclips.net/video/SOvqCccxkNM/видео.html). Social platforms have a way of sunsetting - just ask the thousands of people who lost multiple subscriber followings and multi-$$$ businesses on Google+, MySpace, Digg or especially Vine. They don't let you access your subs email addresses (just like here on RUclips). If RUclips went belly up or changed its policies all my 150k subs would go poof. Without a website how do you build an email list? How do you offer lead magnets? Sure, some people can get by on LinkedIn - but I stand by my recommendation.
Simply superb.. You rocks Mr. PVD 👍
Would you also like to share the secret tips about your fitness 😉
My fitness? Like how I'm not an obese old guy? My secret? Pay attention to your calorie intake, walk a lot and go to the gym 3x a week!
@@PhilipVanDusen that's awesome 👌 thanks Mr. PVD 👍 LOVE AND HUGS... KEEP ROCKING 🤘
Very helpful video again! So you say a personal website is essential for every designer/creative?
In short: yes. Unless you want to be a agency/corporate designer your whole life. And even then you are at the mercy of the company, agency, economy for your personal "identity". Every designer has a "shelf life" - it is a VERY age-ist industry. Everyone ages-out. Where are all the 50 year-old CD's? You're right. There aren't many. A personal brand is - above all- an insurance policy.
@@PhilipVanDusen You're absolutely right. Thank you for your answer. :)
I love the glasses that you were wearing in this video!!! May I have details of those glasses?
Warby Parker
@@PhilipVanDusen Thank you!
How to build personal brand and what all social media platforms to use with a website?
Annkur Kumar, You're very welcome. Be sure to check out the other videos in my catalog. There's tons of great stuff there!
@@PhilipVanDusen thanks for response. But sorry, that is not helpful at all.
@@AnnkurKumar My response mirrors the breadth of your question. Virtually every video I have done in my catalog covers the thousands of details you need to address to build a personal brand - and to try to provide a quick answer to you to 2 such expansive questions would be useless. Additionally, the content in this video itself outlines the simplest version of the answers to your questions I could possibly offer.
Philip, do you have profile on Behance? Can you write me a link?
Гугль в помощь ¿
I don't. everything is on my website. link in the description.
Sir please help me sir i got a email to do a universal form for a client.
THIS IS THE EMAIL
( Create a universal briefing form which can be used by any designer to get briefs from their clients or managers, etc.
The client has a visual/idea/direction in mind and we want the form to translate that. The output is an icon, illustration or a hero image.)
Can u say what are the question we wanna ask to a client if they need a website.? If i did i get a job sir.
Check this video out, it will help: ruclips.net/video/YvOuugfgN1M/видео.html
