Another great tutorial showing what this awesome laser can do!

This was a great tutorial. I have been rather scared to try this but I think you covered all the concerns I have. I have an stool S1 40 watt so I will have different settings. Thanks again. Maybe I can upload a picture when I'm done. I'm interested in the chuck adapter you purchased. Please indicate which one it is on Etsy.

@@margohenderson2877 thank you! I hadn’t found any good tutorials for diode lasers for the tapered tumblers. The Etsy listing I used for the chucks is: www.etsy.com/au/listing/1588414706/threaded-lid-jig-for-laser-rotary-for
      and for my template: thecraftysocialiteau.etsy.com/listing/1754397043

I'm confused on how the laser can burn perfectly thru the coatings with 2 different height settings of the cup

By bringing the base of the cup up toward the laser head it does mean there is some variance in the height of the cup but it is within the limits of it being in focus when it engraves.
For many pieces when I engrave I actually ‘over focus or defocus’ by raising the laser head an extra 2mm than the suggested height for focus. It helps to blend the lines for a smooth engrave but still with crisp lines on the edges!
If you want to test it out try engraving a scrap piece of timber with a word and try the over focus method. I think you’ll be really impressed with the outcome!
