Thanks so much! I’m sure you’ll definitely see the difference between the 10 and 22w for engraving however I’m really happy with the results I get. I do cutting boards and less intricate engraves than some other people but they always look crisp. Glad I was able to help on this one! Thanks for the kind feedback.

I’m interested to get the rotary set up and it will be soon. I’m wanting to add the feet and disable the drawer as I use my standard 22w with timber longer than the unit itself 😅 I’ve not had experience with Ikier but interesting they’ve gone to a 70w. I don’t cut overly thick items in general so will be interested to see how people utilize the higher 60w power for projects.

And the Ikier has a powered z-axis that can be controlled by Lightburn that allows you to lower the laser by small increments after each pass to be able to cut more efficiently and with less charring on the sides. Both are really good lasers, I may just wait till Christmas to see what each company introduces as their Version 2's. I have a 10W Diode and a Fiber laser that will keep me busy in the meantime.

The fiber lasers really interest me! I’m interested to see what you think of the Pro. I do use the focusing tool and also over focus 1-2mm for a few engraves such as acrylic to get a smooth finish. I do like the ability to play around with the focus and have done a ramp test on mine to see my optimal focal point too as every machine can be slightly different.

Thanks for the feedback. I also use a lot of thin materials around the 3-6mm range for my products too. I know many people think diodes are slow lasers but I’ve been impressed with what the 22w is capable of. Appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment and hope you enjoy the Falcon!

I already own the Falcon 22w laser and love the engrave quality on that. The spot size is definitely larger for the 40 and 60w so I wouldn’t recommend engraving at the 40w for anything too detailed other than blocks of engrave. Even the suggested parameters basically say to move down to the 22w for engraving. The block text on the aluminum wasn’t bad but you could see a difference. I will test out the 1.6 w but for engraving in a business I’m not sure the 1.6w will offer time efficiency but would no doubt give a sensational result. Agree, my instinct is the laser will be in a different spot if you were to change the heads over but I will test that!

I currently have a 10W diode with a small 0.08mm x 0.08mm spot size and I can create some intricate score marks and cut some pretty intricate designs, I just want to make sure I can achieve the same quality with the 22W setting. Maybe you can make a video showing intricate cuts/designs in the 22W mode?

Hi! Yes, this one was cut on the 22w power. I did do some tests at all powers yesterday and the results were very exciting. I thought 60w would be too powerful for the acrylic. I’ll be posting the full review of the 60w in action in the next 24 hours if you’re interested.
