Quick and simple way to make baby back ribs
in the Instant Pot, coming up.
So folks, I have for you a quick, and easy way
to make ribs in the Instant Pot.
You can use any type of seasoning you choose.
I prefer to use Weber dry smoke rub,
and I'm gonna also use some garlic powder.
And I have one onion sliced in half.
So what you wanna do is you wanna take your
dry rub and put it on your ribs like that.
Just coat 'em real nice.
Get it in there.
So before I put these ribs on this baking sheet,
I went ahead and took off the back membrane
because I want my ribs to fall off the bone.
So you just season it up like that real nice.
(mellow orchestral music)
So before you put your ribs into your Instant Pot,
you wanna make sure you have a trivet that's a
little basket like this.
And it just sits at the bottom of the Instant Pot
to keep whatever you're putting into the
Instant Pot from touching the bottom.
You want to put a cup of water inside of your
Instant Pot before you place the ribs onto
that trivet.
So I have premeasured out one cup of water
that I'm going to put in.
Then I'm gonna take my rib and I'm gonna roll it
with the meat side in.
This is the way I do it.
Then I'm going to set it right on top of
that basket.
Take one half of the onion, set it in there.
Take the other half, put it on this side here.
Let's get those off.
Then I'm going to seal up my Instant Pot.
After I have placed my lid on the Instant Pot,
I ensure that the vents are closed.
Then press manual, you want to increase your time
to 25 minutes.
Make sure your pressure's on high.
Now we're ready to remove our ribs from the
Instant Pot and place them on this baking sheet.
So first we need to release the pressure.
But be careful; the steam's awfully hot.
While this one is releasing steam, go ahead
and heat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
While that's preheating, let's go ahead
and take them out.
After you have removed your ribs from
the Instant Pot,
use any barbecue sauce of your choice
and just brush them with sauce.
Once you're done brushing the sauce onto your ribs
you want to put them in your oven for about
ten to fifteen minutes.
(lively orchestral music)
After ten minutes in the oven, you have a
beautiful rack of ribs.

What did you like best about this Video? Thanks for watching. Enjoy the recipe
Rod R Elmore it's quick and to the point!
+Tameicsha Whitley thank you
I just made my ribs just like this. I loved that this vid was quick and to the point.
Tondra Hailey that is Awesome! feel free to post a video or photo of your creation on FB at The Rod Elmore Show
Good demonstration and easy to follow instructions and not to long. Good Job
great video...no bs just right to the point.....easy to digest!
Thank you kindly. I look forward to trying more recipes.
Just an agreement on getting to the point. Too many videos have 50% of the time with people giving their opinion instead of information we came for. Thanks
this is also what I️ liked about the channel. The ingredients and what to do.
When you’re furring to turn the oven on, you’re saying the broiler, right?
I love ribs and this great man taught me how to make the best ribs! I ALWAYS go back to this video! THANK YOU SIR AND GOD BLESS YOU!
Made some ribs yesterday!!! Followed the directions perfectly and got perfect ribs!! the whole family thinks I am a rib God!! LOL Again, many thanks Rod.
That is awesome. Congratulations.
What model
Ok
I’m surprised at how many viewers tell you how to put the ribs in the pot! Geeez, people, don’t you think he knows how to arrange everything to his liking. And cleaning 2pots is super easy. They clean up quick & very easy so that’s no problem. If you people are going to instruct on that, then why are you even watching?? Go on to a video that you need for help instead of watching what you already THINK you know all about!! Are you just watching to catch any slip ups ??? Rod is doing a wonderful, informative job & l have faith that he knows what he’s doing.
By the way l made ribs exactly how instructed & my family thought they were outstanding & wanted to know if l would make them again the next day. The whole family, including picky grandchildren, just kept raving. I don’t think that has ever happened with so many people at the same meal. Thanks for a great method of making tremendous ribs. I’ve made them several times since with the same results !!! I’m making them again now & the aroma is making me moan. Ooh boy !!😋😋😋😛🤩🤗👍👍😋😋👍👍 l really appreciate the classy music as well. Keep it up with all these great instructions & choice of music. You’re the best !!!
Katherine Haught, TWO Instant Pots = serious cook. BTW, I didn't get my invitation to feast on those ribs. I guess he must have lost my address . . .
nemo227, I would have brought dessert too😕!
LoL. I don't know how i missed this post. I am so sorry. I enjoy having folks over.
Ribs turned out great. While the ribs were in the oven I set the instant pot to sauté. Wanting to make use of the leftover broth. I then added collard greens to the hot broth. Perfect side dish to go with the ribs. 😋👍🏻
Good stuff!
Good Lawd!!! I wish I had been there lol
Great idea. This will be my first time using my IP. How long did the greens stay in on sauté ?
@@SLAYLORDFOCKER I cook them till they just start to wilt. So maybe a couple of minutes. I stir them around to get them all wilted.
@@MrsBridgette2012 I'm convinced you don't know how to make greens, but that's an interesting idea I guess. Greens take a long time to cook though. You can't make good greens in just "a couple minutes."
Great job. So nice to have someone get to the point with "just the facts" instead going through family history and too much cuteness that is never funny. Definitely will use this recipe and thanks for being brief and to the point.
My pleasure. Thank you for watching
ha ha
a little jab at that sisters channel?
I did ribs in the instant pot last night.
A few changes.
I did a light brushing of liquid smoke on the surface of the meat before I applied my rub.
I used fresh apple cider as the liquid in the bottom of the pan.
I did mine meat side out (but it wasn't for any specific reason). It turned out well but I'll try your way next time.
I did some with sauce and left others as dry rub only before putting them in the oven.
Dude! Best ribs I've ever made!
+Rob Baker your way sounds mouth on watering. I too like to try different variations of a recipe just to see how it turns out. Great job! Please share our
Channel with your social network. We really enjoy the collaboration.
Way to go with adding other ingredients. Love it.
@@CW0gamer nope, delicious!
Love the classical music. Thanks for the video
Thank you.
Rod, I made your recipe ribs and they were the best ribs I've ever had. My wife likes the taste of ribs, but not eating the meat from the bone. But, after she took one bite, she said, "Man! These are the best baby back ribs I've ever had! The meat falls off of the bone! I'm making another batch today to share with a buddy during a Wildcard game today. Can't wait to see his reaction! Oh, and this was the first meal I'd ever cooked in an InstantPot. Great recipe and great video, sir! Short, sweet, and delicious, just like the ribs! I like how you played the classical music while you were rubbing the spices in. Thanks!
WOW. It is an honor to receive such kind words. I am extremely happy to hear this outcome. I am encouraged by your results and believe your future batches will only get better. Great job my friend.
Short and straight to the point Rod!! I've been looking for a good instapot recipe and here it is. Many thanks.
The way you said “season up the ribs like that real nice” it reminded me of Bob Ross teaching me how to paint a tree 😂 Thank you for the video!
😄😄 you are welcome
I'm watching the Bob Ross documentary on Netflix right now 😅🤣🤣
Not just any tree, but a happy little tree! Unfortunately, all that bob ross did fire us, the evil people behind the scenes robbed his family Dry! Greedy thieves
THANK YOU THANK YOU for not yakking on. Straight to the point, simple and clear instructions. ❤
LOL. Thank you.
LoL, those yakking are annoying 😂
I just made two extra meaty racks for a party, followed your recipe exactly and everyone loved it! It was so easy! I used salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika for my rub and used about 2 Tbsp of apple cider vinegar with the cup of water in the instant pot. Did only one rack at a time since I only have one appliance but it was still easy since it’s so quick.
I’m used to racks of ribs taking 4+ hours, now I can have them whenever I want! I also used the instant pot for corn on the cob to go with the ribs and they came out awesome (programmed it for only 2 minutes on steam setting).
Yum. It sounds like you are a pro. So exciting. What other dishes have you prepared in your instant pot.
Did this for dinner last night and it works great! 👍
Great to hear! Thank you for sharing.
So quick and easy! I love the step by step and how you get to the point without dragging it out! You know what people want ☺ Love your videos!
Season the back side of the ribs.
Great recipe, didn't have the insert so made a base out of foil. Tender, fall off the bone perfection! Added some soup beans and water to the drippings, made for excellent seasoning. Thanks! ❤
I came across this video today. It was my first time making ribs in the instant pot. Wow! They turned out great! So juicy and tender! Thank you
Awesome. You are welcome. Thank you for watching. Remember to share this channel. Cheers
I’ve always used one and a half cups of water and by the way, I thank you for the music in your video!
A straight-to-the-point video on how to do a good job on BBRs.
Thank you, thank you, and again, thank you!
You are welcome my friend. Thank you so much for watching.
I am a terrible cook! My husband just bought me an instant pot. I followed your instructions & my ribs turned out perfectly. I liked how your video was to the point and easy to follow. Thank you
I am so happy for you. I think you will enjoy my othrt videos. Thank you for watching. Cheers
your video is all class !!!!...the beautiful music was so refreshing. glad to know someone out there still enjoys the good things in life. what a pleasant way of presenting your program. i really love it. your voice, total communication and style is with beyond appraisal. you are very creative by doing it your way.....being you.....not what others do. thank you for this gift to us.
Thank you so much. We are so happy that you came across our channel. Please share our channel. Once again Thank you.
I wish I could like this video every time I've watched it over the last 2-3 years.. It's always my go to and it never fails.
Me Too. This is so exciting to hear. Thank you so much for watching my videos.
Excellent presentation! Just thought I'd mention another way to finish the ribs: After dressing the cooked ribs with BBQ sauce, I simply broil mine on the middle rack for 4-6 minutes to caramelize. In the oven, I also place parchment paper under the ribs for easier cleanup (which can also make for nice presentation if placed under the ribs in a basket or bowl when serving!). Thanks for your work; quick and to the point and you have an excellent presentation style!
+incub8 thanks for the feedback. Another viewer suggested broiling also. I eill give that a shot next time.
Like the music, nice and slow and not screaming at you.
Love the video! Very professional, detailed and right to the point. No unnecessary blabber or braggadocio, just a well constructed recipe video! Subbed!
+ebonygentleman79 Thank you so much for watching. please let me know how your dish turns out. Thank you again for watching my videos.
You the man Rod. Every other video was some huge production with limited direction. You got me ready to go in under 5 mins. I realize this is 4years later, I usually smoke em, but you got me to perfect ribs no sweat.
I am so glad you found me. I am a pretty simple cook. I really enjoy the feedback. Continue to cook well friend. Thank you for watching.
Dang, this looks bangin! I never made ribs but now I can try it in my instant pot
How did your ribs turn out?
What I loved about your video is that the directions were straight to the point. Not a lot of useless chitchat. Im trying your recipe today!
+Sylvia Romero thank you so much for stopping by. we ask that you share our videos.
One of my favorites. You can do a little liquid smoke or apple vinegar in the water for some extra flavor.
Yeah I use a 50/50 mix of beer and apple juice with a little liquid smoke. I’ll have to throw in the onion like the video to try that out.
I think you will like it. Let me know how it turns out.
I always throw in a can of Coke instead of water.
@@eb626 I use Coke, cherry Coke, or Dr. Pepper mixed with beef broth and a little liquid smoke when making pulled pork in the instant pot. After the pork shoulder is done I’ll shred it up and add BBQ sauce to the liquid and simmer it until it all thickens up.
Liquid smoke is a nice added touch.
What I like best about this video is He is straight to it. No fluff just here it is and how its done!!! Great job!!!!
I try to give the info needed with a splash of humor.
I made this tonight with my own water, apple juice instead of water and a splash of apple cider vinegar. Perfection. Thank you.
That sounds delicious...
That’s exactly what I would use …apple cider vinegar and pork is delicious
Thanks for the easy instructions! Also the classical music was a nice touch!
You are quite welcome. Thank you for watching.
I just purchased an instapot today. I can not wait to try this recipe. Thank you for your work.
Richard i look forward to hearing about your creations
+Richard Holland how are things going with your #instantpot
With the exception of the onion, I followed this recipe to the tee, and I have to say.. You, sir, deserve a medal. Absolutely fantastic!
Excellent. So good to hear. Thank you for watching.
I have let my ribs set for about 10 minutes with the rub on them before placing them in the instant pot. They have come out soooooo good that we didn't even add any sauce. Did notice that you had a slow release for about 15 to 18 minutes.. Great video, great ribs!!!!!.
I was wondering did he start releasing as it had 15 minutes left?
Loved this video , straight to the point , amazing audio . Going to make these tonight . Thank you
How did your meal turn out?
I love your video. It helped myself more than any video I watched. No gimmicks or sale pitches.
Thanks for watching
Art Attack no sales pitch? You must have missed the amazon affiliate link.
First recipe I ever made in my IP long ago, and I still come back to it for a refresher!
That's great!
So glad I found this video! I had never even imagined making ribs before…ever. For a first timer, this was so simple to prepare and it was a BIG hit at my family dinner. Thank you!
Wonderful! I am so excited for you...
Video is easy to watch. I am hooked on Rod 's approach to teaching us all how to use the instant Pot. Music is a great touch. Voice is calming. Thank you!!!!
Thank you very much
Excellent Video! Quick and to the point.
+Glitzy Glam thanks for viewing my channel. I hope you find mire that interests you.
I love those Weber seasonings....the Honey Garlic is 🔥
Agreed. They are quite tasty.
Hell ya son..... You got me with that 25 minute part. Thank you for the idea.
You welcome my friend. Thanks for checking out my channel 👍
Wow wee...that was QUICK! I bet those were some tasty ribs. Thanks for sharing.
Yes they were. My family did not even leave me left overs. Ugh... Thank you for watching.
The ribs look awesome. Can’t wait to try them. Thanks for the recipe.
Thank you. Please let us know how they turn out.
And this is part of the reason that Instant Pot is so popular. Rod Elmore shows exactly how easy it can be. I'd like to eat a few of those ribs right now.
Thank you nemo227. What is your opinion on our other videos.
Glad I found your channel. Your presentation was simple and on point. Thank you!
Nice job. It was to the point and simplified the process. The only thing I would have liked to have seen at the end is you cutting through the ribs and pulling some of the meat off the bone to show how tender it really was.
I should have done that. Thank you for watching.
Quick and simple instructions. Thx n my ribs came out amazing. 💜
Guys I've cooked my ribs everytime this several it's the truth!!! Thanks so much.
Our pleasure!
Just got my instant pot, its pretty intimidating but I can't wait to start cooking things in it. Will definitely give the ribs a shot!
Awesome. Please let us know how they turn out. 👍
Steve I received my first one for Christmas, so, last month. Because of all the RUclips videos that I've watched on cooking with it, I embraced the pot. I LOVE that thing! Be careful with using the quick release feature with large cuts of beef and pork. It can cause them to seize up and become tough. The pot will automatically go into "slow release" mode when the cook time is up. It should take 10 to fifteen minutes to release. Look at the small metal pin on the top of the lid, when it is up, the pot is fully pressurized, when it is down and sits below the surface of your lid, then your pot is fully depressurized and you can safely open it.
LOL, love the classical music! Just subscribed and your my hope for the future. I see great things coming out of my kitchen! One thing I really like about your presentation is you get straight to the point! Thanks and all the best
Thank you so much and thank you for watching.
Great recipe and step-by-step video. I made some slight modifications (apple juice and white cooking wine), but I say you have one the best methods I’ve seen. Keep up the good work 👍
Yep! I love a right to the point video. And guess what, I made them today. They are delicious. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
+c_nicole _r That is awesome. Congratulations on your food masterpiece!
Will differently have to give this a try. Straight to the point and no B.S. to look at. And you took the time to write it all down. Thanks Bud.
Thank you for watching. What dish did you make?
@@RodRElmore Finally made the ribs yesterday. Thanks for the the great recipe. Came out outstanding.
Clear and concise
I’m doing this on Sunday 😎
Thanks
Likes them so much last week, we're doing them again! Thqnks again!
WOW. So awesome. How did your dish turn out??
Great video! Straighforward! Music is not distracting.
I got an IP last week, when I make ribs I'm going to use your recipe. Your video was easy to understand & I like that you included the written recipe in the description box.
Thank you
Great video. I like the trivit idea. Can't believe I never thought of that. I guess I like scrubbing out pots😖. Instead of water why not use beer or apple juice? I also preheat my liquid to a boil on the saute cycle first to get it into pressure mode quicker. I found that 32 minutes seems to be a good cooking time.
Awesome. I am a trial and error kinda guy
Making some ribs again, second time around in less than a month. Family loves them!
That's awesome! Sounds like you have a winner.
Wonderful presentation; really liked the classical music interludes - classy 👍🏻😀
+Claire-Catherine Campbell thank you so much.
I dugg that also😎
Perfect, to the point no wasting time!
So happy you stopped by. Thank you.
Good presentation and the music was great!
Finally tried this w/4 lb ribs..had to cook a tad longer. but came out Fine..Thank you for your recipe
Excellent. So good to hear. Thank you
This is always my go to video when making ribs! Great straight forward recipe and video! The only thing I do differently is that I add some liquid smoke to the water but that's just me. Thanks for the video Rod.
+Connie Heil that sounds yummy. Thanks for watching.
Great tip
I am so glad to have found this video. Thank you for the easy to follow instructions.
Glad it was helpful!
I have a new instant pot and will give this a try, thanks for making it look so easy!
I like just how easy it looked. I'm going to take my Insta Pot out of the box for the first time and it's going to make me some ribs.. Thanks for the Recipe..
Awesome! Please let me know how your dish turns out
Nicely done. My instant pot just arrived. Definitely going to barrow your recipe today. Nice video!!!
I just got my Instapot, the recipe booklet that came with it has crazy meals that I would not want to eat, your video is spot on with what I like to eat. Thanks.
+Short Film Guy awesome. I hope yiu enjoy your pressure cooker.
Great video! Thx for being to the point. You make it look so easy!
Love this video! Straightforward explanations! And the music was lovely! Not the annoying music that most use these days. Best Instant Pot Rib video I've seen! Going to make it tonight! Thank you!

I made these for some friends and they loved them! Thanks a lot! #notallheroeswearcapes
I think my favorite part of the video was the music! Haha great video
Thank you for watching.
Thank you. I was thinking of doing my baby back ribs in my instapot. I believe we have the same kind. This was a great demonstration. I appreciate this video. Have a great day.
Excellent and exciting. I would love to hear how things turned out.
Love the back ground music
Thank you. I thought it was good fit also.
Your channel popped up in my feed and I am so glad I watch your video. Very well spoken with no profanity. Thank you. I just might have to buy an instant pot :)
+lovehope3753 you really should consider getting yourself an #instantpot It will streamline the way you cook. cheers.
After watching this awesome review I subscribed! Great job sir!
I love that you used two sizes of Instant pot. I have a 3 quart and not all recipes fit in it. Love the music. Awesome channel.
Thanks a bunch. What is your favorite recipe?
Use 1 cup water for 6 Quart Instant Pot, For 8 quart, use 1&1/2 cup water...
Did this twice. If you finish them on the grill with those Kingsford flavor boosters then a little sauce. Good to go!
Thanks Rob great video and instructions .............respect
I use your technique every time I make ribs. So good!!
Perfect! I am so glad the recipe works for you.
Thanks bro! I watched a couple other videos and they had no Rub and used a lot more liquid! I also noticed that you used the basket! Hay you got a new subscriber in me
Here I am 3 years out of WYA 18-1. And I’m trying to cook some ribs for the wife and I and I come across your RUclips. 😎 that’s awesome.
Oh wow. So glad you found my channel Rutland. Hope you find some great recipes here.
@@RodRElmore not gonna lie, I used your rib recipe and it’s so good. Thanks 🙏🏽
Rob, great video! You make it look real simple, nice tip about rolling the ribs up. Can’t wait to make my first batch.
I make my baby back ribs almost similar to this. I use apple juice instead of water, do a natural release for 15 min, and I put foil on the pan to make clean up easy. These ribs are fantastic and so easy to do using this cooking method.
WOS. Exciting to hear. You rock. thanks for watching.
Excellent, informative video mate! I'm going to give it a go... :)
+Heath Lawrence let us know how well it things go.
This is my go-to Instant Pot ribs recipe. You rock! Thanks!!!
You are quite welcome. Thank you for watching.
nice video - i like the tip on putting meat on the inner side when rolling it to put it in the pot. A minor pet peeve of many IP fans is to be sure to call it an "Instant Pot" not "instapot". :-)
Great recipe and instructions. Thanks!
Do you do the natural pressure release at the end (ie let the pressure cool for about 10 minutes) or do you do the quick release method where you vent immediately after the hi pressure cook?
Paul Tansill I normally allow it to naturally release.
I wish all instructional videos were like this. Simple and quick. Thanks Mr. Elmore!!
+I Felici you are quite welcome.
+I Felici Thank you for watching.
You don’t season the back of the ribs my boy? 😂 but great video ! I’m going to try this when my instant pot comes in
I normally do. I guess I was caught up in the excitement during this video.
