This video was AMAZING, as a soldier that lives in the barracks I’m trying to find new things to cook in my instant pot and your video just gave me so many ideas!
works great. i love that it has stainless steal pot inside ruclips.net/user/postUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg and not the one with coating. we used to have a coated pot before, and the coating slowly peels, and i am sure went into the food that we cooked. Absolutely love stainless steel, and will not use a coated product again. This pot has many settings and many buttons, and i need to sit down with a manual to figure out which setting to use. I used the basic functions, and even though i am not technologically skilled, i turned it on and assembled it without any help.Very satisfied with this product overall.
@jameswagstaff56 Same here! First instant pot arrived a few days ago. Have used pressure cooker since 1953! (89 yrs.) Am looking forward to learning the complexities of pre programable, ‘dinners in a pot!’ Have just now completed washing all parts….came to YT to take first lesson and Saints be Praised….this was first video that popped upon screen! So…..good luck to you and me! I’m hungry! Thank you to Feelgoodfoodie for this well planned, straight to point presentation!🤗
Thank you thank you for being quick, direct and practical! 🙏 Other channels think we buy those cookers cos we have all the time of the world to sit and watch their slow videos!!
Perfect video! Direct and to the point. Thank you for making this because I have frozen ground beef, chicken and fish in the freezer that I keep forgetting to defrost. I’m making delicious fish tacos tonight, thanks to you!! Awesome video!! I loved it!!!
Great video...not too long and straight to the point. I like to season my meats/fish before freezing just to save a step later when cooking. Also, I lay down a piece or parchment paper or aluminum foil directly overtop of the trivet for delicate foods like fish so that I don’t “lose” any when lifting up the trivet😊
@@HARPYRON yes, directly overtop of the trivet just so that when I lift it up and out after cooking nothing falls out of it and back into the hot water inside the instant pot.
You're a lifesaver! Everything is frozen including the ground beef. The restaurants and stores are closed for Christmas. I never even dreamed you could cook ground beef in the Instant Pot. You have saved our dinner for tonight and I suspect for many other nights.
OMG, Finally someone straight and to the point. I was surfing for frozen. I have had my power pressure xl for five years and gone back to it. We have a rice/risotto setting of 6 min so time adjustment down to 2 minutes. I just subscribed so hope you haven't changed your format.
Wow, talking about defying the odds when it comes to cooking frozen foods. Fairly new to the instant pot game, will give this a try. Thanks for sharing! ☺️
yo if you like black beans, try 2 cups dried black beans, no soak needed, 3 cups water/stock, 2 frozen chicken thighs, spices whatever you want (save the salt for the end). manual setting for 35 mins. shred chicken when done and taste for salt adjustment
I have 2 old style pressure cookers and was so nervous when I got my instapot! 1. It doesn't spot out steam until after it's done so I thought it was going to explode, and 2. I can't cook from frozen in it. I am so excited I found your video because sometimes I forget to thaw the meat! Now I can cook anyway, thank you so much!!
I'm on my 2nd IP. The first one that I bought more than 2 years ago finally died on me. I just picked up the new Pro. But over the past couple of years, I never tried cooking from frozen. Thanks for posting this. I can't believe how easy it seems.
Great video. Whenever cooking these items in the instant pot I have found that by setting them on aluminum foil, it keeps everything together. Especially fish being it can fall apart so easily. :)
Thank you so much, always not sure what to do with frozen meat as sometimes feel like may cook the next day and then may be changing mind cos of too tired from work or so. Then may refroze my meat or discard (sad). Will try soon . 😷💕👍
I cook frozen or mostly frozen chicken breasts in mine all the time. I always add carrots, celery, onion, and seasonings so I get a tasty soup. The breasts stay together, but shred or chop up easily for other dishes. As for frozen ground beef, I just thaw in the microwave which takes a few minutes max, and use it from there for whatever I planned to use it for. Often that means browning in a skillet which gives far more flavor and texture than steaming and is faster. This is a case where the Instant Pot really isn't the best tool for the job.
Just recently found your channel and I love your energy and recipes! I can’t wait to try some of these next time in the kitchen. Keep up the amazing work!!
Okay, I gotta admit, I am enchanted by the possibilities of what an IP can do (cook my own yogurt to save $$? Yes, please.)...and I had wanted an IP to replace my slow cooker, just because a slow cooker is not as versatile. So my coworker got me one for an early birthday present. My adventurous side wants to dive in. My risk-averse side says "Master the skills you want to via the oven and stove first." In other words, I have a bit of an old school vs new school battle going on in my head. Plus, I have never used any kind of pressure cooker before at all. Not even the old ones. I was too young to use those when my parents had one, and they barely used theirs, so they gave it away. Enter the Instant Pot some decades later. Imagine my shock at what it can do. And despite my enthusiasm, I feel a little overwhelmed...because I'm also attempting to learn how to cook stuff via the oven and stove...and I don't have all the time in the world to learn everything as quickly as I would like...*sighs* I'm overthinking, I'm sure. But like I said, I feel like there's an old school vs new school battle in my head. 😔
If you save the chicken stock, and then cook more chicken at a later date would you add the 2nd batch of stock in woth the first to use for later? Or would you add some celery/carrots/onions in the bottom of the trivet to make an actual broth to use for other dishes or soups? Thanks!
Yeah it was too bad about the water she could've indeed used it to make a sauce or maybe soup additionally even if she didn't add veggies it could've still been used as a base.
This is just a great video. I’ve never had a fish taco, but I will be having one soon! Everything you made looks great! I just purchased a pressure cooker, like the one you used in the video. You made it look so easy. Can’t wait to try it.

How do you cook liver in boiled water or pressure cooker, without any additives or marinates so it is tender? Also, how do you cook chicken breast using these methods so it is soft as well? I tend to have rubbery pieces.
Any opinion on a thick frozen already seasoned piece of pork loin? Prior to instant pot I’d slow cook it, no liquid. Wondering how to do it best in the instant pot and whether to use slow cook or pressure cook option (temp, time...). Thx
I am been struggling lately with cooking well or until it’s cooked well due to stress and studying and sadly it gave me lots of infections so Im being very careful. Is it safe to cook it like that? Thank you
Question, can we let the instant pot natural release all of these recipes? Will it mess them up if we dont do a quick release like with the chicken you say natural for 5 mins then quick, can I just let it set? I like to prep the instat pot before going to pick up my hubby from work, and we eat when we get back home, if I have to stay to do the quick release I'd need other recipes.
After using the pot , remove sealing ring from lid , wash with regular dish soap and allow it to completely dry......everytime after use. Has worked for me😃
I wonder if you could leave thawed bulk sausage in the plastic wrapper & put in on the trivet & cook. I’m trying to save time & have some already thawed & I don’t want to put it in any liquid, afraid if I unwrap it will fall through the trivet. Has anyone tried this? I guess what I need to know is, can you put plastic in an instant pot.
