I was Born and raised in florida and i love it there but i got sick of of all the hurricanes and natural disasters, recently moved to TN and i don’t regret a thing
Yeah I was just talking to a friend that used to live in Florida and she said she’ll take the Midwest tornadoes where she lives now over those Florida hurricanes any day! She’ll never go back. Maybe it’s all just what you’re used to - but as a midwesterner I really feel like hurricanes are much worse than tornadoes. Although I’ve heard people in hurricane states are more petrified of tornados!
The homes 'floating away' are mobile homes which had no hurricane tie downs. Not having those tie downs in Florida is negligence on the part of the home owner.
The negligence is shared with the local building permit issuers. There is also no reason to lose a roof in an era when hurricane ties cost 20 cents each. My grape arbor is stronger than a house in Florida apparently.
I’m from sc Spartanburg and there are trees on top of houses and cars, some building are failing apart. Traffic lights are scattered on the road and there’s no power.

I mean yeah but its also not fair for people with sense enough to live somewhere relatively safe should have to fork the bill for people who choose to live in a spot that has flooded once every 3 years since the natives were there. Its the guy who built in a flood prone valley looking up at the guy who built on a hill asking for help. I mean yes he should help him but NOT by rebuilding in the same spot.
@@Morristown337great analogy. I hadn’t thought about it that way. And you’re right. It’s not fair for those living further inland having to support those on the coast who KNOW what’ll happen often.

I feel the same way about California that place is just waiting to fall into the sea. This weather is worldwide make no mistake this is God's Fury. In the very way the Bible says He will do it. That’s only the idiots that want to see the state flood and they broke asses can’t afford to leave the state. Most Floridians like me actually have sympathy and do care how bad the hurricane is and pray that it doesn’t hit hard. I’m in Georgia now I pray for my fellow Floridians to be safe and pray they get back to their feet if the damage is severe.
They do need to re-think allowing constructions so close to shore, those storms are just going to get worst and more frequent... Cedar Key is wrecked, and what struck me is that you have all those normal homes mixed in between homes on pillories... which, while not unscathed, clearly fared much better overall. Why the hell do they even allow normal houses constructed in those areas??
Es lógico que pasen esas cosas si construyen a la orilla del mar...con dos dedos de frente saben lo pueden perder todo en una tormenta y no hay seguro que valga
This storm really shows how nature can be super powerful, like a wake-up call for everyone. It's kinda crazy that people still put themselves in danger during stuff like this. Hope everyone’s safe and stays strong! 🌪️💪🌈
@@asherroodcreel640doesn’t matter where you live you will face catastrophes. Mud slides, hurricanes, tornados, wildfires and earthquakes. So i guess you should live in the sky then if you can make that possible.
@@asherroodcreel640 really? Interesting because a mudslide is a mass of dirty, muddy, rocky water filled with debris that wipes anything and everything out in its way. Water resides eventually with a hurricane but with a mudslide it’s worse and doesn’t reside like water from a hurricane. The mud sits and clogs drains and everything.
Here in the Virgin Islands during hurricane Hugo two men on a boat underestimated it's power. When morning came one was found on the land butt naked, with a hand missing. When the port authorities recovered the vessel, they found the other hand tied to a rope... seems he tried to avoid being blown away. The other man was never found. Hurricanes are no joke.
Notice all the news stations show the same houses to make it look like the storm did more damage than it did. Look at that one small house with blue trim in all the videos on RUclips
It did do a lot of damage all over. You don’t have to be hit directly to receive damage. The outter bands can be just as dangerous. You do realize it was a cat 4. Stubborn people that refuse to evacuate endanger not only themselves, but first responders, too. If you choose to stay, that’s on you. Don’t call for help when you find your house flooded! You were told to leave. I live here. I’ve lived thru quite a few hurricanes, including Andrew.

And now the storms have followed you there!
We are getting rain from this storm today all the way over here in central Arkansas.

The homes 'floating away' are mobile homes which had no hurricane tie downs. Not having those tie downs in Florida is negligence on the part of the home owner.
Now they're under Coast Guard Regulations
The negligence is shared with the local building permit issuers. There is also no reason to lose a roof in an era when hurricane ties cost 20 cents each. My grape arbor is stronger than a house in Florida apparently.
No hurricane tie downs just might lead to no insurance coverage.
I’m from sc Spartanburg and there are trees on top of houses and cars, some building are failing apart. Traffic lights are scattered on the road and there’s no power.

That's what I was wondering, so many destroyed homes... are most of them just not going to be insured??
I mean yeah but its also not fair for people with sense enough to live somewhere relatively safe should have to fork the bill for people who choose to live in a spot that has flooded once every 3 years since the natives were there. They do need to re-think allowing constructions so close to shore, those storms are just going to get worst and more frequent...

Here in the Virgin Islands during hurricane Hugo two men on a boat underestimated it's power. When morning came one was found on the land butt naked, with a hand missing.
