Great turn! I'd be stoked with that. I had a Firewire mashup. It paddled really well, for some reason it didn't feel as well balanced in good waves compared to my other boards. I sold it. Personal preference for sure.
Mashup is my favorite board in my quiver. How tall are you btw? You seem to ride your boards longer than most people for the same models. I’m 5’8 and my Mashup is 5’4
We exchanged comments your last Mashup video. I am 46, also started late in life. I have the 5'9" as well. It goes on all my trips. It CAN grovel, sure...and some of the Firewire pros can use it as such, but it will never compare to the Seaside in smaller, soft waves. That said, it can go in them. But chest to head, the board is so, so good. And almost too fast at times. I am running NVS apex Quads in it most of the time now. Were you riding it as a twin? I could not see a third fin when you flipped the board over.
Yea seaside rules in smaller surf for sure but it’s not far behind. Board is fast in small surf too. It’s like the sports car version of the seaside and you can rip turns harder. I’m riding 2 plus 1 on the fins. My friends said that was best and I will have to agree.

It’s definitely not as stable. For some reason though it fits me like a glove. Love the seaside still but the mashup seems a tad bit more fun
I did keep my Seaside. BTW the best fins I tried in my Mashup were the Tyler Warren twin plus trailer. @@surfininmy40s

@@ThunderBasketball22 we are about the same height but yeah I like bigger boards since I’m at 175 lbs. I can’t ride the tiny boards.
