You ain’t scared on shark feeding time? Hectic sir
@@versesydneycity hehe. If you are a surfer scared of sharks then you probably shouldn’t be surfing 😀
Seaside is undefeated in waist/chest surf 😎
@@WillStinton totally 👍
Let’s go!
Call it what it is brother. Dark Patrol. 👌🤙🏼
😂😂
had my 5'8" for a year, but only 4 sessions...... almost no wave count yet..... You are right it is hard to crack the code on this.....maybe because of all the foam.... feel I have to have my head all the way forward... almost over the tip.....
@@jimmybeuschau8145 yeah I’m on the 5’9 now and like it much better. My paddling has improved though and I think I could ride a 5’8 better now. The 5’9 is perfect tho 🤙🏾
Lightning sease vs JS
What size seaside would you recommend for 6’ 195lbs intermediate surfer?
@@Awkward_Shaka 5’10 if your really good but 5’11 to be safe if not sure. Enjoy the seaside 🤙🏾
LOL; you survived the dentist, lol good job! (I am a dentist)
@@nebeachbum 😉. I survived but need implants soon 😢
Hell yeah! I know that feeling, love to see it 🤙🏼
@@pewpewpro3309 🤙🏾
I got the sub zero hi fi too fun board also ride it with 2 +1 use the slater fins though another good one is raging bull comes with good volume
congrats man 😁🤙
@@Namidan-The-Surf-and-Sea 🤙🏾🙏🏾
I’ve also got a seaside 5/9 fun in the right wave, find it seems a little short to paddle into waves some times making the take off a bit more critical, I also have the Js sub Xero 2.0. And think it’s a better around board, can get a bit skatey on wallier waves or in bigger surf can be harder to get on rail but I do enjoy it!! Also have a new mashup but it hasn’t seen the water yet, I’m actually hoping it will be ok in overhead type waves, I like the look of the concaves where as the sub Xero is very flat, I’ve upped the length and volume in the mashup and sub Xero the first couple surfs it felt too big but I’m getting used to it and finding I’m getting into waves way earlier than I can on the seaside. Cheers for the vids🤙🏻
Nice comment and agree with you. What fin set up do you use for the sub xero? What size do you have on the mashup? I feel if I had it at 5’10 that could’ve been perfect.
@@surfininmy40s same as you twin + trailer. MR fins. Found them pretty good, little bit of tail slide , had it in solid 5ft but was a bit hard to get on rail, but like I said now I’m getting used to the board it would prob be better , mines strong holding up well
@@surfininmy40s I’ve actually gone 6,0 on the mashup like I said I’m hoping it will go well in bigger waves. I’m in Tasmania Australia. Just turned 50, Bit injured at the moment 7weeks ago I got slammed by a shore break and fractured two vertebrae, but I’m recovering well, I’ve been back in the water but pick and choosing my waves at the moment until the doctor gives me the all clear. Been a pretty busy swell season down here, and like where u are it gets cold . 4/3 wetties, booties and hoody
@@markpyke6142 hope you have a speedy recovery. The 6’0 mashup should be perfect.
@@markpyke6142 nice! I will keep it 2 plus 1 in the summer but may go quad for the winter waves 🌊
Nice, great to switch boards , keeps fun.
You right, seaside is good for the 40 yo! 😅 good surfing mayn! 6'0 was soo good for me, now I'm trying the 5'9. It's a nice Sunnyside yellow color, love it. Keep up with videos dude 🤙🏾
@@coolL1031 I currently have the 5’9. It’s the perfect size for me at least. Hope you like it 🤙🏾
Great review! I've been between this and the sweet potato for Florida surf. Would you say the 5'11 or 6'0 for me I'm 6'2 195lbs kinda bored with longboarding and haven't shortboarded in a while other than occasional funshape.
@@imthesameboyiusetobe I honestly think both sizes would work. Maybe the 6’0 to play it safe but honestly both should work. Enjoy the Seaside
@@surfininmy40s thanks hoping to pick one up soon at my local surf shop. I was set on the sweet potato but the guy suggested the seaside as they also have it in stock vs having to order the other board. Might give it a try and check back with ya! 🤙🏽
Looks sharky!
It’s just the fog that makes it look spooky.. hasn’t been a shark sighting there in years. I’m sure they are there though 😀
Dude, those conditions look creepy! Thanks for the review of the RM seaside!
Yea super foggy . Waves were good but visibility was not great 🌫️
Nice!
Keep up the great content! Whwnever you come to the southbay HMU let's catch a session together. Where is your local surf again?
Thanks so much! 🙏🏾 Appreciate your comment. I’m in Nor cal. 🤙🏾
That's why I dig your channel. I relate to everything you video.
🙏🏾🙏🏾. I don’t have the fanciest most educational channel but it’s just real life content 😀
Fun!
Seaside is 99.9% fun every time. If you ever have a bad day surfing, jump on the seaside to get the stoke back 🤙🏾
Love it!
Appreciate it brah 🤙🏾
riding stock shortboards greatly oversized is going to vastly hinder any alleged performance a design like that is meant to give you, mine as well stay on a mid length or mini simmons type boards. you know how to catch waves which is good, you have a solid pop up. but watching you ride these oversized boards gives me heart burn.
I’m just getting older is all. Almost 50 so just want to have a board to help me paddle better. I do have a 5’9 seaside and a 5’8 mini Simmons performance board as well. But I agree. The 6’2 probably won’t give me the best performance
Judging by your foot placement, it’s too high up for a board like the D2. Your foot should be behind or on the wide point which is like the back fin so the board will come alive. Cool video
May be the reason it bogged
@@foxgd9117 I will try to stay farther back. 🙏🏾. I did take my seaside out today and it definitely handled these type of waves much much better. The Seaside is always a good choice.
@@surfininmy40syes seasides wide point is more forward and it’s fishy , so it does suit standing further up the board and more forgiving if you mess up
3:45 nice wave
Thanks brah. You will get one soon over there lefty

Nice, Let's go Peps..surfers out there, Follow this Guy...
🙏🏾
congrats on your 1k!
Much appreciated 🙏🏾🤙🏾🙌🏾
Ask my wife! You don’t sell boards to acquire another. You just keep amassing boards. Even my granddaughters friend made my wife laugh, by looking at all my boards hanging in rack, and says “this is sorta excessive”. She’s no longer welcome here.😄🤙
😂😂. Don’t hate on the toys in the man cave. Big no no! 🤙🏾
😂
Mate, I am from the sunny coast qld Australia, great vids. No idea where your beach is but we have sand. So it always looks strange😂
We have sand here too in Northern California. 😂. But for some reason the really good surf spots are off of cliffs 🤙🏾
SICK board brother! Cant wait for the review on that SubZero! I wonder if there’s not a lot of overlap between the JS and the Seaside
I’m really hoping they feel different but they almost look exactly the same. 😮
Looks smooth! Can’t wait to see you in the water riding this thing
Keep it going, looking forward to seeing what u think about JS ....
Stay tuned
Bro you're ripping that board. Can I ask what is your height / weight? Trying to get my quiver right
Thnx braddah! I’m 5’7 at 175 lbs. I know I need to lose weight 😀 but this 37 L feels good 🤙🏾
Nice! I’m the same weight as you, will look for same dims 🤙
Dominator-ing
Can’t wait to try it in bigger surf. But good to know it grovels 🤙🏾
Love the race at the end! That’s a burner without a white water assist
😎🤙🏾
I’ve seen that spot break insane. Most of the time it looks like how your session was or even smaller.
The rights were well overhead but it seems like the locals know how to ride it safely. Visitors like me might get hurt so I didn’t try. Really wanted to tho
@@surfininmy40s oh wow! I think the gopro made it seem smaller. Thats pretty good session then!
I heard Cali Politicians want u to have Surf insurance or can't enter the water.....LOL only joking
That would be horrible 🤦🏾♂️😆. Scared me for a second
Seaside and beyond?
Just the FireWire seaside
nice riding bro~~ i'm also 40s!!
🙏🏾🤙🏾
It’s insane how many “non-drivers” are regularly out at pp. Stunning that surf etiquette was never taught, learned, or figured out, by so many, and they’ve all migrated to easy access waves. Understandably, ya wanna get into good waves. But at the very least, ya wanna assure you don’t create any hazard, obstacle or bad joojoo. I really sucks to wait, have priority, be in the zone, and snag a great peak. Which should lead to an insane blast through about 5 different sections. But in reality, it’s floundering ND’s, frothing insane snaking groms, and full blown pro’s all making mincemeat outta a fun wave. Constant nose to grindstone, and you can snatch one every once in a while. 😳🙏🤙
I think the key is don’t go during peak hours from 1-4 pm when it’s clear skies and sunny. 😊. Reminds me why I love dawn patrol or late evening sessions
Yeah dude this is a great board! 🤙🌊
I know I will regret selling it 😢
I'm in my 50's, still works
Awesome! I’m right behind you and will be joining the 50’s ranks in a few years. Keep shredding in your 50’s
Sit at the main spot and much less kelp wave breaking in deeper water no issues. Still on the 5'7? Just sold my 5'11 and trying to decided on 5'7 vs 5'9
I’m on the 5’9 currently. Catches more waves for me 😊
Awesome long wave, get the floatie for your cam!
You will remember each second for the rest of your life.
Fo sho 🤙🏾
uppers is def the place to catch to wave amazing waves, idk about wave of your life though
Just never had that many turns on one wave before. I’ve had some good rides but that one I won’t forget.
I just got a 5"11 it feels big think need to size down some. It almost feels the board is so weird the rails catches on steeper sections, but also the widest board I have ever ridden so that could be some of it adapting to the board.
Yeah when I had the 5’11 I didn’t like riding it on steep drops. Kept falling for no reason. But on softer days it was a wave catching machine. I’m on the 5’9 now and it’s pretty 🤩
Great vid, awesome see real Locals of break 6:26
They are locals / my really good friends 🤙🏾
25 second wave is insaneee!!!!!!!
Thanks for surfing with me and for the comment . Always fun hanging with you and your dad.
