Anytime I end up scratching my head with a 7.3 or a 6.0, Ron never fails to come through, and help me get the truck started. We love and miss you Ron.

Ron, thanks so much for all your help and pointers on the 7.3l. I have had mine for 10 years, it has 410,000km. Never touched the motor until now. I found diesel in my coolant, so I replaced the injector sleeves, while injectors were out I did all the seals as well. Before that and after I still get code p1316, p1247, p1211. So I replaced the injector wiring harnesses under the vc and CPS. Since I've done this work it has helped but I still have the following problems.
    -p1316 still comes on/of

Great video Ron. I've learned a lot about my 7.3 from you

Almost every ebp fault on a 7.3 is the sensor. Look at the volts key on engine off. It should be atmospheric pressure. Compare it to map. Usually the ebp reads too high.

4 years later watching this again HAHAHAHA. Sad what happened to Ron.
I'm hoping this is what I'm dealing with, I ran low on oil but I put a gallon in but it didn't run any better but it did make the 16 mile drive home so hopefully this is the problem, oil wasn't showing on the stick.

P1316 is telling you to pull codes from the injector drivers module. Does it miss?possible injector solenoid or connection. Do a buzz test to pull codes

    Hi Ron,
    I'm having a problem with the P1211 code and lacking power. I have a 2002 7.3
F350 with a few modifications. It has a Tony Wildman six position power switch,
(Code still shows under hard acceleration when chip is removed). 4 inch
straight piped exhaust and an S&B free flow intake.
The Freeze Frame for DTC P1211 comes back as: MAP: 62.5 in
.hg, RPM 2387 r/min, Speed: 53MPH, and Absolute Throttle Position: 0%. The code
only comes on after a 3-5 seconds hard acceleration.
I have tested the fuel pressure under load, it sits very
steady at 65 PSI. I recently did an oil change and it still looks good (less
than 500 miles). It has a new Ford ICP installed and has been retested. IPR
looks good at 36% under load. Turbo has very minimal play. Replaced the EBPS and tube. I'm seeing normal
boost levels and my EGT runs at about 1050 F under hard acceleration uphill. A
    KOEO buzz test sounds good.
I just ran a KOER test and found I have DTC P0605. Spending
some time on autoenginuity, I believe I have found that the Barometer is not
functioning correctly. It is maxed out at 148 PSI and 4.66 Volts. Would this
cause the P1211 code? I assume this would lean out the motor, so I'm not sure
if this would cause power loss? Any help you could point me to would be
    appreciated.

Hi Ron great video! I have been experiencing a little power loss and gas milage loss in my 2000 7.3 and have noticed that my oil was low so I add as needed. I have never had to do this with this truck before it seems like it been burning oil. So I guess my question is will it effect gas milage, and what causes it to burn oil? The truck is still a baby with 54,XXX.

it makes me cringe seeing people neglect there trucks and equipment, air filter oil and fuel filter are the easiest thing you can do on these trucks especially with an electric lift pump there is no excuse to not service one properly

I have a 2001 f350 7.3 it has a really hard time starting when cold unless I plug it in for 30-to 45 min. Could you help me out or suggest a shop in ohio with good diagnostic equipment

If you don't have any blow by all you might need is a set of injector

Check the glow plug relay first. Before digging into the injector job.

Customer is lucky he did not grenade the engine. I thought the 7.3 and 6.0 would not run when too low on oil?

    • @connorlhamon
      @connorlhamon 3 года назад

Not usually because the HPOP if it’s not getting oil it wouldn’t fire the injectors
