What I have wondered is I always wanted to get a ride on a low rider when I was visiting LA but it’s kinda difficult to find. Why not offer it on trip advisor as a tourist attraction. I think that’s an easy and really cool way to earn a living. I’d love to get a ride!

Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system.

Back in the 70s when I was 7-8 yrs old. My mom who was a Japanese single mom, & I lived in Santa Ana in a very Chicano neighborhood.
Being half Japanese was odd for me in that neighborhood.
Everyday I'd walk down our street to school, there were Chicano cholos hangin' out everywhere.
Those people took care of us.
Mothers would send me home with food. If they were having a cook-out, they'd feed me on my way home from school. If my mom had car trouble, the guys in the neighborhood would help her out. Our race didn't matter. We lived there.
I never forgot that. The Chicanos will alway hold a special place in my heart for helping us the way they did.

The more I understand the culture of this nation, the more I respect them. They are hard-working, helpful, and generous. I have access to informations from high ranked Hells Angels and Bloods. You must save the work of your ancestors by boycotting and killing your local Hells Angels and Bloods members, high ranked, chapter leaders and leaders as soon as possible, the higher rank the better. It is time, tomorrow could be too late. They think that their targets will not realize and prevent their fall before it is too late then making their Hells Angels and Bloods alliance more powerful and influent but the informations went out unfortunately. Something I needed to hear today, "It's easy going back to the same thing. It's hard to do something new." It's good to hear what your feeling inside said out loud by another person, especially a good hearted individual who has worked hard and been brave. Congrats on getting to where you want to be, and pursuing what is making you happy! Feeling tougher with big decisions I have to make for my little familia. ❤️

When my parents were elderly, their car broke down in Denver at night. This was before cell phones. Some Chicano teenagers were walking by, and they fixed my parents' car. My dad tried to give them money, but they said no, they only wanted him to say good things about their neighborhood in return for their help. My parents also had to crash land a plane in the desert in Mexico, and the people of the nearby village took care of them until the plane's engine was repaired. So my dad's dream was to retire in Mexico, among the people for whom he had such high regard. He didn't quite make it, but that's what he wanted. Thanks so much for your videos, thanks for taking us with you!!!!

I am from Germany and whenever I watch a documentary about gang life in the US, I feel like I couldn't be any further from what I see there.
Having said that, I think all of the guys in the video are surprisingly well spoken, and I can't avoid thinking what great chances they would've had if they would've been at another place. Clearly, they have not only aesthetic and social understanding, but also a degree of self-awareness that I find very remarkable. No doubt, I would love to talk to any of these guys, but what's stopping me are the local and social circumstances. I wish all of them the best of luck and success in life. I hope they're doing fine and manage someday to turn away from violence and social insecurity.

I will always have respect for the Chicano/Mexican people. Back in the early 90s my dad was heavy into gang banging and being one of the only black families living in a Dominant Mexican neighborhood in East LA, things were definitely tough. My dad was shot 7 times and left to die. If it wasn't for two unknown Chicano gangsters, my dad wouldn't of survived. I wouldn't be here today. These two guys who found my dad rushed him to the nearest hospital and signed him in and left. The only thing we know about these guys was a very brief description by the nurses and a rolled up crumpled piece of paper shoved into my dad's front pocket that said, "you will live." And it was signed "mouse."

You know for someone that spent a considerable amount of time when I was young around Los Angeles. I can say this really expressed all the love I got as a kid. Great job man. 👍

I am visiting the US with my family and we had the opportunity to meet Ernie. He drove us around this and other areas for a few hours. We had dinner in his favourite restourant ( El Tepeyac, amazing food!!!) He truely is an amazing guy, it was a once in a lifetime experience, far beyond anything I would expect to ever see as a tourist from Europe. We are so blessed! If you have the chance to hook up with him I really recommend it. Ernie, you are the man!

I was an Uber driver in LA for over a year. Always was interesting to pick up in Boyle Heights. It wasn’t like other, as they say, “low income communities,” where picking up was inherently putting yourself in danger. The Chicano guys in Boyle were always cool as f*ck and respectful when they got into my car. Definitely check out Mariachi Plaza if you’re visiting LA, really cool authentic place.

If u in mariachi plaza be careful because years ago I was walking down that street and these 2 youngsters jumped out the cut and asked me where I was from” I replied from no where, they seen I was high and they gave me a pass, they had the blower tho ready, they said they were from primera, so be careful if u gonna walk around there

Yea I’m from Boyle Heights if you come over here you’ll be fine. Although there is still a lot of gang activity and violence it’s all just within and between the rival gangs themselves so anybody visiting would be alright but there have been instances where they look at you and might confuse you for a rival gang member or just see the way you dress and that could potentially be bad. For the most part though Boyle Heights is great from its music, food, and culture it’s really a great place

As someone of Mexican decent… it is so cool to see Chicano culture. I live in the Midwest and am not surrounded but any “Mexican” culture. I’ve struggled with my identity when it comes to this. Hearing that many of them can’t speak Spanish makes me not ashamed. Such a cool video.

I'm Cuban American from NY now living in Miami and this is very much appreciated. This is how I envision a unification of subculture in it's purist form. There's a lot other Latino cultures can learn from Mexican Americans instead of playing the high card and thinking one subculture is more dominant than the other.
