Hello Everyone! I just want to clarify that this is one group of Amish out of many. Their opinions and views on life are theirs and do not represent all Amish people. Most of this group are Beachy Amish and Marcus (the older man) is New-Order Amish. Beachy Amish are the most liberal Amish with the most amount of modernity in their lives. This is why I was able to record this conversation. When we "English" (all people that aren't Amish) say "Amish" we categorize many different types of Amish into one group and this is why this can get so confusing. For example, the Beachy Amish can have cars and electricity in their homes. The Schwartzentruber Amish are the Amish who chose to live away from modernity completely (without cars, phones, etc.) and are quite often the Amish we think of when we think of the Amish. Here is an oversimplified list of different types of Amish I met while in Holmes County, Ohio: -SWARTZENTRUBER AMISH (the most conservative and most removed from the modern world) -DAN AMISH (somewhat removed from everybody else, conservative) -OLD-ORDER AMISH (can't drive vehicles but some of them can ride as passengers, only have steel wheels on their carriages, not rubber. Allow Rumspringer--their youth to explore the world and "try things out"). -NEW-ORDER AMISH (Broke away from the Old Order Amish. Less conservative than Old Order, but more conservative in the sense that they don't promote Rumspringer, they use rubber on their carriage wheels, use more modern sliding doors on their carriages, some have phones. -BEACHY AMISH (The most accepting of the modern world and the closest to the most conservative Mennonites. This is the group in the video) There are many other sects and to confuse things even more each sect has different rules depending on their church. None of the Amish are easy to open up like this on camera and it's only because of Josh that we got in with this beautiful group of people. In the next few weeks, I'll have a video inside a Schwartzentruber's home. They agreed to let me film as long as I didn't show their faces. It was a surreal experience, to say the least. I will also have some videos for you with Old-Order Amish people. I hope you enjoy this series! Like most things in life, there's much more beneath the surface with a lot of complexity mixed in. I hope you find as much joy in discovering the Amish as I have. See you next Sunday!
The way they interact and talk is so raw & real. I feel like technology has really damaged people’s social skills and ability to connect heart to heart

@@donnaharris8097 They work their fingers to the bone to be comfortable. It doesn't happen by itself. Plus they have the support of their close community which many other groups don't have. Their lifestyle works because it is Biblically based. Other societies are lacking that, and it shows.
We didn't even have a landline, much less a TV. Life was good back then. You got caught doing something stupid, sometimes the cops got involved and instead of filing a report the cop would drive you home and have a stern talk to your parents which usually ended in you getting slapped and grounded for an appropriate amount of time. I remember stealing a chewing gum in the local store - the owners called my parents and had them pick me up - that was a bad evening which I didn't repeat. It's the pits, was in a situation similar and couldn't work, only people I would talk to were shop assistances. So for about a year all I ever said was how much and thank you.
my take on what Josh was trying to explain at 10:47: schools should teach math and science and history and literature. Parents should teach their kids values and morals and self-discipline and respect and how to live. It's not good for the kids when parents give up that responsibility and let schools and daycares do the parenting.
Totally true! The parents quit teaching, the family is broken. No dads in family (alot of the time). And people wonder why the schools are failing-And now it’s all about social issues.
Most parents give that up to media, to singers and actors aka false idols (women running around half naked for example and actually thats wanted to destroy families. Families are nr.1 enemy for the "Elites" so thats one of the reason they want women to run around in tight pants, bikinis, short skirts etc. so men lust after them and cheat - broken homes). Media is a "good" or lets say convenient babysitter for most parents ... Please look up "Subliminal messages in Disney movies", some are fake in the internet but most are not (you can also look up Robert Breaker, he also made a video about it)
The Amish people in this video are a treasure. I don't know any of them but I feel love for them. Thank you Peter for bringing them and their culture to us the viewers. It was greatly needed and appreciated.

As an English person that spent much of my late teen years in Holmes county, this was very enjoyable to watch. One of the first RUclips videos about the Amish that wasn't a bunch of BS.
I've been there too loved it. I went up with a friend of mine his dad lived in Wilmot OH right across the street from 'The Amish Door' restaurant. I went out there a few months at a time . My late step-dad boarded a horse at an Amish farm in Charm. I spent a lot of time with the family when he'd taking the horse and buggy out. The Jezebel mother's today have neutered their son's, producing effeminate males. It seems like these families have stuck to God's plan. This is 100% spot on. I was raised Mennonite, very similar to how these people live. When I was 21 I moved away and started living on my own, and I'm the only kid out of 5 to leave the Mennonites..i believe in Jesus and am a Christian saved by faith but I am no longer Mennonite. After being raised like these people it was quite the culture shock for awhile after I went on my own. I'm now married and have my own kids, but these values and beliefs will always be inside me and I am always trying to teach my family some of the simple things in life.. playing board games, putting down the electronics, turning off the TV, going outside and enjoying nature, so that maybe my kids will have some of these values instilled in them so they can pass them on someday.
By 8th grade, these kids are almost definitely more prepared for life and mentally/emotionally stable than the majority of people in & coming out of college these days.
I love these people! So humble and open and calm. No one fidgeting. No one looking at their phones. Everyone speaks clearly and from the heart with thoughtful intent. A solid moral compass, a sense of values, a strong community. And yet, with the honesty to look at their issues with an open mind and come together to try to strengthen. Beautiful people.
@@d_knight. ...humans cannot do it by themselves. They need to give their lives to Christ Jesus as these young people did. That is why they are so different. @@junkers5069 Jesus and his disciples set out for the villages of Caesarea Philippi. Along the way he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that I am?” They said in reply, “John the Baptist, others Elijah, still others one of the prophets.” And he asked them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter said to him in reply, “You are the Christ.” Then he warned them not to tell anyone about him. He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer greatly and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and rise after three days. He spoke this openly. Then Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. At this he turned around and, looking at his disciples, rebuked Peter and said, “Get behind me, Satan. You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do.” I don't mean to be rude, but I just arrived home from Mass to continue watching this video, and I am struck by your comment in a very intriguing way. People that work toward getting closer to God understand that not everyone is at the same place on their journey. Some journeys take some down odd bent paths that intersect the mapped path never again and sometimes over and over again. Personally I have been inside the life of faith, outside the life of faith, and back again. I know that I can be mistaken. Thank you Peter and the Amish family who invited us to their home. I think the Amish way of life is a more natural and normal way of life as opposed to what the English world does, but you have to get started on it when you are young. At the end of our lives, when we assess how we lived our lives, I think the Amish would feel more fulfilled because their way of life is more meaningful and heartfelt. I don't like the part where they are not allowed to do what they want. Apart from that, their lives aren't much different from the life in the Romanian village I grew up in. We didn't have many possessions, but we had our family, our friends, our own vegetable gardens, our animals, good healthy food, good wine and schnapps, good clean air and water, a full bright view of the Milky Way, and a good night's sleep, basically all things that Westerners pay good money to experience these days. As kids we used to play in the woods, go fishing in the creek, and play football all day long on Sundays. During summer break, we used to have breakfast, get on our bikes and come home in the evening, hungry, all dusty or muddy, with a few scrapes and big smiles on our faces. Our parents didn't know where we were the whole day, and they didn't stress about it. Nowadays everyone is chasing after bigger houses, more expensive cars and the latest iphones, so they get in debt, then work their whole life in polluted cities, in stressful environments to pay those debts. It's funny how nowadays so many people know more about some dumbass celebrities than they do about their relatives and friends.
i love these people. they are so sincere and they way the identify the problems of their community and not just try to pretend they are perfect is so refreshing and so basically human to be in touch that way.

@@amyk1164 With what specific knowledge of Amish lifestyles do you make this statement? I grew up deep Mennonite, mostly more conservative than the family shown in this video in Holmes county, in Berlin and Millersburg, two of the towns shown in the last video in this series. Amish women DO work outside the home...if their husband can't make enough money to allow them to stay home with the kids. As for the "husband staying home instead", have you ever actually been around a working farm or Amish business? No, you have not because if you had, you'd know that an Amish husband and father might be out in a field or in the barn or in the business shop....which 99% of the time is right next to the house. The husband IS staying home, he's just not underfoot in the house. He's out doing the dirty, physically demanding work so the women don't have to. Amish women DO work right next to their husbands in the fields or barn or shop, few wives are as much of real equals and partners to their husbands as Amish wives but, what I saw growing up was, while Amish women like very much showing off their physical prowess and ability to work, especially when young and looking for a husband, like 99% of women, they like even more being with their kids and being a homemaker and not having to do the dirty and physically demanding outdoor "men's work." And as soon as the kids, both boys and girls, are big enough to accompany either parent around the place while they are working, (4-5 YO) that's what the kids do. In between playing, that is so the assumption your comment makes of an Amish wife stuck at home with a bunch of squalling brats while the husband is having a fun at a job is entirely false.
I like how self aware they are and how they said they have problems just like anyone else. This video could have been hours long! Thank you for doing and sharing these, Peter! I think one question that's missing when you interview different types of people is how they relate to love and to preventing loneliness because pretty much every culture is a manifestation of how to find cohesion and not feel left out. Looking forward to watching more of your uploads!
I would really enjoy having Amish friends. They’re lifestyle is VERY humbling and grounding. Their lifestyle is what “Americans” take for granted every day…
Yes but America isnt only that dream. It is promised that our freedom is to enjoy our happiness... Whatever that person thinks happiness is for them. I do believe too many people think that there is only one or two paths...
Society begins at home. It’s very refreshing to see uniqueness on every culture. But best of all, how multi-layered America really is. God bless our country.
The Amish family were like us growing up in the 60's and 70's. There was no computer or anything fancy. We lived a normal life. We played outside and came home when the street lights came on. Friends were so much closer and the crime was not like it is today. People were more friendly in those years. Was a great video
Murder rate in the US was double what it is now in the 1970s. The 1960s were about as safe as times are now. There are just more people now and constant access to news so you hear about every single scary thing that happens in country of 340 million. If you feel unsafe or isolated, you should change where you live. The city I live in has a ton of friendly people.
Crime is certainly not worse today lol you have to check per capita and figure how much more people are on the earth today. "The world needs a place like this: an environment with 2 parents teaching their kids, not some daycare teaching your kids, not some public school teaching your kids, but the parents." Boy, didnt we all learn that over 2020...
Yes! And if you can't teach your children at home, I feel they would say parents should teach values and character at home rather than allowing schools to do so.
Sadly, we didn't learn that. They've got the best thing in our entire country going on there. They don't have TV or Social media pushing them to think a certain way or giving them unrealistic expectations of their life based on Instagram. It's literally the best things in life, and that's the focus. I think for a lot of us who don't have a lot of religion in our lives; watching these people and how they treat each other makes my idea of religion and community wrong.

Hello Peter, I wanted to convey my sincere appreciation for the content you've been crafting about the Amish and Mennonite communities, both of which are Anabaptist Christian groups. Their way of life has captured my interest deeply. Being a Muslim, I've observed numerous similarities, such as their dress, women covering their heads, men saving mustaches and only keeping the beard, modest attire, strong family values, culinary traditions, and even their approach to insurance policies. If my schedule permits, I'm seriously contemplating a visit to their communities in December.

@@mattiekerr9684 Amish people are just like everyone else in that some of them do things “behind closed doors” that are bad. I don’t believe there is a much higher incidence of such things in the Amish, although their tendency to deal with such things only within the church can certainly be problematic. As the video says, there are different “flavors” of Amish, and these folks are definitely more toward the liberal side. They interact with the non-Amish population around them all the time. Some Amish in Ohio are far more closed off from others.
You can tell they feel strong conviction about the way they live. But they don't shove it in your face, or act "holier-than-thou". You saw that in this video by how it was said multiple times, essentially, that "we are human too". Another way you hear it put in these communities is to “let your light shine, but don’t shine it in anyone’s face.” Great discussion covering a lot of important topics here.
Not a fan of the pacifism aspect, but I respect them. I hope they'll adapt as things change. No sense in letting evil go on unabated. When there is tyranny, it is the duty of people to tear it down, just like we did in WWII.
I like how the guy sitting to the camera right is quiet the entire time, and at the end of the video imparts some of the best advice of the entire segment. “At an airport put your phone down and talk to the person next to you, Care about their life not just your own.”

As a early Millenial I remember a time without smartphones, and internet. It's such a memory now, but I can relate going outside to have fun not just sitting in your room watching RUclips.
The irony is, you’re sat here, on RUclips. Nothing is stopping you being a slave to the internet. Buy a standard phone. Stop using social media. Get in tune with nature more.
Back when I was in school, free time and fun meant hanging out at a friend's house to play board games or watch movies, going to a cafe to chit chat and have a bite or playing sports together. Nowadays free time and fun means playing some multiplayer game on your phone and sitting around staring at your phones rather than actually interacting.
As good as technology is, I am grateful the internet was not available to my friends and family when I wa growing up. My greatest memories as a child was playing outside, making swings, go karts, getting muddy in the woods, riding our bikes all around the neighbourhood and also having quality family outings and games nights. Precious times that as a society we have drifted away from as a consequence of technological advancement. I feel privileged to have seen both sides of the internet divide.
Me too. Entertainment at home in the 60’s 70’s 80’s and the 90’s was no internet/cell phones. Heck I didn’t get a smart phone until 2010! TV , music radio, playing with neighbourhood kids the piano guitar playing in back yard climbing trees riding skateboards and doing chores for my mum.

Peter I’m so glad you finally got to this point. Our world is so disconnected from itself as it is and videos like yours completely turn our doom and gloom look on its head. The Mennonites and Amish may live different from us, but that doesn’t mean we can’t live with them in beneficial ways.
The Germ Theory was never actually proven to be 100% accurate, yet the trillion dollar medical industry is entirely based on that theory. What's the CAUSE of death in people with this "virus"? Does their brain explode? Does their heart stop beating? The CAUSE of death is still pneumonia. Pneumonia is not something you can "catch". You DEVELOP it, just like you develop cancer. It's a biological result of being "scared to death" of something. Think of it like an internal wound that you can't see, but when it starts to heal (when the traumatic event dissipates), the healing of the wounds in the lungs will cause pain, mucus, blood, fever, headaches, coughing, etc. The cause of death from Small Pox wasn't acne-like cysts. That's not enough to kill anyone. The cause of death was PNEUMONIA. A specific death fright soldiers and Indians felt due to them attacking each other during this traumatic period in time. These were the only people who had Small Pox. A vaccine only stopped the acne cysts from forming, which is basically a histamine response. Pneumonia still develops and cannot be stopped or vaccinated against. It's like trying to vaccinate your body to prevent it from healing a bruise or a cut. You don't show the symptoms of "disease" until you stop being panicked and afraid. These symptoms usually show up 1-2 weeks after you've relaxed and resolved the upsetting event.
Governments around the world are CAUSING fear frights, thus CAUSING all the illnesses, aka Boogey Virus, in everyone based on an unproven THEORY by one man, Louis Pasteur, who redacted his claim of the germ theory on his death bed, yet no one listened. The US is following an outdated theory that's 100 years old and has not questioned or retested that "science" since then. They believed In witches and curses back then!! Could it be because a Ca-Zillion dollar medical industry profits on following an outdated "science" model?! They've been using the same cancer "treatment" for 80 YEARS. They can't think of something besides POISON in all this time?!?!
So of course, when everyone is allowed to escape the hostage situation the governments have put their people into, and they start relaxing about the "scary virus" that's not in any way transmissible, they will begin their healing phase (get sick), and believe they then have the "scary virus", and more panic will ensue as well as martial law. The longer people allow this government to hold them hostage in their homes, the more severe the "sickness" will be. Western Medicine is pure fraud, and people's lives are destroyed because of it.
When you think about it, it wasn't that long ago when everyone was that 'dumb.' Before the internet we mostly had little idea of what was going on in the world. Before cable TV, ditto. Before regular free to air TV, ditto. Before newspapers, ditto. Now we spent so much time fretting about things that happen so far away, that we are essentially powerless to change.... that's we've lost contact with our neighbours.
@@Mussi93 When you say that a 2 parent household, having a work ethic, showing up to work on time, having a job, parenting your own children, selling produce at a farmer's market, having a judeo-christian religion, not getting vaccines you don't want and homeschooling are all oppressing of minorities and signifiers of white supremacy, then yeah it does.
Between the Amish and the Hasidic community the biggest thing I’ve taken from these videos is definitely the community aspect. I agree that people crave community today. Our families are broken, we are all distracted by our electronics and day to day lives. We need community, love, family, etc. I admire these people for finding something that works for them.
People live in cities with millions of people yet feel like they're alone. People live in their bubble, they barely know people living on the same street or heck in their own condo or apartment complex.
Its interesting to hear you say Amish and Hasidic Jews are similar. My sister-in-law [she is Jewish and not American] made the comparison and one her US Jewish friends said no way - lots of Hasidic Jewish Jeweler are shady and the Amish and Mennonites would never even consider doing anything shady. They also said some Hasidic Jews in NYC take all kinds of government hand out and work the welfare system. The Amish and Mennonites would never do this. I'm not hating on the Hasidic but just stating what they told me.
@@sakurawind9934 I don't know anything about either group personally but I do not think they have much in common other than they are very religous. My comment above was not mine but of a Jewish person that I shared. I don't know if Shasids are a bunch of crooked jewlers and I have no idea if many collect welfare. It was an interesting conversation that I overheard at a gathering between 2 jews talking about Amish and Chasids.
This is powerful and something I have always wanted in my own life. Is to live there life style and have a true sense of community without all the nonsense from Government and the media. So I will be going on a internet fast. Work on building a community like theirs
I've yearned for real friends for awhile. It's so insanely hard to accomplish. So much... Crap. The world is crap. I will never be a pacifist. I don't trust people enough for that. But I would love to quit all online entertainment, even RUclips, just to be able to play board games and do house work with a real community. Speaking of house work, I think their cabinets could use a modern medium grey repaint. The off-white looks dated. I'm a real estate nerd, lol.
I’ve never watched a 45 min RUclips clip and have been glued to the entire content. Well done on another fantastic video. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
Moral of the story when you stick together as a family you can accomplish just about anything. Most family’s that split up struggle through life! Not all but most…
@@aseb649 tbh that line of thinking is why were in a tailspin as a people. People abandon, Claim toxicity or something else far to quickly. Weve become coddled.
Theres no greater feeling of purpose than coming home to beautiful children and a beautiful wife who loves you. I see in America and Western Europe though that starting a family is too much of a burden or commitment.
I'd rather live that lifestyle than what we got going on in urban areas where both parents got to work just to be paying rent surrounded by tons of people you don't know and aren't connected to you or care about you. These people are doing it right
You need to learn about the whole Amish culture before you say "I'd rather." People leave that life for a variety of reasons. You have to be born Amish...they do not recruit. I think if a member marries or dates a person of color or different ethnicity they would be shunned. Its not racially acceptable to outsiders. They are very closed to others.
There is a huge flaw in this beautiful perfect Amish isolated life. Most of key products medicines, technologies they use are came from ugly, dirty, violent world. Plus they are outer protected by army and politics of outer dirty world origin. So in a sense they are living another forced artificial beautiful life half or majorily dictated by Bible and similar "dark" rules.
These people are HUMBLE and honest with themselves in a lot of ways. I love hearing them talk in a group because you can notice that when one is talking and another interjects, more often than not, the one talking will acknowledge the interjection by seamlessly sewing it into what they're already saying to include the other person without giving up the microphone. It's really beautiful and a bit of a lost art I think.
“So this is your compass in life?” * Picks up the song book * 😭😂😂 Amish folks are so wholesome! That story about the girl with the lung transplant medical bill blew my mind. What beautiful people! God bless them.
Peter, I've been watching your videos for about a month, I love them all, but this is one of my favorites because there is so much truth being shared. You're doing great work, Sir.
When they started singing “our god, he is alive” I literally started bawling. I fell away from my Christian faith years ago and I hadn’t heard that song in a long time. It reminded me of how I felt when sang that.
Nostalgia does hit hard. I also cry whenever I hear salah (muslim prayer) to mourn my innocence despite knowing how oppressive my life actually was. It's okay to let these feelings out, it's how we heal from past scars.
Maybe consider visiting a local church. I’d recommend any of the eastern branches, Like Greek or Russian orthodox. I was raised catholic but now I feel very at home with my community at my Pan-Orthodox church
This was more moving than I expected it to be. I literally watched every second of this video. I’m humbled by their community and will take a lot of motivation and lessons from them forward with me. This is coming from all the way in Sydney, Australia.
I live within an hours drive of this community and there are large communities of them all through the whole northeast and north central of ohio. I own land in the country where I can see horse drawn buggies go up and down my country road everyday. I admire so much about their community and in many ways they are better off than us english are.
Here from QLD. I really admired their way of life. I’m Christian and I thought Amish was just a cult like community. But through this video, I could clearly see, we are no different. Truely moved by this video
I’ve been getting a kick out of the Amish and Mennonite videos because of how wholesome they are! 🌿🌿🌸🌸Keep the great work up, Peter! (Edit: Oh my goodness, this comment blew up! I’m amazed!)

@@paullanguedoc of course there's a dark side of any society, but the core tenets of this community comes across as something modern life has forgotten and should aspire to.
Here is an oversimplified list of different types of Amish I met while in Holmes County, Ohio:
-SWARTZENTRUBER AMISH (the most conservative and most removed from the modern world)
-DAN AMISH (somewhat removed from everybody else, conservative)
-OLD-ORDER AMISH (can't drive vehicles but some of them can ride as passengers, only have steel wheels on their carriages, not rubber.
This is the group in the video)
There are many other sects and to confuse things even more each sect has different rules depending on their church.
See you next Sunday!

my take on what Josh was trying to explain at 10:47: schools should teach math and science and history and literature. Parents should teach their kids values and morals and self-discipline and respect and how to live. It's not good for the kids when parents give up that responsibility and let schools and daycares do the parenting.
Yes. 100%
Totally true! The parents quit teaching, the family is broken. No dads in family (alot of the time). And people wonder why the schools are failing-And now it’s all about social issues.
Well said
Agree but sadly many don't get taught at home.

Jesus and his disciples set out
for the villages of Caesarea Philippi.
Along the way he asked his disciples,
“Who do people say that I am?”
They said in reply,
“John the Baptist, others Elijah,
still others one of the prophets.”
And he asked them,
“But who do you say that I am?”
Peter said to him in reply,
“You are the Christ.”
Then he warned them not to tell anyone about him.
He began to teach them
that the Son of Man must suffer greatly
and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes,
and be killed, and rise after three days.
He spoke this openly.
Then Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him.
At this he turned around and, looking at his disciples,
rebuked Peter and said, “Get behind me, Satan.
You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do.”
I don't mean to be rude, but I just arrived home from Mass to continue watching this video, and I am struck by your comment in a very intriguing way. So who am I to judge someone else that is truly also seeking the Lord, even if they are unaware? We think as human beings do, not as God does.

@@amyk1164 Many Amish women have jobs. They are not all “just” housewives.
Thank you for doing and sharing these, Peter! or emulate the parts of their culture you like
Different, how so? Many of these people use the same tech we do, they get ALL the benefits from science, yet deny it.

Truly blessed and beautiful people. You are an inspiration to all. Thank you for sharing your lives. God Bless each of you.
This is powerful and something I have always wanted in my own life. Is to live there life style and have a true sense of community without all the nonsense from Government and the media. So I will be going on a internet fast. Work on building a community like theirs
I'll help
I will pray for your success.
All the best. We can regret things in life that we didnt do as well as the things we did.
Second that
Same here
Moral of the story when you stick together as a family you can accomplish just about anything. Most family’s that split up struggle through life! Not all but most…
well said.
Family isn't necessarily blood related . Family is where you feel at home base on values and understanding of each other .
@@aseb649 very true
@@aseb649 tbh that line of thinking is why were in a tailspin as a people. People abandon, Claim toxicity or something else far to quickly. Weve become coddled.
Theres no greater feeling of purpose than coming home to beautiful children and a beautiful wife who loves you. I see in America and Western Europe though that starting a family is too much of a burden or commitment.
Wow that is a great way to help each other thru medical problems !
I'd rather live that lifestyle than what we got going on in urban areas where both parents got to work just to be paying rent surrounded by tons of people you don't know and aren't connected to you or care about you. These people are doing it right
You have to be insane to use the Bible for moral guidance.
Yuppie degeneracy.
@@nancyschumacher8940 I agree with them ! I don't see where is the problème 🙂😃!!!!
I love this family and community. As a Christian it’s given me lots to think about.
:)
definitely on the same page
These people are HUMBLE and honest with themselves in a lot of ways. I love hearing them talk in a group because you can notice that when one is talking and another interjects, more often than not, the one talking will acknowledge the interjection by seamlessly sewing it into what they're already saying to include the other person without giving up the microphone. It's really beautiful and a bit of a lost art I think.
Respect & love to this very precious family...to God be the glory.
You are a true journalist, Peter! You do more good for us than all of the major news networks put together!
“So this is your compass in life?” * Picks up the song book * 😭😂😂
Amish folks are so wholesome! That story about the girl with the lung transplant medical bill blew my mind. What beautiful people! God bless them.
Peter is a GREAT CONVERSATIONALIST! That was wonderful!
Awww...let your heart be revived in the love if God.He will never turn you away.
Nostalgia does hit hard. I also cry whenever I hear salah (muslim prayer) to mourn my innocence despite knowing how oppressive my life actually was. It's okay to let these feelings out, it's how we heal from past scars.
I hope you came back to your Christain faith and to Jesus today...
Maybe consider visiting a local church. I’d recommend any of the eastern branches, Like Greek or Russian orthodox. I was raised catholic but now I feel very at home with my community at my Pan-Orthodox church
He’s dead
This was more moving than I expected it to be. I literally watched every second of this video. I’m humbled by their community and will take a lot of motivation and lessons from them forward with me. This is coming from all the way in Sydney, Australia.
I felt the same way!
I second that from SA. Nice very nice
Truely moved by this video
yeah ya'll are living in a police state the polar opposite of this lifestyle.
I’ve been getting a kick out of the Amish and Mennonite videos because of how wholesome they are! 🌿🌿🌸🌸Keep the great work up, Peter!
(Edit: Oh my goodness, this comment blew up! I’m amazed!)
Me too. Seems like such a great life.
WHOLESOME... 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
you're being duped fyi. it's a facade - they'll speed up & pass right by you if you were lying in the road & then beat their horse when it's exhausted in the summer heat.
@@paullanguedoc of course there's a dark side of any society, but the core tenets of this community comes across as something modern life has forgotten and should aspire to.
@@paullanguedoc hmmm. Interesting. Really?
Peter I don't know how I came to watch your videos but I found joy in them.
