Thank you so much!
Are all base materials the same in buoyancy?
This my friend is undoubtedly one of the best tutorial I have seen. It's not cringy. It's not long winded. you show the functionality. The steps. I didn't feel like clicking the next tutorial. Pleased at your video editing skills, they are superb. Thank you.
Wow, thanks!
This is the first video for me and I'm glad I picked it
I agree. I sometimes stop in my game to learn something and when it is long winded and doesn't get to the point, I give up and try to figure it out myself. lol His tutorials are perfect!
Agreed! Thanks!
Agree!
Dude, the movement part with the sails was insane. Such creativity! Helped a ton!
I finally wanted to make a raft and this so helpful, specially crafting it in the video. Makes it so much easier and step by step to understand, thank you so much man :')
Never even thought about putting a shelf on the raft before, great tip!
I've never thought there was a bug and that the shelves float above the boat 😑😞
Would be nice if the bed and still could be put on the raft too
I've set up my current raft with 4 sails and I gotta say it's the best thing ever! Wish I had know about it when I first started playing the game XD Thank you very much. I find I almost never use the rudder anymore.
Just started this game recently and just tried making rafts and didn't work well so thanks! This will help me immensely
Just getting into stranded deep and I appreciate the video. Long enough to give you the basics plus a few helpful tips but not dragged out too long or full of useless rambling. Good stuff.
After a terrifying encounter with a hammerhead shark who flipped my inflatable raft several times I am finally committed to spending my time focusing on building a raft with a sail and rudder to put run that mean beast.. my heart was racing but I managed to make it home alive..m daaamn that's my second close encounter with death in this game.
Full health, food and water, saved the game I am currently about to paddle out to find the resources I need to get started.
Thank you for these videos they are really helpful
I got this over a year ago an played the life out of it, had a little year hiatus an thanks to another gaming channel started up again this week. But may I say, you’re videos are fantastic they’re incredibly informative and put together really well. And that tip about the bases being removable an shall we say confusing the game to think it’s still their is absolute genius, this will make massive rafts way more accessible now so thank you immensely. Keep up the cracking content sir.
I love this tutorial you explained it very easy so I know what I’m doing thank you so much for making this video!!
Thanks. Great vid w/ much good and useful information. I struggled MIGHTILY getting the floor/deck parts to go on. Eventually I had to bring the raft out into open water and there I FINALLY got them on. Not sure why I struggled so bad but from what I saw when I searched "Stranded Deep Can't get floor to go on raft" I was far from the only one that ran into this playing the game 😆
YAAY I'll finally make a good raft thx GDG your the best guide person
This just changed the way I play this game. Thankyou so much. I never built a raft because I thought the original survival boat was good enough, you have changed that view entirely.
The inflatable raft!?
Me and my sister just recently started to play this game, so this is the best tutorial i have seen to make a decent (basic raft), its not too long, you didnt complicate things when you were giving out the description when you made it. So thank you so much!
is she hot?
AWESOME!!! Thanks for making this amazing and helpful video!
This is great, well done thanks! I accidentally made my first raft with the sail backwards... it does handle well so i left it that way :)
Also thanks to this, i now have a reverse sail to back out of beach landings. AND i threw on the motor, 'cause parts are just everywhere, so why not?
It's was a great idea to show the quick craft on the boat. Now everyone knows how to get the tires out of the tankers easily. I now have a reference to when I put a canopy on. I always get them backwards...lol.
Lol
Not really that funny
Very helpful tips! I picked up the game back when it was early access and played it a good bit, just getting back into it again and your videos are seriously handy!
Welcome back!
You fit so much into this video. Great job!
Ty kindly
Thanks so much for this video, and the many others you have made this game..
I steer the way you do. Thanks for that tip. So much easier.
Brilliant guide and in using it I made a 3 x3 (which has wings on the side like a ladies tamp** lol), I put my rudder in the centre of the raft; I have the anchor in front which I can reach without leaving the rudder. I have 2 sails left and right of the anchor which I can also reach without leaving the rudder - the left sail goes forward, the right sail reverses. Using this setup you can sail backwards or forwards to your own preference. I like to go forwards so when Im reversed clear of land I spin the raft on a tight axis. By doing this if you're quick enough you can keep sight of the island youre heading to (bit like an ice skater focuses on one point when spinning) which is a big help in compass free runs....(its easy to lose focus in bad weather)
Well explained no BS, thank you 🤙🏻
Smaller rafts can handle almost as well with fewer resources. A 3x3 raft with container shelves in each corner, a rudder under a canopy, an adjacent anchor, and a single sail can not only practically go in circles, you can fully automate the craft while never letting go of the rudder. You raise the sail, grab the rudder, then raise the anchor to go. A considered approach and good timing with the anchor makes most tricky maneuvers unnecessary.
I almost follow the same style, but putting shelves on the sides blocks the view too much while scanning for islands due NE, NW, SE and SW.. so I tried positioning them BEHİND the rudder (by adding additional raft parts on the sides).. but this time getting the raft out to the sea becomes even worse of a problem than it already is..
I really enjoy your how to vids it’s always super simple and straight forward
Edit: I subbed
Yup
I just picked this game up since i was bored. It loaded an old save file and I'm totally new to the game so I'll just vanilla reset tomorrow. Appreciate the videos
Helped me so much, appreciate it man
Thank you, this was actually pretty useful! :)
This was a fantastic video to come across! I'd about given up hope of figuring rafts out. Thank you for this!
Glad you enjoyed it!
OUTSTANDING Video. Started out with a great overview then went on to the basics of building a raft for us newbies. I am a subscriber to Granddaddy Gamer because he remembers what it was like to be a newbie in the game.
Much easier to just build everything on top of boxes to elevate it. Was going crazy building in water and then got that idea. Just a tip to players. The shelf thing is awesome. Had no idea you could do that on a raft. Will help alot. Great video mate!
That’s a good idea I never thought of
Bro i was going nuts trying to build my raft in the water too 😅
Love the video, you have given a lot to think about.
Appreciate the vid man. Didn’t know your rudder can be built in the middle like that (bases around it) think I’m going to try that
I like your sail strategy, I use a catamaran design with my rudder nearer the middle of the raft but yours is better once you get the hang of the layout. Nice one!
Thanks heaps. The advice made all the difference :)
tnxs m8 you rock! Nice explanation, nice organize you help e lot!
I already completed the game, but i decided to start again and also decided to watch this. Thank you for the video
I’m very glad this video did as well as it did. I didn’t think many people cared for stranded deep anymore but I guess I was wrong
Awesome. Great video. Thank you
Unsure if already mentioned but when navigating backwards, keep the rudder pointing the direction you want the craft to go. I have to watch the rudder because my thumb keeps on pressing the wrong way! And totally easier!
Good work dude this has helped me out so much thanks
I know this is old but I really appreciate it. You make the game playable.
I see your still at it bro! nice video great tips for the new players. I see you like that hole in the middle 😉 me too. 😆
Very helpful, thank you!
Best tutorial yet nice work
Not going to lie, that last tip about adding basses to your raft "in the wild" seems like a great way to transport certain resources without taking up cargo space. Thanks for it.
So useful,thanks alot bro:)
That was hugely helpful! Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Love your guides...thanks!
My pleasure!
Awesome video. I’m definitely gonna try this. 👍
Please do!
Haha, i had a great raft with all my gear. Alot. I jumped off some reason and watched my raft disappear full sail. Never played since but good video
hey granddaddy gamer your tutorial was very helpfull thanks for helping me be able to make a raft it was very hard for me.
Glad to help
been trying to figure out wth the hooks are for! and been rollin with my crates just chillin on my raft always falling off never knew you could build a container shelf on there! thanks
Thank you. Good job.
Thanks this helped alot
such a good tutorial this helped so much
You were very helpful bro thank you
14:00 I screwed myself XD ! , Thanks for the video tho man , very good tutorial !!!!
That was pretty awesome and helpful
Hands down the best raft tutorial online
This was awesome. This kids is how you make a RUclips video. I learned so much from this. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'm a beginner and I thought everything was covered thx u for the help
Nice Video. Thank you.
Thank you for this.
Great video!
This helped me tons, you are a Chad.
Awesome! ❤️
Helpful my friend
Sick vid bro. Thx
thank you, i would have missed so much without you
Good vid ..just bought this on Boxing Day 2021.. Huge learning curb but fun.
Enjoy it
Thanks!
This is so helpful since me and my gf are playing co op on console! Thank you
Glad I could help!
That's so cool, thanks.
So with that trick of building a split raft base, could you then build floors on top of the "missing" base, thereby making a catamaran?
Thank you this
I found this video very helpfull thank you a ton! Only had 1 question, what seed are you on? I really want that island for a base location
Great job 👍
Answered all my questions 🥰
What I would really like to know what is the purpose/difference of having brick flooring to stick flooring? plus tyres and buoy balls are nice to use compared to barrels
For floors, none whatsoever. Corrugated and wood are cheap, planks are a little more expensive,, and brick is ridiculous (you could make a raft out of the materials from four islands with clay instead of a small group of trees). There's marginal differences between the types of bases, other than a little depth and how readily the resources are available.
Bouys are usually found in large quantity, you can usually make about four with a container ship. Tires are one and a half per stack, barrels are one per stack.
Think it has to do with durability from attacks, but never had a wood raft break. Maybe just for looks?
I’m trying the game again… Bought it long time ago and early release and ice still dislike the user interface so bad, but after nine hours yesterday, a lot of things started to click, and become in my memory. I am super thrilled vers. 1.+ higher has been released so at least I can say if I have trouble it’s because of me and not so much of the bugs in the game. I’m also thrilled. There’s a goal and a plan to get rescued… Never understood the way to get out of the game or to finish or end it, really glad I get the full experience now. So I’ve also really appreciate your tutorial like the other comment said super detailed and precise. Looks like the tires are the way to go. And I’ve been to two islands… Does anyone know how many islands are in total? Thanks again for the video.
Your videos are so helpful man
Thank you kindly
I like to build a 3x3 (or 3x4) with the center of 2nd row empty. Like an “0” shape. The sail should go either right or left on 1st row, anchor centered at front, and motor/rudder in the empty spot. (You can replace rudder with motor later, because the motor will act as a rudder when you run out of gas.) Then put shelves on the back row or rows. This configuration puts you at the front to drive the raft with clear view and with sail & anchor in easy reach.
It is amazing! I've never thought that this could be possible. Thanks for the tips. Now, I couldn't stop noticing this island, where did I find it? Is it a mod?
I made it myself for testing stuff. Fairly easy I’m sure you do something similar
Hello I'm 2 days into the game have to say really liking the game. However I'm at the point where a raft is prolly more safer then that yellow tip over. I was having problems with the raft watched your video only to find out you that they automatically join haha. I will be watching your videos from here on out cheers
Awesome video
Great video! Thanks for the clear and concise information. I was wondering- where can I find the island that you’re on? It seems like the ideal place to set up a base
its a custom island i use for tutorial videos
I still hope they will add an option to build real ships, like a brigg or a sloop. Would be a fun mix of survival and feeling like a pirate.
You've been playing a little to much sea of theives lol
cool video thank you
thanks so much was driving me nuts that you couldnt attach after construction
I made a raft that kind of resembles the y wing from Star Wars. Where the engines would be on the y wing, I placed container racks and right behind the “cockpit” is the rudder and sail
Thanks Grandpa
The floor on barrels adds weight to it, so it will sink a little bit more.
So I'm new to this game just recently found it while looking for something outside my normal game play of shooter games. I'm big into survival and outdoors stuff so this game kinda seemed up my alley. Now those crates can you store item's in them? I have explored 1 ship and took from a crate but wasn't sure you could take the crate and use it. I've explored many many islands already with just the beginning raft and luckily only be flipped 1 time. I built a single wood raft but was confused as to how the 2 sections connected cause it didn't give a option, and I kinda feel it should say something as i have up on it because I didn't notice that you just place them next to each other and theu stay automatically. I'm digging the game but it somewhat confusing at time's with limited info so you're channel is becoming a life saver thank you.
yes you can use the wood crates for storage .. you can also make shelves to store them on and even attach them to your raft (costs 3 wood planks) i advise use them as much as possible. side note here nothing despawns in this game, so the more you leave laying about the more the game has to render even if youve left that island so use item piles and wood crates as much as possible ( console will be getting item piles in the next update). if you want to remove unwanted items from the game simply toss them into the ocean while sailing, as the bottom of the ocean has no bottom and is just a void (yes ive checked lol). doing this will remove the items from the game and you will not be able to get them back so choose wisely. Good luck Survivor!
@@GranddaddyGamer I also took the advice of using the rudder like you explained and it's so easy that way ty for that also.
I typically do a 3x4 but instead of adding floors to the middle sections you can just set boxes in there and the won't slide out
Ooooh interesting idea!
Thanks for the video, I'm just wondering if you get more speed if you build two sails pointed in the same direction? 🤔🤔
unfortunately no
what a nice island u got :D
I like your Guides, you got the best organized ones and everything of you is well thought through.
I think it's just about the old school I've deserved too.
Could you tell me please how you've found this wonderful Island with the plane up on the rocks?
I'm on PS4 and I kind of bet it's not possible for console.
i made it .. but on PC
Update I built my raft also fell off my raft and lost it. Also I learned you need to build and connect your raft bases before you put floors down on them because they won't snap together. Once again thanks for this video.
omg this tips i really loved it
I have a huge guide list for this game feel some are older but still relevant feel free to dive when you need help or ask
Bro… HOOOOOOWWWW are you so good at tips
