I've found that big rafts have a huge drawback, besides being difficult to steer. The larger my rafts got, the more time I was away from my base. Every time I returned after a large resource gathering trip, all my crops were dead despite even using corrugated farm plots. And once I got my base built, there was no longer any need for huge rafts. Potato farming became much more important to me. And so, small fast rafts were the way to go. I could get out quickly, gather some resources, and get back without damaging my potatoes. The big raft then became just a giant waste of space. In fact, most times, I never even filled up all the chests I had available to me on the big raft. Once you get farming plots set up, small and fast would be my recommendation. Maybe even a medium sized raft with storage space for the base build.

Added Volumetric Clouds.
Added HDR TV Support - HDR on the console must be configured to see this effect and HDR brightness can be controlled in the options menu.

"I'm getting a collection of sharks" Hahaha that cracked me up for some reason.
Once you level up a skill you get max materials back. I think its harvesting, its been awhile since I've played.
Harvesting is reduced number of hits to fell trees, break up logs into sticks, and clear fiber sprouts and trees.
Crafting at 10 will refund all materials for most items, some like the Plank Maker don't refund certain parts like it's Refined Axe.
It was a balancing thing, the Refined Axe could be used to clear all the trees on an island, then make a Plank Maker, then broken down and it would return a Refined Axe at 100% durability again.

On ps4 if your raft is too big , the meg can glitch under & constantly turn under the raft.
You can move your raft with a crude hammer or coconut(untouched cause coconut drink or empty ones glitch you can kick you off your raft) or any small object. I just use objects that float just in case I hit a wave.

You have to place the motor on the "outside" perimiter of the raft and then build around it

The fact that he can build a Long Boat like that it's just incredible what are the chances he's also figured out how to build a campfire on his raft as well as a water still I mean I would have a freaking mobile base with everything that I would need dude I would make my raft a f****** island of its own a mobile Island if I could with all the Essentials the problem is the game doesn't let you save when you're traveling on water even if you're in the center of the ocean and you have your anchor dropped trust me I tried unless you need to have wooden foundation or something to be able to sleep and save on your raft
You just gave me an idea to build a bridge to another island for easy access :O

I've been trying to do one of the boats from Waterworld with a boat section on the sides with a connection in the middle. Kind of like a big H shape, but the damn PS5 version is finicky as hell, not letting me do things it should obviously be able to do.

I found that if you build a raft and put a container shelf on it, you can destroy the piece of raft it's sat on and it will still be there floating like it's still on the raft. Maybe a way of getting more storage 🤷

How did you remove the raft base when it's connected on more than one side? It won't let me destroy a raft and I'm seeing a lot of people on Reddit are having this issue too.

to get back all the amterials you used on anything, use a knife... the axe might destroy some of it

brick floor. i havn't even tried that... where do i even get a big rock or whatever is needed? all I found are small ones, and then the big rock that you can use the pickaxe thingy on that gives you 6 small ones after you chopped it up.. but not big rocks or whatever that is which is needed
You use the pickaxe on clay deposits in the water. Make the clay into bricks with the furnace then add them to the raft with the hammer
If you didn't have a rudder in your boat, isn't that the reason why it didn't rotate?
I really don't know survival games insist you only get half your resources back. That 3rd tire didn't evaporate into the ether...

Having issues. The container crates just block all your vision out on the water. I need 6 crates just for supplies like food, water, first aid, antidote, extra gas, sleeping bag, etc. Any design that gives storage and still see where you going?

was looking for the same answer. I read elsewhere that if a raft base is connected to 2 or more pieces it is glitched in place and you can't move it..I've lost so many buoy balls because of it.
Make sure nothing is connected to it. Sail, rudden, anchor.
Other than that i never had a problem on xbox
