Tip #20 is especially important IMO. A few more tips I can share: #21: Offset sails and rudders will not make your raft sail crooked, so don't worry about keeping them on the centerline of the raft or in line with each other. Place them where they are most convenient to reach while operating the raft (tip 20). #22: Crates on the top shelf are at eye level when operating the raft, so your field of view will be obstructed when you put 3 crates on your shelves. Limit yourself to two crates per shelf whenever possible for improved vision. #23: Similarly, use the space behind you for additional storage so the shelves/ crates aren't obstructing your forward vision. #24: When you need to transport bulky items that can't be stored, knock out the floors (but not the foundations) in the center of your raft. heavy items will collide with the edges of the remaining floors and keep the load centered in rough seas. I call this a 'well deck'. #25: Place a lantern on a post on your raft. It will help you avoid accidentally stepping on a crown of thorns when disembarking in the dark and is just convenient. It also helps when reading your compass at night. Finally on the subject of the compass (not strictly raft related): The compass shows the direction the compass is pointed in, *not* the direction you're facing. There's about a 15 degree difference between those two directions and it can cause errors.
Thank you for the continuation! Very good point that I didn't catch. I like the wall deck concept, oddly enough i noticed getting hung up all the time on those platformless raft sections so that would work very well for keeping item safe on the raft. And yeah I've noticed that with the compass as well but thankfully I've only needed it as a rough guide. :) thanks again!
I find the fact that your compass points where it's pointing being different from where I'm looking to be largely irrelevant since the character holds it extremely consistently. Can you elaborate more on the possible errors since I can't see how that would be the case
I made a raft for the first time yesterday. I played roughly 40 hours over two years just collecting rocks and leaves. Hated it. But now I am zipping through the islands it’s a different game. I fell off my first raft and watched it sail into the distance. I was pretty heartbreaking.
very nice! Yeah the raft and island hopping are a big part of the game, glad youre getting work done now tho! :) I know how losing a raft goes too haha one of those things. The best course of action when that happens is to sprint swim after it and hope you can catch it before your stamina runs out. I try to remember to save before sailing in case that happens.
I lost my raft too! But I did actually swim after it for like 20 minutes and I got it back because it got stuck on an island! I just couldn't lose it! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wow, your world has so much life in it! I just love it! The many different rafts, the multi-level stairs next to the rock on your island, the docks, etc. :) It seems you're anything but stranded. :D
Hey thank you haha I appreciate that! This is the world from one of my first playthroughs so there has been a lot of stuff accumulated and built..also I have a custom island neighboring and that has a bunch of materials and extra stuff on it for testing and creative building. Super fun! 😁
I'm going to try a 5 long by 3 wide. The middle of the middle sections i will leave. The other two middle sections not on the edges of the raft I will take out. Use one empty side to put in a rudder for sail steering. The other side for motor driving. It really does help when your in the front of the craft driving and there isn't a bunch of stuff in the way. Basically your boat at the end of video you said you would built if doing it over again only I would lengthen it one section and do a motorized setup. Definitely important to have items accessible while holding onto the Rutter. You can't fall off while holding it. Drop your anchor before walking around to be safe. Nothing worse then watching your boat sail away and be lost. Great videos.
Definitely! I would have to say that a hotdog shaped raft (longer than wide) is the surefire way to go for the best result IMO. I like the idea of driving at the front versus the back to avoid your line of sight being obstructed. I am glad that they fixed the Rudder back to being able to interact with objects while using it; the first QOL from 2023 broke this feature. And yes dropping the anchor is best practice whenever not sailing. One mistake I used to make all the time is not raising the sails when lowering the anchor and so when i would pick up the anchor, the raft would start to move immediately. I've gotten better at this now tho. Thanks for checking out the videos, I appreciate it!
Thanks for your time and video, brother! Just started playing recently (6h played total) and always get my 3x3 raft stuck in stopping zones (above shipwrecks) with a hard time getting unstuck (having to swim and drag the raft amongst sharks and sea monsters haha). Cheers!
Yes of course it's my pleasure! Yeah I know your struggle all too well hahaha I try to avoid directly over the wrecks if I can, to avoid that. I've have a few times where a corner gets stuck under a small piece of the wreck or mast and it ends up flipping up all crazy like because of the anchor being down lolol just a mess but yeah it keeps it interesting haha. Cheers brother!
On PS5 I had a raft I called the Leviathan... took me most of the 114 starting hours of the game to make, was a whopping 80 sections long by 40 wide, had a few 'glitched' on campfires and water stills, then setup a section with a Fuel still, and glitched on a potato farm... It was an epic raft home, until an update reset my starting island and 'deleted' all the bits from it... including the raft due to the glitched on campfires...
That sounds epic as hell!! It would be so cool to be able to place those things on rafts without needing to glitch them. That's a bummer big time! I would have loved to see it haha damn updated wrecking everything fun!
@@Sharpie360 The only thing I couldn't have, was walls (which would have been even more epic), I kept most things to a reasonable space, (planters to the left 'top' side of the raft, campfires on clay covers at the 'home' zone, water stills nearby for ease of use, fishing supplies near the left side with no container, etc) overall it took all 20 Rock Anchors being used to stop when the sails were down and those rested on edges and 4 'pillars' with 4 directional sails in case I was in deep water and the anchor for some reason didn't deploy... all in all if I found an island Leviathan tended to beach on it until I could get all 4 omnidirection sail pillars in use... honestly wish I still had that raft... remade it on PC using mods to put down Campfires, Water Stills, Planters, cloth walls (single floor but gives you full coverage, so was cool) and made it so you actually needed to be by the fire for more than cooking if the weather went south (I have seen images of it snowing and such in the tropics so it can happen, better to be prepared than not)... I hope the devs eventually add that as a feature, if for nothing else than it encourages exploration as you can just lift anchor and move on when you loot an island dry... also hope they add in that coconuts and Palm Trees regrow, like say 3 months in the palm tree regrows the coconut and 300 days in the small palm tree grows into a Palm Tree...
That sounds like a very impressive system! I'm surprised the game held itself together while running that beast! Lol I've been curious about just how big you can go. I would imagine it's a bit more limiting on console than pc. An entire overhaul where you can build a house boat that is seaworthy enough to be used as an escape method would be super cool. That would require all the additional build things like walls and utilities for the raft itself.
It would be cool if the trees grew into large harvestable trees, I agree! Sons of the forest tried to pull that too and everyone was like yeah, no, make trees regrow. They did a 10% of cut trees grow back when the player sleeps overnight. But a more gradual method is more immersive. L Plus SD already has the different size models to use and could easily make it happen. I just wonder where their free time has really been focused these last couple years ;)
You and me both! I went thru the same thing and didn't even use a boat motor in my actual playthrough for 100 days survival because it seemed not worth it. 😂 Granted - i didnt have potatoes until like day 45 because of their notorious glitchy nature, so i wouldnt have fuel hahaha. Im glad i was able to help, thank you watching! 😎
Thanks so much for the great ideas. I like making a 3x3 simple log raft but I leave off the floor on the centre base as that makes a nice dip that I can place 7 chests on their sides in there which doesn't effect speed, of steering and no problems with sharks either. I use a quick 1x1 wood raft to go get other big rafts as I can then break it and put it in my pockets to return only losing a couple of bits of wood.
Yeah no problem! That's a good raft design for sure. Good point about the small raft and just breaking it. That's much easier than trying to big it back on the bigger raft haha 😁
Great tips, especially the reverse sail thing which at least to me is mind bogglingly counterintuitive (though I wouldn't say that physics is SD's strong suit). I got very good at pulling a U turn in the shallows and quick plunking down the anchor. Looking forward to the luxury of a reverse sail. One thing I noticed is that at least on small rafts, weight distribution does make a difference to steering. I had a 1x3 set up the wide way with the sail and rudder in the center and container shelves on one side and with the shelves chock full the rudder had to be constantly adjusted or it would just sail in a circle. Even with the shelves empty the alignment was terrible. I finally scrapped the shelves till I could make it bigger
Awesome! Yeah the reverse sail is a life saver when getting to and from islands. Lol one of my biggest cheeses about the game is how goofy the physics are. Yeah the smaller rafts can definitely be impacted in the handling department when it comes to steering. The large rafts just stop turning almost entirely if the raft gets too big. I think that's why you are able to place directional sails. My thing with that is having some small item like a knife that got dropped onto the raft and ends up really creating some drag and sinks the raft a bit. Heck, I sank my raft with half a dozen compasses this way. 🤣🤣 I hope the physics gets an overhaul for stranded deep 2!
Great tips! I'd like to add that you mentioned you can build a container shelf and remove the base and the shelf is still attached to the raft. Hovering in midair. I do the same thing with lantern posts. I'll have 2 of them extending one or two raft bases forward and two of them extending aft. The reason for this is when you land on an island you are going to scavenge, you basically have a lit staging area when you're gathering materials at night. It's pretty handy and you don't have to set up any other light source in your landing/staging area.
That's actually brilliant! An entire raft section being taken up by a lamp post is just a huge waste. Might as well just store the lantern, take it out and drop it when you land on shore.
One thing I should add, is that Raft Build Materials DO matter, just not as much as you might think. a Single Barrel raft takes three hits to flip, but will easily be caught up on surface flat rocks. Tires flip in a single hit like the Life Raft, but they almost never get caught on rocks just under the surface. Bouy and Sticks are functionally the same, one just takes 5 Bouy balls to make compared to the 14 sticks, and both are 2 maybe 3 hits if lucky to flip it by sharks. One more bit about the build materials is that the lower the raft is overall (a 3x5 Barrel raft for instance) will have issues keeping things stuck on top on the raft and can have items be lost at sea, while one barely skimming the surface like the tyre raft will usually only lose things if you sail into a storm.
Yeah I couldn't say about the number of hits it takes a shark to flip a raft. That must just be for a single or 2 section raft cause I take hits for days without any issue. I've heard people talk about the raft height and did a bit of testing but in my experience I don't typically get hung up on those rocks. If anything my issue is the ship masts and stuff sticking out of the water. As far as the items, IME if you have too many things just placed on the raft itself the raft will start sinking and eventually flip over. I always store things in storage chests on the raft shelves to avoid sinking down. I guess that way I don't have to worry as much about how buoyant the raft bases are either. There's a lot of different ways to do things. Thanks for the info!
@@Sharpie360 Honestly 2 section rafts are... well the physics is a little wonky but I have had them flip IF both sections are hit at the same time the number of times it takes to flip 1 section... so far only the Meg (when I accidentally destroyed my anchor,) and the great white have the hitbox needed to flip the raft, and most tend to go beyond 2x1 rafts by then. At 3 sections the raft become NEARLY unflippable, only being able to be flipped during storms. As for the items, I occasionally play multiplayer and see people still stacking crates or logs in the center, and since waves treat them the same as a compass and yeet them off the moment it covers a quarter of them, figured mentioning the height might help someone. As for the sinking thing, the bases also help if you fish out a shark. Tyres don't have as likeliness to sink and half the speed you are travelling... which can occasionally stall barrel rafts as my fifth character found out, may he rest in pieces because of the hammerhead who flipped the raft underwater and drowned him.. And yeah mostly the rocks at surface level or just around that are what can hang you up, but solid barrel base rafts can get stuck if the stone sticking up would breach during a storm.
Yeah you can definitely add a canopy over the rudder, and most other items as well. If you are having trouble placing it, you may need to place the canopy first and then the rudder after. Its kind of finicky like that but yeah you can. :)
Stranded deep is absolutely one of my favorite survivalist games. The fact that you have to create items to survive on a deserted island and you island hop when COVID came in. The world stopped and this game gave me an escape. I absolute the love this game all time favorite. They should radio and. Recipes for cooking❤
That's awesome and I know what you mean! Its one of my favorites as well! The concept is great and the minimal aspect is super cool. There are a number of things I'd like to have seen added as well, buried treasure would be cool to be able to find with a shovel or something lol cheers :)
I can not add fuel for some reason... I built a 9 panel raft with all buoy balls and added the raft motor in the back of the raft dead center and added a sail and the rudder I put in the front opposite side of where the boat motor is but I walk up to it with the Jerry can and I try to walk up to it and it keeps saying operate vehicle .... It doesn't add fuel or start the boat motor .. it keeps saying operate but won't let me add fuel or start the engine.. I tried on land and in the water.. dont know whats wrong ...any idea why i cant fuel the motor or even turn it on?
Sorry to hear that, what a drag! This may be a silly question, but did you fill the jerry can with fuel from a fuel still? Jerrys cans are always found empty (at least ive never found one filled). It sounds like there is no fuel. You could try to destroy and then rebuild the boat motor - maybe something got glitched out. The placement of the motor should not affect it operating or not. I hope this helps!
@@Sharpie360 omg I'm so stupid .. I thought the Jerry cans already has fuel in them already when you find them lol thank you so much I appreciate you .. I'm a new sub
New sub !! Thanks for your time sorry on the sail and speed. 🎉🎉🎉 My raft is simple. Sail forward facing, back facing, with canopy in-between and rudder is on that canopy section and anchor to the left or right.
Do you need to build the wooden raft to escape the first island? I’m stuck on the first island every time I use the yellow raft it gets flipped and I die any help?
It will certainly work a lot better trying to do it with a wooden raft. You can use the life raft but it's a pain and very tippy in any amount of storm. You can also, might sound crazy, but you can also just straight swim to another island too. Just remember to save so you don't loss any progress in case you run across a shark. But yeah a wooden raft is the way to go but if you have other materials loke barrels, tires, or buoy balls, those are much more cost effective. A wood raft base is like 14 sticks I think. Very expensive! I hope this helps you!! Best of luck.
Online co op is its own beast and there is tethering so you won't be able to go too far away from each other. You can still swim if you both do go at the same time I think. Co op is pretty buggy on PC so I don't spend too much time playing it that way.
Idk why but I can't seem to build a raft canopy on the same tile as an anchor or the rudder. Everyone I watch seems to have a canopy over the rudder. Am I missing something?
Hmm that's strange. Which platform are you playing on? And have you tried building the canopy first and then trying to place a rudder or anchor on that tile after the canopy?
@@Sharpie360 I play on PS4. I heard somewhere that it is behind in updates from PC. Maybe you're onto something. I have tried to switch the build order and neither will snap in place when the other is already there. Sads cause it makes the canopy essentially useless since I play solo and am always on the rudder :/
Yeah that's probably what is happening then 😕 you're right that the console version is not as far along as the PC version but IIRC I think they're working on the new updates for the console currently. I'd have to double check the last patch notes but I'm fairly certain its in the works! For now the best bet would be to have the on the tiles directly infront of and or around you to maximize shade and maybe try limiting the sailing to morning and evenings when the UV isn't high. Best of luck to ya! Thanks for the question too :)
That's a really good question! I'm not sure, being how the sails work I'd think not but being that co-op is kind of a mess, it could work maybe. Next time I'm in a co-op session I'll have to try it out 😎
Question i built a big raft but i forget to add the tires and stuff on the bottom of ot first can i add them on the side so it will still float fine? Or is there anyway i can add it to the bottom without destroying my raft?
Unfortunately I don't think there is a solution other than rebuild. From what it sounds like, you have a bunch of raft floors connected together without any bases? I'm wondering if it bugged and allowed you to do that cuz I don't think you should be able to just build and connect raft floors together, they usually only snap to raft bases. I will do some investigating quick and see what I can find!
I was unable to replicate having only the raft floors without the bases. The game should not allow this so im thinking you may have encountered a bug! they are pretty common in SD :(
Another question how do you keep the tires and balls together? I always have to break the chain or rope first then drag them separately to wherever i need to take them i haven't found a way to drag either of them together i am on ps4 if that helps
Yeah that's how you have to gather them unfortunately. You wont be able to interact with them until the group is broken apart. Tires can be easier to try to carry on your raft cuz they don't roll around, but the weight of them may cause issues with the raft itself. The physics are kinds strange like that. What you can try to do instead of bringing them back to the raft you're building, is bring the raft you're building to where they are. Break them and place the raft section right there in the water. Just keep an eye out for sharks and make sure you have a hammer and the lashing with you :) Also, im not 100% sure how it strict it is on PS4 but you will want to make sure the game is fully updated for that version too. Hope this helps! let me know :)
IIRC if you have the materials (I think it was just a rope?) you can select the base you want to build, swim with the blueprint and click when you are on land, you don’t need to drag any.
That would be super cool to be able to build more of a raft base type raft than just a transportation raft! Unfortunately, we are pretty limited in what we can build on the raft and it has to snap properly and all that, but things like a shelter, fire or water collector cant be placed on a raft. Same goes for any of the building structures too. THere are some mods out there that allow you place workstations on the rafts, as far as building I don't know. Great idea tho! Love it 😎🎩
Random question. Is it true sharks can flip over *wooden* and *rubber rafts* as I read an article on Stranded Deep that was posted in March of 2023 how they can. I know sharks don't respawn when you kill them unlike super crabs but yeah can you confirm if this write-up is true? Please por-favor mi amigo. :)
Yes and no. It mainly depends on the size of the raft, I've only ever had it happen to me on a single section raft but nothing bigger. What can also be tricky is rough seas with a small raft. You'll want to make sure you have at least a 2x2 at a minimum and the best bet is anything 3x3 or larger. I have a raft right now that I've only used buoy balls for and it doesn't seem to have any noticeable difference compared to one made of heavier materials. There are a number of articles out there that don't really have the most accurate information, loke I saw one saying sharks can destroy your raft, which is not the case. There could be miniscule pros and cons to the raft material but like I said, once you have a decent size raft, it basically makes no difference. At least in my experience! I hope this helps, thank you for the question my friend!
Also, sharks will respawn if you leave the island for long enough, I've had sharks respawn on loading into my save too. Like the corpse was still on shore yet another swam in the water. So I would definitely never let your guard down unless you know for sure there's no sharks. And even then, lol my glitch island 6 episode I dealt with all types of glitched out sharks so that's a thing too 🤣
Yeah unfortunately the raft size for console looks to be 5W x 4L. But I guess console storage chests have more inventory slots? That's what I'm seeing reported at least!
@@Sharpie360 true! I was trying to build some nice raft, but no luck with that limit. I would be interested to see a video of "the best 5W x 4L raft possible for console"!
@@peterjordanson4201 limitations can be a drag, that puts me back in the feels of my incomplete fallout 4 base back on console. That would be cool to see! Maybe one day if I ever get my Xbox up and running, and capturable I guess lol 😆 😅
Thanks for the tips. Now I understand why using the raft motor as a replacement for a rudder was a bad idea. xD I'd like to share a new tip. You can place the rudder at the front of the raft. Best visibility for it, IMO. The only downside is the turning is reverted so if you want to turn left, move it right. Not an issue after you get used to it. You can also do this with the raft motor but the motor itself will block visibility. You can still see if you stop using it since the character stands up when you do.
No problem! Yeah the motor is great for speed and that's about it lol. That's a good idea! I know what you mean about the "sailing in reverse" too haha I like to think it's cutting a course through the water 😆
Best boat...trust me is a 5 barrel wide long boat. Il tell you why..the outer row(row 5 is for your shelves for storage row 4 is for a walk way and row 3(the middle) is for leaving out the planks for sharks etc so it dont move in waves..hope that helps i make it that way and it works great evry time 👍🙏
That's a good layout! I could see that being really effective. I always get hung up on the edges of the sections that don't have floors lol. I bet it would work well for dropping a bunch of chests onto too. They could slide around but be safe.
Here's a tip I would like to share: My raft started handling like CRAP over time. it was sinking in the rear corner and the opposite end lifting out the water. Caused my sleeping bag to be yeeted off. The tip is that I had some flare guns I dropped on the deck and over time they migrated to the rear corner and caused it to sink. By accident while clearing space in a box I dropped another flare on the opposite side and noticed the dining side wasn't as sunk anymore. then removed all guns and it went to normal. placed 3 in one spot and it SANK. I didn't try with anything else but I recommend NOT dropping items on your raft. 😅
Yeah! This is a perfect example of how bad the physics are in this game. A flare gun will be just as heavy as a shark 🤣 or shark is as light as a flare gun. Either way it makes things tricky ha
For these videos I dropped a custom island next to my main one and loaded it up with raft building resources, otherwise it would have taken way too long to gather all that up! You can add a ton of materials quickly that way.
No you're good. You should be able to make a light hook, which is more of a standing pole than a wall hook but it can be placed on different surfaces. The wall hooks are just for trophies but you may be able to rest the lantern on it. or shelfing works for this as well. I think they're in both console and pc versions! You gotta craft and place the lighthook then you can attach the lantern! :)
I've only ever had that happen on a single section raft IIRC. But I'd say anything with 6 sections or more and you'll be okay. a 3x3 is your best bet. Anything bigger and the sharks just bonk their heads lol
You don't have to go back to a single island, you can build or do whatever you want at any of the islands. I typically have a base island I always go back to.
Haha this is true!! I've gotten pretty far but ran out of materials to keep going but it was long enough that when I was at the shore side, the far panels started reverting to their low LOD billboards and had no more collision so I couldn't go any further. :( lmao
I have been thinking about starting a new playthrough for a series! I have one more episode of fountain of youth to record but it doesn't seem like there is much interest in that series so I'll be looking to start something new. 😄
@@Sharpie360 With the new patch, it might be worth another run through. I really liked this detailed rundown of raft building so I'm going to subscribe in hopes you do give this game another go. My wife and I have played Stranded Deep through several times. I even made my own custom island on Steam called Dawn's Oasis. It's a great base building island. Thanks for the video.
In my experience I have never had a shark do damage to my raft. So I don't believe so. They can flip it if it's small enough but I don't think it does damage.
@@Sharpie360 kinda sucks cause you’ll never get attacked…so basically if you have a 2x3 raft you’ll never die cause the shark simply can’t do anything… the developers should make the game enemies more intense..cause whenever I see a shark I’ll just get on the boat and throw crude spears it’s way too easy
Yeah I agree, it really puts a damper on the danger aspect. I don't think we will see anything like out of the devs. Maybe some mods out there can add that tho, Idk. But that's this game lol 😆

Yeah! I feel like the more boat one would work better for me than the diamond. But that's because I seem to cut turns very close to obstructions so when I've had rafts in the past with 1 section offshoots like the diamond, (just for sake of separating your two designs), I tend to catch an edge and get all turned around 🤣😅 For the raft I'm building in my series, the buoy raft, it's going to be a big one, at least 5x6 I'd like to go 6x8 or larger and see how it goes using the directional sails (sails facing all 4 directions) because the rudder because useless at that size. Haha. Cheers! Let me know what other designs you end up using :)
LMAO someone that is a glutton for punishment. I mainly just did so to see how it would react and to see if placement of sails did matter or not as far as going straight or veering off at an angle. That and the stability of a single wide raft. Cant say I recommend a 1xAnything design hahah
Tip #20 is especially important IMO. A few more tips I can share:
#21: Offset sails and rudders will not make your raft sail crooked, so don't worry about keeping them on the centerline of the raft or in line with each other.
Tip 21 is a hard no. My ocd would never allow that😂😂😂
@tee-ravis that is fair 🤣🤣

Plus SD already has the different size models to use and could easily make it happen. I just wonder where their free time has really been focused these last couple years ;)
If you wanted to recreate this, theres a mod on nexusmods that lets you place a few structures!
Oh man, my friend and I wondered why our raft felt so slow with the new motor we built 🤣 thanks for sharing your knowledge! 😁
I had to watch this vid again cause the info you gathered is gold 😁👍 thanx a mil !
Thats awesome! Haha feel free to watch it as many times as ya like 😉 I'm glad its been so helpful for you!
This is unrelated but I admire that you still like and reply to comments a year after posting a video. 😁
Haha no worries at all, that's one of my favorite parts about making videos! I'm glad that you appreciate that 😎🙏
One thing I should add, is that Raft Build Materials DO matter, just not as much as you might think. a Single Barrel raft takes three hits to flip, but will easily be caught up on surface flat rocks.
Duuuuude nice work my brother :)
haha thank you dude! hopefully my tips help you if you ever venture into Pacifica one day. :)
Thank you
Anytime!!
Is there a way to add a canopy directly above a rudder?
Yeah you can definitely add a canopy over the rudder, and most other items as well. If you are having trouble placing it, you may need to place the canopy first and then the rudder after. Its kind of finicky like that but yeah you can. :)
I have the worst fear of falling off my raft while the sail is up.
I hear ya! It's happened to me a few times, usually I'm able to swim and catch it tho. Mash that grab button!

That's awesome and I know what you mean! Its one of my favorites as well! The concept is great and the minimal aspect is super cool. There are a number of things I'd like to have seen added as well, buried treasure would be cool to be able to find with a shovel or something lol cheers :)
If I create a new island... That disable achievemen? (Sorry if I wrote bad, I dont speak english...)
No worries! No, custom islands does not affect achievements. You can use then! 😎

Thanks again my friend! Im glad you think so :) I deff plan to keep going so plan to keep watching!
@@Sharpie360 is this the same for online with friends as well?
Do multiple rutters help turn larger ships on multi-player assisted crafts
That's a really good question! I'm not sure, being how the sails work I'd think not but being that co-op is kind of a mess, it could work maybe. Next time I'm in a co-op session I'll have to try it out 😎
I think I'm about to buy this

Question for Sharpie: can one build a huge raft that support a base and storage instead of settling on a island ? Maybe this can be a vid ?
And even then, lol my glitch island 6 episode I dealt with all types of glitched out sharks so that's a thing too 🤣
Hey, what is the size limit for the raft in consoles?
Yeah unfortunately the raft size for console looks to be 5W x 4L. But I guess console storage chests have more inventory slots? That's what I'm seeing reported at least!
@@Sharpie360 true! I was trying to build some nice raft, but no luck with that limit. I would be interested to see a video of "the best 5W x 4L raft possible for console"!

Thanks for the tips. Now I understand why using the raft motor as a replacement for a rudder was a bad idea. xD
I'd like to share a new tip.
3x3 is my typical raft build. Sails through storms no problem.
Yeah a 3x3 is deff a solid choice!
How do you get so many resources
For these videos I dropped a custom island next to my main one and loaded it up with raft building resources, otherwise it would have taken way too long to gather all that up! You can add a ton of materials quickly that way.
am i crazy? how can i craft a lamp on a hook?? 😂 omg i was looking for it. or isnt it available on xbox?
No you're good. You should be able to make a light hook, which is more of a standing pole than a wall hook but it can be placed on different surfaces. The wall hooks are just for trophies but you may be able to rest the lantern on it. or shelfing works for this as well. I think they're in both console and pc versions!
You gotta craft and place the lighthook then you can attach the lantern! :)

Can the sharks flip the bigger rafts
I've only ever had that happen on a single section raft IIRC. But I'd say anything with 6 sections or more and you'll be okay. a 3x3 is your best bet. Anything bigger and the sharks just bonk their heads lol
why do i have to build on the same island if i want multiple raft
You don't have to go back to a single island, you can build or do whatever you want at any of the islands. I typically have a base island I always go back to.

You can try, but it will break.
