- I don't know why I did this, but I am glad I did because I went so fast that nothing could ever keep up.
Back with Raft after a few months because I thought of this one day and knew I had to try it and see what happens, I'm not upset about the outcome though.

Idea! Can you set up the engines in such a way that the raft just spins in circles faster and faster until the game breaks?
the engines don’t work that way in this game it would just sit still
@@stansmith2233 unfortunately you're right😑
@@stansmith2233 big brain devs tbh
The steering wheel can turn you super fast and it’s noticeable if you have a big line for a raft but it doesn’t have much game breaking potential
Just came to write the same thing
This is the type of thing that made me a fan of your style: chaotic changing of games to see if/how it can be broken.
Oh boy, you should watch Let's Game It Out. He's the epitome of everything you said.
@@hoshxhosh Thanks, I'll look it up. :)
@Hdidkeks Holy heck yeah. How he destroyed Raft was also baffling. Or maybe every game that he played especially Satisfactory lmao
@@nej2147 No biggie! I'm sure you'll be binge watching him lol
@@hoshxhosh You are not wrong, I've already started. :P
So we know that you can circle back around the ocean and get back to where you were. So what if you build a raft so long that it goes back into itself?
You're not technically circling back around. You're actually despairing the old and respawning it further forward. You will never be able to connect your raft going in one way because the world is generated around your raft, not the other way around.
@@dragex6582 but if the raft is as long as the world itself that becomes entirely irrelevant.
@@pyromaniac000000 Except tge world had no definitive end, so you couldn't make the raft as long as the world if you tried.
@@dragex6582 you can. Your theory only holds on a small scale. But you fail to understand, the world does not NEED to have an end. Eventually youll pass by the same exact island twice. It wraps back around to the same key islands and locations, and the game does not have multiple of those islands spawning in over and over, it has one set of islands. So you build the raft near one, eventually you WILL reach that island again. And since theres only one of each island, and only one raft, you will reach the other side of your raft. See, your theory hinges on going from exactly one “end” of the map to the other, but you fail to realize that isnt actually whats happening here. The ends of the map are entirely irrelevant, its the ends of your RAFT that matter.
@@pyromaniac000000 I do believe you to be incorrect on that point. I am confident that the ends of your raft matter not a lick. I am sure that what matters is a centerpoint on your raft, which is what everything spawns around. That said, I've never tested your theory, so I can't say with certainty that you're wrong.
Glad hes back into raft!
I would love a job fueling engines.
Hello first comment guy
Ahhhh help I put 301 engines on my raft
Can I hire you for my world then? You get paid in rocks and fun.
If only he can visit Stardew Valley
Just use biofuel 🤓
The reason your arms glitch out at high speeds is because of floating point precision (or lack there of). This will cause all sorts of cool visual effects, physics bugs, and most importantly, things like the Minecraft farlands. I suspect that raft has its own version of that
I imagine the raft is considered the center of the world, and everything's position is defined by it's relation to the raft. Get too far away, and you see those errors.
Similar thing when falling for a long time in Mario odessy
@@DrgnZip this is probably what happens, since islands unload if your raft gets too far away while you're on the island, shown on a Let's Game It Out video
oh. so, MC, Portal (2), Mario Odyssey, Raft, and Mario Maker all have the same glitch?
Once again, the Minecraft Farlands up to Beta 1.7 is *not* floating point imprecision, it's simply an integer overflow. Once you reach the 32-bit integer limit in the distance from spawn, the noise-map the game uses to generate terrain breaks down.
However, Minecraft *does* have an example of floating point imprecision in the case of world entities and Bedrock Edition has a particularly nasty one where it's possible for the gaps between blocks to be wide enough due to imprecision that you fall through the entire world and into the void.
he should put trash collectors on the front and see how fast they fill up while he’s going lightspeed
That's what i was thinking. Upvote so DF can see this
I think there is a limit on how much the trash collector can hold at once no? But it do be fun if there is way to increase the limit
Honestly? After a certain speed? Probably never. I'd imagine the trash just glitches past them.
Doesn't sutff bot spawn if you going to fast
I was thinking the exact same thing
I don't even need clocks anymore. DF uploads tell me everything I need to know about what time it is.
Df upload time is bed time
@@DarknessLPs pretty much! he uploads at 5am my time
@@marveludus for me it's exactly 00:00
Fr tho
It was 8:00 where I live.
The weird effect on the hands is a floating point error (position of the model's vertices getting rounded basically)
It probably only happens when you fall into the water because the origin is actually on the raft, not on the player or some arbitrary point in the world
If I remember correctly the effect your seeing around the 16:30 mark is when you position is such a high number the 3D models start to experience rounding errors messing up the animation.
Basically it's because these things use "floating point numbers" which is the computer's way of representing fractions, and they have a fixed length but the floating point itself moves, thus the name
So when the whole number part is huge, the decimals have less and less space, resulting in numbers going up at increasing intervals (0.01 -> 0.02 turns into 1->5->9 for example), and everything inbetween simply getting skipped, so the model starts turning into minecraft because the smaller details are skipped
@@soccpuppet4638 What about where models begin to look like they're wobbly jelly, getting more and more wriggly the further they manage to get? What causes that?
@@edward9487 My best guess without knowing the exact code behind the animation is that the hands are going wriggly because of the game taking the current speed and using it as the swimming speed for the hands, resulting in them flickering quickly
Similar effect can be seen with extreme speed potion effect and View Blobbing on in minecraft
@@edward9487 its the same problem as everything else
@@soccpuppet4638 everything else you said is correct, except the thing floating point is based on
It's not based on speed, it's based on distance from raft
So his hands going crazy means he is very far from the raft
I like how he falls off the raft at the end and his body starts quickly losing cohesion. XD
Imagine being one of the survivors on the island, you wake up and go outside to see the sunrise and for a split milisecond you see this monstrosity zoom past you and a few seconds later, thr loudest sound you ever heard and your eardrums instantly explodes and everything on the island is evaporated, reduced to atoms because of the wind force from the obect and even the atoms themselves endure such a hifh preassure that they split in halves and halves of that half until a cosmic explosion bigger than physics itself occurs and the universe as we know it implodes on itself creating a black hole so huge it sucks up the very fabric of reality itself and then you pass out
I pass out AFTER the universe implodes?!
@@vanc3794 Yes. Make sure to film the whole ordeal with your phone (vertically too, if possible). I'd like to see what it's like to by the very definition of the world, suddenly.. sort of, un-exist.
Yeah sure, It will take about 3-5 buisness centuries. See ya then
DF you should know you dont need to feed fuel you just get the better bio fuel generators you can pipe the fuel out from them you just need a ton of honey and shark heads and just have a ton of tanks? engine controls keybind is also depreciated with Engine Controls an actual engine control block also you probably can no longer throw llamas off the raft as this had been an on going issue where animals on your raft will just seemingly "teleport" and lose all your animals that you painstakingly caught legitimately if you want to throw animals off board use wild variants
another method is basically connect all the engines to a series of tanks and just refill that 1 tank until its full
*deprecated; depreciate means to lose value
@@ApocolypseChild could be obsolecent
I can use the heads to make fuel! well didn't realize that.
@@edwardtan1354 Obsolete, you can say Obsolete too.
i thought he said he can automate at the start of video
Df is the funniest because he grinds this long when he doesent need to just for a vid and I know he is using mods but he did some work but the only thing I miss is the stardew valley series and the minecraft dungeons series and those were the best
Me too :( I feel like he mostly plays mobile games and it makes me sad. I miss the other games. I'm glad he's more popular now, but I miss the old days lol
@@elianarichards are you talking about DF or gray?
If you like ridiculous grinds for the sake of a snippet of a RUclips video, check out Let's Game It Out as well
@@NothingRL I think they are talking about gray idk
@@MrGregsRnR I actually just started watching him too. He's a very DF type of person :)
Can you build a raft across the map that connects to itself, so it's across the planet
That might not quite be possible, but it could go as far as doing exactly that... without the game handling that part.
If he and lets game it out does a collab, it’s gonna be insane
Oh it will be
Definitely.
I love the chaotic nature of the video and then the calmer voice over. Just the chef's kiss
When you do things like this, you should add like a claw on the front with fishing nets, so you can see if it can collect materials when going at Mach 12.
Funny how your models start to break down after you travel so far :D
Gotta love the floating point.
1:33 "Pure biofuel made out of the most innocent of turtles." Lmaoo that one got me quick
Absolutely hilarious, and the crash sound edits made it even funnier
Just saying here: speed does not add at significant fractions of light, if df can circle an ever-repeating ocean in like under half a minute, without seeing the curvature of the planet, means that he is going , and so he must be approaching light speed, and so engines contribute less and less speed
Then again it's a video game about a floating raft in middle of an endless ocean so I doubt they coded the light speed limit
Why would we code that?
@@edward9487 you always gotta prepare for people like Josh of DF, also it just is part of a the universe. And it’s one shred of sanity in the midst of a PC-crashing insanity so…
I love how when you turn on the engine’s, they sound a bit like you just powered up a jet thruster
You know it’s going to be a good one when you start with “Oh no I lost control again!” 🤣
The little jumpscare at 12:33 actually got me lmao 10/10 best editing
Thanks df you always make my night or morning better
thanks for making my day and everyone’s else’s day better this makes my day
Ok well the obvious next step after discovering that the earth is round is to see if you can build a raft long enough to encircle the globe
It's not round, sorry.
@@dragex6582 The raft world is infinite, sadly
@@eggroll3055 Yes indeed.
I believe that DF's life is to go give a lot of calm videos at the cost of his own sanity
Love any videos you make, I’ll always watch your content :)
Every time I watch one of your videos It feels like a cure for literally any disease
The fact that DF kept extending one line instead of building several lines was painful. As usual xD
Oh thank god he actually made a second line.
The people I like to watch that breaks the limit of a game:
Let's Game it Out and DangerouslyFunny
DF becomes more and more like Lets Game it out each video
yeah....
Honestly if I had a computer I would definitely be there every day to help you with your shenanigans it would be the best thing ever
I stumbled upon this and was laughing out loud. Never played this game or watched the channel. Every time you crashed into an island was hilarious.
DF is like if Bob Ross was still alive and played modern video games instead of painting.
He is always so calm and never makes mistakes, just happy little accidents.
Gotta admire how inefficient the design of this raft his, yet manages to achieve its goals.
I feel like you and Josh from the channel Let's Game It Out would be good friends lol. A collab would destroy the universe (or more likely, the game)
you know DF is having a good time when he can drift on the raft.
With this lenght you'll need another superspeed raft to get from one side to another.
He has broken this game in so many ways now. It's like his biggest achievement in game breaking.
LLAMA CAM nice, just imagining what the Llama is thinking a lot of BEEPs about you 🤣
3:03 the Llama 😎
this was a fun video, nickname you the mad scientist of gaming
He returns to the madness! Or, at least the madness I first discovered DF doing.
Yaaay another raft episode!!
Its interesting to see how many games have a similar rendering system where if you get too far away from the center of the map your character starts glitching out and i guess the map center is the raft in this case
It's caused by floating point math being imprecise with ludicrously large numbers. Probably every modern game uses that since it's the default way to do math with fractions and is built right into the CPU.
"It might come back one day"
*as the raft circles the globe and collides with you within mere seconds
Me knowing the chaos is about to start 😂
Amazing videos btw
If you are circling the globe, does that mean that you can build in a single direction and eventually hit your own raft?
You should put collection nets on it to see how much you collect from a couple seconds of lightspeed
4:12 🤣🤣🤣, when he said something is going to break today, I burst out laughing when he said my brain. 🤣🤣🤣
Oh my God, imagine DF with Lets Game it Out, chaos would reign but it would be an amazing video
If the world loops, imagine building a raft the circumference of the world.
Woo!
This probably would have been a little easier to set up with a giant square raft, cutting holes where the engines need it.
If you really wanted to break every known law of physics, you could make a bunch of small rafts with a few engines each. The way the game renders placed parts makes it so that it always treats the raft as connected, even if the parts aren’t actually touching.
Man what I would do to work for you DF, you seem like such a good guy, the best kind of person to game with!!!
Hi hope everyone is doing great 👍🏻
i would absolutely fuel engines
4:07 ah, yes, casually drifting a raft like its nothing
always good when df posts
you should make a wide raft, put engines on each side going in opposite directions, and see how fast the raft can spin.
Engines don’t work that way in raft. It’ll just cancel out
Hello dangerously funny, I am an experienced engine fueler in raft and will work for clout
The llama cam was genius, excellent work, N8 👍
I love All the Sound Effects used When he crashes
Couldn’t you just connect all the engines to pipe and fuel them all at once?
For a stupid idea: is it possible to build a raft so big you can walk everywhere?
Whoever's reading this, i pray that whatever you're going through gets better and whatever you're struggling with or worrying about is going to be fine and that everyone has a fantastic day! Amen

Grass is a common term used to describe a group of plants that are characterized by their long, narrow leaves that grow from the base of the plant. Grasses belong to the family Poaceae, which includes over 10,000 species.
Grasses are important plants in many ecosystems, serving as food for grazing animals and as a source of shelter and nesting material for birds and other animals. They are also used by humans for a variety of purposes, including food (e.g. wheat, rice, corn), building materials (e.g. thatch), and as ornamental plants.
Grasses are typically herbaceous plants, meaning they do not have woody stems. However, some grasses, such as bamboo, can grow tall and woody. Grasses typically reproduce by seed and have long, fibrous root systems that help them to absorb water and nutrients from the soil.
Grasses are also important for their role in the carbon cycle. They take in carbon dioxide from the atmosphere through a process called photosynthesis, which helps to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Additionally, grasslands are an important carbon sink, storing large amounts of carbon in their soil.
Overall, grasses play an important role in many ecosystems and are a vital part of the natural world.
