Crafting the tool belt and pouches was a game changer for me. No one ever really talks about it but having my 4 most used tools on hand AND not taking up space in my inventory... totally worth it. Plus I drop less tools this way. Only downside is it's harder to check the durability of your tools.
I thought so too, at first but if you hold down the assign button (R1 on ps4) and quickly flick the dpad to the required tool, you can easily check the durability status super quick. You can even change tools on the fly this way.
Update: I have inhabited an island and killed the dangerous animals on it (hogs, boars, snakes, and giant crabs) and have made the main stations like the water still, plank station, campfire, loom (for cloth) and now im collecting logs to build walls and stuff around the island. Pretty big improvements
@Matthew Singer i remember in one of those tips and tricks videos something like that being mentioned but I brushed it off, after I explored an island and came back I was treated with a very nice surprise XD
I figured it out a few days ago that I could carry 6 boxes in my inventory and each box has 3 slots. When I travel to other islands for resources I carry my 6 boxes and my leather water pouch, a compass and a flashlight OR food ration. I numbered the boxes with a label maker so I know what's in in from the menu without dropping it and opening it. And in the 1st 2 boxes I put whatever I need to make a water still wherever I land so I'm not hurting for water while I'm there. Then set up a shelter to save. And I can stay on that island untill I take all it's resources or until my boxes are full.
If you are being chased by a giant boar, go into the water or over a rock and it won't reach you. Then you can attack it safely while it runs in circles in front of you.
I used the first raft you get to get to the other island , found cool stuff on a ship and got fucked by a boar and big crab. 2 hours before was my last save 😬
Make container shelves on or off your raft to hold three wooden containers each. You can also build bird snares pointing towards different islands and use the label maker to rename it to what island it's pointing at.
Piggybacking off of tip 20, don’t throw said coconut flasks away, they can store one serving of water. Just go up to your water still and a prompt comes up. This way you get double from the flask. Also empty coconut drinks can be smashed into food.
Knew eveything cept the container save trick and the back against ship to hunt sharks.....My tip if you call it a tip....further in game you'll eventually need to have a garden...at this point sleep everynight take 3 nights to harvest what you're growing.....also there are 3 meat sizes,small,medium and large...so when eating the size you can fill 1 2 3 hunger boxes...my personal tip get crafting lvl up asap to craft the sleeping bag...so new island camp set up is one step easier......great vid thx.....
Big tip... if your wanting to transport or move a lot at once, not only stack items as much as possible but use containers to carry multiple stacks. I do this when my island runs out of resources and I have to deplete other islands and carry it all back 😂 if your inventory is mainly boxes you can triple you carrying capacity.
@@brodylockwood14 You can place those storage containers on flat ground too if you just want on land storage; Doesn't need to be on a raft base. I have a couple on each island just to hold basic supplies.
I keep a flashlight on my tool belt at all times. It could help spot snakes, poison purple starfish, and fibrous leaves that tend to blend in with the surroundings. Obviously useful at night but also helpful at dawn and dusk when the water is dark. It also helps to spot rocks that blend into the bigger rocks. You can lean your yellow raft on your shelter and use it as shade from the sun. I saw someone also prop it up with a spear. Very helpful for the beginning/flat islands. All mountains have spots for shade. If you stumble across an item in high grass that was hard to see but your inventory is full, pick it up and throw it in the sand where you will not miss it the next time around. In a grassy area the tall grass only renders in when you are close. However, if you look more ahead of you, the tall grass does not appear yet. If you see any small palms or rocks and lose it as you get closer, just back up again. Point the backside of your shelter at your starting island. This is very helpful for the no compass playthrough. Plus, I didn't even know the 'cartographer' option in the main menu until I was 75% done with the game. You can also line up your sail and your rutter if you just arrive at a new island and haven't made a shelter yet. If you drink a coconut and put it into a pile, the coconuts get their water back. It's literally unlimited water, just use the 2 in 10 second rule.
A few more tips... 1. You can store x24 fiberous leaves in one inventory slot, and even in containers 2. Add storage container shelves to your raft, you can keep three wood containers on each set of shelves 3. If you come across many containers, use the axe to turn them into lashing and planks 4. Keep a container of coconuts and rations, you'll thank me later when you run out on the island you're on 5. Build multiple water stills, and when it rains, you get free water.
The Yucca plant also has a fruit you can harvest. That fruit can in turn be used to plant into a plot. If you fill the plot with water and then return to harvest the fibers after the water has become depleted, you should have about 48 fibers from one plot. I had 16 plots which have me far more fibers (768) than I'll need for accomplishing any tasks from then on
Most of you might already know you can craft raft base right where you find them. But I ran into an odd scenario where I have a tire outside of the ship wreck and one tire inside of the ship, but stuck at entry stairway. If you take the tire outside and hold it close enough to the tire inside of the ship and attempt to craft a raft base, you will succeed. This happens when there's a large shipwreck with two locations within the ship that has 2 @ 3 tires. Just thought I would share this very odd example.
If there is a Yucca plant growing in the bushes I will knock the fibrous leaves off the plant, pick up 2 of the leaves and then quick craft a lashing which uses the 4 leaves hiding in the bush. When mining clay I will sometimes drop a lantern or scrap metal on the bottom next to the formation so I can easily find the clay after surfacing for air or fighting a shark. This is especially helpful once the majority or all of the formation has been broken apart and it is hard to locate the pieces.
I find that keeping medical things in your raft storage helps a lot when you are island hopping and keeps the spaces in wooden crates used as inventory available for rarer items.

Just started playing, I've played games like this but never as good looking and realistic from an item standpoint. It's beautiful Kind of wish it had multi-player so you could run into your friends but its still a good game

That palm bunch and the container reroll are by far the best ones I have seen 😂 I got the game on ps plus and got the hang of the game very fast, im now on day 30 and is prepping to make a raft, the problem was that I wanted a motor and had no duct tape, so with that reroll your gonna save me hours ❤
I was wondering what to do with my 2 duct tapes lol. I'm was on day 19 and I haf just finished my raft but I didn't wanna look around for the stuff to build a motor lol. Turns out I had all the stuff already and was just being lazy 😆

When harvesting your natural yuccas for Seeds, look at the base of the stem where it connects to the main stem. Imagine there is a left and right side. From the right side this connection will guarantee an easy harvest instead of the annoying fidling from any other angle
Make a sleeping bag ASAP. You can save your game as soon as you land on a new island, without having to use resources building a shelter. (You can't save on your raft, as I previously said.)
Another helpful tip. To save durability on your ax, you need palm bunches. Cut down the tree, make a plank station. Cut palm trees down and drag to station and just process the the tree whole. You save durability on cutting trees up and cutting off the top. At first you won't be able to pick them up, if you save then go back into your game, you will be able to get them. If you need shade and don't have much resources, make foundation, 1 wall, and you can put a roof on that. To see where you are at, where the bosses are. Go to the Cartographer and you can see where the bosses are and what island you are currently on
An Extremely useful tip that i have found out by myself is : Go to your yellow raft and crouch in the middle of it and drop an item on it for example i brought a lashing and put it on the raft and pressed Right click to drag it then i hit the lashing with the side of the raft gently and face the direction im going to . The raft well go like crazy speed just like you have a boat with an engine ;) never need to use the paddle again
This works with rafts as well I have a crate shelf at the front of my raft and I use a barrel too pick up and push in to the shelf makes the raft go quicker then an engine lol
@@Dan-so4ye yes very gud tactic and recommand to put 4 shelfs to make the raft go anywhere u want and to be able to drag a shark ( big hide ) and not miss it with 1 the 1 shelf
On your personal island build a flag tower & take binoculars with you & you'll never get lost from home. Spears as markers, I drop a crab by south & a flare gun by my north spear.
Not sure if mentioned already but if you have a garden going you don't have to always harvest as soon as it's ready if you keep it watered and growing you can harvest more then one of the same item at a time from the same plant
Years ago when I played I always worried about the loose stuff despawning when reloading the game. That never happened. As a matter of fact: I think every loose item I left across every island stayed when I re-download this month, what did disappear was my massive harbors, and nearly every other structure except my tent beds. I had to make new water collectors, looms, and smokers, and a new raft. My raft didn't disappear though, it just spawned inside my home island, I could only see the masts. Also an alternative to tip 15: draw a physical map.
Idk if this tip works anywhere else but... Bonus tip: Get 5x coconut, Drop them on the ground and hit them with a spear to make 5x coconut drinks, Pick them up and place a PILE of 5x Coconut drinks. Take 4x coconut drinks from the pile leaving only a 1x pile of coconut drink. Using the 2-10 method drink the 4x coconut drinks. You now have 4x empty coconut drinks, Place them back on the 1x coconut drink pile and VIOLA! The 4x empty coconut drinks have been refilled. 2 buckets of water in a 4x4 hole.
Extra tip for tip #8: When you spot a submerged wreck at night, leave something that points towards it on the beach so you can find it again. I usually use 1 log palms with the log end pointing roughly out in the water where the wreck is at.
3:20 little correction, smoked meat does'nt spoil. the tip itself is useful but i left 4 gaint smoked meat in a container for two in game weeks and still did'nt spoil
Hello Broken_biologist hereI am not sure if anyone thought of this but I stumbled across a cool trick to stack sticks. I crafted 6-8 crude spears and threw 3-4 straight down in a row, walked over about meter/couple feet or so and three straight down the remaining spears. This makes a “box” for the sticks. I am able to keep the majority of the sticks confined to a small space. It takes four(4) fiber leaves to make a rope, and you can only stack four(4) ropes. Ah but did you remember that you can stack 24 fiber leaves allowing to maximize your storage. Thanks for the tip. Have great adventures everyone 👍
Why does some islands have certain large steel containers that when you try to open them, there is multiple doors & you just keep opening the doors forever & never get in?
This is hilarious, but i read there is a glitch where containers on ships respawn.. so you end up with several containers all stacked inside one another. So, every door you're opening is another entire container that has just added up over time... not sure what the spawn rate is, but it's issues like this that contribute to the lag / crashes this game is known for.
On console (not sure about PC) go to sail pole, hold down both top shoulder buttons. The raft will propel forward or any direction you are facing the sail.
Tip 14 was good about crate loot and save and don't look. I got 6 compasses from 2 crates. So thanks. So you bring it near the shelter and don't look and save and then look and if you don't find item, reload save. Will try it. And even the one searching items on ground.

I've stopped harvesting the young palms for fibrous leaves because it wears out my tools a lot more for the amount of fibrous leaves you get compared to yucca (6:1). They both grow back but rocks don't.
I would definitely keep getting the leaves, it is 6:1 but there are a lot more young palm trees than the 3 yucca on each island. You will more than double the amount each time you harvest, and the saplings grow back much faster than the yucca
The bigger the raft, that harder it is to control with a rudder. After a certain size it just gets easier to use sails in each direction and use those accordingly to navigate.
me personally instead of the spear method to find your way back i build a shelter as soon as i land and point it toward home. You can also use it to save just in case you get poisoned or killed while scavenging
Can we discuss Potatoes...If you find a single bunch on your island...firstly don't eat them. secondly don't pick them up until you have a farm plot to plant them or they will spoil. Once you are successfully farming potatoes. Then go for the fuel still. Potatoes turn to vodka, ie alcohol..then fuel for your outboard motor and potential gyrocopter (not that I have gotten that far. Have to say that raft is boss. Mine is a single length with barrels and it does have a tendency to capsize...not fun dragging to an island to flip over..but hey at least it doesnt sink. Cool vid. Thank you and good luck all.
all plants can be planted to grow it back.i think the tip for plants he should mention is if we find a plant and dont need to use them immediately,we should plant it so that we have guarantee that it will grow back.the normal ones that spawn randomly wont regrow or regrows a very long time.usually potato is what you should plant first
Pick all clothes, potatoes and yuccas every time. At start pick leathet, planks and raft materials (bois ext) until you build a big raft and 4 stone spears. Make enough shelf on the raft and now you are ready for everything. Find a New island, 4 spaers for pig or big crabs, you have clothes for water, food from pig or crab, pick every yuccas, make more spears and go on. Eventually you have enough stone spears for bosses.(spear gun is optional but you understand the idea) At the end you need only some clay for fuel (you would have enough potato) and fly away..
Hy everybody. If you loot islands and sail around you probably forget where you are. Have a bed with you, take it out, put it on the actual island and safe the game. Exit now and look at the cartograph - the red marked island is your current position ingame. If you want to build something big (like me 😉) then many things are important. But maybe most important is the starting point. Choose it wise and on low grounds. Because: you can't combine two different starting points to one. (Trust me: i tried and cried 😂) Same as you can't build from top to bottom (like stairs). Like in real life: first think - then do. If your boat gets too big then you can't handle it. 3x3 is the maximum size for your boatfloor. Also 2 or more sails in a row don't make you go faster. Don't forget to have a roof at your handling position. Because the sun can be very strong (and drinking sunblocker all the time is getting expensive). But if you get a sunburn (or even close to it) get in the shaddow (OMG really?! 🤔😂😂) or dive. Not in deep water (sharks...). Just get your hole body underneath the surface. Sorry for my bad english. Place a rudder on at least 2 ends of your raft. You can steer from both ends. Also steer from the end of the direction your moving. Your steering will be reversed but your raft won't obstruct your sight.
@@wookie6140 just hold the paddle (not in your hands) up against the opposite side of the raft (on the outside) look down a little and you should go faster than the motor does
Great video. I made a raft with 3 sails all in the same direction. It seems to go faster but I'm not really sure. Have you tried this. Btw love the sail for each direction definitely will try that
You can save yourself the trouble of dragging building materials around by bringing up the holographic image of the item and then walking with that to the location where you want to build.
I found that on console, when you use a coconut drink - you can add it to a pile and it becomes drinkable again. therefore allowing you to survive off of 1 coconut for the whole game.
U missed out the tip on the stone deposit when u don't have all the stones from one deposit.. If u go put the others stones away n go back to where u had the deposit u can craft stone tool so u have all 6 instead of only getting 4
Label maker = renaming "wooden crate" to things like Materials, Rations, Tools, etc. Makes all those crates you haul around easier to manage. If you haven't seen the label maker yet, re-roll (tip from video) a crate and enjoy.
I also like to use it to rename bird snares I have pointed at the different islands and name it the island they're pointing to. I never get lost and I never use a compass.
Not sure if it still works but if you leave food on a spit on fire it won't spoil. The fire doesn't need to be lit but it will still work if it is lit.
You can store 3 items in creates essentially giving you 3 items in each inventory slot I was able to store and transport triple the amount moving from island to island
When using multiple sails I put the forward and reverse sails to the right and left of the rudder so that I can reach both without having to leave the rudder. I’ve never tried the left and right sails but am going to try as soon as I can. I think that I can put them both within reach of the rudder position.
What I do is I have 4 sails, all located near the center of the raft, so I just lower the sails in the direction I wany to go. It sounds a little clunky, but its far more effective for steering a massive raft. My smaller raft I still run with just 1 mast, and a rudder, no anchor because thats my speedboat.
I came back to this game and finished it yesterday, loaded back in today to get last couple trophies and Ive noticed that my Raft and Gyrocopter have disappeared, plus I have crafted everything now and still have not got the trophy for it, been sleeping on my raft for 30 days and that one hasnt popped either. Really cant be asked to do it all again just to craft everything
I guess it’s not really a tip , more a bug in the game atm. But if you get 3 drinkable coconuts put them in a pile , pick up two drink them , then put the coconuts back in the pile . The coconuts will stay drinkable ! So infinite water source ! Great for starting off

I must be missing something then. I made the toolbelt yet the item I place in slot 1 still takes up inventory space.
Highlight the slot on the tool belt and then assign the tool. It won’t take up inventory space if it’s assigned to the tool belt.

You can place a hook on a flag pole on top of a tower. Hank a lantern and you'll create a light house.

Kind of wish it had multi-player so you could run into your friends but its still a good game
There is coop on pc. But they are working on porting to the consoles. I'd love this to be at least 2 player coop. Maybe even up to 4.
Green Hell and Raft are better games in my opinion. From a realistic view, especially Green Hell.

If making planks chop palm off drag the tree to plank station and make planks u don’t have chop the tree down in to sections. Maybe know but I just worked it out..

Hey you guys big tip lanterns work underwater you can place them near or on top of crown of thorns starfish to make you where they are at night time so you don’t mistakenly hit one

I got the game on ps plus and got the hang of the game very fast, im now on day 30 and is prepping to make a raft, the problem was that I wanted a motor and had no duct tape, so with that reroll your gonna save me hours ❤
I was wondering what to do with my 2 duct tapes lol. I'm was on day 19 and I haf just finished my raft but I didn't wanna look around for the stuff to build a motor lol. Turns out I had all the stuff already and was just being lazy 😆
The is duct tape in the starter raft the is a storage part on there

When harvesting your natural yuccas for Seeds, look at the base of the stem where it connects to the main stem. Imagine there is a left and right side. From the right side this connection will guarantee an easy harvest instead of the annoying fidling from any other angle
Make a sleeping bag ASAP. You can save your game as soon as you land on a new island, without having to use resources building a shelter. (You can't save on your raft, as I previously said.)
Another helpful tip.
To save durability on your ax, you need palm bunches. Cut down the tree, make a plank station. Cut palm trees down and drag to station and just process the the tree whole. You save durability on cutting trees up and cutting off the top. At first you won't be able to pick them up, if you save then go back into your game, you will be able to get them.
If you need shade and don't have much resources, make foundation, 1 wall, and you can put a roof on that.
To see where you are at, where the bosses are.
Go to the Cartographer and you can see where the bosses are and what island you are currently on
An Extremely useful tip that i have found out by myself is :
Go to your yellow raft and crouch in the middle of it and drop an item on it for example i brought a lashing and put it on the raft and pressed Right click to drag it then i hit the lashing with the side of the raft gently and face the direction im going to . The raft well go like crazy speed just like you have a boat with an engine ;) never need to use the paddle again
This works with rafts as well I have a crate shelf at the front of my raft and I use a barrel too pick up and push in to the shelf makes the raft go quicker then an engine lol
@@Dan-so4ye yes very gud tactic and recommand to put 4 shelfs to make the raft go anywhere u want and to be able to drag a shark ( big hide ) and not miss it with 1 the 1 shelf
And the 4 shelfs well allow you to take off and fly so u stand on the back shelf and push the front can be faster than plen lol
On your personal island build a flag tower & take binoculars with you & you'll never get lost from home. Spears as markers, I drop a crab by south & a flare gun by my north spear.
Correct if I'm doing this incorrectly, but im using the island with the big storage container as my marker for my home base but I'm 3 days in
You can also put up bird snares pointing towards the different islands around the one you're on and if you have a label maker just rename the snares

Not sure if mentioned already but if you have a garden going you don't have to always harvest as soon as it's ready if you keep it watered and growing you can harvest more then one of the same item at a time from the same plant

Years ago when I played I always worried about the loose stuff despawning when reloading the game. That never happened. As a matter of fact: I think every loose item I left across every island stayed when I re-download this month, what did disappear was my massive harbors, and nearly every other structure except my tent beds. I had to make new water collectors, looms, and smokers, and a new raft. My raft didn't disappear though, it just spawned inside my home island, I could only see the masts.
Also an alternative to tip 15: draw a physical map.
“Hug the ground so the shark can’t get you” *shark glitches through the ground and kills you* 😂😂
Refill water jugs etc during storm
Storm will refill water still and not use leaves
Idk if this tip works anywhere else but...
Bonus tip:
Get 5x coconut,
Drop them on the ground and hit them with a spear to make 5x coconut drinks,
Pick them up and place a PILE of 5x
Coconut drinks.
Take 4x coconut drinks from the pile leaving only a 1x pile of coconut drink.
Using the 2-10 method drink the 4x coconut drinks.
You now have 4x empty coconut drinks,
Place them back on the 1x coconut drink pile and VIOLA! The 4x empty coconut drinks have been refilled.
2 buckets of water in a 4x4 hole.

Extra tip for tip #8: When you spot a submerged wreck at night, leave something that points towards it on the beach so you can find it again. I usually use 1 log palms with the log end pointing roughly out in the water where the wreck is at.

Hello Broken_biologist hereI am not sure if anyone thought of this but I stumbled across a cool trick to stack sticks. I crafted 6-8 crude spears and threw 3-4 straight down in a row, walked over about meter/couple feet or so and three straight down the remaining spears. This makes a “box” for the sticks. I am able to keep the majority of the sticks confined to a small space.
It takes four(4) fiber leaves to make a rope, and you can only stack four(4) ropes. Ah but did you remember that you can stack 24 fiber leaves allowing to maximize your storage.

Why does some islands have certain large steel containers that when you try to open them,
there is multiple doors & you just keep opening the doors forever & never get in?
This is hilarious, but i read there is a glitch where containers on ships respawn.. so you end up with several containers all stacked inside one another. So, every door you're opening is another entire container that has just added up over time... not sure what the spawn rate is, but it's issues like this that contribute to the lag / crashes this game is known for.
On console (not sure about PC) go to sail pole, hold down both top shoulder buttons. The raft will propel forward or any direction you are facing the sail.
Tip 14 was good about crate loot and save and don't look. I got 6 compasses from 2 crates. So thanks.
So you bring it near the shelter and don't look and save and then look and if you don't find item, reload save.
Will try it. And even the one searching items on ground.

I've stopped harvesting the young palms for fibrous leaves because it wears out my tools a lot more for the amount of fibrous leaves you get compared to yucca (6:1). They both grow back but rocks don't.
If rocks grows back in this game am done... 😆🤣
I would definitely keep getting the leaves, it is 6:1 but there are a lot more young palm trees than the 3 yucca on each island. You will more than double the amount each time you harvest, and the saplings grow back much faster than the yucca
And with plank station trick you don't lose your rocks anymore ;)

Instead of building 4 seals, you could also build 1 rudder and turn your ship.
The bigger the raft, that harder it is to control with a rudder. After a certain size it just gets easier to use sails in each direction and use those accordingly to navigate.
me personally instead of the spear method to find your way back i build a shelter as soon as i land and point it toward home. You can also use it to save just in case you get poisoned or killed while scavenging
Can we discuss Potatoes...If you find a single bunch on your island...firstly don't eat them. secondly don't pick them up until you have a farm plot to plant them or they will spoil. Once you are successfully farming potatoes. Then go for the fuel still. Potatoes turn to vodka, ie alcohol..then fuel for your outboard motor and potential gyrocopter (not that I have gotten that far. Have to say that raft is boss. Mine is a single length with barrels and it does have a tendency to capsize...not fun dragging to an island to flip over..but hey at least it doesnt sink. Cool vid. Thank you and good luck all.

Hey I have a tip pipi plants make sure you always replant them because they will grow back
all plants can be planted to grow it back.i think the tip for plants he should mention is if we find a plant and dont need to use them immediately,we should plant it so that we have guarantee that it will grow back.the normal ones that spawn randomly wont regrow or regrows a very long time.usually potato is what you should plant first

First off, great video! I love learning about this game and I did so by watching this video.
Pick all clothes, potatoes and yuccas every time. At start pick leathet, planks and raft materials (bois ext) until you build a big raft and 4 stone spears. Make enough shelf on the raft and now you are ready for everything. Find a New island, 4 spaers for pig or big crabs, you have clothes for water, food from pig or crab, pick every yuccas, make more spears and go on. Eventually you have enough stone spears for bosses.(spear gun is optional but you understand the idea) At the end you need only some clay for fuel (you would have enough potato) and fly away..

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this tip but when your crude axe is at around 1 percent just make a refined axe right before it breaks
Hy everybody.
If you loot islands and sail around you probably forget where you are. Have a bed with you, take it out, put it on the actual island and safe the game. Exit now and look at the cartograph - the red marked island is your current position ingame.
If you want to build something big (like me 😉) then many things are important. But maybe most important is the starting point. Choose it wise and on low grounds. Because: you can't combine two different starting points to one. (Trust me: i tried and cried 😂) Same as you can't build from top to bottom (like stairs).
Like in real life: first think - then do.
If your boat gets too big then you can't handle it. 3x3 is the maximum size for your boatfloor. Also 2 or more sails in a row don't make you go faster. Don't forget to have a roof at your handling position. Because the sun can be very strong (and drinking sunblocker all the time is getting expensive). But if you get a sunburn (or even close to it) get in the shaddow (OMG really?! 🤔😂😂) or dive. Not in deep water (sharks...). Just get your hole body underneath the surface.

Place a rudder on at least 2 ends of your raft. You can steer from both ends. Also steer from the end of the direction your moving. Your steering will be reversed but your raft won't obstruct your sight.
Personally I place a sail facing both directions. I drive backwards because it’s easier to steer a large raft in reverse
You can carry wood crates in your back pack. Each crate has 5 slots; holding a crate in all 11 back pack slots gives you 55 item slots on your person.
You can use the paddle on the life raft to launch your raft forward by holding the paddle and moving back just don’t flip the raft
That's good because even after over 300 hrs in this game me and that rubber life rsft do NOT get along

Great video. I made a raft with 3 sails all in the same direction. It seems to go faster but I'm not really sure. Have you tried this. Btw love the sail for each direction definitely will try that

I build a hut (save/sleep) on every island and point it towards the home (base)island or the island I came from.
You can save yourself the trouble of dragging building materials around by bringing up the holographic image of the item and then walking with that to the location where you want to build.
A lot of great tips here 👍 even after playing over 150hrs I learned some new stuff

I found that on console, when you use a coconut drink - you can add it to a pile and it becomes drinkable again. therefore allowing you to survive off of 1 coconut for the whole game.

when it thunder storms quickly run over to ur water stills and drink 2 slots from each, the storm should give u 2-3 water charges per still.
That spear mark idea for island is genius
U missed out the tip on the stone deposit when u don't have all the stones from one deposit.. If u go put the others stones away n go back to where u had the deposit u can craft stone tool so u have all 6 instead of only getting 4
Label maker = renaming "wooden crate" to things like Materials, Rations, Tools, etc. Makes all those crates you haul around easier to manage.
If you haven't seen the label maker yet, re-roll (tip from video) a crate and enjoy.
I also like to use it to rename bird snares I have pointed at the different islands and name it the island they're pointing to. I never get lost and I never use a compass.
If you kill crabs those big ones always attack from the back makes it easy to kill them than upfront
Not sure if it still works but if you leave food on a spit on fire it won't spoil. The fire doesn't need to be lit but it will still work if it is lit.
You can store 3 items in creates essentially giving you 3 items in each inventory slot I was able to store and transport triple the amount moving from island to island

When using multiple sails I put the forward and reverse sails to the right and left of the rudder so that I can reach both without having to leave the rudder. I’ve never tried the left and right sails but am going to try as soon as I can. I think that I can put them both within reach of the rudder position.
What I do is I have 4 sails, all located near the center of the raft, so I just lower the sails in the direction I wany to go. It sounds a little clunky, but its far more effective for steering a massive raft. My smaller raft I still run with just 1 mast, and a rudder, no anchor because thats my speedboat.
I came back to this game and finished it yesterday, loaded back in today to get last couple trophies and Ive noticed that my Raft and Gyrocopter have disappeared, plus I have crafted everything now and still have not got the trophy for it, been sleeping on my raft for 30 days and that one hasnt popped either. Really cant be asked to do it all again just to craft everything
Tip 21 have containers in every slot,, it triples your inventory

I guess it’s not really a tip , more a bug in the game atm. But if you get 3 drinkable coconuts put them in a pile , pick up two drink them , then put the coconuts back in the pile . The coconuts will stay drinkable ! So infinite water source ! Great for starting off
