Spot on review. I've owned the stampeded in the past haven't owned the others 3 you mentioned but in the market for a basher as I have 2 track vehicles (tekno sct410, X-ray x8be) Looking at getting the Kraton 4s, and granite blx. had the 6s outcast but sold it do unavailable parts at my LHS and didnt want to keep replacing bent metal parts all the time. 😉....Great, honest, unbiassed review Razor! ✌️🤙💪😎
Got the Team Associated MT10 and its a very high quality basher! Amazing truck so far - super fast ripping with a 3S battery , it will back flip it self from flat ground standing start with the 3S battery, very rugged so far.
I currently have the Helion Avenge, and just purchased the Rival Mt 10, and I really like the both of these trucks very well. Just sold my old Stampede 4x4 to purchase the Rival with no regrets, I believe they are a much better platform then the Stampede now. Looking now at your suggestion to maybe add a Granite now to my collection, thanks for the review.
I’ve only owned the Granite of the four and still loving it. I originally bought the Mega version and grabbed the BLX version when it was offered. Great value IMO. Recently Arrma is having issues with their electronics, so buyer beware. Might want to hold off on buying one until they get these issues sorted. Horizon stands behind their products, but today they are out of stock on many replacement parts due to the COVID pandemic.
So this is the first I have heard of Arrma having problems with the electronics and I was about to pick up a Granite BLX.. What's the problem causing??
Stinks because I really am ready to order this..Wonder when that problem started and if there are some older new units out there that we can find to purchase..
Warranty department.. no we cant replace your servo with the ones we are selling.. there's and extra $1.50 in plastic horns with those.. you have to wait till at least the end of May when we have bare ones available.. SMH
Part 2 so I brought the arrma granite. The best rc truck I ever owned and so much fun . I got the truck , charger , and premium 3s 5200 50c battery for $350 . How can you go wrong? I can tell you the granite tough. I hit a light pole at 40 mph head on because some fans were approaching me from behind and I took my eyes off it . I only crack the front bumper spring, now that freakin tough!
What else did you have get besides the arms dont mind me askn i bought the 17mm hubs from jennys , i was going convert to 4s while using stock axels i didn't realize id have change all the parts and better to get the hr parts
I love Arrma products. I'm thinking of getting my 5 yr old the Granite 3s but running it on 2s & 50% throttle for him. He's driven other RCs before and I think this could be slowed down enough for him and quick enough for me
Out of the 4 I only own Arrma Granite Mega 4x4 and I’ve been having a blast bashing it to shit. Pretty easy to work on. I’ve swapped out the monitor with a brushless and a couple of other of the drive train parts. It’s been great so far for a beginner like myself. Was always curious how other brands compared. IF the Rival ever goes in sale I will pick that one up for sure. Thanks for the info and great vid as usual!
Great comparison! I own a stampede 4x4 and the granite 4x4 and I feel the same. Out the box I like like the steering of the stampede better, but the granite wins in performance and electronics. And after I got the hr ball set and steering bellcrank that removed most of the slop. So much that I'm selling my stampede 😁
I've had the Granite 4x4 BLX since they first dropped and the only thing I've had to replace was the shocks, they were leaking out of the box,Tower sent me the rebuild kit,so I rebuilt them but still went ahead and got some aluminum shocks from Ebay and it's been a tank ever since. I did have to replace the wheels/tires and body, but that was just from normal bashing wear and tear. It's definitely the best 1/10 MT on the market atm.
I made the mistake of not considering the parts/customer support issue many years ago. Too easy to get caught up in looking only at performance, but when your RC breaks, and it will, you'll thank yourself for taking the time to look at those other variables.
I was toying with the idea of a Granite - Then I caught wind of the Rival MT10 being released "soon". Team Associated fan from the late 80's early 90,s - every Friday and Saturday night spent at the local track racing! Glad I waited and picked this truck up! (Actually the night it released my finger found that "purchase" button- LOL) Nice run down on the various manufacturers !
I have an opinion from the point of view of someone trying to buy their first hobby grade RC. The closest hobby shop to me is at least 80 miles away so buying online is the best option for me, and I've looked at Redcat, Arrma, Losi, Amazon, Traxxas and a few others. And right now Traxxas is the only one I'm going to even consider buying because I can actually buy everything I need from them. Your video had me convinced to buy the Arrma truck and I went to their website and found the 4x4 and it says Ready to Run...but I don't consider something RTR if it doesn't have a battery. And the other ones do the same BS, but I can't even find a battery on Arrma's site. I shouldn't have to go to another site or search high and low for a battery for the truck. And a charger too. On the other hand, the Traxxas site sells batteries and chargers, and some of the trucks even come with them... which is actually RTR. I just don't understand why they wouldn't have the proper battery for the truck right there on the same page for purchase. And the fact that they don't have any at all...they've basically lost a sale. Something so basic. That would be like if McDonald's sold hamburgers but you had to go somewhere else to find a bun... and somehow buns are hard to find and McDonald's didn't even tell you where to get one. It basically automatically makes me go buy the Traxxas because I can buy the batteries and chargers and there's even a simple link that will take you to compatible batteries for the truck.
I have the granite blx 4x4. I think the biggest problem is the wheelie bar. That breaks all the time. I've also had the motor bearings break apart pretty quickly. The shocks leak fairly quickly. I've also been having a issue snapping the steering blocks. It is a very fast truck but I have more fun with my tenacity TT pro. You can put more power down on 3s because of the longer wheelbase.
Great review. I appreciate your opinion on the line up. I'm not sure why there is so much hate on Traxxas. They are a great American made company that takes care of there customers, which says a lot right there. Yes they have some weaker models and parts in some areas but so do all makes. Look at the Xmaxx it's been out for 5 years on the same platform and it is super durable. You see the arrmas with the weak aluminum frames and towers need to be upgraded, new transmitter and new servos to be durable, which ends up costing a lot too. No hate on them but they have issues too. I say drive what you like and just have fun and bash your RCs not others and there opinions
Traxxas has the ability to make some good vehicles, but they need to refresh their 1/10 lineup, their 2wd stuff has been the same for 20 years, their 4wd stuff has been the same for 10 years. The Maxx and XMaxx vehicles are very good and shows what Traxxas is capable of. BTW, they're designed in the U.S., but made in Taiwan. Anyway, you bring up some good points, thanks for posting.
@@RazorRC Yes I totally agree, and your review was right on. It's mostly the comments on all the RC you tube channels have bs Traxxas haters. They have made a lot of great RCs including the Tmaxxs, which I have a couple and are still a blast to drive. But they do need to update some models now and listen to the customers to make more great ones and keep the friendly competition going strong between makers and driver's a like. Stay safe and take care
@@charliemiller9854 I have 2 Traxxas trucks but I understand why there are Traxxas haters because they have gone complacent and stale in their design or innovation resting their laurels on the X-maxx, Maxx and TRX-4 while other brands slowly catching up. No new Slash or Stampede platform. I'm not a fanboy either but they do make great quality RC and IMO the greatest or best created Traxxas of all time is the Summit. Revolutionary tech that translated to the TRX-4. Not as powerful or bash worthy as the x-maxx but the summit can still hang in with it and can climb better that being a crawler as well. Btw I think the Summit too is a better crawler than the TRX-4 I've run it up very steep and slippery hill while the TRX-4 could barely get up on it. What's my point? Well I own both Summit and TRX-4 and I enjoy them both in their own unique ways. I also have a Vaterra Rallycross with optional Slash tires and a Vaterra Raptor body. I enjoy these 3 different types of RCs I'm thinking of getting the Arrma Granite Blx I've seen so many videos of it it's fantastic. Good to have other RC brands to choose from if Traxxas doesn't have what I want.
update , i now own a 6s Kraton , and i must say i thought the granite was awesome . the kraton 6s make the granite feel like a toy. the granite is great for the price , dont get me wrong. but for what you get in the kraton 6s it is truly a bargain . in get metal shock with shaft covers. metal driveshaft , metal dogbone and turnbuckle. also sway bars. metal tower to tower brace and etc. my kraton flys straight as a arrow. the kraton 6s is the best rc i have own , and the best for the money . the traxxas maxx is a 4s 1/10 scale , and cost more.?
Arrma Granite is for sure the BEST! I own one and I own a Kraton V3 and I love driving the Granite way better and friends can also drive it with ease for sure the best. Change out remote and call it a day. I put the Dumbo remote with gyro in mine and that sucker flies like the wind.
Excellent comparison! Never owned the Granite but I got to agree with you on it being the top performer OTB base on my experience with the other Arrma 4x4's.
One BEST rc i have owned , i used it so much that pretty much every parts been changed at least once except the chassis , only due to wear tear from using daily
I have had the granite for about 4 months and havent replaced a single thing. Crazy durable and fast. The granite is far better value then the other 3 imo
Alex_ Padilla_ bearings are not rubber sealed, so they fail quick in wet or dirty conditions. Tires are prone to tears. Shocks leak. Plastic pivot balls wear quick too. In my experience with the similar Senton.
The Granite is good, but it's cheap for a reason. No sealed bearings, plastic diff ring gears, plastic center driveshaft, shock issues etc. Plus it has one of the absolute cheapest radio systems available which many seem to complain about. As for the AE, it's almost a Stampede 4x4 China knockoff. There are numerous vids on yt of it and its older variant breaking when it's practically brand new. Interesting that it rated so well in this vid. The Losi was a great deal at $250 though. Stampede should have been higher imo. It's a bit more expensive. But if everything included with it is actually factored in, it's not a bad deal.
Your review on the Granite was what partially made up my mind about whether to get one or not. Absolutely outstanding truck! Definitely agree. It deserves first place. Durability. handling. ease of maintenance. It has it all!! Amazing video! Definitely look forward to more videos soon!! 👍👊😎
Granite just continues to be one of those trucks that will be around forever but it’s odd that aftermarket won’t supply more options. Maybe it’s too durable??
Thanks for putting this together and great timing as well. I like the looks of the Rival but I just got back into RC last fall and I need a strong basher like the Granite so thats what I'm going for. I will keep the Rival on the list for another day, especially if RPM puts out some a-arms.
Nice review! With upgrades, the Traxxas Stampede can be made incredibly fast and durable. To keep costs low, you can start with a roller chassis from eBay or buy the XL5 for $300 and upgrade it over time. The wide availability of parts and upgrades over many years make it a top choice for someone who doesn't want to be stuck with a discontinued RC truck with low parts availability.
I ordered a Arrma Granite Blx last night, I can't wait! I was originally going to get the stampede 4x4 but a bunch of people talked me out of it. I hope to convert it to 4s
You don't need to make it 4s ..trust me 3 s stock is enough .. I have a couple arrmas and this granite is damn awesome. I run mine in 5000 mAh spectrum 3 s batteries
Hey great video as always. A few months ago I asked about what to get on a forum and you were actually the one that guided me towards the granite. Ive been bashing it since I got it and only had the usual problems that come from excessive abuse. I do have to disagree on your negatives about it though. They are so similar to other Arrma cars that its actually rather easy to modify it a bit. I for example changed over to the LCG chassis from the senton and higher side guards from a different model I cant quite remember, as well as some other minor modifications. Either way great comparison and video as always. Keep it up!
@@rcplayer7581 Surprisingly you actually don't even have to change the drive shaft since even those are the same. The only thing you need is the bearing part that sits in the middle of the chassis. In fact most parts between the senton and granite are the same as far as I remember. I might be forgetting something though so if you're interested in it I would suggest you look at the exploded views of different arrma models. I believe that would be the best way to see how similar they are and what parts might fit what. Edit: You were in fact right I did have to change the drive shaft too. I just checked to make sure and I did have to order that too. All though if you're planning on buying it you need to watch out a bit since they do have the same model number with just two different lengths. Other things I bought are the battery holder, skit plates, body mounts (for a senton body that I cut to fit the bigger wheels) and some other smaller parts. Like I said if you're really interested in doing it yourself I would suggest you to check the exploded views.
the center driveshaft has the same part number, but when you buy the part it has two different pieces, one is longer than the other for the longer Senton chassis.
Great video. I'm looking at buying my first real rc rig, and was leaning towards the arrma, but now I'm considering the helion/team assoc truck. More tinkering possibilities, but also a tough platform it looks like?? Better radio than the arrma? Thanks
Complain about all the plastic on the Stampede but not the Granite? Also the blx motors are known for motor bearing failures and the holes in the chassis let rocks and dirt into it damaging the propshaft and slipper. I was very tempted to go Granite but have ended up with the Stampede builders kit. Will throw in a castle copperhead 3200kv combo. Yes I will have to upgrade the driveline but there is just so so many option/upgrade parts for it. If there were betted parts for Arrma I would have gone that route
Had a granite blx for three months and it’s taken a absolute beating yet still no breakage.....only thing I would change in the future is the radio and that’s horizons fault for putting a cheap radio with a badass truck.....
Great video, I have an Arrma Typhon 3s blx, Outcast 6s, and a Talion 6s, and one Losi DB and one time a Traxas Rustler. Overall, of all the brands I've mentioned I think Arrma has the best RC cars for the price and the value. As far as their radios, they suck but the vechicles themselves are really good. My favorite is the Typhon so far.
I'm old skool & still drive my stampede & rustler 2wd lol them trucks are all VERY nice 👍👍 whatever makes u smile 😁 is what u should drive! There is a lot going on inside these cars i have most the parts on ✋ that's why i stick with Traxxas + i love that 3500kv vellineon VXL3S ESC I've beat the crap out of mine & I'm impressed at the reliability of them parts lol
Im thinking about getting a team associated mt10 originally was thinking about getting an arrma but the shocks leak and the radio is slow and so are the servos apart from the arms for me the mt10 looks more reliable
It's a great truck! I've only had it a week, but yeah..a super nicely built and balanced 1/10th mt. I do not like the esc on the rival..so a hobbywing max10 is its replacement. I am not a arrma fan..almost everyone I know has servo, shock and transmitter issues.. I do love my stampedes, but I would choose the rival over the arrma.
joe murphy Spend 25$ on a 4 channel DumboRc with the 6 channel receiver and problem solved. Or go up a little and get a Flysky gt5 or Radiolink rc6gs or the original Tacctical ttx300 or even a Futaba 3prka
So, in a top 4, you put something you built - because it doesn’t currently exist, or cannot be bought, and a rebrand above number 4? I’m not a tea as fanboy by any means, but just looking at the process here that seems abit imbalanced?
I got the stampede but it really breaks a lot, I only got to play with it only few days and then none the whole year, also a lot of fixing, so i might get the arrma granite voltage that costs 100 dollars, best hope is that I don’t have to fix it a lot, thanks for the review it really helped me :).
cory f zeee 5200 mA 3S I also have a couple of ovonic 5200 mA 3S batteries as well I have multiple brands of 2S batteries ranging from 5000 to 7000 mA and all of those fit as long as the battery pack is it super long you should be able to run almost any two or 3S pack. The Velcro straps are pretty long and works pretty good If you’re going to run 3S on one of the big rock trucks I would probably try to get something a little higher in the amp range as my 5200 packs only last about 15 minutes but I’m running them pretty hard but that’s about average for a truck like that that’s why I use cheap Lipo’s but they are still good quality that way I can get a lot of them I have a review on those batteries on my channel
cory f yeah you should be good with that you’ll probably get 12 to 15 minutes of run time on that battery after I got this truck definitely ordered a couple more and I just picked up a kraton 6s so I ordered a few extra batteries and I could use them in Both trucks so that definitely helps
Large Scale Life haha right on. I’ve decided I’m gonna buy a typhon 6s this weekend. Just picked up two more 3s packs to run 6s when I get it. Rc’s the only thing keepin me sane right now I can only watch so many shows and movies lol
I've had many Traxxas vehicles starting with the original Sledgehammer, Stampede, an the Blue Eagle Pro...but the one vehicle I have in my stable that I'll never rid of, have had nearly next to nothing wrong with, an have bashed the crap out of an nearly perfect in my eyes is my Tekno MT410.
Great list, I bought my granite in the beginning of this year. If I were to do it again I would. the new v2 has a better radio and new o rings to stop leaky shocks.
I still have plastic driveshafts on my stampede with a 100a esc and 2200kv motor running 4s 25/50 gearing. I think its all abt how you drive it. I dont mash throttle 0-100 24/7.
I only own the Granite out of these, but I can attest to its durability. I used to buy Traxxas vehicles, but have switched over to Arrma, and the durability seems better (Now own Typhon 3s and Granite 3s). I think Traxxas would give you stability control on their MT where the Arrma does not though, and that is a feature I would like to have. This could be resolved with a new radio system, but that is more money you're spening which takes away from the value. Overall, I am happy with my purchase, and would encourage others to buy one as well.
Nathan Storer Tsm or Avc or gyros, are only needed for 2wd or speed runs over 60mph. The Granite is a basher 4wd. It has no need whatsoever for the stability management. Everyone I know who runs a 4wd or a basher either turns off or completely gets rid of the stability control. But for 25$ you can buy the 4 channel version of the DumboRc radio with the 6 channel gyro receiver and still be 55$ cheaper than a Stampede
Same here.. I have at least 25 ground vehicles.. the stampede takes a whoopin!! It is my favorite 1/10th mt, have the rival as well and it is a very good truck..minus esc :( The dhk crosse bl is a absolute beast btw..built like a tank and also $299
Agree completely that the granite is as durable as you say. It’s very hard to break anything. The only issue I’ve had is the shocks leak but after some Tamiya orings they are leak proof now.
The Tamiya orings are silicone and slightly bigger. They just seal better. I saw the fix here on RUclips and it really worked for me. TAM50597 is the part number.
I have an Arrma Granite Mega 4x4. When i first joined the hobby about 4 months ago I had my eyes on th Traxxas Stampede and Rustler but the guy at my LHS recommended Arrma. So i ran with it and dont have any regrets. I burnt my motor out and now in the process of upgrading to brushless. Arrma or die
I love my rival mt10 it’s a awesome truck but the down side about it is that the radio is complete and total garbage I replaced it couple weeks after I bought it. But it’s very fast durable and really fun for the price.
I always liked the vaterra halix which I guess is owned by losi. I don’t know why they stop making the truck. It was very similar to the stampede. The stampede always has a special place in my heart LOL. Still like that truck lol. I think overall if you want to do more bashing you go to the 1/8 scale.......I heard the redcat mt10e is pretty badass also
Nice review but I think you missed the big rock crew cab off the list which is a much more stable truck than the granite. All the Arrma 3s are seriously value for money great fun
Nice review but I have a question. I own the stampede 4x4 very heavily modified, granite blx modified to the 4s, did the same with the tenacity as you did but now in the market for that rival. The question is the rival has the same geometry, same style plastics all around as the stampede 4x4. I pulled the Manual on the rival and the parts build is identical to the stampede almost a copy of the stampede. I see the stampede is in 4th and the rival is in second. If these are identical trucks how is that rival better? All I can see is that it has a center diff so that’s a plus.
the rival is pretty much a 2.0 of the stampede, they just improved on everything. bigger 13mm shocks with threaded adjusters, sway bars, wheelie bar that doesn't fall down, center diff, better machining on the diffs, more durable body, dogbone steel center driveshaft, adjustable body posts, much better tires, , better handling and durability. also has lights and a dust cover, but I don't use those.
Razor RC thank you for the perfect explanation. At this point I already corrected that on the stampede as I modified it it all 1/8 components except for a center diff I have the revo slipper, but that rival out of the box is the better buy I see that now. Thanks again.
I have a granite for a year and half now and I bought it because I heard so many reviews about it but maybe I was unlucky with mine the servo gave up the esc gone wrong I have the strangest break I broke the top colar on the body of front shock... But in general I liked your review of comparing the four trucks. Greatings from Portugal.
ATM i prefer the Asso MT10. Cause the Main issue (A-Arms) is easy to fix with RPM ones and it has a Middlediff. The granite is more expensive and the Slipper and Motormount fix is way more expensive to fix. In Germany the Granite cost 80-90 Euro more.
@@RazorRC there is also the PR Racing SB401-RT you can get through NemoRacingUSA.COM, THERCPROSHOP.COM, VENDETTAHOBBIES.COM and FIERCERCSOLUTIONS.COM. Check it out it's a great truggy!
I don't know, but my guess is they will replace it with the STX3 which is supposed to come out on its own in May. But word on the street is that it still sucks, so you're pretty much stuck with a bad radio for the forseeable future.
Really like them all you can't go wrong with the price and upgraded parts just add a powerful batteries with charger it's a win win situation 🙏🙏🙏🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲💪💪💪
Love your videos. I base a lot of my buying decisions on what you say and use your tips. I have the senton 3s, and it is the most durable truck I have. Can only imagine the granite!
Arrma 3s has the lowest upgrades. Rpm arms adjustable mount metal hubs i think its a good thing imo and recently the new metal driveshafts who are not overpriced
Have bought Rival MT10 today... While waiting 4 delivery - could U be so kind to give a link for arms? Not sure than have heard correctly - HINIAN?! Wanna buy a complect in advance ))
Chad Hardesty What about it? What about the Erevo, it’s labeled a 1/10 scale by TraxxASS. What about the Redcat mt10e or Kaiju which is the same size as the Maxx? What about the Proline Pro MT? All of these are almost 2 times the price except the Redcats and take more than 3s except the Mt10e and Proline depending on what electronics you use.
@@williamperri3437 The maxx is a bad ass MT Truck Definitely but it's a 4s so it in a different class then the 4 trucks mentioned in this vid and at almost $600 you might as well get a Full Blown X Maxx witch is my favorite RC TRUCK out of all trucks on the market.
I've got the Senton 3s BLX and I do love it but am gutted I didn't get the Granite because you can jump the Granite better, am trying to make the Senton into a Granite at the moment , if it doesn't work am going to buy the Granite, Fantastic comparison video my good friend , keep safe and well 👍🥰😎👍
I've owned a traxxas nitro rustler for about ten years , no problems I only brought new tires and a new body for it. Just recently been having problems starting it so I decided to buy a new truck. I was gonna get the x maxx but didn't want to spend 1300 on a toy , I mean you could get a electric bike or used motorcycle for that much. Was gonna get the stampede been didn't like the look .the body sit to high and high center of gravity.
They're from the Losi Tenacity MT (discontinued). I don't think the tires are sold separately, but if you want premounted tires it's part number LOS43017.
I have 4 tenacity's 2-MT & 2-Truggy, agree with the drive train cups wear quick. But I have 4 of them so I like everything else. Had a Granite, nothing but problems, have the 6's typhon, talion, kraton. No trouble except need to silicone the diffs. to the chassis otherwise dirt gets in and wrecks the gears. Hate the Granite be no.4 on my list. Don't have the Rival but still running the Helion. Be No.1 on my list. Beat that thing all the time (most run truck). Don't have or will ever own a Traxxas. since they started there bulling in the 70's. I have spent well over 20,000 dollars in Rc vehicles in the last 30 years. Not one dime went to them bastards!
steve west There is definitely no need for silicone on the diffs. I’ve used a bead of marine grease on mine each time I go in for usual maintenance and have no issues with dirt or debris. You have to silicone every manufacturers diffs out of the box to whatever you want, not just Arrmas. Mine atleast have all had silicone in them from the factory, a Typhon a Kraton and Outcast. Unlike the Corally Shogun I purchased which was bone dry, Losi 3xle was basically dry except for a little grease.
You can't put a truck together and compare it to stock trucks like you did with the losi. You got a sc truck with monster trucks and a body. Of course it will handle better due to lcg chassis and wheel base.
The Losi has been discontinued. The current plastics on the new tenacity series with the spektrum electronics are very durable as I have done direct comparisons with replacement parts from the original tenacity and what is included in the RTRs. There are even different bearing sizes used that are not even reflected in the exploded views! The electronics except the servo that come on the losi are amaze balls and easily justify the price premium. Having a center diff is a huge plus. My viewpoint is a little skewed as I run mines on a clay track just like you had mentioned. I predict Losi will be releasing an updated Tenacity MT Pro soon.
locomotive282 That would be nice to see Losi update some monster trucks. The 3xle is outdated and I’m pretty sure being discontinued as well but there’s still a bunch for sale. At 499$ it is a good deal for a 1/8 scale 6s MT. However I think the only new MT they have coming is a solid axle truck. Oh well
Octavian Caesar actually i am stoked about a possible solid axle mt, but i get what you’re saying they should have what i call a muggy (monster truggy) in their line up

Where did you get all that for $350 please..
dirt burners, rc store in the Livonia, Michigan
How much drive time do you get from that battery? Looking for my son but am uneducated on rc
Love my Arrma Granite it drives nice on 2s and a animal on 3s! Only mods flysky radio and widen it with the rpm arrma typhon arms.
What else did you have get besides the arms dont mind me askn i bought the 17mm hubs from jennys , i was going convert to 4s while using stock axels i didn't realize id have change all the parts and better to get the hr parts
@@rcplayer7581 the arms and the turnbuckles . Turnbuckles need to order 3 pairs. ARAC1083 ARRMA Steel Turnbuckle M4x48mm Black (2
I love Arrma products. I'm thinking of getting my 5 yr old the Granite 3s but running it on 2s & 50% throttle for him. He's driven other RCs before and I think this could be slowed down enough for him and quick enough for me
Typhon 3s or 4s arms? So arms and 3 pairs of turnbuckles thats it?
Had a 2wd stampede xl5 before I got the granite.....holy hell what a step up😂 granite is an absolute badass!
It basically automatically makes me go buy the Traxxas because I can buy the batteries and chargers and there's even a simple link that will take you to compatible batteries for the truck.
you bring up some good points, thanks for the fresh perspective
I have the granite blx 4x4. I think the biggest problem is the wheelie bar. That breaks all the time. I've also had the motor bearings break apart pretty quickly. The shocks leak fairly quickly. I've also been having a issue snapping the steering blocks. It is a very fast truck but I have more fun with my tenacity TT pro. You can put more power down on 3s because of the longer wheelbase.
the wheelie bar is a bit weak, I took it off the first day. you're right about the longer wheelbase of the tenacity, almost an unfair advantage!
the AE Rival MT10 is pretty awesome Truck!
I enjoy these 3 different types of RCs
I'm thinking of getting the Arrma Granite Blx I've seen so many videos of it it's fantastic. Good to have other RC brands to choose from if Traxxas doesn't have what I want.
Waiting on the latest version the V3 Granite. Can't wait... Razor, your video's are awesome. Thanks for sharing. Keep em coming. John
update , i now own a 6s Kraton , and i must say i thought the granite was awesome . the kraton 6s make the granite feel like a toy. the granite is great for the price , dont get me wrong. but for what you get in the kraton 6s it is truly a bargain . in get metal shock with shaft covers. metal driveshaft , metal dogbone and turnbuckle. also sway bars. metal tower to tower brace and etc. my kraton flys straight as a arrow. the kraton 6s is the best rc i have own , and the best for the money . the traxxas maxx is a 4s 1/10 scale , and cost more.?
Got the granite blx. Such a fun MT 🔥
Arrma Granite is for sure the BEST! I own one and I own a Kraton V3 and I love driving the Granite way better and friends can also drive it with ease for sure the best. Change out remote and call it a day. I put the Dumbo remote with gyro in mine and that sucker flies like the wind.
such a good truck, definitely contender for the best pound-for-pound basher ever made
Agreed
Excellent comparison! Never owned the Granite but I got to agree with you on it being the top performer OTB base on my experience with the other Arrma 4x4's.
One BEST rc i have owned , i used it so much that pretty much every parts been changed at least once except the chassis , only due to wear tear from using daily
Finally a good video that I can relate to
trying to make something for everyone
I have had the granite for about 4 months and havent replaced a single thing. Crazy durable and fast. The granite is far better value then the other 3 imo
Alex_ Padilla_ bearings are not rubber sealed, so they fail quick in wet or dirty conditions. Tires are prone to tears. Shocks leak. Plastic pivot balls wear quick too. In my experience with the similar Senton.
@@RyanRKJ I must be lucky, no tires ripped, zero shock leakage, and no bearing failed yet. I also run on 3s 90% of the time.
I’ve had my granite for a year now and i love it!!
I got my granite 2 weeks ago! You won’t be disappointed!
Still prefer arma over stampede?
Hey great video as always. A few months ago I asked about what to get on a forum and you were actually the one that guided me towards the granite. Ive been bashing it since I got it and only had the usual problems that come from excessive abuse. I do have to disagree on your negatives about it though. They are so similar to other Arrma cars that its actually rather easy to modify it a bit. I for example changed over to the LCG chassis from the senton and higher side guards from a different model I cant quite remember, as well as some other minor modifications. Either way great comparison and video as always. Keep it up!
LCG ? The senton is just longer and you wouldve had to change drive shaft
The maxx wins with the wide kit, I’ll be posting some videos on it next week
How do you feel about the new firma motors? I think the old motors were better. The firmas seem to get hot real quick
@@morganyates6598 thanks:)
I agree with your top choice.. I own a GRANITE BLX BRUSHLESS, takes a beating.. but the radio lag does suck.
joe murphy Spend 25$ on a 4 channel DumboRc with the 6 channel receiver and problem solved.
I have a big rock 3S absolutely love it
Large Scale Life what batteries do you run? I’m thinking of gettin one but wanna make are the batteries I already have will fit
cory f zeee 5200 mA 3S I also have a couple of ovonic 5200 mA 3S batteries as well I have multiple brands of 2S batteries ranging from 5000 to 7000 mA and all of those fit as long as the battery pack is it super long you should be able to run almost any two or 3S pack.
Large Scale Life ok sweet thanks for all that info. My largest 3s is 5000 so I should be good
cory f yeah you should be good with that you’ll probably get 12 to 15 minutes of run time on that battery after I got this truck definitely ordered a couple more and I just picked up a kraton 6s so I ordered a few extra batteries and I could use them in Both trucks so that definitely helps
MT410 looks awesome! I definitely need to get one someday!
Just got me one been playing with it love the way it does very fast out runs my Traxxas all day and out jumps it powers there when you need it
I only own the Granite out of these, but I can attest to its durability.
Which one is better : Arrma Granite, Associated Rival MT10 or Traxxas Rustler ?
@razorrc new big rock or the new granite? which would you go with?
Enjoyed the video - I’ve got a couple of heavily modified stampedes that run like scalded dogs but I’m looking to replace them
Super informative thanks 🙏🏻
hey just one thing you but in the description the losi tenacitydb pro instead of the mb pro
Funny you rate the pede the worse when I own close to 30 vehicles and it's easily one of my favs! Especially with a couple mods.
Same here.. I have at least 25 ground vehicles.. the stampede takes a whoopin!! It is my favorite 1/10th mt, have the rival as well and it is a very good truck..minus esc :(
The dhk crosse bl is a absolute beast btw..built like a tank and also $299
Agree completely that the granite is as durable as you say.
Great review as always! I appreciate your perspective because you tell it like it is.👍👊
more bigrock reviews, good video
The best MT to me is the HPI XL Savage Flux by far.
Hardcore Vibes It has issues of its own and it’s only a 1/12 scale
That's an 1/8 scale this is the best 1/10 scale
I have the arrma outcast 4s which is like an upgraded granite that can run 4s. I love it
I love my rival mt10 it’s a awesome truck but the down side about it is that the radio is complete and total garbage I replaced it couple weeks after I bought it. But it’s very fast durable and really fun for the price.
great video and i have the Arrma Granite 3s blx and it is awesome
I always liked the vaterra halix which I guess is owned by losi. I don’t know why they stop making the truck. It was very similar to the stampede. The stampede always has a special place in my heart LOL. Still like that truck lol. I think overall if you want to do more bashing you go to the 1/8 scale.......I heard the redcat mt10e is pretty badass also
Hey where whould you rank the ARRMA Big Rock 3s
It's 95% the same car as the Granite.
Nice review but I think you missed the big rock crew cab off the list which is a much more stable truck than the granite. All the Arrma 3s are seriously value for money great fun
How much will bashing with granite last with a 8500 3s GENS ace battery?
Thanks again.
what is difference between vxl and v3?
I agree, great truck, put 4a with castle creations electronics runs crazy fun.
I have a granite for a year and half now and I bought it because I heard so many reviews about it but maybe I was unlucky with mine the servo gave up the esc gone wrong I have the strangest break I broke the top colar on the body of front shock... But in general I liked your review of comparing the four trucks. Greatings from Portugal.
sorry to hear about that, and thank you.
What happened to the nitros I want to get back into it
ATM i prefer the Asso MT10. Cause the Main issue (A-Arms) is easy to fix with RPM ones and it has a Middlediff. The granite is more expensive and the Slipper and Motormount fix is way more expensive to fix. In Germany the Granite cost 80-90 Euro more.
What’s the bmx park that you jump the trucks on?
What the best truggy 1/10 of course for racing!!!!
there's only the Xray and the Tekno. I'd probably get the Tekno and get the updated front arms and hingepins
@@RazorRC there is also the PR Racing SB401-RT you can get through NemoRacingUSA.COM, THERCPROSHOP.COM, VENDETTAHOBBIES.COM and FIERCERCSOLUTIONS.COM. Check it out it's a great truggy!
You should do the best solid axle monster truck next
Do we know when Arrma will be updating the radio for the 3S models?
I don't know, but my guess is they will replace it with the STX3 which is supposed to come out on its own in May. But word on the street is that it still sucks, so you're pretty much stuck with a bad radio for the forseeable future.
The skate park at 12:00, was that Menlo Park?
May I ask why you sold it if it ended up as your #1 pick?
Funcentric replaced it with a Kraton 4S. That was a mistake.
@@RazorRC Thanks for the reply. Sounds like you miss the Granite.
Really like them all you can't go wrong with the price and upgraded parts just add a powerful batteries with charger it's a win win situation 🙏🙏🙏🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲💪💪💪
Just picked up a proline pro mt ambush... Hope it's worth it! See it didn't make the list lol
yeah, I limited it to big brand RTR's only
Love your videos. I base a lot of my buying decisions on what you say and use your tips. I have the senton 3s, and it is the most durable truck I have. Can only imagine the granite!
I have the granite I just didn't know that it came with plastic diffs
Nice comparison 👍 I don't own any of these but my Senton 3s is awesome!
thanks for stopping by!
Arrma 3s has the lowest upgrades. Rpm arms adjustable mount metal hubs i think its a good thing imo and recently the new metal driveshafts who are not overpriced
Vs traxxas they do
Ands down Team associated rival mt10 is my #1 pick.
Have bought Rival MT10 today... While waiting 4 delivery - could U be so kind to give a link for arms? Not sure than have heard correctly - HINIAN?! Wanna buy a complect in advance ))
I think they fixed the arms, so no need to buy Helion arms anymore.
Thats my next car
What about the Maxx
this is 2S/3S, the Maxx is in another league.
Bill Perri that’s a tough one, really comes down to how much you want to spend and how big of a truck you want to drive.
Bill Perri overall I think the Granite is the better buy. A big reason is that you can almost buy two Granites for one Maxx.
I've got the Senton 3s BLX and I do love it but am gutted I didn't get the Granite because you can jump the Granite better, am trying to make the Senton into a Granite at the moment , if it doesn't work am going to buy the Granite, Fantastic comparison video my good friend , keep safe and well 👍🥰😎👍
Thanks, should be pretty easy to convert -- chassis, sideguards, center driveshaft, that's about it I think. Enjoy!
Use granite tire cut body to fit and use 13 pignon gear on 3S + hot racing pivot ball kit to eliminate to much play and you have a beast basher
The senton has lil longer chassis same as the brcc the granite wheels are better and great for jumping
nice video. i was wanting a granite or the db pro. I just ordered the db pro from my local shop last week.
nice, have fun with it!
Glad to hear that. I hope mine comes soon.
Where can I get a tenacity?
I'm by no means a Traxxas guy but isn't the Traxxas Max (1/10) generally considered higher quality than the Stampede?
SudsRC yes, but I consider that to be a different class of MT. It’s 4S and $529. I have a video comparing that against the 4S Kraton.
I almost bought the Granite but ended up going for the Outcast
I've owned a traxxas nitro rustler for about ten years , no problems I only brought new tires and a new body for it. Just recently been having problems starting it so I decided to buy a new truck. I was gonna get the x maxx but didn't want to spend 1300 on a toy , I mean you could get a electric bike or used motorcycle for that much. Was gonna get the stampede been didn't like the look .the body sit to high and high center of gravity.
What platform are the tires on the Losi from? I have those wheels and have been looking for a set of tires for them.
They're from the Losi Tenacity MT (discontinued). I don't think the tires are sold separately, but if you want premounted tires it's part number LOS43017.
The chassis is really low on the granite compared to the others though.
Oh well
Bill Perri and the bottom loading battery what were they thinking?
Octavian Caesar actually i am stoked about a possible solid axle mt, but i get what you’re saying they should have what i call a muggy (monster truggy) in their line up
I asked Losi if they were going to release more Pro models, and they said yes. That pretty much means either a truggy or MT should be coming!
I disagree w/num 4 I have the truck and it’s the best I’ve ever had
