    Slash is so old, there are dads, who buy one for their kid, getting sentimental - "just like the one I had growing up!"

    I recently picked up a Senton 4x2 Boost to replace my lost or stolen (not sure yet) Slash. Honestly, I don't miss the Slash other than its special spot as my first "real RC". My first drive with the Senton was in very fine silty dirt that has loads of big rocks in it. Flipped over way less for sure, but also if I didn't see a big rock, the Senton just went over them. Where in a similar spot my Slash would have had a nasty wreck. Don't get me wrong my Senton flipped a few times and took some tumbles for sure, the body stood up to it all better than I remember my Slash's body doing. Still, both trucks are darn good values to me, and really can't go wrong with either.

      The LCG chassis makes a huge difference for the Slash. Mine basically will not traction roll on the street any more.

      @@alexp6409 definitely didn't mean to sound like the Slash is trash, I just don't miss it as much now. I'll probably get one for custom building again in the future though.

      The first upgrade I'm going to do when I get a Slash is the LCG chassis. I've heard it does wonders for the Slash 2wd platform. But for now, my Senton is ready for $250 in upgrades lol

    I Honestly think that the durability segment and the support maintenance segment are hard to separate. As an example if you buy a new Rc which needs more parts because it's less durable but you can get them really easily surely that's cancelled out by a more durable RC that's slightly harder to get parts for. I dunno which I would prefer but it's definitely worth mentioning.

    hey, nice video 👍👍
    A little tip : Try using weights behind the rear axle like the Traxas Slash. Because it was designed as an FRD from the start and has the engine behind the rear axle. The Arrma, on the other hand, was designed as AWD and therefore has the engine in front of the rear axle. 100g might be a little more or less weights behind the rear axle (fishing lead may don it) AND I TELL YOU IT WILL BE MORE FUN THAN WITH AWD. 😉
    Maybe good material for a video, because the senton is available in Germany for 160€ or around 140$.
    A beginner or you can stick with the brushed motor and run it on 3S, which gives you around 30% more power witch is enough i think before converting it to brushless.
    you will be pleasantly surprised ....greetings from Berlin✌ ... keep it up

    Hey Razor, I’m commenting on this video since it is a more current one regarding Sentons and Slashes. I had a Senton that I raced on indoor clay and obviously it was too heavy and had almost zero adjustability. Great basher but not tunable. I’ve watched your whole video on Tuning a Slash 4x4 as well. Would a new BL2S 4x4 Slash be more tunable than the BLX Senton, or would the cost of parts just put me in the range of building out a Tekno? I’d like to have something that can somewhat compete on a track but not be $1000 into it.

    I am surprised that, when taking the value into consideration, you didn't talk about the slash being able to race out of the box. I think that is a big selling point for them. Most local 1/10 tracks will have a stock Slash class.

    I am a RC enthusiast from Germany and interested in both trucks.
    But I like Arrma better because it’s way easier to maintenance because of modular build.
    At the end I kinda compared the Traxxas with Apple. Because in Germany Traxxas trucks are not really cheap. For the price of a Traxxas Slash blx 2S VXL 4x4 I could get the bigger Arrma Mojave 3S.

  • @TheFatAssCat
    @TheFatAssCat 2 года назад +2

    Interesting launch from Arrma for sure. The 23T servo and 2-in-1 radio/ESC are a little obnoxious but the fact that you get an upgradable 4x4 platform for $200 is pretty sweet.
    As much as I love my goofy 2WD stampede the 3S Arrmas are just a dream to work on by comparison. Dead simple.
    The only con I could think of is the LCG if someone drives in grass a lot. Not great for a 2WD truck. But a great starting point for most.

    • @rickrussell
      @rickrussell 2 года назад +1

      > 23T servo
      That's just Spektrum. It shares the same 23T output spline as Airtronics/Sanwa.
      But I agree with the implication: it would be a LOT better if the entire industry would just stay on 25T.

    The HPI Jumpshot SC V2 is a car if you haven't already had one could put it to the test (if its easy to get one) to put up against the Traxxas or arrma.... This was something i was looking at a while ago but bought something else.. a Tamiya buggyra fat fox kit.. as the one fault i know of in the jumpshots is its main gear which is plastic not being durable but there is a metal gear upgrade.. just couldn't find one (at a reasonable price) to make buying the car in the first place...
    Or another option (pending asking price in the sense if its closely price with the Traxxas or the arrma...)
    the team associated pro2 sc..

    For racing, the Slash wins hands down. Not necessarily because it's a better racer, but simply because it's the most popular racing class there is. There are no classes the Senton would quality for, it's purely a basher.
    For bashing, I'd say it's a toss up. The Senton is more durable for sure. But the Slash is quicker, faster, and handles better off road than the Senton. I've taken the center drive shaft out of my Granite before just to see how it handles, and yeah it's awful.
    If I were to recommend one to a newbie, I'd say the Slash. It's the better 2WD platform, you can upgrade it to the moon just like the Senton. The Senton works better as a 4x4, so you might as well just buy the 4x4, it's cheaper than upgrading it. The Mega 4x4 comes with a battery and charger for $270 so it's only $30 more than the Boost with a battery and charger, and the BLX version is $340 so it's an even better value. The Senton Boost for $200 is just a low effort cash grab.

    SCT that can’t drive on dirt isn’t an SCT 🤷🏼‍♂️
    But the primary win for the Slash is the entry into spec slash racing. Most everywhere has a club or track nearby that races spec slash. But a $200 RC and have a race ready vehicle that gets you plugged into the racing community.
    I try to race spec slash. But it’s comical at best 🤣

    My ex car history consults of a 1/16th traxxas erevo brushed and a arrma 3s vorteks. Way different beast but forever will stick to arrma just really for that price and parts choice. Left the vortek behind when I moved recently 😢 and now going to the shop to hopefully pick up a 3s sention. Was considering the brushed due to budget but I’ll prob just regret it. Then Will upgrade to the new RadioMaster Mt12 radio so I can get more cars
    I’m not a huge rc car guy( I already fly drones and planes) but like having the option to itch that scratch when I wanna drive so I really never broke the vortek, also street drove it mostly so tires fricking blew over time

    i have been using the senton 4x2 boost for a while now, i have compared it against my friends slash 2wd, i think the senton is better in terms of durability and maintenance, and price is worth 210-230, because it is a lot better than the slash imo, if anyones starting out with rc, i would get a senton, even if it’s only brushed, it will be great.
