I've had Horizon branded cars/boats and they're ok about discontinued model parts support but not great, and they usually don't produce a model as long as Traxxas. So 5 years from now, the Hoss will likely still be in production (maybe not for long, who knows) whereas probably the Granite and definitely the Associated will not be in production, but there will be some hit or miss parts for them at online retailers and some people selling new-old-stock parts on ebay for them. At this point, even though Traxxas doesn't seem to mention that as a feature, that appears to be something they have going for themselves, which is probably just the result of not changing up your model line that much by making new platforms that aren't based on prior models.

Nice comparison! I used to have a modified 4x4 brushless Stampede and I recently bought a Typhon 3S. I agree that the design is (way) better on the Traxxas vehicles. @@Mostima115 thanks to its ''low'' (where do you even drive lol) ground clearance, the Kraton actually handles better than a typical MT. (doesn't wheelie and roll over as much) Also I've found the chassis and rear shock tower to bend easily on my kraton but on my typhon, it's been fine. From what I've seen, the 4s kraton is actually more fragile than the 6s. (especially the a arms) The corally cars have brittle a arms and a bad wingmount design (Kronos), also they're more expensive than the arrmas
@@Mostima115 what!? The V5 arrmas are 600! That's crazy. I won't buy one. But where I live, v4 arrmas are cheaper than v2 corallys. Okok, yea the weight definitely isn't optimal and I am honestly a bit disappointed with my kraton (the diffs like to break on 6s) but race cars that weigh less because of the use of more premium materials and cleverer designs also typically cost a lot more and most are kits, not RTRs Also, I usually land on grass, because there is almost nowhere to jump except in a grass field here, which means I haven't had any issues with electrics. Ps: I'm not an expert, but it seems like you are. Sorry for misleading comment above (maybe this one as well idk)
same opinion as you Razor RC, i check the hoss to much money for make change later that are by force and for that the hoss become more expensive, but Arrma brake the but to traxxas more cheap and can be upgraded and cost less compare to hoss. Thanks man
Arma should ditch the metal chassis for their bashers altogether. Once the metal chassis bends, it’ll never be the same even if you can bend it back. And it will never be as strong. Composite is chassis the way to go.
Really like all these trucks can't go wrong with the price and upgraded parts just add powerful batteries with charger it's a win win situation 🙏🙏🙏🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲💪💪💪
I’ll still take the associated, even though it’s slower with a few dollars of RPM arms and some adjustments on the suspension, I think it would be just as durable and fun to drive but that’s just me. I like adjustability, and AE cars run so smooth.
No clue what Traxxas was thinking having this truck closer to the Max’s price point and yet putting the Ultra shocks and that flippin 2075 slow, weak plastic geared servo in it!!! Shame on you Traxxas. I still love ya tho. But dam that’s not cool.
I struggled to understand its placement if they're going to continue selling new models of the Stampede 4x4. For that matter I thought the max was also considered a 1/10 scale.
Really didn’t have to watch this to know the Arrma was going to come in first the other two would be a toss up for me I totally agree with you the Hoss is definitely over priced for what it comes with although if it had been released earlier than it was I probably would have bought one and done all the necessary durability upgrades. I was actually looking for a “Stampede sized” monster truck a while back ended up snatching a close out Proline Pro MT 4x4 unfortunately I didn’t know both it and the SC Fusion were both being dropped with Horizon buying out Proline if only I could have seen that far into the future I guess 🤷♂️

In my opinion the hoss deserves all of its naysaying. It doesn't matter how good the vehicle is if it's priced inappropriately it's a bad deal. This should have been the stampede 2.0 and someone in marketing got greedy.

Hi! Great video! Last summer I've got myself hooked on the RC hobby. I want to buy a new car for this summer and I'm torn - should I get the Maxx or the Arrma Granite V3? I really want an all-plastic design and the Arrma 3S V3 line is tempting with the price - 420 USD for the Granite here and 620 USD for the Maxx this is a big difference. But maybe If I buy the Maxx I won't have to think about repairs for a longer period? I don't know... EDIT: I mainly want to drive it on a local skatepark - not huge jumps but a lot of concrete
Great Truck, but I disagree on working on it? It’s maybe the easiest truck to work on I’ve been working on R/C cars/trucks over 30 years and was so intrigued by Arrmas design overall. I mean...One main screw and the “whole thing” comes apart to get to your motor. What were referring to as far as what was difficult? This is by far the most innovative designs I have seen yet. Traxxas has some cool stuff too, but the price kills it for me. You get so much bang for your buck going Arrma in any category. Go back 15 years...to get something as fast as the granite, you would have to spend $1000 bucks easy. Today it’s around $350 bucks for V3 truck a battery and charger and boom your in. Turn key I think your in it about $550 bucks.

This helped a ton I have the V2 got it last summer and it would over heat constantly then the long screw on bottom vibrated lose and the motor shifted and I think it's the slipper I got a huge gouge down the middle of it,thought a out replacing parts but I'm going to go with the BLX V3 and use any parts I can off the old one.but I was hoping through video you were going to say ARRMA #1 keep up the amazing work brother and Rip That Shit
good video thanks
Hi is that single screw on mt10 the 1 to adjust the motor please. CAn you do video how change pinion on mt10 an adjust motor
That's Calabasas park right?, dope video.
You could buy a Kraton 6s for $80 more than the Hoss, and you could get the 6s typhoon for the same price.
@@Mostima115 Whats wrong with the Kraton?
@@Mostima115 thanks to its ''low'' (where do you even drive lol) ground clearance, the Kraton actually handles better than a typical MT. (doesn't wheelie and roll over as much)
Also I've found the chassis and rear shock tower to bend easily on my kraton but on my typhon, it's been fine.
From what I've seen, the 4s kraton is actually more fragile than the 6s. (especially the a arms)
The corally cars have brittle a arms and a bad wingmount design (Kronos), also they're more expensive than the arrmas
@@Mostima115 what!? The V5 arrmas are 600! That's crazy. I won't buy one. But where I live, v4 arrmas are cheaper than v2 corallys.
Okok, yea the weight definitely isn't optimal and I am honestly a bit disappointed with my kraton (the diffs like to break on 6s) but race cars that weigh less because of the use of more premium materials and cleverer designs also typically cost a lot more and most are kits, not RTRs
Also, I usually land on grass, because there is almost nowhere to jump except in a grass field here, which means I haven't had any issues with electrics.
Thanks man
HELION RC WAS AMAZING. ALL THE TRUCKS WHERE BUILIT GREAT AND STRONG
Can i put traxxas hoss shell on granite?!! I like how the granite performs but I want the looks of hoss shell
Arma should ditch the metal chassis for their bashers altogether. Once the metal chassis bends, it’ll never be the same even if you can bend it back. And it will never be as strong. Composite is chassis the way to go.
When the best driving RC rates last then the ratings system probably needs revisiting.
I like my granite it's a good little rc but I can't get over how weak the drive shafts are. Even on 2s they pop apart.
try loosening your slipper clutch. mine was set too tight by about a full turn by the factory.
@Lucian Carlisle so you put a supercharged big block in a Honda Civic, and you’re complaining that parts are breaking... 🤨
Great review! Granite wins again 😃 I'm trying hard to resist buying one 😂
thanks! such a good truck, the whole 3S line is good.
Haha same as me at the moment! I've recently bought the typhon and MT10 and I'm addicted already 🙃 😅
Really like all these trucks can't go wrong with the price and upgraded parts just add powerful batteries with charger it's a win win situation 🙏🙏🙏🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲💪💪💪
Hi, does a Stampede 4x4 still have sense? Or it is a truck from the past
It's a truck from the past, I wouldn't get one.
😁👍Arrma for the win!
Great video. Loved the comparison. What category does the BRCC fall in? I know it's the same price point as the Granite.
it's pretty much a Granite with a long wheelbase. kind of inbetween classes (classic 3S MT and 4S MT)
I was disappointed in the Hoss and I've never been disappointed with any Traxxas product. The Granite was just more fun and it's very tough.
I’ll still take the associated, even though it’s slower with a few dollars of RPM arms and some adjustments on the suspension, I think it would be just as durable and fun to drive but that’s just me. I like adjustability, and AE cars run so smooth.
in my last comparison with the change in pricing and the improved front arms on the Rival, I think it's a better truck now!
I honestly feel like the hoss is just a re-marketed stampede 4x4 vxl. I was unimpressed when it debuted.
How does a slipper clutch go out on the arrma granite
@tomley RC have your monster truck opinions changes with introduction of the Losi LMT?
Great vid, are the plastic diff gears an issue?
Ya they don’t last and the slipper clutch I had issues with in the big rock
Traxxas MAX! 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Arrma all the way. Keep up the great videos.
Great comparison I feel your 💯% correct that for sharing the good information 🙏🙏😎😎🔥🔥👍👍👍💯💯💯💯
thanks, hope you're doing well, you got a nice fleet over there!
New spur gear, new shocks, new drive shafts, should’ve just bought maxx v2. But still need new drive shafts hinge pins.
@@qw0wp2 They should have just made this replace the stampede 4x4
iDs Hunter and yet almost $500. Would rather spend the extra $70 and just get the Max.
No question the best Monster truck is either the Maxx or X Maxx.
Granite is the best and much monster truck looking. Looks proportional body
I already have a Kraton 6s, fancy a 1:10 scale truck now. Given I already have an Arrma, and Traxxis costs mega money here in the UK.... should I go with the MT10?
Is it the same price as the Arrma? The 3S cars are much different than 6S cars, so I'd get the Arrma unless it's a lot more expensive.
I have an mt10 and love it, the transmitter is better than the arrma one ( i know this cos I have a senton). Tbh I would probably get a granite too if I could afford it!
Hello, I'm RC player from China. I'm looking at a few models right now: arrma granite V3, teamssociated mt10 and arrma outcast 4S. I prefer arrma's car, but after watching your video, I think mt10 is also very good. I'd like to hear your suggestion. Is it better to choose granite V3 or mt10? Is outcast 4S coming out with a new model (V5)? Thank you very much. --By Google translation
Buy mt10. Best differential
I can get the 1/10 maxx for 100 less than the hoss. I really feel the next truck should be a max
Any particular reason the Big Rock V3 was not included in this comparison video?
It’s closer to 1/8 scale
In my opinion the hoss deserves all of its naysaying. It doesn't matter how good the vehicle is if it's priced inappropriately it's a bad deal. This should have been the stampede 2.0 and someone in marketing got greedy.
I don't see how. It's $30 more then stampede with improvements
@@kenmastersmaster Traxxas lowered the price quite a bit since I made that comment.
@@DoRC I still agree it's overpriced when the mt10 is $309 with a center diff
Not sure it can take the abuse of a stampede and parts are way easier to get on a traxxas and much higher resale
@@kenmastersmaster The hoss has a center diff 2
@@DoRC oh ok so just the arrma sucks with the plastic diffs and leaky shocks lol
I heard the kaiju is designed by associated you think that's true? 6s truck for $399???
...and the best is... the Arrma Big Rock BLX V3!!! eheheheh
Yes to blx2 the best out of those three
One might be best of the 3 but not best comparded to other rc trucks ,traxxas blows iv got 4 and they are always broke but my arrmas dont have alot of problems so my choice wood be any arrma over a traxxas
Which one did you get?
Just buy one and bash it and enjoy it!
I would save up for the Maxx!
Hi do you know if you can fit the hiss tailgate protector onto the granite? Thanks for your videos
Can you upgrade the motor to 3660?
Go back 15 years you would have to spend $500,000 to have a device as fast as your $200 iPhone. What's your point?
Hey buddy does the Arrma Granite 550 mega have a feature to change 50% power to 100% power, no reverse like Traxxas offers?
could you compare the redcat rc-mt10e?
I have a 1st and 2nd generation Granite would give up both for a Maxx
Ahhhh.. really ???? I have all 4 of the arrma 3s line and also an xmaxx and a maxx and I don't think I the Maxx is a lot better than the granite ... I love my maxx but I love my granite the same
.. my granite is a damn tank lol..indistructable as my maxx and speed wise and handling about the same
@@jossuegarza215 1st generation Granite 2wd brushed with Tamiya plug the first Granite ever made 2s capacity nothing special so I would basically be trading a 3s Granite for a 4s Maxx if they are even close in comparison I like the look of the Maxx more. I do like my 3s Granite just would like to try on a Maxx !
@@garretdykstra9015 cool, my granite is a v2 3s.. and yes the looks of the maxx are better but I wouldn't buy it again.. I bought it and can't take it back but I was disappointed when I first bought it .. to make it a good rc truck you have to invest in metal driveshafts and the wide maxx kit... the plastic driveshafts that it comes with snap like pretzels after 2 minutes of hard use.they are not like the arrma 3s driveshafts..arrma made great plastic driveshafts while traxxas drive shafts suck.. so basically I paid 580 for the truck, another 150 for driveshafts and the accessories needed to install driveshafts and 58 for the widemaxx kit.. so ots about 780... more than twice the price of the granite.... after you do that to the maxx it's great and a tank but in my opinion not woth all that money ..now , my x maxx.. yes its definitely worth the 980 I paid for it
@@jossuegarza215 which maxx would you recommend I'm thinking about gettin one i like the granite but i hear 50% good stories 50% bad maybe you know a guy selling there's?
Great video totally agree.👍👍💯💯
What shocks are you running on the hoss?
Any chance you will review the Redcat MT10E? Sorry, been commenting on a few of your videos!
I saw in the comments that you are not liking what you see - could you summarize why?
great content keep up the good work
You can always improve the performance, durability, and handling. But you can't improve the customer support or ease of maintenance. The Hoss is more expensive for several good reasons - Traxxas will actually pick up the phone when you call them, and all Traxxas products have a lifetime electronics warranty.
tru I agrreeeee
