I have all of the top 3 picks, all great little trucks in my opinion. I ran my Quantum2 MT Flux this afternoon, grared up a couple of teeth on the pinion to a 16t. That woke the Q2 up better for more fun. Yes the Omni Terminator is a 1/1/2 scale, had my carbon Omni Terminator arrive today, ran that also today. What a fantasic handiling little truck, we really are spoilt with the range of great vehicles available to us nowadays.
Yeah we got affordable choices for sure these days. Been an MT10 fan since before it was even a TA rig but im really digging the Q2 and that little Omni.
Tekno is in a class by itself but not really a fair comparison between it and other trucks. And that price! For me, the MT10 is the best value and best performing of the lot. Something to be said for the Granite, epic truck, but AE has such a well sorted package!
The Granite did go on sale for $269 so I bought one. Probably a sign that it will be discontinued soon. I bought a Bigrock more than 3 years ago and learned how to jump with it. I was terrible and it took me forever to get any good at it. There is no more durable RC truck. What I put that through was laughable. Bending the motor shaft was end of it. Also broke the body in two. For short money and using spares it's like new again. The one must change as you have mentioned is the motor mount. I've been enjoying your channel for years! Thanks!!
Well the answer is the Gorgon. It’s the most fun RC I’ve ever driven and it’s crazy cheap even if you slap a $100 system in. The 2WD is a huge bump to the fun factor in a world of 2000 similar 4x4 trucks
My first truck was a tmaxx many years ago and then i got back in the hobby about 4 years ago and started with a V2 granite BLX. I think the worst part about it is that its so overpowered it blows itself up if you arent careful. (esp the tires lol) I put in a metal spur, slipper plates and CVD drives and that has worked well for me. I had by far the most issues with popping CVDs out of socket. If you keep reasonable settings and have some throttle control it should be very durable. The granite is usually more reliable and sturdy than my 6s kraton. The granite is the one I let peoples kids drive lol and so far it has never been damaged severely.
Nice review 🤩 So many MT’s!! I really like the granite. Bought the brushed version for my son when it was on sale and have slowly upgraded it to brushless 👍
Normally we agree with you, but not in this case. Of all the RC cars we own (40+) we have had the most problems and spent the most money on the Granite BLX V3. We have now sold it. It is very durable in some points, but not the arms. Shocks also have issues. But worst is the drivetrain, the plastic diffs are too weak, spur too weak. The motor has been replaced twice on warranty and the servo 3 times.
I'm convinced that 95% of the problems people have with the Granite is they set the slipper too tight and don't seal up the power module. As for the shocks... yeah the rod ends break too easily. 23t servo is poor too.
2 Metall Diffs is 80 bucks. Keep the plastic spur as a breaking point. Shocks are not the best. If i break something often, then i upgrade it. For every part on the granite are upgrades in the market or from arrma directly. And stock servos are nearly always not good. But from bangg... oder aliex...you can get a better one for 15 bucks.
@@RazorRC I second this. I blew out 3 diffs before finding 1 full turn out was a happy medium to allow it to slip before breaking something. Servos are always an issue, but setting endpoints and not maxing out the turn rate helps tremendously. gear mesh seems to be the biggest killer of motors. After about 200 battery packs through a BRCC, Granite, and Senton, I've only lost 1 servo between all of them in addition to the ring and pinions.

I think the Stampede 4x4 VXL went from worst in class to best in class with the new release. It may be the most expensive RTR but you get what you pay for with the extra $100. 4S motor, cush drive/center diff, TSM, clipless body, self-righting, Bluetooth telemetry, best RTR tires. Not to mention it's super easy to work on compared to the Granite and it's a much more versatile platform with more adjustability and tuning. The Tekno may be the best handling, but it's a kit and it's so expensive compared to the others, for the price you can get a 6S RTR, I don't think it should be in this comparison.
Sadly I have the old version of the stampede 4x4 vxl. I priced out upgrading it to the new version and the upgrade parts came out to over 600$cad! And that's without taxes. Utterly sad.

I personally love my upgraded bullet on 2s. With upgraded knuckles it's actually proven itself to be super durable. Many jumps and little damage. I'd actually avoid the CV axle upgrade- the dogbones popping out is a blessing in disguise for overall durability in my experience. Consider a new steering servo and wheels as well as the stock ones aren't amazing. Servicing is super easy, and parts aren't expensive, and lots of common geometry with similarly sized traxxas vehicles. I mounted a big pro-line crawler body on mine for maximum roll-over protection reinforced with drywall tape, E6000 and T-Rex tape for good measure.

The granite is such a weak driveline out of the box. The slipper clutch being zinc is unacceptable, the gears being plastic are unacceptable. My big rock stripped the gears within 12 packs. Someone else I know was also blowing plastic diffs with the typhon 3s. I did know someone with a senton 3s that didn’t have diff issues but I’ve found that SCTs are way easier on the driveline with the tires being so small. Really don’t know how anyone manages to make them last other than running the slipper loosened to the point of it being boring.
Agreed with 3rd and 2nd place, but....the Granite in 1st? It's not a bad truck but I own the 3S vehicles and their drivetrains are problematic, particularly the diffs and motor mount
If you set the slipper right, the diffs hold up pretty well. Motor mount can bend, but a 4S plate will fit and is a little thicker.
I know u did not put the hbx 2996a brushless beacuse it would have outclassed all those poor fragile trucks
Maybe... maybe not.

Omni terminator is missing.
It's not 1/10
@@richardulrich9001 mini 1/10 :)
@LucianTugui they call it mini 1:10 but it is most definitely a 1:12 scale vehicle.
That's fair, I agree it doesn't fit the same scale but I still would love an honest review on the rlaarlo!
@@ib4217 I am a beginner, my second rc car, but it's awsome, I do not bash too much, but it is so fun to drive and handling is amazing.

Bullet is the worst. So bad he didnt even have a running video of it. Just a 5 best upgrades.
Bullet is the joke of HPI :/
The bullet is the best! Its the only one that comes in nitro!
It is the worst indeed. So fragile, it breaks by looking at it.....😂
But it has nice looking wheels 🤷♂️
It's not good, but I have several running videos of it.
Subscribe awesome
I can’t believe you picked the smaller 10th scale quantum over the smaller Rlaarlo Omni-Terminator?? That thing is junk next to the Rlaarlo… I’m just saying brother…
I don’t care what they write on the box, the Omni is not 1/10!
@@RazorRC you are right. Rlaarlo Omni-Terminator wheelbase is 250mm. it's a slightly bigger 1/12 MT (1/11 maybe?). 1/12 are 235mm average.
The omni is 1:12 scale
We just want to know if it handles and is as durable as all the hype. It looks awesome for the price
@@RazorRC I totally agree… what I was saying was for the “small 10th scale” trucks… it totally rocks 🪨. That’s all
