I asked my wife: hey babe what's the best size for fun? And she responded: anything you have to use two hands to hold is too big! That's why I went with a 1/10. 😊
Low key one of the most useful videos for a beginner RC enthousiast, so easy to overpay for the largest and most expensive because it seems so much fun, or to underpay and get the smallest. This was very helpful in knowing my choice, thanks!
This video holds so much great info for a beginner. When I have my trucks out bashing them, and of course people come over to watch, the Xmaxx is the one people say they want. But that’s after seeing it in its element, on a construction site, or skate park. I always tell them that if they’re going to run it around the house they’ll hate it. I usually point people to my MT10 or 4s Kraton for normal backyard bashing, and warn them of the perils of Xmaxx ownership. It’s not a beginner truck, and is actually quite dangerous in the wrong hands. Great vid, Subscribed!
I definitely learned after buying just how much space I need for my 6S Kraton. We have a decent sized lot, but the Kraton needs some serious space to stretch its legs. Even the street in front can be perilous with the sidewalks. It's easy to get caught up with what's fastest or can jump the farthest when it can be a ton of fun to get something that works with your space, or nearby space if you don't have a yard
Ain't that the truth! I found this with motorcycles, too. I had a brand new 125cc Honda loaner while my big bike was in the shop for a few days one time. I was cackling away in my helmet as I red-lined that thing through traffic in every gear. Man it was fun. Right size truck for the area really does make a big difference :)
I think this video is an interesting comparison. I think for a lot of areas we run in 1/10 may be the best choice. I was glad to hear you say you wouldn't let your sun drive the larger scale trucks. I think the safety issue is often ignored by some people and indulgent parents. One thing to keep in mind is that in urban and suburban areas r/c cars spend a lot of time in parking lots and streets. They also are to taken to school fields and athletic fields that have very few bumps and jumps. The way the XMaxx looked on the jumps and on the track gives you a totally different impression on the two different surfaces. This video was a great idea.
Thank you! It's great that there's something for most people and locations in RC, but identifying a good general purpose truck is probably broadly useful. That was the thinking anyway :)
Looking for a RC car that goes with me when I am walking outside on some dirt tracks... this video was gold. In the end I'd prefer the biggest one since it can even out bumps, stones, sticks. I do like the smoothness and dont need that much speed. At least for now since I'm just interested and starting out - meaning about to buy my first RC Car as an adult. :)
Honestly, it sounds like a 1/10, 1/8 or even 1/6 crawler might be what you're after. Consider these, too: Cross RC EMO X3: ruclips.net/video/jjujffutmke/видео.html Traxxas TRX6: ruclips.net/video/Mua-kyxW-LU/видео.html Axial SCX6: ruclips.net/video/nEB5ncm0l48/видео.html RGT Rescuer: ruclips.net/video/l5dUZm_XrrM/видео.html
Thoughtful take as always. So many people get caught up in this brand versus that brand in terms of which RC holds up better to jumping over a house, which completely misses the point of enjoyment during normal use.
What a down to earth kick ass video you've made. I still always go back to my 2wd brushless rustler. That thing slips and slides, but also jumps and goes fast. and its cheap!
Totally agree I love driving in environments exactly what you have in your backyard.. I'm not interested in sending to the moon and destroying my cars much prefer to have a make do track set up and racing around with mates.. My favourite cars are EXB kraton 6S, Muraco and Asuga..
@@RCTNT They're team Corally cars. The Muraco is a speed truggy much like the 6S Talion and I can not tell you how awesome that is to drive with Louise Pirate racing truggy wheels/tyres on it I could literally drive it all day.. The Corally cars are bloody awesome! Love the channel mate only discovered you yesterday so I'm a new subscriber.. Cheers
@malsmith2012 oh awesome! Well, crazy hobbies just started stocking team corally this week so I might look into exactly the combo you just described as an intro to the brand. I'll check it out, thanks! And welcome 🙂
@RC-TNT: Love your videos, but I don't hink your explanation on 2S / 3S and the holes in the bucket are incorrect. With 2S 2200 mAh you have two cells each with 2200 mAh. 3S/2200mAh gives you three cells with 2200mAh each, so the battery size / thickness will increase by 50% (3 instead of 2 cells). Hence, in your picture, the filling level of the bucket will increase by 50% (equivalent to the watt hours of the battery which are 6,600 Wh mWh instead of 4,400 mWh). So if you runn the 3S full speed all the time, it empties as quickly as a 2S at full speed. But if with the 3S you go at 2S speed all the time, you get 50% more run time (not less!)
Sounds good in theory but you confused voltage with capacity in your hypothesis. I'll explain in a few ways to help clear it up. The size of the bucket is the watt hour rating, or capacity. When you jumped your example up in capacity, that came from nowhere. Here's why: a 2s 2200mah battery is basically 2x 2200mah cells in series. Add a third cell to make it 3s and you still have a 2200mah battery, but now it's voltage is higher. Thus, a 2200mah 3s battery is 50% physically bigger than a 2200mah 2s battery, you are correct on that point. But by adding an S, the capacity (bucket size) doesn't increase, only the number of cells (holes in the bucket). Hope this helps!
@@RCTNT yes I'm late but I'd like to agree with you: If you say the bucket size is the watt hour rating, then of course increasing the stage does increase the bucket size: it's now 11.1 times 2,200 = 24,420 milliwatt hours instead of 16,200 milliwatt hours. Because there is now a third whole in the bucket the bucket will empty as quickly as before (but not quicker!) But the car goes 50% faster. At 2/3rds throttle however, the car is as fast as with 2s but the bucket = battery lasts 50% longer than a 2s battery. Which is obvious because it holds 50% more energy (in watts! The mAh do NOT equal energy!)
What I found out is the traxxas XRT is not as robust as the XMAXX. Even though it's built on a similar platform my XRT is always breaking. I have already gone through 3 chasses and I haven't gone through 1 on my XMAXX. I have also had my xbox a lot longer. I'm not the only one that has realuzed that, many who own both feel the same. Wish I would have just bought another XMAXX. There truly is nothing out there like an XMAXX Traxxas can't even defeat their own creation. Its that good! Arrma has been quiet for a while. I wonder if they have something up their sleeve coming out. Losi came out with the awesome dirtbike. Its so good i bought all 3 colors. lol.
Horizon are on fire this past year, no doubt. Making amazing things. XRT vs Xmaxx durability, I think the XRT has the same challenges as a lot of Arrma's rigs: optimise for performance at the expense of flexible durability. Kinda one or the other. Difficult to get both with current materials technology and at that price. Because really, the xmaxx is a giant clown car. That's what makes it fun and what makes it so tough. But it's a bit of a boat compared to more optimised designs. But then it outlasts those many times over. Pick your poison really!
I had a 1/5 Baja converted to electric, was a beast, that chassis is nigh on indestructible, only 4S but friend had 8S and was almost uncontrollable. Mamba system.
@@RCTNT there is a bunch of tards at my local park who run petrol 1/5ths, 1 almost ran my dog down, everyone hates them, they make so much noise and are belligerent towards everyone who uses the park unfortunately. Puts a real downer on the RC community :/ 5ive was way out of my budget.
Yeah that's a shame. Thoughtful consideration and awareness of people around you goes a long way. I try to hit the public areas when they're empty - skate park when the kids are at school, etc.
@@RCTNT they do the opposite, tend to do it when people are BBQing or playing basketball, or even just walking dogs. 1 was having an argument with a dog owner and then drove his car right next to an old dog, did a burn out next to it.
Yeah that's pretty poor. If they're predictably regular they might be cited for disturbing the peace or public endangerment or something. They are who will be responsible for a "No RC" policy in the park if they keep it up, which would suck for everyone. Booo!
I used to have (1/8 scale, I think🤔) Viper coupe. I sure miss it.😮💨 Back then i had palm-corder video camera. i attached it to top of car with "mechanic's wire"😏
I've been running RPM arms on my MT10 since after the first few videos too. Haven't broken the stock ones yet but a mate has. It's about the only upgrade it needs, eh. What a top rig!
It's pretty much the best machine for newcomers to bashing. There are other great vehicles too but I think this might just be the RTR I recommend most often to people when they ask.
I think everyone knows who your referring to I'm pretty sure a lot feel the same way I've dropped a few of those in my own video's this was a great video Craig I've often had this exact debate over scale and what some people's expectations are very well explained bro 👊
Id say 1/8th for SURE. For begginer or Noob. Mybie if like a child smaller / slower so they dont bust it right away. For a adult even noob sure you will get smaller have fun but in no time you will CRAVE a bigger / faster one for sure. Cant go wrong with a truggy if you get a decent one they are pretty durable for bashing on grass/ gravel all skateparks will bust stuff lol. Plus if you ever want to race you can race with the truggy/ I got a monster truck my first time and I loved it.
I think the best size car depends on size of the area you are playing in. Big open, rough terrain, bigger is better. Bashing around your average back yard 1/10 seems to be a good all around size.
Absolutely! This video is about playing in your back yard or small park. You're completely right - I expect most anyone who's driven at a 5th scale track would agree that bigger is better there, too. I'm just so glad for all this choice!
@@RCTNT yeah, I love my xmaxx but I have to go out to run it while my 1/10 trucks and rally cars are about perfect for the backyard. The 1/24 scale stuff looks fun for the inside.
So fun! Makes me look forward to, Spring, here. Your comment on T-Bone Racing made me concerned they are no more but it looks like that’s not the case.
Unfortunately TBR ceased production earlier this year, after 18 years of making great stuff. There's still stock out there, but when it's gone, it's gone.
I got a few emails from them in August. This was in the last one on the 22nd: Official Announcement: Greetings Everyone, Some of you may know me, My name is Nicholas Grafton, I am one of the founding members of T-Bone Racing. It is with a heavy heart that I must announce that TBR will be closing its doors by the 22nd of August. Im a buggie guy never like the big boys always broke them i have a team associated 1/14 and a rlaarlo 1/14 both upgraded both goes around 60 i love it ....
There's a lot to like about the smaller ones. I was having a chat with a bloke after a crawl today while he ran his WLToys buggy around the parking lot. Awesome little things aren't they :)
I definitely think if you can afford one, and have some appropriate places to use it, that a larger 6S-8S truck would be a lot of fun... smaller than 1/10 can still be fun, and handy as they're cheaper , easier to store and transport, easier to find places with enough space to let them rip...but can struggle some with varied terrain more ... so, 1/10 to 1/8 , 3s-6s is kinda where I think it's at... If you can, please do a video showing some 3S 1/10 like the Rival, vs some 4S or even compare to 6S....maybe also show a truck on 4S vs 6S in that same truck.... I'm struggling to choose a "basher" .... we race so we have some 4S packs... I can't decide... Rival/Granite/Vorteks on 3S An Arrma 4S on 4S , Kraton/Outcast Or, a 6S Arrma monster truck on 4S... Any help in that decision making would be most appreciated... Cheers
Got it. I'll think on it. I think this video kinda covers your decision to some extent, but I get you want more. I'm in the process of comparing 8x different SCT and desert trucks from 2s to 4s, to start. I guess mojave 4s vs 6s could also be useful. I have the SBR 2.0 and the Baja Rey 2.0 here, maybe that could be helpful. Though that's more for 'scale' bashing than hard driving. Decisions, decisions!!
Oh and for what it's worth, something like the Rival or a sturdy SCT both could be run on 2S just fine and be really really fun. Bigger batteries and power is almost always more hassle, in my experience - but also yes, more power can be intoxicating. Kinda depends on the space you're running in most of the time 🤔
Also, is there a class that's the "best" universal fun factor of them all?? I realize it's super subjective - but I've been surprisingly drawn into scale crawlers (and I'm not even an off-road junkie) and especially smaller ones 1/24 and now Traxxas 1/18 TRX4m (which we still can't get here where I am - 3 months later after everyone else has done their unboxings 🤪), as do it all's in the 10x12m house backyard - which has to be shared with the ususal assortment of sheds, garden patches, bbq, clothing lines, bird feeders and pet cats. Someting that doesn't require commitment of time and travel to get to a course and is frugal on space and wallet to start with?
Still waiting on the TRX-4m release here in Australia, too, though I've heard rumors that some local hobby stores have received stock in the last day or two. For what you're asking, my experience has been smallish crawlers are great to satisfy all of the above (fun, portability, low price, easy to enjoy on a residential block). For faster stuff, see my current video and the follow-up one that releases just over 24 hours from now (compares buggy, SCT and monster truck in 1/10 scale for home-scale bashing). Between those and a small crawler, you're covered for plenty of low-budget fun and variety, I think!
@@RCTNT I can totally vouch for the SBR 2.0! But do get some front bumper underside metal plate protection, to avoid getting it crushed on landings. Ask me how I know! Merry Xmas, Craig!!
If USD and you're in the USA, consider a Slash, anything Arrma, Losi Mini B, any MJX Hyper Go options, Rlaarlo ROG1, or FB marketplace where some stellar used deals for that money will make you very happy indeed.
@@RCTNT absolutely does! I think I’ve had 3 lol. You should check out the metal band you can get for it, looks super cool. I’m currently rocking the GWG2000-1A1, give that model a look sometime. It’s a great piece as well!
I've bought two but love my mudmaster. I've kept an eye on the newer releases but honestly I'll just replace the battery soon for another 7-8 years of trouble free use. I like everything about this watch, including the band. Not such a fan of the metal ones, esp when I'm working in the yard. There are some epic watches out there now eh!
They're all 🆒 it's just a 14 & 16 scale are hard to see cuz they're so small & then when you get above/below 10th scale everything gets expensive as shit, I think 10th scale you get something that can go over the terrain pretty good, reasonably priced + reliable all at the same time... I have the original X-Maxx 6S when it first got released and I haven't even driven it that much because most of my friends have 10th scale and it's just such a bully if you hit their cars you won't only run them over you'll probably break their shit lol
I noticed pretty quickly that 1/16 wasn't good for me, neither was my 2995 (1/14?) both were too small for the grass. I have a 1/10 on the way but maybe a 1/8 buggy would be better too? Sidenote: In crawlers I noticed more cells would last considerably longer. Like a 3s 1300 would last me about 45min, but my 850 4s was also lasting about 45min
Fair enough. Driving style plays into it, as does cell health. All things being equal, a 1000mah 4s should last as long as a 500mah 2s. More cells means more holes in the 'bucket', so it drains faster.
Efficiency is a function of the esc, motor, gearing, vehicle mass, etc etc. Higher voltage also tends to mean higher current draw with the same motor, all else being equal. But all that aside, the number of cells is very much like this: The battery is a bucket of power. Each cell is a hole in the bottom of the bucket. Less holes means the power drains more slowly. Each hole is the same size, so you double the drain speed with 2 holes and quadruple it with 4. Again, the bucket is the same size (rated capacity - mAh) here, so more holes means faster drain. That's also why you want to get a bigger bucket (ie. more mAh) if going up in volts, if you want the same runtime.
@@RCTNT You got me thinking, the efficiency is probably more noticeable on a crawler due to it always being low in the throttle band. I would imagine you would notice the better efficiency of higher voltage on a basher if you were to first test a 3s battery and see how fast it goes, then put a 4s in and limit the throttle to match the same mph as the 3s. Then time both. It would effectively be making the holes in the bucket smaller 😁 It's why they chose to make the Cybertruck 48v
Ah, now that's why I said "all else being equal". Lower throttle is indeed like having a smaller battery, but gives you a higher top end. I don't know that this is technically what you'd call 'efficiency' but it's certainly one of the great things about electric vs gas or whatever else. The potential for range and power, plus a flat torque 'curve', makes electric very interesting for various vehicle applications.
I've thought this myself, but the larger wheels on rlaarlo's lasernut knockoff have made this 1/14 machine quite a fun offroader. More fun than I thought it'd be! (edit. It's actually 1/12, which makes your point, lol)
@RCTNT 1/14 isn't small, I always thought I wouldn't go smaller than 1/10. 1/12 is perfect. My Gen 7 is huge and very heavy. They hit a home run with the desert truck and desert buggy. I got the buggy. Unbelievable value. I'm not going to bash it just. Run it in the desert, and get a second one for parts. Really nice.
1/14 isn't small when you're talking about models of big rigs, like my BC8 Mammoth, but for bashers I'd argue 1/14 isn't that far off 1/16, which is starting to get pretty small - especially compared to 1/10! Which desert buggy are we discussing? Sorry, I got confused!!
My thinking on this is similar to xmaxx vs Kraton: - XRT if you like fast driving and better cornering and some big air. - Xmaxx if you want to go to the moon and occasionally turn some corners. They're both durable and they'll both last. I think it best to base the decision on where you'll be running it most of the time.
a bit confused about your comments concerning S rating having to do with run times."holes in the bucket" S has nothing to do with capacity but with voltage. A 1s battery is 3.7 volts. A 2s 7.4 volts, 3s 11.1 volts and so on. mAh rateing is the storage capacity and will determine run times, not S rating. Actually S rating has nothing to do with the batteries ability to provide power at a faster rate either, C rating determines that so no matter how you look at it your a bit confused. In any case still a great review and helpled me to decide on the 1/10th scale car being what im looking for. Seems like an all around good choice, brushless set up, 2s batts are very cheap and keeping it light with the 2200 mAh battery would deff increase handling and durability. Thanks for your post!
I was comparing runtime between batteries of different cell counts (S) with the same capacity (mAh). Look at it like this: Bucket = battery MAh = how full it is S = how many holes in the bottom This is why a 2000mAh 2S will last roughly as long as a 3000mAh 3S, assuming the same discharge (C) rating on both and the same load being applied. This is why watts are useful, being a function of Volts and Capacity.
Well I ordered my Rival V2 brushless. Ive been in the Hooby, mostly flight for ever and have been working as a contractor test pilot for an experimental VTOL military aircraft for the past 10 years. Crazy 20ft wingspan aircraft. A huge part of testing had to do with flight endurance and battery configs. Lets jsut say I have a SHIT LOAD of batteries to play with! LOL Im gonna look for best performance along with optimal run times and see what i come up with. Deff gonna be testing both 2 and 3s setups. (time to break out the Watt Meter!) First things first though, the handheld radio has to go, Ill be using my FlySky Nobel 4 with the car so can do some ESC tunning as well. Looking forward to sharing with you. Im excited to get more into the whole car thing for sure. At least the crashes are fixable. Way less stressfull then flying multi million dollar aircraft with experimental software! lol PS I did order the better after market A-arms for the car (front and rear) and will probably just install them right after first test run to make sure the thing works before investing the time to install.
Got it. All good. I have nearly 200 lipo batteries at this point, having used them since about 2010. I have an electronics background and try to make things clear in my videos, but sometimes it could be better to understand. I trust you get what I was saying now with the discharge rate between batteries of varying cell counts when all else is equal. Enjoy your foray into ground vehicles. The Rival is a great start, super durae and the RPM arms really help. Also the NB4 is a worthy radio, I use mine for many cars too 😎
hi R T... ' i have good R/C traxxas models and tamiya models... plus my own homemade R/C tonka truck with 12 wheels and model rocket launcher... kyosho blizzard with a long trailer come with 1 or 2 model rocket launchers

That's really a personal choice! Buggy is light and nimble. Monster is big and bouncy. Touring car is the road choice. Try what appeals to you most. Performance doesn't have to the the main factor - it's about fun!
@@RCTNTok,so i just bought a hsp buggy for beginner 6 months ago,after 1 month,i liked this hobby,then i just buy a tamiya tt-02,its already upgraded,now i want a monster truck,im deciding now,should i buy a arrma kraton 8s exb or should i buy a arrma kraton 6s exb and a arrma granite?
I'm about to review a Hobao MTX, which should be on your list, as should the Corally Kagama. I suggest you don't go all the way up to the huge one. It might be been the EXB 6S, Kagama and MTX, all being worthy choices for a high performance MT. I don't yet have an answer but I'll work on that once I've finished the currently planned projects. Much to do! PS. It doesn't have to be obsessive and expensive. The trick is to realise you'll never be satisfied if you're always looking for the latest thing. Find satisfaction in the one/s you have and pursue the best drives rather than the best models. I know that's hard to take from the guy with the shipping container full of rc cars, but paradoxically, having Every Car has helped bring me to this realisation!
I thought the corally for speedster?it's for bashing?I want to tried arrma tho since I never been buying a bigger and expensive RC car.arrma brand is like the thoughest and the cheapest RC car brand.i would buy the arrma kraton 8s but like, the arrma kraton 6s exb is cheap too and if I buy the 6s and arrma granites,I can just buy 2 battery and switch² battery like, one battery for kraton and one battery for granites.i need your opinion tho since you have already tried so many RC car, every brand and every RC car.
To me, looks like 1/10th is the sweet spot for your track, unless you want to sweep all the debris off! I found the same thing when I bought a 144001. The full sized gravel outside my shop was just way too big. Pea gravel or dirt would be best.

Why not? We've done it 3 times on this channel so far with 3 different cars and bashed hard each time with no breakages. But breakages are expected with such treatment - sometimes that's an acceptable cost to pay :)
That it is. Can't get too crazy on this property but when we move I'm planning an actual, proper track. This right here is a place to run stuff but it's a "track" rather than a Track.

Lipos do work like that. Runtime is a function of capacity (mAh) and cell count (S). If you have a 1000mAh 1S Lipo that lasts for 30 minutes under a given load, all else being equal (it isn't, but good enough for theory), a 1000mAh 2S will last 15 minutes and a 1000mAh 3S will last 10 minutes. Of course, electric motors in particular will not increase power draw in a linear manner with voltage increase; you start feeding a motor more volts (S count) and your draw will ramp right up. But generally speaking, more cells means faster discharge at the same rated capacity.
Correct on both counts, agreed. S is cell count (voltage) C is discharge potential mAh is capacity There is a relationship between capacity and cell count, however. These two factors do not exist independently of each other in usage. See the above example of runtime for a 1S, 2S and 3S battery, if all three are rated at 1000mah. The 1S 1000mAh battery will last 3x longer than the 3S 1000mAh. I think this is where your knowable gap is with regards to run time. To use an analogy, the 1000mAh is the capacity of a bucket. One cell (1S) is one hole. 3S is 3 holes. Remember, voltage is electrical pressure, so while the battery may be the same capacity, having higher electrical pressure (or, voltage, or cell count) means it will deliver a lower runtime. The discharge rate is the same from each cell in our 3S battery, but the output is tripled (hence, more speed and power in the motor). The trade off is lower runtime. Hope that starts to make sense! Cheers
Thanks. I have nearly 200 Lipos and have been using this particular chemistry since 2010, including in my own circuit designs for various projects over the years. I'm well familiar with discharge characteristics of various cell counts and sizes. Heavier battery means more mass means worse handling, though you do typically get a greater discharge potential (C rating). 2200 was right for me in this video. You want to run bigger units, go for it. (I actually run 2x 10,000mAh 3S cells in parallel in my SCX6 and it's perfect for 3+ hour runtime). Cheers

1/10 is usually the answer. Unless you like insane power go with 1/8 or 1/5.
It's a good size for general fun, yeah!
Consider these, too:

Thoughtful take as always. So many people get caught up in this brand versus that brand in terms of which RC holds up better to jumping over a house, which completely misses the point of enjoyment during normal use.
Thanks. If it makes you happy it's the right answer, but sometimes a bit of a guide can help you calibrate ideas and expectations! Cheers
For me jumping it over a house is normal use. And buying replacement parts is a normal occurrence.
@emersonb5764 lol yes I'd expect those two things to go together! Nice.
What a down to earth kick ass video you've made. I still always go back to my 2wd brushless rustler. That thing slips and slides, but also jumps and goes fast. and its cheap!
Thanks brother! And you're really selling me on the Rustler too, that sounds pretty much perfect.
Totally agree I love driving in environments exactly what you have in your backyard.. I'm not interested in sending to the moon and destroying my cars much prefer to have a make do track set up and racing around with mates.. My favourite cars are EXB kraton 6S, Muraco and Asuga..
Very nice! I know nothing about those last two cars, though. I'll have to check them out!
@@RCTNT They're team Corally cars. The Muraco is a speed truggy much like the 6S Talion and I can not tell you how awesome that is to drive with Louise Pirate racing truggy wheels/tyres on it I could literally drive it all day..
Great content, helps me actually restart this hobby! 😊 Thanks, subscribed!
Oh good, I'm really glad! Thanks for letting me know 😊
I had a 1/5 Baja converted to electric, was a beast, that chassis is nigh on indestructible, only 4S but friend had 8S and was almost uncontrollable. Mamba system.
Oh sweet. I had an original 5ive-T 8S conversion for a while too. Big fun, but takes a little planning for a run! I have missed it.
@@RCTNT there is a bunch of tards at my local park who run petrol 1/5ths, 1 almost ran my dog down, everyone hates them, they make so much noise and are belligerent towards everyone who uses the park unfortunately.
Puts a real downer on the RC community :/
5ive was way out of my budget.

The weakness of the mt10 and also the Pro4 sc10 are the A-arms. They used to break very often. Changed mine for RPM and its perfekt.

1/10th or bigger
I think everyone knows who your referring to I'm pretty sure a lot feel the same way I've dropped a few of those in my own video's this was a great video Craig I've often had this exact debate over scale and what some people's expectations are very well explained bro 👊
Nice, thank you!
Awesome video! Thank you. Just getting into the hobby
Oh great! Glad it was helpful!
What are you thinking of starting with?
Id say 1/8th for SURE. For begginer or Noob. Mybie if like a child smaller / slower so they dont bust it right away. For a adult even noob sure you will get smaller have fun but in no time you will CRAVE a bigger / faster one for sure. Cant go wrong with a truggy if you get a decent one they are pretty durable for bashing on grass/ gravel all skateparks will bust stuff lol. Plus if you ever want to race you can race with the truggy/ I got a monster truck my first time and I loved it.
Nice. Not a bad argument there, yeah.

You Sir are Amazing!!!!
Aw shucks ☺️
Rival/Granite/Vorteks on 3S
An Arrma 4S on 4S , Kraton/Outcast
Or, a 6S Arrma monster truck on 4S...
I'd love to see you with a Mojave 🥰 See you in the New Year for more adventures 🥳🍻
Funny you say that. I've been looking at the Mojave, UDR and Losi SBR 2.0. I think I've settled on the Losi at this stage.

1/10 ⚖️ imo
It's a good scale, yeah!
@@RCTNT I thought that because of the higher efficiency of higher voltage stuff that it would actually use less mah
Efficiency is a function of the esc, motor, gearing, vehicle mass, etc etc. Higher voltage also tends to mean higher current draw with the same motor, all else being equal.
But all that aside, the number of cells is very much like this:
The battery is a bucket of power.
It would effectively be making the holes in the bucket smaller 😁
It's why they chose to make the Cybertruck 48v
Ah, now that's why I said "all else being equal". Lower throttle is indeed like having a smaller battery, but gives you a higher top end. I don't know that this is technically what you'd call 'efficiency' but it's certainly one of the great things about electric vs gas or whatever else. The potential for range and power, plus a flat torque 'curve', makes electric very interesting for various vehicle applications.
X-maxx all day everyday 👑
Hard to argue with it if you have the space to run it!
1/12 is the smallest I'd get, myself.
I can’t decide on the Xmax or the XRT
My thinking on this is similar to xmaxx vs Kraton:
- XRT if you like fast driving and better cornering and some big air.
- Xmaxx if you want to go to the moon and occasionally turn some corners.
They're both durable and they'll both last. I think it best to base the decision on where you'll be running it most of the time.
And of course I subscribe
🙏👍
a bit confused about your comments concerning S rating having to do with run times."holes in the bucket" S has nothing to do with capacity but with voltage.
Look at it like this:
Bucket = battery
MAh = how full it is
S = how many holes in the bottom
This is why a 2000mAh 2S will last roughly as long as a 3000mAh 3S, assuming the same discharge (C) rating on both and the same load being applied.

@@RCTNT its the c rating for discharge. mah is capacity like i said
@@RCTNT the cells are independant from the mah. its pure capacity. the c rating is discharge and the cell count is just volts
Correct on both counts, agreed.
S is cell count (voltage)
C is discharge potential
mAh is capacity
There is a relationship between capacity and cell count, however.
Cheers
2200 lipo isnt good dude. get a 6000 for a 40 min run. doesnt cos much
Cheers
I won't get anything anymore unless it's. A1/10 just bc the battery size
Fair enough
