Both top trucks for the money. Things to consider with the MT10 though... It's about £50 Cheaper (or more)... it has sway bars, and not sure I heard you mention, or whether you knew...but it has 3 diffs 😉👌.
True the rival does have sway bars, and no i didn't spot it had a center diff, makes it an even better deal. Was super super impressed with the Rival that is for sure - i actually think its the bargain of the year
I've had mine since March took more abuse than anything else in my collection. It's by far the best the in class (out of box durability wise) as far as 3S capable 10th scale MT's go. Surprising for an OEM, tbf, but apparently the Helion was just as good. Not sure AE have 'improved' anything though, I see a slightly different rear wheelie bar design and some stuff annodised in blue. I've set about building a second one with all uprated parts :D
I broke my a arm within the first 15mins of bashing☹️ got rpm’s on there now also my esc unstuck. One of the pins that go through the arms bent, I did land a dodgy back flip though. I do enjoy the truck, but my big rock is much better in my opinion.
I would say the associated by far actual real diffs the arrma plastic diffs garbage they last for a while but once they strip it seems to have nothing but problems after
Rival all the way! I have the V3 Granite BLX and it was fine at the beginning, but the slipper gets problematic with time. From what I've seen, the MT10 is better in every way, including the center diff 👍

Can't get the Rival down under so I'm stuck with my Arrmas ... lucky for me :) I've got those same Granite tyres on my Big Rock making it the best of the BLX 3s range. The Arrma 3s ecosystem is so varied with short and long wheelbase, short and long arms etc it can't be beaten IMO. Thanks for another great Hardcore Video.

That's a shame, but i do know how that feels, lots of cars we see and would like and they never come to the UK. Wise move putting the Granite tires on the Big Rock as those stock tires suck, the better tires really finish the Big rock off in my opinion
I have to say.. I'm impressed it did not break that front skid plate at the bell cranks.. maybe they got the plastics better then when it was a helion.. 👍.. I will have to tell my buddy to buy the TA parts
I was worried after your comments, but it took everything we threw at it, apart from the wheelie bar, but that was a big hot so wont moan about that. Think they likely using better quality plastics now

Thanks - in fairness the Granite isn't stock, it has RPM arms and big bore shocks, Rival was straight out the box. But the granite is super tough stock due to its short chassis and A Arms over the Bog Rock. Your Model shop is missing out not stocking the Rival, show them this video and change their minds 😂
I love my Granite. I did a 1900kv 4S on mine. Same motor and esc as the lasernut. With Hotracing diffs and driveshafts. M2C 17mm hex kit. It's my favorite out all my 10th scales. I really don't run the 10th scales much anymore. Having tons of fun with all my 5th scales at the moment.
Great comparison video. I love my rival mt10. Upgraded the control arms with the RPM made sets. Also upped to aluminum shocks and metal drivelines . Pretty solid all around basher imo.

I bought this and bashed it on 2S. Way too fast! Total blast!The front a-arm snapped. Buy the RPM #72062 arm now before they snap and break the arm and bend the pin. Pins are 3mm x 54mm. Those are backorderd all over the planet. And hose it down with MO94! Way more flexibility!

@@HardcoreRC Yeah it's a beast! a small light basher would be a nice change from a big heavy one.. Picking up tomorrow 2nd hand but they look very nicely maintained compared to others I've seen and the 4x4 slash I got. Tried to get stuff they use at the tracks I went too. Avoided a buggy originally as had that style when a kid but is what most people race, So got a 1/8 Serpent Cobra 2.0 with nice esc, motor and remote that's compatible with Kraton so can ditch the rtr one. Plus parts and a clear body for as much as the kit costs by itself and similar situation with a SCT Losi 1/10 2wd which is common style at the other smaller track down the road. So should be very differnt than current one's :)
I think you have just proven a point for me. The punishment you put that through and it took it. I went about 4ft off the ground and it snapped the Chassis... 😂🤣. Brilliant truck though. The granite is a little more stable than the Rival but for the price it's brilliant.

That was a great comparison. The Rival took some really hard hits over and over. I want a tough 1/10 basher that is easy to work on and has cheap and available parts. Now I don't know which to choose. 🤪 Round 2?
Thanks for the donation that helped to buy this truck 👍 the Rival is seriously good, i haven't had to work on it yet so cant comment on that side, but it looks easy enough to work on, also comes with a center diff vs a slipper clutch. Granite in this video did have some upgrades in RPM arms and big bore shocks, the Rival was right out the box. Have a second video im editing currently checking speeds and also i get to drive it - can it be dad proof 😂
That little truck is like a miniatures Redcat KAIJU. I have a couple of Kaijus with some tweaks that are very tough and durable for my kind of bashing. Great video as usual 👍👍. There's a little dude about my son's age (5 years old) driving around. Hehe. That's awesome 🤣
Yeah these are great truck, cant get the Kaiju over in the UK 😥 yeah we normally have some young kids that come out with their dads as well, so good to see them driving around at such a young age

LOL, yes they are both great bashers and you will be happy with either. It would really come down to price and spare parts availability where you are. In the UK i would edge towards the MT10 more as its still a fair bit cheaper than the Granite, in the USA though they are closer priced so it then just spares and your preference. Durability wise the MT10 is tougher
@HardcoreRC , I'm leaning towards the Granite due to the parts availability. Arrma products are popular in my area so the local hobby shop has a lot of parts for the Arrma vehicles. Prices are very similar. I also like the way the Granite (and apparently most of the Arrma vehicles) is built in modules...seems like they were built with ease of repair and service in mind. @@Captain_Yodelstein Spares availability is a key reason on what car to get, the Granite is a very good car, was the first Arrma we bought and still a firm favourite. Hope you like the channel, been a bit quite on videos currently as real life work has been crazy busy so not getting the time to edit and the weather has been shocking
I did think about it, but the max is way bigger, i dont really class it as a 1/10th, with the wide max kit on its pretty much the same size as the Arrma Notorious. and costs twice as much as a Granite and almost 3 times as much as the Rival 😲 Maxx is a great truck though
We have the New Kraton 4s coming, but the size difference between the new 4s cars and the Rival is huge, the new 4s cars are pretty much the same size as the 1/8th cars.
Durability wise i would have to give it to the MT10, its just tougher over all. Both great cars though and which ever someone buys they will not be disappointed

He does have a distinctive laugh, i can understand a lot about ordering a car will come down to parts availability, nothing worse then having a car you cant fix , had that issue with my Kronos XRT sat on shelf of 6 months as couldn't get the parts
It looks really oddly like a stampede? Things you get with the mt10 for less money: good balanced tires that grip and don't blow apart or come unglued, a center diff, axles that don't blow apart, bigger bearings, aluminum motor mount, threaded shocks that don't blow apart, adjustable turnbuckles, lights, better radio, wheelie bar that doesn't fall off, good steering servo, better handling, aluminum wheel hexes? Anyone wanna buy my stampede so I can buy an mt10? Lol
RPM make arms, and then there's all the left over Helion parts, couple that with AE 'supporting it', this mean you'll be able to get parts for a good time to come but you may also find yourself 'waiting' for stuff as AE take forever sometimes.
Have to live up top our name 😂😂 in the Uk i would say the spares support is better than Arrma or Traxxas currently, for 3rd party support, outside of the RPM A-Arms i really dont see what else it needs. Stock radio does look a bit cheap but had no issues with it, just your run of the mill RTR radio really - certainly better than a Dx2 😂😂

MT10 for me. I think the Granite had a better driver and wasn't subjected to as much damage. Just my observation and absolutely no disrespect for either of the two young men.

Pulling my hair out tring to pick out a 3s truck around $550usd. Redcat mt10e. Or big rock v3 or Traxxas hoss this team associated truck you showing here.. landslide looks nice... want something that can take abuse and also be in the 40-50mph range
Dont have a Redcat or the Hoss, but out of the Bigrock and Rival MT 10 i would recommend the Rival MT10, its more durable, comes with way bars, center diff and lights

From my research the center diff is a selling point for a lot of trucks so is accessibility to upgrade swap replace parts. 🤔 the hoss has all that but is slower than almost any other 3s 1/10 truck trying to find a middle ground any 3s truck you have $550 dont have any other rcs what you buying today? (550 for truck ,battery and charger )
@@miguel360kmc Only real difference between the Bigrock and Granite is the chassis lenght and tires, i prefer the Granite out of those two, mainly as i dont like the stock BigRock tires. Personally as long as spares are available i would get the Rival MT10, its just the best all round package and value. Everyone i know that has one or has tried one swears by them
I would still say the Rival MT10 due to its better durability, center diff, sway bars etc, although will also depend on what parts availability is like where you are

I bought this Rival MT10 after watching this video on Sunday night and it arrived today. After 5mins of use, its making aloud noise when on full lock to the left. Any ideas what it could be. It's brand new so can't imagine it should be making this noise, was fine turning right and driving. Thank you. Keep up the good work 👏
first thing i would check is your end points, make sure when turning to the left the servo isn't straining and trying to pull the steering past when it ends
Im going to be doing a view on that soon, but the Maxx is a lot bigger than both the Granite and Rival, the Maxx is pretty much same size the a Amrra Notorious
Not really as the Big Rock ha a longer wheel base, also in the UK the Rival MT10 is only $375 where as the Big Rock and Granite are $466 The main things though is that the Rival MT is more durable and also comes with a center diff, don't forget the lights as well 😂😂
@@HardcoreRC ok from that point of view you are right. I like Team Associate, I had in a long time ago an TA B4 Stealth 2 WD Buggy for racing on a track, that was nice. The time without all of the amazing brushless power :) Now I want to buy a basher for the city, skatepark etc. (for my little son and me). It should be not too fast but fast enough that I became a little smile and I want tuning parts, I like to change parts to upgrade the rc car. I know it is expensiv and not really needful. The TA MT10 sounds good, but I want to check all altnatives incl. spare parts accessability in my country (Vienna/Austria(Kuhlimuhs)).
@@gweepgweep8729 Yes deffo check for parts availability and price, the TA MT10 is by far the most durable in our view, but the Amrra 3s line are also very good, and were our top 3s basher before we tried the MT10

It sounds good, but a better control of the car is more useful than speed. On youtube i've seen the rc cars rollover every time on high speed. They run allways out of control. More rollover, more coast of spare parts :)
If i was choosing between the two and could only get one - it would be the Rival MT10, love the Granite but cant ignore the price difference, centre diff and lights

Big Rock is similar to the Granite, but just a tad longer and wider, but has shockingly bad stock tires, Big Rock is actually the same as a Typhon apart from the body, hex size and wheels

It does look good on paper, the real test will be when it arrives, if its as good as the MT10 then they are on to a winner, although that is 1/8th scale

Its a tough call, love them both, but think the Rival MT10 pipps it, it comes with sway bars, center diff and light s and is £50 cheaper. I also forgot to mention the Granite has upgrades in RPM arms and big bore shocks, Granit is still a great truck stock though
@@HardcoreRC Theirs plenty of vids on the Kaiju breaking pretty easy, Rcunexttuesday has a Kaiju that they broke to easy a few times. Ask them about their experience with their Kaiju, on the other hand they to loved their Rival MT10 & thought it one of the toughest 1/10 trucks.
@@gillian9178 I did wonder what happened to RCu's Kaiju, saw them run it once and it break, then waiting for parts as cant get in the UK, guess its not bee out since. Rival is a beast, punching way above its price point that is for sure
Not convinced on the Big Rock, hence we turned it into a speed runner. the stock tires just suck so bad on it and no different to a Typhon 3s really. Its a good car but need to change the tires so that adds to overall cost
@@HardcoreRC everybody has there own opinion I believe it's 3s king on durability. And when you guys going get one of those carbon fiber chassis , it's a excellent product check them out I know for a fact you'd be able to get more height and speed on that long jump. You got 80ft to beat 😉

Not in most countries outside the USA. Granite is $492 in the UK vs MT10 at $375 Amain Hobbies in the USA have them both at the same price Also doesnt distract from the simple fact the MT10 is far better, more durable, center diff, lights, metal diffs gears, sway bars to name a few bits

The Rival is brilliant. I love mine. Put some Proline 2.8 Trenchers on it and it turns nasty.

I bought this and bashed it on 2S. Way too fast! Total blast!The front a-arm snapped. Buy the RPM #72062 arm now before they snap and break the arm and bend the pin. Pins are 3mm x 54mm. Those are backorderd all over the planet. And hose it down with MO94! Way more flexibility!

@@HardcoreRC Yes a 3mm drill rod or dowel pin works. I ordered 3mm x 60mm pins. 316 stainless, titanium or any alloy steel will do.

@@HardcoreRC Yeah it's a beast! a small light basher would be a nice change from a big heavy one.. Picking up tomorrow 2nd hand but they look very nicely maintained compared to others I've seen and the 4x4 slash I got. Tried to get stuff they use at the tracks I went too. Avoided a buggy originally as had that style when a kid but is what most people race, So got a 1/8 Serpent Cobra 2.0 with nice esc, motor and remote that's compatible with Kraton so can ditch the rtr one. Plus parts and a clear body for as much as the kit costs by itself and similar situation with a SCT Losi 1/10 2wd which is common style at the other smaller track down the road. So should be very differnt than current one's :)

I think you have just proven a point for me. The punishment you put that through and it took it. I went about 4ft off the ground and it snapped the Chassis... 😂🤣. Brilliant truck though. The granite is a little more stable than the Rival but for the price it's brilliant.

I have both the rival is more durable but the granite is more unhinged for jumps and stunts

Thanks for the donation that helped to buy this truck 👍 the Rival is seriously good, i haven't had to work on it yet so cant comment on that side, but it looks easy enough to work on, also comes with a center diff vs a slipper clutch. Granite in this video did have some upgrades in RPM arms and big bore shocks, the Rival was right out the box.

That little truck is like a miniatures Redcat KAIJU. I have a couple of Kaijus with some tweaks that are very tough and durable for my kind of bashing. Great video as usual 👍👍. There's a little dude about my son's age (5 years old) driving around. Hehe. That's awesome 🤣
Yeah these are great truck, cant get the Kaiju over in the UK 😥 yeah we normally have some young kids that come out with their dads as well, so good to see them driving around at such a young age

LOL, yes they are both great bashers and you will be happy with either. It would really come down to price and spare parts availability where you are. In the UK i would edge towards the MT10 more as its still a fair bit cheaper than the Granite, in the USA though they are closer priced so it then just spares and your preference.
Durability wise the MT10 is tougher
@HardcoreRC , I'm leaning towards the Granite due to the parts availability. Arrma products are popular in my area so the local hobby shop has a lot of parts for the Arrma vehicles. Prices are very similar. I also like the way the Granite (and apparently most of the Arrma vehicles) is built in modules...seems like they were built with ease of repair and service in mind.

I did think about it, but the max is way bigger, i dont really class it as a 1/10th, with the wide max kit on its pretty much the same size as the Arrma Notorious. and costs twice as much as a Granite and almost 3 times as much as the Rival 😲 Maxx is a great truck though

For a future video a comparison between outcast 1/10 4S and the rival MT10 on 3S might be interesting.
We have the New Kraton 4s coming, but the size difference between the new 4s cars and the Rival is huge, the new 4s cars are pretty much the same size as the 1/8th cars.

Durability wise i would have to give it to the MT10, its just tougher over all. Both great cars though and which ever someone buys they will not be disappointed

It looks really oddly like a stampede? Things you get with the mt10 for less money: good balanced tires that grip and don't blow apart or come unglued, a center diff, axles that don't blow apart, bigger bearings, aluminum motor mount, threaded shocks that don't blow apart, adjustable turnbuckles, lights, better radio, wheelie bar that doesn't fall off, good steering servo, better handling, aluminum wheel hexes? Anyone wanna buy my stampede so I can buy an mt10? Lol
You pretty much nailed it, not sure why the Stampede costs as much as it does
We are hardcore. You guys lived up to that. Aftermarket support for the Rival is poor and the stock radio seems pretty cheap which put me off.
RPM make arms, and then there's all the left over Helion parts, couple that with AE 'supporting it', this mean you'll be able to get parts for a good time to come but you may also find yourself 'waiting' for stuff as AE take forever sometimes.
Have to live up top our name 😂😂 in the Uk i would say the spares support is better than Arrma or Traxxas currently, for 3rd party support, outside of the RPM A-Arms i really dont see what else it needs. Stock radio does look a bit cheap but had no issues with it, just your run of the mill RTR radio really - certainly better than a Dx2 😂😂

Pulling my hair out tring to pick out a 3s truck around $550usd. Redcat mt10e. Or big rock v3 or Traxxas hoss this team associated truck you showing here.. landslide looks nice... want something that can take abuse and also be in the 40-50mph range
Dont have a Redcat or the Hoss, but out of the Bigrock and Rival MT 10 i would recommend the Rival MT10, its more durable, comes with way bars, center diff and lights

From my research the center diff is a selling point for a lot of trucks so is accessibility to upgrade swap replace parts. 🤔 the hoss has all that but is slower than almost any other 3s 1/10 truck trying to find a middle ground any 3s truck you have $550 dont have any other rcs what you buying today?

@@miguel360kmc Only real difference between the Bigrock and Granite is the chassis lenght and tires, i prefer the Granite out of those two, mainly as i dont like the stock BigRock tires.
Personally as long as spares are available i would get the Rival MT10, its just the best all round package and value. Everyone i know that has one or has tried one swears by them

I bought this Rival MT10 after watching this video on Sunday night and it arrived today. After 5mins of use, its making aloud noise when on full lock to the left. Any ideas what it could be. It's brand new so can't imagine it should be making this noise, was fine turning right and driving. Thank you. Keep up the good work 👏
first thing i would check is your end points, make sure when turning to the left the servo isn't straining and trying to pull the steering past when it ends

Dont have a Rustler so don't know what they are like, but in all honesty nothing really beats the Rival MT10 for durability in the 1/10th scale size

They came stock 4s but the truck can easily handle 6s, just esx and motor swap
It the ARRMA BIG ROCK 4X4 V3 not better to challenge with the MT10? That is the same price range.
Not really as the Big Rock ha a longer wheel base, also in the UK the Rival MT10 is only $375 where as the Big Rock and Granite are $466
The main things though is that the Rival MT is more durable and also comes with a center diff, don't forget the lights as well 😂😂

Now I want to buy a basher for the city, skatepark etc. (for my little son and me). It should be not too fast but fast enough that I became a little smile and I want tuning parts, I like to change parts to upgrade the rc car. I know it is expensiv and not really needful.
The TA MT10 sounds good, but I want to check all altnatives incl. spare parts accessability in my country (Vienna/Austria(Kuhlimuhs)).
@@gweepgweep8729 Yes deffo check for parts availability and price, the TA MT10 is by far the most durable in our view, but the Amrra 3s line are also very good, and were our top 3s basher before we tried the MT10

@@HardcoreRC Thank you for your tips. I will check it out. I also look at the Arrma Vortex, but I'm not sure if it is really good to have so much speed. It sounds good, but a better control of the car is more useful than speed. On youtube i've seen the rc cars rollover every time on high speed. They run allways out of control. More rollover, more coast of spare parts :)
What if you hard break then reverse while trying the double front flip?
That's what the boys were trying, double front is not easy, especially in such wet weather
I dont own any arrma or team associated rc's but I would spend the extra and get the granite.
If i was choosing between the two and could only get one - it would be the Rival MT10, love the Granite but cant ignore the price difference, centre diff and lights

what 'c' rating 3s battery would be good for the MT10?
To be honest most C ratings on Lipos are just a total lie, that being said i would suggest making sure they have at least 50c printed on the lipo

How is the big rock related to these 2?
Big Rock is similar to the Granite, but just a tad longer and wider, but has shockingly bad stock tires, Big Rock is actually the same as a Typhon apart from the body, hex size and wheels

@@seanlawrence972 My suggestion would be to start with a good 1/10th scale and get used to driving and jumping it with the air control, then step up to a 1/8th scale 6s car.

It does look good on paper, the real test will be when it arrives, if its as good as the MT10 then they are on to a winner, although that is 1/8th scale

@@HardcoreRC Theirs plenty of vids on the Kaiju breaking pretty easy, Rcunexttuesday has a Kaiju that they broke to easy a few times. Ask them about their experience with their Kaiju, on the other hand they to loved their Rival MT10 & thought it one of the toughest 1/10 trucks.

Big Rock is King 👑
Not convinced on the Big Rock, hence we turned it into a speed runner. the stock tires just suck so bad on it and no different to a Typhon 3s really. Its a good car but need to change the tires so that adds to overall cost
@@HardcoreRC everybody has there own opinion I believe it's 3s king on durability. And when you guys going get one of those carbon fiber chassis , it's a excellent product check them out I know for a fact you'd be able to get more height and speed on that long jump. You got 80ft to beat 😉
