Big Rock was our first proper RC and other than Granite tyres and 6S shocks, it’s still fairly stock……and brilliant. It’s fast, jumps well, backflips, goes over any terrain. I bought my daughter a vorteks and in addition to being considerably more expensive than the BR ,with an AVC system that is basically useless, it has cost more to make it as capable. Now that I’ve widened it with TYyphon/Big Rock arms and turnbuckles, upgraded the shocks to 6S and stuck granite wheels on it…..and replaced the electronics (don’t even get me started on the LVC issues with the new firma100a etc), it’s finally there. But for anyone thinking about a vorteks for Xmas and expecting it to be an awesome off road basher out of the box, STOP ! Buy a Big Rock, Granite or Typhon instead.
Hi there. Ah that is useful info about the Vorteks. I didn't want to get into too much detail on this vid but I was thinking that the AVC is pointless on these. Also the smart battery thing. Didn't know about the LVC issue. It's a shame that they don't sell these as a rolling chassis so we could put Hobbywing or similar in. The Vorteks did look good on the runway but it's not what I'm doing generally. Many thanks for your great feedback. Hopefully helpful for people 😁
I've read about alot of issues with the vorteks, but mine has been a tank. Only problem is a wheel popping off. Thread locked them and haven't had a problem since, and I'm kind of rough on it. I figured I'll just keep it stock until things start to break then I'll upgrade.
@@youtubetrollking1880 sounds like a good plan. Just remember that if you want to put bigger, more “off-roady” wheels on it, you gotta widen it first, otherwise the wheels will rub the body.
I just got a Big Rock in the mail and haven't even taken it out yet. I have heard a couple videos mention Granite tires on it, would you mind telling me the advantage? Looks like a fun truck, can't wait to drive it hard and do some upgrades
I have the Big Rock 3S and I have built an epic little Mini-Truggy out of it by adding the wider Granite Tires, adding a wing, and stiffening the shock oil just a tad to resist rolling just a tad more. It is an epic all-rounder just like its bigger brother Kraton.
Yeah that sounds really good and similar to what I've done with my BigRock although I've not put a wing on mine as yet. Many thanks indeed for your great feedback. Much appreciated 😁
had both the typhon 3s and the granite 3s sold the typhon kept the granite 3s. Only mods I did were widen it by adding typhon a arms the rpm ones and typhon turnbuckles. Also a fan for the motor. The granite is an absolute beast it is my go to r.c. and I own quite a few!
Hi there. Yeah I think that the Granite is the most fun. I haven't tried widening it yet. I could steal the long arms from the Big Rock to give it a try. Many thanks for your great feedback. Best wishes to you 😁
I run a typhon 3s with a dust cover mainly to keep the stones out of the chassis. Works a treat at keeping wet leaves and such mostly out... combine that with the mudguards and you'll be set!
Hi. Yeah that does sound like a good idea for these. It's mainly the Senton that suffers from getting the dirt in. Many thanks for your helpful feedback 😁
I agree. The dust cover would be a good investment. The chassis is like a dust pan and collects all kinds of junk. I mainly have problems with the servo linkage getting bound up with sticks and rocks.
Great comparison. 👍🏻 I love the 3s line. I have the Big Rock and Typhon. Both are fun but the Big Rock feels really quick, like it’s going to lose control and is up for anything. That’s what makes it the most fun for me. I’m looking to get the Senton for my son soon. I think this is a great line for affordable, fast and fun bashers.
Hi there. Yes indeed this is a great line up of bashers which is why I ended up with 4 of them. What I like is that they are easy to work on. Also the drive shafts don't seem to fail like dog bone style ones. Like the Granite as I was saying in the video but I guess it's all down to taste. Many thanks for your great feedback and thanks for watching the video 😁
Hi there. Yeah these are great fun. The 6s cars are really good but I think you need a bigger area to run them. I'd go with the Granite as mentioned in the video. Many thanks for watching and commenting. Much appreciated 😁
Nice review. Thanks for sharing and covering the details. I like how you outfitted the Typhon with a Senton front bumper. It also looks like you fabricated an aluminum brace for your front shock tower. Awesome! 👍👍
Hi there. Oh yes I'm never keen on those buggy bumpers that offer very little protection. It's great that you can mix and match parts on these. Yeah the shock towers do break if you do big jumps that go badly and the little brace I made does stop that happening. Many thanks indeed for watching and your kind feedback 😁👍
@@PeteWylieRC I have a 3s Typhon and 3s Granite and they both have many parts that are interchangeable. I think the brace on the shock tower is a great idea. 👍👍
That was really nice and useful, not that I'm just about to buy an Arrma, ha ha! I did consider the buggy, but went with a Kyosho instead, but I do love watching that Typhon in action, it must be my favourite.
Hi there. Ooh so which Kyosho did you get? I've only got the Mad Van so far which is cool. I really like some of the vintage ones that they re-released. The Arrma 3s cars are really good for bashing about in a way that I can't get away with when driving my Tamiyas. Many thanks for watching and your great comments. Much appreciated 😁
Personally I think all these make great bashers for sure, Depending what you are looking for. I think you can find it at Arrma. Great comparison Pete. Thanks for sharing brother
Hiya Nick. Yeah these are definitely fun and reliable bashers. Thought it was worth showing where these perform best. Many thanks for watching my friend. I hope all is well with you 😃
@@PeteWylieRC Doing good here. Still getting a few scale runs in while doing a little "rc drifting" practice. Yup bought myself a drifter. Definitely a different experience. Enjoy the rest of the weekend
Hi there. Yeah it doesn't look like sleepy Bournemouth by the orange rocks. Looks more like Mars. It's a great little spot for testing the RC's. Many thanks for watching and your great feedback 😁
@@PeteWylieRC you do have some nice places around you, from watching your channel and some of the other guys channels I have got to see some really beautiful places that I never knew existed here in the UK and abroad, I think I need to venture out of Cornwall more often ! I did enjoy the countryside around Alton in the half term but pretty much just went to the park and didn’t really explore, I need to take an RC with me on the next holiday !!
Hi there. Well people would quite often ask me which one they should get and it's quite a complicated reply which I thought needed a video to explain. Great range of basher cars these. I was just having a look over at your channel and you seem to be into flying RC's. Are you also into cars?
@@PeteWylieRC I started with rc cars nitro powered when I was 14 but once I got airborne with a rc plane everything changed LOL. Lately I been thinking about getting a RC car again just trying to figure out parts and upgrades and what type of car could be do able for my environment Pete??
@@3DMOFO2020 Ah right. I had the electric Tamiya cars in my youth and then got back into it in about 2012 after a gap of about 25 years. Are you thinking of a tough basher like the Arrma's?
Great video of the Arrma 3s line. You did a great job upgrading the Typon. I'm just starting out in the hobby and have a 2s granite upgraded to 3s and a 3s Typhon and I really like them. Your video was quite helpful in learning about some of the other Arrma products and parts compatibility. Thanks for sharing all this great footage. 💯👍
Hi there. I did the video because people would ask which one to get and it's not a straightforward answer as hopefully the video shows. I really like the ease of maintenance and how tough these things are. I have driven the 6s cars but to be honest these 3s ones are plenty quick enough. Many thanks indeed for watching and your great feedback. Much appreciated 😁
Until last year, I hadn’t touched an rc car since 1998. Needless to say they’ve come a LONGGG WAY with brushless motors and lithium batteries! My first purchase into the modern RC world was the Vorteks. I didn’t know much about it other than I liked how it looked and it said it went 60mph. In hindsight I dont regret my decision. The extra electronics are worth it to me. It’s nice being able to turn on the traction control before you hand over the controller to someone who isn’t experienced with RC cars. It’s also nice for speed runs, knowing you can just pull the trigger 100% and it will drive in a straight line the whole way. Its wheel base and ride height allow it to go over some decent terrain vs something like the Typhon. Highly recommended if you have $400 to drop on an RC car!
Hi there. Yeah things have moved on a lot in terms of durability and speed. The Vorteks does look good and I nearly bought one but as I already owned the other 4 I decided not to. It's a shame that they don't make roller versions of these so you could choose your own electronics. Anyway a great range of RC's. Many thanks for watching and your comments 😁
Hay Pete. Nice review and some good info for anyone looking to buy one or more of these beasts. Hope all is well and you're having a great Sunday matey.
Hiya Rob. Yeah hopefully helpful for someone. Probably not for you and Mark as not from our favourite manufacturer with the red and blue stars 😂 Thanks for watching matey. Best wishes to you 😁
Hiya matey! Very enjoyable video, seeing all those cars hooning around, back-to-back. Cool of Phil to let you use the footage, it completed your review nicely! From watching this I'd go with your recommendation for the best fun basher. Hope all is good with you. I'm having a quiet night, been feeling a bit ropey again at work today. The good thing is I have a couple of new kits, so might see if Rob is up to an unboxing or two on Sunday. Take care, enjoy a few beers and speak soon. Cheers! :O)
Hiya matey. Yeah I think that in general I prefer the shorter wheelbase cars like the Tamiya DT-02 Vs the DT-03. They are just a bit more mad. Anyway this was a video I'd been meaning to do for ages but I knew that it would be a big edit session so I've been putting it off. I think I'm going to do a video once every 2 weeks for a bit as it just takes a big chunk of spare time that I could be using to tinker with the cars. Just watched the TD4 unboxing with you and Rob that was very entertaining. Are you going to do your own one or was that for both of you? Looks like a great kit. Sorry to hear that you are feeling ropey again. Take it easy and hopefully you'll be ok soon. Cheers for your great feedback as ever. Enjoy your weekend 😁
@@PeteWylieRC Hi mate, glad you got to making this video, hope it does well for you. I think I will do an unbox of the TD4, but concentrate on the chat and whizz through the kit, I have a lot to say about it! Cheers for the well wishes, all the best, my good friend.
@@MarkBryanRC I'll be interested to hear what you've got to say about it. I like the design of the TD2 one. Quite expensive for a 2wd buggy but I'm sure it's a great kit. Cheers mate 😁
Just getting into arrma with a mojave & a vorteks. With proper shock tower bracing chassis slap over big jumps is preferred/necessary m2c makes great parts for them, enjoyed the info thx!
Great video. I'm newbie to RCs so thinking of big rock rather than granite as it looks easier to control. Plan to do general off road bashing maybe bit of BMX track or skate park. Would people agree?
Hi there. Well the Big Rock does fall over its tyres a bit in the corners like I was saying in the video. I've now got Granite tyres on my Big Rock which is good and probably more stable now than the Granite. I just like the wild nature of the Granite. If you do get any of these I'd recommend looking at my Big Rock unboxing video because it outlines the mods and checks I've done on these. Thanks for watching 🙂
I think the Typhon is great for beginners, and yeah.. with a front grill it's more durable. The Senton 3S BLX is what I have, and it was a blast running it around a football field. I've never RC'ed anything so fast, and at the time it was $220 with a $50 off promo code. I kinda wish I had bought more... the Senton gets dirty very fast, I think the biggest problem with it :( Maybe next time I'll pick up the Granite for jumps. When you said you shortened the shocks, how did you do that? :o
Hi there. That was a good deal you got on the Senton. These things are getting pretty expensive now unfortunately. Did you see the inner fenders I got to help with the dirt. To shorten the shocks you need some little plastic tubes to go inside the shock on the shaft under the piston top. I had the ones from a Tamiya kit which are designed for that very purpose. I used ones that were about 4mm I think. Doesn't sound like much but it did make quite a difference. Many thanks for watching the vid and commenting 😁
Hi there. Yeah I've been meaning to do this video since ages ago when you were also getting all the Arrma cars. Never seem to have enough time so only just got round to it. Anyway, many thanks for watching and commenting. I hope that all is well. I need to get over to your channel to see what you've been up to 😃
@@PeteWylieRC yeah you did an awesome job as usual, it takes a lot of work to do all those separate videos for each Rc and combine them all into one, I remember that being the most time consuming video I ever made on my channel lol, it was worth it though, you really have a talent for getting those perfect shots of the Rc’s in action! Yeah swing by the channel when you get a chance, I’ve been all over the place from the Vendetta and infraction, the RedCat 64, o I’m even driving nitro now lol
Such splendid work, Pete. Really … I think after watching this I’m more excited about your ability to plan and edit these reviews than the Arrmas 😊 Sorry. I know. It’s nerdy. But yeah good review. Great info and comparison. I would have expected your favorite to be the Big Rock. But many seems to be excited about the Granite for bashing and stunts. So, any plans for trying out one of the 6S models next year?
Hiya Mikael. Yeah to be honest I had bigger plans for this video but I kept putting it off because I couldn't face the edit session. In the end I thought that I ought to get something done as I'd got all the footage I needed. Could have done more but it turned out ok so many thanks for your kind comments. Not sure if you saw but I did try my friend's 6s Kraton and did a video about it compared to the 3s Big Rock. I think I will stick to the 3s cars as those 6s cars are a bit heavy and beastly. I forgot to ask how you are health wise with the virus. Hope you and yours are ok mate :-)
@@PeteWylieRC hi Pete. Well, I think the video turned out very informative and splendid 😊 Uhh, either I missed out on that or forgot it. Must try to find it. I think the 6S Typhon would be great for your grass/golf course. Not as beastly as the Kraton. But yeah, probably too heavy and clumsy for the dirt and red stone locations. All is good here. We’re through the virus and symptoms. It was not a problem, apart from the isolation, since we’re vaccinated. But severe social restrictions for the whole country coming from the prime minister probably this evening.
Glad that you are all through with the virus and ok. I think that more restrictions might be on the way everywhere before too long. Just when you think that we are on top of this thing there is a new version. Best wishes to you and yours mate.
Senton is definitely fun to see go 50+ runs. takes a lot of hits and if you want speed basically anywhere. the Senton has IT. I'm going to kit it with a wide suspension kit from the Talion and bigger tires. try a Truggy setup like the XMAXX wide. 3s has loads of fun I feel if you go over 40 mph and crash you are breaking and bending things every time. Arrma does have the 50,75 ,100% on the remote.
Hi there. Yeah it's good to make hybrid versions of these as the parts are interchangeable. I've had a lot of fun with these and not too many breaks. Many thanks for your great feedback :-)
Hi. I must say that the Vendetta looks very cool but there are far more places to run the off-road cars so I didn't get it. Many thanks indeed for watching and your feedback 😁👍
In my opinion your gonna have more fun with the big rock or the senton. Currently I have the big rock with a bunch of upgrades and because the wheel base is so wide it’s pretty stable when compared to the granite. Though realistically they are all around the same price so it just comes down to preference.
Hi there. I do like all of these cars in different situations and still run them all regularly. The Granite is just a little bit mad which is why I like it the most but it's just down to personal preference like you say. Many thanks indeed for your great feedback. Much appreciated :-)
@@mygg15 yeah man 3s is always better for stunts. Currently I’m running a 4s system on a big rock, so I get huge air time and high speeds. But 3s still gets around 45+ mph, and some sick stunts.
@@PeteWylieRC so in your opinion is it a good idea to get double pack 2s smart batteries for the granite as a beginner who also wants to let a young kid learn to drive on it, and then maybe upgrade later to 2s? Or buy 3 s and use 50%/75%mode until it gets boring, if it gets boring?
Ah cool 👍 Yeah these all have good points and still the best bashers for this kind of money I think. Many thanks for your great feedback. Much appreciated 😁👍
Hi Pete, hope you’re keeping well. A great review of the Arrma range and personal view. The Granite it is then! I’ve been having a great time with my Typhon, although I think I’m going to have a go of upgrading it. I love how I am able to just pop in a battery, and it will go and do everything that me (aka jer jer jiggle it man) can throw at it! Mind you, it is still on 550 brushed, so we’ll see if that changes, when I get time to upgrade it to a brushless setup😂😉😊 I’ll probably break it 😉. Take care, keep well and all the best to you and the family 😊😉
Hiya John. Oh yeah you need to experience these on 3s as they are a bit wild. Haven't broken the Typhon apart from the rear wing which is cracked. Did you say that you'd already investigated possible motor ESC combos? Anyway many thanks for your great comments as ever. Hope you are well. Best wishes to you and yours 😁
@@PeteWylieRC hi Pete, lovely to hear from you. I’m taking advice from you on possible upgrade to the Arrma, I’m looking at the Absima range, now I know the buggy is 1/8th scale, but I was thinking that as the existing 550 style motor has the same 3.175 shaft and pinion, whether the Absima Brushless Thrust Eco set would work in the Arrma? I know that you use these sets in a few of your 1/10th models and found them to be reliable, and from a value and quality point of view, they look quite good. I’m also looking at the Surpass sets, they are imported by Spire Model Distribution, the same importer for the Carisma Scale Adventurer models. I thinking of waiting to see if there are any New Year sales, maybe lucky.😉 take care, keep well and all the best. 😊😉😂
@@JF-RC Hiya John. I think that the Absima would be fine if you were sticking with 2s batteries. It does say that it's ok for 3s but it's only 60 amps and the ones in the 3s range are 100 amps which I think you do need for the size and weight. If you want to go 3s then I'd either go for the stock Arrma/Spektrum ones or the Hobbywing MAX10 SCT ESC Combo With 3660Sl 3200Kv Brushless Motor. The Hobbywing set is 120 amp I think. The Hobbywing one is what I have in my Yeti and it's reliable. Some of my Arrma ones have had faults. These do have a 5mm shaft so you need the 15t pinion from the 3s range AR6310424. Obviously more expensive to go 3s but that's what I'd do. 2s would still be a decent upgrade on what you have. Let me know if you need further info :-)
@@PeteWylieRC hi Pete, as always, my guru! I’ll go and checkout the HobbyWing range. Perhaps, the 3s might be worth that initial expense, as I can grow into the speed performance in stages, I’ll probably have to turn the transmitter setting down to slower % to ease my old reflexes in 😂😊😉. Great advice, always graciously received and listened to. Thank you. As always, take care, enjoy a nice selective beer later, 😊😉
I have the brushed arrma mega. 4x4 took out the brushed electronics and put in the same brushless system that comes with the blxversion and saved 100&75dollars or more it's a beast arrma motha fing tough
Hi there. Yeah that sounds great. There are a fair few differences between the Mega cars and the 3s cars in terms of the drivetrain. The 3s has got chunkier gears and a beefier clutch. Also adjustable turnbuckles on the 3s. Other than that yes they are very strong cars. Many thanks for your feedback 😁👍
hi pete, my senton with granite tyres is so fast and strong.... it wants to wheelie at 40mph... of course i had to modify the body to fit the wheels.. the best all in one car you could want on 3s..
Hi there. Yeah I had my Senton with Granite tyres and a Big Rock body for a while and it was great. I changed it back to a Senton after I bought the Big Rock. Many thanks for your comments and watching the video 😁
Hi there. I'd need to go back and look at the video I did about it. I think it was 600cst in the front and 1000cst in the back which is about 45wt and 80wt. Can't remember but it's something like that. I've got those metal shocks so it might be a bit different in the original Arrma shocks. Defo worth getting 600 or 800cst oil and experimenting. Thanks for watching 😀
i had my heart set on a big rock, then a senton, but they were too expensive >:( so im getting a granite my only other rc cars have been wltoys 144001 - totaled it on a curb - chassis, shock towers and driveshafts were bent and the diffs were done and the servo died hbx rampage - i reccomend as a first (kinda) hobby grade rc car and a 1/16 e revo - diffs kept dying >:( so this time im not cheaping out on my vehicle! wish me luck pls
Hi there. Thanks for your comments. These are strong but will still break if you run them into something solid at speed. Best to find an area without kerbs and other solid concrete things. You might be interested in the upgrades I did which are all mentioned on the Big Rock unboxing video. Other than that, have fun 😁
Hi there. Yeah me too and I'd say that the Big Rock with Granite tyres is the best all round RC that I have. Granite still best for back flips. Many thanks indeed for your great feedback 😁👍
I bought the vorteks boost and added a spektrum 120A 2,400kv motor making it 4s compatible and its cool but ended up getting now a granite boost and im liking the granite more now for offroad use but for street use the Vorteks does very good. Still need to modify the granite though. So for me the granite is the best 3s.
Hi there. Oh that's interesting that you got the Boost version and upgraded it to 4s. Did you upgrade the gears and slipper too as the 3s ones are more chunky than the Boost version. Yeah the Granite is such mad fun. I still don't own a Vorteks but might be interested if one came up second hand. Many thanks for your great feedback. Much appreciated 😁👍
@@PeteWylieRC Yea I did change the spur gear to a clutch deleting gear 0.8M 32 Pitch 50T with a 16T pinion gear as well as an aluminum motor mount for extra strength as the Boost plastic mount isn't up to the task imo lol but yea so far I haven't GPS the top speed but this week I will be doing that. I could've stuck with the stock gearing as well but seeing how it has a plastic gear and its a 48 Pitch so the teeth are way smaller and I'm almost certain they wouldn't last very long on 4s. Btw Thanks for your reply.
@@PeteWylieRC Oh and I'm also going to be installing a Mojave 4s center Diff in the near future. Seeing a couple of videos on how to do the install and it seems pretty straight forward.

Ah cool. I wonder how the 6s Typhon compares. I had a go on that 6s Kraton which was a beast. I do think that the Granite is the most fun but it depends what you like as I was saying in the video. Many thanks for watching. Your support is much appreciated as ever 😁
Oh yeah I've not tried widening the Granite. Might be interesting although I have broken the arms on the Big Rock a couple of times so I think that the shorter ones are more tough and reliable. Cheers for the feedback :-)
Fella got the ftx tracer on 3s stock electrics now a gn3 3s,but all ballraced metal like terminator on 1/12 wheels tires so fast for/16 scale.still want your cap lol.
That must be a bit crazy on 3s! These Arrma cars are quick on 3s and they are quite a bit bigger. Many thanks for watching the vid and your comments. Much appreciated 😁
Hi. Yes I did but from memory the front shocks need less shortening because they attach nearer the middle of the suspension arm as opposed to the rear where it attaches nearer the wheel. It was maybe 5mm at the back and 3mm at the front but I'm not sure. The best thing to do is to measure the shocks at full stretch and then compress the suspension to where you want the maximum extent to be and measure again so you know how much to shorten the shocks. If you are really stuck I can check how long my shocks are now.
Oh I mention that the Granite is my favourite because I like the mad driving and backflips etc. Not so good if you wanted to race around a circuit though so it depends what type of driving you have planned. Many thanks for watching 😁👍

Hi there. Yeah I'd have thought it was ok if the motor isn't getting too hot. I tend to stick with the 15t as it seems quick enough for me. Thanks for watching 😁
You’re quite rough with the cars and appears you’re landing on throttle. Mine are quite delicate. Are you running metal diffs? How are you keeping your motor mount from bending with all those rough landings? I’ve gone through at least three.
Hi. I haven't changed the motor mounts or diffs yet. Maybe I got lucky. The Typhon I bought second hand from a friend and that has a bent motor plate but he's a bit harsher on them than me. I hammered it flat and been ok since.
i think the senton looks the coolest but i've always wanted to convert mine to a big rock just cause the senton is a nightmare to keep clean. recommend the typhon 3s as a first rc though its such a good all rounder for all types of terrain - stable on road at high speed, handles nicely on loose dirt and grass and its really balanced through the air.
Yeah I like my Senton more since I put the inner fenders in but even then I mainly just run it in the summer. I think my current favourite is the Big Rock with Granite tyres. All good in different ways. Many thanks for your great feedback 😁👍👍
Well yeah I'd say the same with the Senton before I lowered it and put the inner fenders on and now it's the best for blasting around on the grass like a rally car. Many thanks for your great feedback 😁
everyone says the big rock is a good truck. i guess a got a lemon cause i spent more time fixing the truck than driving it. i even replace the spur gear to a metal and still not driving it
if you're thinking about a Senton, don't do it. I got one cuz despite the other cars doing everything better, I loved how it looked. MISTAKE. The shell collects and throws EVERYTHING from the tires up and into the motor and drivetrain. It collects dirt and debris into its vital parts literally 20 times more than my Granite. It constantly stops steering because debris gets caught in the steering arms, and the bearings and screws RUST like crazy unless you disassemble it and rebuild it. And the other RCs do everything better. Don't make the same mistake as me.
Hi there. Yes the mud getting in the Senton is a problem. I only use mine in the summer now and I've got those inner mud guards which certainly help. Many thanks for your helpful feedback 😃👍
Hi there. I think I mentioned it at the start. Road cars are not so much my thing so I didn't buy that one. Many thanks for watching the video and commenting 😁
Vorteks it is for christmas, Pete Wylie RC Videos, can you please send me a ebay link of a cheap charger, as the one I am going to buy the seller is not including a charger for the 3s lipos :'(
That sounds good. You need to do some research on chargers as I got mine years ago and I haven't kept up with the latest ones. I've got a couple of B6AC ones. You can get ones now that do 2 or more batts at once. Don't necessarily get the cheapest possible. Also make sure it is one that has a mode to put the batteries into storage. I'm assuming you know not to leave lipo batteries fully charged?
I agree. I think the Vortex still needs some refinement to be a good stadium truck. Maybe the next version.
Many thanks for your great feedback and thanks for watching the video 😁
really like the look of the 3s line, got a few 3s batteries for my 6s trucks, i think come the new year i'm going to have to pick one up!
Great to get your opinion and thoughts on these 3s cars, super comparison 👍
Yeah hopefully this is helpful to someone. Many thanks for watching and commenting. Much appreciated 😁

Mega motors buddy, love that orange rock spot, expecting to see a cactus and rattlesnake there !!
I’ve had a vorteks about 2 years. I hadn’t driven rc for over a decade. Very fast and fun
Yeah I would like to get a Vorteks to add to my 3s collection. Does look like good fun. Many thanks for your great feedback :-)
Stock the granite is the buy. A Senton with some body mods and badlands kicks a$$. I love both.
Hi there. Yeah I'd say so. Also the Typhon is much more of a basher than I was expecting. Many thanks for watching and your great feedback 😁
Id like a Typhon that wasn't set to haul so much ass but be snappy and responsive for the rc park.
A very well done job Pete on talking about these off road cars!
@@PeteWylieRC Maybe or maybe a Tamiya rally car or mini cooper??
@@PeteWylieRC Yes they are easy to work on. I think I baby mine too much and just need to get out enjoy them more.
Hi there. Sounds great. I have driven my friends Mojave and it's a nice bit of kit. Many thanks for your feedback 😁
Get the typhon for ultimate handling bro

Awesome video my rc friend, great trucks, great compariso 👍💪😀
Hi there. Thanks for your great feedback. Much appreciated 😁
I have the big rock the typhon and the vendetta. Pretty great mix of 3s line up
Is the granite mad only on 3s or maybe also hard to control on 2s?
It is certainly more mad on 3s. It's still fun on 2s but a bit more controllable. Many thanks for watching 😁👍
Awesome topic! Thanks for covering this!
Many thanks for your kind feedback. Much appreciated 😁

Nice share, stay connected, good luck further!👍

Hi Pete what shock oil do you use front and rear in your big rock I know it comes with 40 but feels a little bouncy in the front

@@PeteWylieRC Yea I did change the spur gear to a clutch deleting gear 0.8M 32 Pitch 50T with a 16T pinion gear as well as an aluminum motor mount for extra strength as the Boost plastic mount isn't up to the task imo lol but yea so far I haven't GPS the top speed but this week I will be doing that. cool video and comparisons, awesome rc's
Hi there. Many thanks indeed. Much appreciated 😁
Did you shorten the shock travel on all 4 corners of your Senton? Thanks 🙏
I must have missed it but I didn't see which one you rated as your favorite? Which one do you like best?
Oh I mention that the Granite is my favourite because I like the mad driving and backflips etc. Not so good if you wanted to race around a circuit though so it depends what type of driving you have planned. Many thanks for watching 😁👍

@@PeteWylieRC Wow, impressive. Wish mine was the case.
i think the senton looks the coolest but i've always wanted to convert mine to a big rock just cause the senton is a nightmare to keep clean. recommend the typhon 3s as a first rc though its such a good all rounder for all types of terrain - stable on road at high speed, handles nicely on loose dirt and grass and its really balanced through the air.
Yeah I like my Senton more since I put the inner fenders in but even then I mainly just run it in the summer. I think my current favourite is the Big Rock with Granite tyres. All good in different ways. Many thanks for your great feedback 😁👍👍
The senton is easily my least favorite, the Vorteks has been amazing, think the Big Rock is next for me!! Armma 4 life!
Well yeah I'd say the same with the Senton before I lowered it and put the inner fenders on and now it's the best for blasting around on the grass like a rally car. Many thanks for your great feedback 😁
everyone says the big rock is a good truck. i guess a got a lemon cause i spent more time fixing the truck than driving it. i even replace the spur gear to a metal and still not driving it
Yes that's a shame as these haven't been much trouble for me and are great fun to drive. Many thanks for your feedback.
if you're thinking about a Senton, don't do it.
I know name from somewhere?
Hi there. Do you mean my name? There was a Singer in the 80's called Pete Wylie. Wasn't me I'm afraid 😂
Me watching this as my road tire sentons servo broke after 10 runs
Oh dear that's not good. I did upgrade the servos on all mine for the JX Ecoboost ones and they have been great. Thanks for watching 😁👍
Keep a senton out of grass will burn motor up stay in street and dirt ,grass is expecting to much performance so motor will give b4 grass will
Yeah I think long grass is a problem but I only run on very short grass and it's fine. Many thanks for you great feedback :-)
You forgot vendetta.
@@PeteWylieRC hi I am looking at the Imax B6 Charger, I am watching a video about the charger now, if i have any issues I will ask you.
