    My son has had a big rock for over 3 years and it has been really durable and versatile. I replaced one hub after a bearing seized, probably after getting wet. I’ve got the senton too, which is my favourite 3s blx!

    • @creekcreeperrc7972
      @creekcreeperrc7972 6 месяцев назад

      Senton is totally bulletproof besides bearings here and there. I just hate how the body captures alllllllllllll of the tire roost... I have to pick mine up and flip it over and shake it out while driving it.. I am testing the vortex 3s and its doing much better at keeping debris out, but the bonus of the senton body is the extra protection.

    We are Arrma fanboys too. Big Rock 3s BLX was our first Arrma. We bought it after watching videos by Heavy Metal RC. It now has more miles and more crashes on it than any other RC we own. Even more than our Losi LMT. I hold it as the best basher in the price bracket. It has held together far better than our Rival MT10.

    I like the 3S BLX Infraction. It's an answer to the slower brushed version they offered before, and the truck itself had such an impact that you see people saying they are tired of the "Hoonitruck." The style never gets old for me, even though they are limited to on road and some smooth dirt surfaces. I still have yet to add one to the fleet 🙇‍♂Solid review, brother! 👍

    seems they have changed the color.r. For me the Big Rock is so good it makes me question why spend more? Ours has been so reliable,, it is as you say a great all rounder. We use it a lot on 75% as my Son is 6 and its more manageable, on 3s you can wheelie all day long. We have a small fleet now, big Rock, Sketer, Omni Terminator, Rlaarlo adm12 and HBX 2996A. Most of our use is of course off road, in the park, woods or BMX track and we don't really want for anymore. I would like to try a buggy and I will probably try with a cheapie before investing in a 1/8th.. So, in short if you own a Big Rock it will end your upgrade bug for bigger and better,,,,, at least for a while. 😁

    Interestingly enough if you do the math and add metal difs and a center dif to the 3s arrma range, the price comes out close to the traxxas hoss/stampede 4x4. And while that vehicle was definitely overpriced if you add the parts up to make them comparable the prices are similar.
    Lets take a granite 3s for example.
    Base price 329
    Metal difs 99 bucks (ARA210007)
    Steel slipper assembly because a center diff isn't an option
    ( ARA210006)
    89 dollars
    When you add them together you get $ 517!
    The hoss was 470 at launch and now is 429 with the hd kit and metal hexs
    Im not saying that the stampede is better. What i am saying is assuming horizon isn't fucking us on the prices of these parts. Its probably not worth it for them to update these designs with metal difs.
    They would be better off making a big rock 4s with a center dif to compete against the traxxas maxx

    • @Freakeye_RC
      @Freakeye_RC 2 месяца назад +1

      Honestly I have the Granite with the metal diffs upgrade and I also own the new 4x4 Stampede/Hoss vxl 3s…even though the Granite is faster and jumps higher..in my opinion the Stampede is a better truck..for 1 you can’t even run the Granite at its full power(3s on 100%)without the axles either snapping off from the diff drive cup or at least popping out with the wheel still attached and having to tighten down that axle screw. Personally I’d spend the extra money for the Stampede and I got my Granite for 270 during memorial Day weekend.I tried to do a Stampede vs Granite video and the Granite couldn’t even get through a full battery. Seems like a toy grade compared to the Stampede..can hear the paper thin body rattling,the plastic pivot balls..few other little things too but this is my opinion.

      @Freakeye_RC that's a very interesting issue. I've never heard that from arrma, generally all I here are good things. I have a granite and have no issues generally speaking. Maybe by updating the differentials moved a weak point or something?
      I don't know, really. I do agree with the stampede being a better truck. However, I believe it never would have gotten to where it is without the granite existing. And I believe that beyondrc will agree.

      @@Boltboy-kh7yw yeah bro I’m not knocking the Granite I enjoy all mines..now I just run it on 2s or 70-75% on 3s and it’s fine…I watched a bunch of RUclips reviews or whatever before I bought it and never really saw anyone say anything negative. It was after the wheel popped off the first time and figuring out the fix is when I learned it’s a common thing.When they only pop off it’s an easy fix with some loctite…but when they break..you have to replace them..which honestly only seems to happen on 3s at 100%…in fairness I run them on some kinda rough terrain and jump them mildly high and I’m not a helluva driver so everyone experience and driving styles vary.
