My motor mount cracked after 5 minutes and only a couple of curb hops. The motor also shifted. My first impression isn't so good. Was expecting it to handle a bit more than a curb jump. Ordered replacement parts, but, not sure I'll be keeping it..
Oh dang. I've had mine for about 8 months and I've launched it like crazy, crashed into a tree, rolled it, lawn darted it, and only thing I've had to replace is the spur gear and the rear outer differential gear
i started with a granite mega 4x4 and for my bday i got myself the big rock! didn't really like how it looked with the stock tires either.. so i put the granite ones on and it turned into a whole other beast! i love it.

I think the stock shock are the worst thing. But that's an expensive upgrade. The M2c parts are nice and will allow you to run 17mm hex weels. Not sure how far you want to take it however. It's been a really fun truck and on 4s it's insane but it wouldn't be my first choice for alot of expensive upgrades. With all the $$ I have in mine I could have bought something better 😵💫 but I geuss that's the nature of the beast 👍👍
I wouldnt say it looks cheap or cheaply made.. Have you ever seen what a stampede or slash look like bone stock? Especially when they are the brushed version which cost as much as the big rock. This look very well made I believe. I own one of these a Cen colossus and a stampede
I wouldn't say cheaply made either. I would say however its made with a lower price point in mind... but all and all it's been a good little truck and on 4s it's alot of fun. 👍👍
There junk don't buy. I don't get I run with those with out breaking it. I have a box of parts to keep them running. My big rock I only keep a replacement spur gear haven't need it yet.
My take is that if the truck can take a beating within reason and holds up well with minimal cost to maintain resulting in more time having fun than working on it then I'm all in !! After all , things are going to break on any basher but if you can live without a better looking part that costs less and lasts , it 's the smart thing to do . IMO
I love this truck ! 3 years and still going strong with minimal repairs or upgrades ! And very easy to work on . Unlike the Big Rock 6s which is an outstanding Truck but quite expensive and IMO not as user friendly as the Big Rock 4x4 BLX 3s . Over all Arrma makes a great truck and it just boils down to having fun with whatever you choose . P.S. I will give you one piece of solid advice with this truck and that is to put a better steering servo on it because these are not crafted well at all . Enjoy !
Yeah i can understand where u coming from, i recently got into hobby being last rc i had was when i was 9yrs old was tyco 9.6v , bought 2 stampede for me and my son surprisingly he didn't really care for it, but dad was hooked after dumping tons of money in upgrades/learning what works and doesn't, my wife bought me the original kaiju and at first felt real clumpsy but wasnt use to size know i ive gotten few more 1/8 scales and look at 1/10 and cant see any fun with smaller sizes,however they take a real beating out the box, where bigger truck with incredible speeds break real easy and aint cheap on modification cost or isnt as many options for upgrades depending on platform, but i do like either big rock or granite 4x4 as there pretty tough and mod options but kinda stuck on team corally sketer? Whatever makes a smile i suppose all that matters
Can't find those shocks anywhere. Do you have a link to where you got yours? Also, had the first breakage on mine. Ran into a tree and cracked the chassis. 😄. That tree came out of nowhere.
Those dam trees can be fast some times...lol... I got the shocks on EBay... they strip down the cars and sell the parts.. sometimes its a wait till they came into stock... another way would be straight from arrma but thats going to be pricey...

These are about 50 a set of 2 and you'll need to upgrade to 17mm weel hex. However, I did this awhile ago and there might be good aftermarket tires in the stock 14mm hex size now and worth looking into.
I've had my BRCC for about 7 months. I LOVE it!! I have put Amazon special 1/8 scale shocks on, and 18t pinion. Other than that all stock and she takes an absolute beating!! I'm definitely going to look into those 17mm adapters and better tires! Sweet choice on the Badlands! Great tires!!👍👍

Shocks were my first upgrade, on my second run 3 of the shock shafts pulled out of the shock ends. And once it happens it happens over and over again. Definitely not a fan of the stock shocks.
@@treysals I went with a set of arrma typhon 6s shocks. You can get a complete built set of 4 on Ebay. There a little bit pricey compared to the price of the bigrock but they work Amazing👍👍

Start with 50weight. @@fxrc3086 I re-watched your video a 2nd time and didn't realize you made an onscreen correction when referring to the hex as 12mm so my bad I didn't catch that the first time ,but yea it's more or less subjective, personally Ive never had any issue with 14mm hexes other than wheel selections a bit thinner than say 12mm ,However I like the fact Arrma jumps up to 14mm even on the smaller 10th scale stuff it just shows there durability compared to the others ,but either way you can't go wrong 17mm is all the more protection I guess. 👍🏼💯
There not too heavy for the stock system. You either have to change the 14mm hex for a 17mm hex like the one from M2C racing or u can get 14mm hex hubs for the proline raid weels
Great video man! Do u think this is better than Traxxas Maxx 4s taking the price into account or u consider the extra money for the Maxx is justified? I was thinking about both of them but the price of Maxx...I think it's too much for a 1/10.... but I don't want to feel the big rock is just not enough once I've bought it instead of the Maxx....
Thank you. This is a fun truck out of the box but I do think the maxx is better. They both have alot of plastic but the maxxs drive train is metal giving u alot more room to grow into the hobby. U would spend more upgrading the bigrock just to get it in line with the maxx. Having said all that they are very different trucks. The maxx is a true monster truck and the rock is truggyish. If I could only have one I would take the Maxx anyday. I hope this helps👍👍
I also think the team corally skeeter should be something to consider. The value is better then the maxx and the electronic are way better which is traxxas biggest flaw I think. However nobody can beet traxxas parts support. Just something to think about🤔👍👍

But neither would I go for a Kraton of I don't want to upgrade whatever I buy. That's why I'm interested in the Maxx: plenty of people saying it's the toughest out of the box, it's really funny with all those wheelies, it's very fast and, if something breaks, it will be cheaper to fix than a 6s arrma. The only thing that makes me keep on doubting is the fact that, apparently, the ESC breaks easily. Just looking for the most straightforward thing because I can fix these things but I prefere investing my time on bashing. I've also been thinking about a mojave or even a Typhon as they're apparently the toughest 6s arrma's. Even with that, I love wheelies and big wheels as the main surface I'm planning to run on is grass. Honestly, I'll probably go for a Maxx once the green one is back in stock here in UK. Feel free to try to convince me with arguments and not fanboy stuff such as "Traxxas sucks and arrma is great"🙂

25t Servo saver is back ordered. I bought a higher end Spektrum servo for it.
Yeah... I put a better servo in but I couldn't find a good servo saver either. I went with a hot racing one but not sure how good it is 👍👍

For the shocks use the Axial Silicon shock Bushings AXA1356

I took weed eater gas line and may shock spacers for my shocks on my armour and it tightened right up pretty tough to

It will do that sometime... I would make sure the lock nut still has rubber in it and maybe try a little blue locktite 👍👍

@@_N4VE_ I did.. I ended up getting a set of M2C Extended 17mm hubs and some 2.8 proline badlands.

One of this trucks strengths is that its so light even with alittle aluminum goodies. Very rugged and haven't broken anything yet👍👍
And adding metal adds weight, you certainly don't want more in the front.. but can be beneficial in the rear like with a Baja Rey 1/10.
